Ive had the wonderful privilege of visiting this shop often since May of 2023, as my husband has gotten a full sleeve done and Ive just started my 2nd tattoo here. This is, hands down, the cleanest shop Ive ever been in. Not only that, the space is extremely well decorated, and the entire vibe feels so safe and good.My husband has been working with Killian for about 5 months or so, and Ive been working with Jaidyn for 2 months, and we could not be happier. Whenever we have appointments, its like going to see good friends because its such a comfortable space to be in. Not only are the artists ridiculously talented here, they are professional, clean, and truly do amazing work. Ive interacted with everyone here, and all of their collective energy is what makes this place so perfect. Ive had the pleasure of talking to Ainslie, Caleb, and Kris during my time spent here, and Ive seen their work along with how they are with their clients and fellow artists. Im confident in saying that anyone would be well taken care of here, with any artist.The culture that Ainslie has built here as the owner is unprecedented, and so impressive. You can tell there is so much love and passion for this space, and that is what really sets it aside from anywhere else.Weve had a couple unfortunate issues on a personal level during our visits, which include me having a panic attack during my first session, and then walking out to a flat tire on our most recent visit! During my panic, I felt so safe, and no one made a big deal out of it- which is exactly what I need. I was given so much care and patience, and although I was already ready to say this is my shop, but that moment really sealed the deal.As far as our flat tire- my husband and I had both gotten ink and were ready to go home after a long day but a nail in the tire gave us other plans. We initially thought we didnt have the right tools and would need to deal with our roadside assistance. Killian and Ainslie didnt bat an eye and came to the rescue to help out. Who knows how long we would have been there without their assistance. Unfortunately, id be hard pressed to come up with another shop in this area that would have done the same in both of these situations.So, heres your sign that this is the shop you need in your life. Every single artist and the experience you have is worth the wait to get in the books. This place is a real gem, and Im proud to say its my place. Vintage Karma is a phenomenal studio. I am constantly being asked where I got my tattoos - Kris is excellent and has made my ideas come to life in the best way. All of the artists are extremely talented, and the shop itself is welcoming and comfortable. I highly recommend VK for your tattoo work!

I had gotten Tattoos in my youth that didnt exactly... fit my personality at 50. I had looked at several shops in the area but had settled on Vintage Kara because I felt the atmosphere and artist were very professional and welcoming to everyone. I wasnt disappointed. I waited to get into Ainslies book . I wasnt disappointed, the experience was so comfortable and easy. I felt right at home even after not setting foot in atattoo studio for more than 20 years. I cant recommend this studio strongly enough to older people thinking about a new peice or cover-up. The experience couldnt have been better.

Was a very awesome atmosphere. My tattoo artist was Jaidyn, and she was great with the whole experience. It never felt rushed and she made sure I was comfortable during the entire appointment.Definitely coming back for my next piece of art.

I got my second tattoo here, and I regret it almost every day. Killian went too deep so now the majority of the lines are blown out. Good learning experience.

I had my first tattoo done today (at the age of 57) by Jaidyn and it couldnt have gone any better than it did. I was rather nervous, but Jaidyn put me at ease with her professionalism, understanding, and great work at explaining the process step by step which kept my mind relaxed throughout the process. Shes a great artist and Im very pleased on how the first part of my tattoo looks. Looking forward to returning in the near future to complete the rest of my tattoo. I highly recommend Vintage Karma, Jaidyn, and the rest of the staff to having works of body art done.

Had a large leg piece done, two 6 hour sittings. Everyone was great, went out of their way to make me comfortable. I had to reschedule my second sitting due to a death in the family, had no trouble at all getting it set up. Highly recommend them.

Ainslie and his staff are TOP of the line at what they do. Highest of all recommendations! One of the coolest INK experiences I’ve ever had. Ainslie has done 6 of my 14 pieces and I couldn’t be happier!

