JD and Deacon did an amazing job on my best friend’s and my tattoo. They were patient, gentle, and all around awesome. Highly recommend this shop and these artists.JD helped us take our idea to paper and leant his ideas and suggestions. The shop is clean and has a very accepting and chill vibe.

Its the place to go! Great artists. Amazingly decorated interior so tons of beautiful art to distract yourself with when youre getting inked. Love JD and Ashley as humans and their tattooing skills are stellar. Same likely goes for the other artists, Ive just never worked with them.

Got a wicked sick ball and chain tatt today from Avery. Great vibe and friendly, professional, and talented artists. Will definitely be back next time I’m in town.

My husband and I are roadtripping and made an appointment here. They made the entire process so easy! Very sweet and talented artists, cool atmosphere and amazing line work!

Was able to walk in and get the tattoo of a hot air balloon I wanted on my anklet. Reasonably priced, and it is so good! I got mine from Kevin, who didnt have any problem with doing a Micro tat. They were so easy to work with. They only take cash though, but theres an ATM in the lobby if the LA Fonda hotel a block or two away.

What a great experience! JD did an exceptional job! I love the tattoo he did on my foot! Super friendly, easy to work with and I was a walk-in and he got right to it! I would recommend both him and this shop!! And we will be back! This is our spot in town for ink! Loved it!

I love love love magical tattoo, Ive had a tattoo done by each of the artists here, and all of them dont disappoint! Deacon, John, JD, and Ashley is my go to always though ! Shes patient with you, friendly, holds a conversation, keeps you laughing, and makes it a great experience everytime, she did a beautiful horse on my arm and beautiful mandala half sleeve on me, I wont go to any other artist ever again after going to magical! Amazing people, I recommend for everyone!

Walked in off the street and started up a conversation with JD. He was able to draw the flash right onto my skin and nailed it the first time. It was kind of a big ask, and he stepped up. Professional, clean, and quick. Absolutely recommend.

Super rad shop with great artists and fair prices. With cleanliness being more important than ever right now, one of the things that sold me on Magical was walking in for a consultation and immediately getting slapped in the face with that “fresh and clean” smell you get from a good shop. Organic pigment is also a huge plus here. The place looks great and has that cool Southwestern vibe that you would expect to find in Taos. My wife and I came in for matching tats after getting married last week. We were lucky enough to get Deacon as our artist, and let me tell ya, the guy is GOOD at what he does. All-around awesome human being and his taste in classic rock was equally good. Thanks for a great experience and keep up the good work!

Wanted to get a small matching tattoo with a friend of mine that was visiting from out of the country. I notified the tattoo shop a week ahead of time, explained my friend wasn’t in town for that long. They explained , the tattoo shop was running a music festival that weekend but , “someone will be here” and “it will get done.” They took my contact information and a picture of the tattoo. I arrived at the shop with my friend, a sign on the door saying it was closed due to the music festival. If you wanna remain closed for a music festival, that’s fine , but how hard is it to call or text and let me know so I could have made other plans? Luckily, I was able to find another talented tattoo artist that was able to fit us in his schedule last minute, but that is not cool to be stood up like that ! I trusted the shop, because I have gotten tattoos there previously, but what a huge disappointment

I was on vacation in New Mexico and called last minute for a tattoo. JD was able to draw up my idea and get me taken care of really quickly. His work was very efficient. It wasn’t overpriced at all. The facility was clean and warm. I’ve gotten many compliments on it. Really appreciated him working on such short notice and producing such quality work for an affordable price. Would definitely recommend!

Best tattoo shop I’ve been to. Genuine artists who pay close attention to my idea of a great tattoo. JD went above and beyond. Walking into the shop feels like stepping into a cozy environment with the kindest folks I’ve ever met.

Deacon did a small floral tattoo on my wrist. He was nice enough to fit me in while we were visiting in town. He did a great job and I love my new tattoo. The place was clean, neatly decorated and the service was great!

They do great work but they denied me and friend service because we wanted matching tattoos on our hands. They said because we aren’t heavily tattooed that they wouldn’t do our hands. Meanwhile my friend is covered in tattoos she just had a sweatshirt on so you couldn’t see them😂 I went here solely because my ex got his hand tattooed here back in 2021 lol I’ve wanted this tattoo for YEARSSSSS it wasn’t a spur of the moment choice. They also said the tattoo we wanted was “aggressive” it says w.a.y.s. That stands for “why aren’t you smiling” I’m not sure what is aggressive about that. I’ve never felt so disrespected before in my life over something I was passionate about. We ended up at another tattoo shop where the artist was excited and supportive of our decision. I understood hand tattoos fade over time I knew that to begin with but I was spoken too like I was ignorant and I don’t appreciate that. Very happy with the work I got done at Muerte Tattoo 🥰 the artist also reassured me to come in whenever I feel like the tattoo is fadingNow they are trying to say they have a strict policy about not tattooing hands…ok why did you tattoo my ex’s hand in 2021!?!? I was there when he got it done lol

JD did my wifes and mine matching tattoos and did an amazing job.. glad we found them there at Magical Tattoo.. definitely plan on returning for some more artwork to be done..

Deacon did two tattoos for us on the spot with no appointment. The atmosphere of the shop is awesome, the people are even better. A fantastic experience and we will definitely be back next year when we are out for vacation.

The owner, Dano, is a super cool guy. I got my first tattoo from him and I have only gone back to him since. His shop is clean, has a great atmosphere and is in a prime location. I highly recommend this shop and I will continue to go back to see him. Give him a visit when you are in town, highly recommended!

Unlike any tattoo shop Ive ever been in! Its never easy to be a big girl walking into a tattoo shop. I felt accepted & welcomed right away! Dano was professional, and I was blown away by his artwork. Hes truly gifted, with a style all his own. If youre looking for a one of kind, peice of art this is the shop for you! I waited to post a review to see how my tattoo healed. Just as expected, prefectly! I appreciate the experience, and suggest to all.

Super disappointed in this place. I had made an appt for me and my husband to get a tattoo here two weeks before we were in town for our Anniversary. Had sent pictures to JD and everything explaining what we wanted. He then told me that John was now going to be doing our tattoos and he forwarded him all the information. We planned our entire day around making it to this appt all to get there and no one is there. JD did not answer his phone when I called, we just got completely stood up. We waited outside for over 30 min and no one called us or showed up. Would have understood if someone called to cancel our appt as things happen but this really put a damper on our anniversary. Thanks for nothing Magical Tattoo.

Dano is the absolute best. I go to Dano for every tattoo need. The shop has an awesome vibe, and it is kept immaculate. They really work diligently to develop a great client relationship with you. You feel comfortable, and well taken care of with Dano. You can expect nothing less of excellent with his work.

I visited Magical Tattoo for a (very) spontaneous walk-in while traveling through Taos back in October. JD nailed the design and Im super happy with it. Would gladly visit if Im ever in town again.