The best place to get tattooed! I have gotten some amazing tattoos there. One tattoo by Caleb and three by Killian. All the artists are all super talented and Laura is always so kind. They also have an amazing little shop out front with the best socks on the planet. You should definitely go there. 😊

Got my very first tattoo done here by Tash and it was awesome! She explained the whole process to me extremely well. She knew I was nervous and was super nice about it. Even though I got a smaller tattoo, she let me know if I needed a break to just let her know. Even used her tattoo gun with a little water at first so I could feel it to make sure I would be okay with it. Some of the other artists were joking around with us and the whole place was just super friendly and had a great vibe to it. And the tattoo itself is beautiful and turned out even better than I imagined.. Couldnt have asked for a better experience with my first tattoo. Highly recommend and will definitely be back for more in the future!!!

I love this shop! I have had all of my tattoos done here. Laura, who handles the scheduling and curates a cool curio shop, is great, even if she cant draw. The artists are all great and fun to work with. Its a cute place that feels super clean.

Ainslie helped my confidence so much. I have a very large scar on my arm and people ALWAYS asked what happened. I was so self conscious. Ainslie is professional and caring and took time to listen to my concerns and research tattooing a scar the size of mine. With the cover up, not a single has noticed I have a scar and I ALWAYS get compliments on my work. I can’t wait to go back for some more work! Thanks Ainslie? You’re the best

Ive had many piercings and tattoos from VK! All of the artists (Ainslie, Killian, and Caleb) put their full effort into every single piece of art they produce. Ive had 12 tattoos done here! And Laura, the piercer, is very knowledgeable and super friendly! Shes done 9 of my piercings and they all came out very fresh and perfect! I highly recommend going there for your next body mod, or even just to browse their unique little shop at the front of the store!

Ainsley is working on my cover up. Done an amazing job both times. The other artists have beautiful portfolios and do great work. Would recommend 100% over the other shops Ive been to!

I have five tattoos from Vintage Karma, and their artistry and manner is amazing! The artists are very friendly, kind, knowledgeable, and incredibly talented.

I went in after seeing all the wonderful reviews and I was definitely not disappointed! Everybody was super friendly. Caleb did my tattoo and it came out way better than I imagined it would! I gave him some creative control and he did not disappoint. This is definitely my go to place from now on!

I am in the middle of tattoo #3 with Vintage Karma. The atmosphere is very laid back, but professional. It is impeccably clean and safety/health standards are way surpassing excellence. The staff is creative, and super friendly and the artistry is out of this world. A top notch establishment and I highly recommend it.

Laura did a great job piercing my nose. She was very nice and explained everything that was going to happen. She was very professional, and the establishment was super clean. I felt at home when I walked in. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to get a piercing or tattoo.

Amazing experience! Laura is so patient and knowledgeable and personable; she answered all my questions and is so accessible, especially during aftercare. This was my first ink, and it was important to me to support a female artist. Tash was outstanding. I loved the artwork she came up with, and she was incredibly professional. The shop has such a great, funky atmosphere; Id hang out and drink a coffee and read a book there if that was a thing. Best tattoo shop in the state as far as Im concerned! Very personable staff, awesome location, and the tattoos are insane. When I started seeing posts on their facebook I knew my next tattoo would be coming from them. I ended up getting it eventually, and I am VERY happy with it. Theyll work with you to make sure its perfect and have an awesome ability of getting ideas out of YOUR head, onto paper (then onto your body)!

The people here were incredible. They know what theyre doing and they want to make sure you know what youre getting before you get it. My artist was extremely patient while I picked out a font and explained everything to me the whole way. He was a great artist to do my first tattoo and Im glad I went here for it.

For years I wanted a sleeve and had ideas of what I wanted on it. Part of it would require a cover up and had no idea how that would go. From my initial consult with Ainslie through the entire tattooing was a great experience! The ability to take my ideas and put it to a work of art on my arm is such a talent! Each member of the team at VK is awesome, friendly and amazing artist.I have since sent my daughter to have her tattoos done by VK and would not let anyone else tattoo me in the future.

This place is AMAZING. The artists are top notch, the space is beautiful. Ive had all but one of my tattoos done here and will have many more done here. They are an LGBTQIA friendly business and as a woman Ive felt very safe and respected in this space.

Every time I walk in, Laura greets me with a smile and answers any questions I have thoroughly. They sell the cutest antique jewelry in the shop, if youre not much into tattoos. Ainsley always displays amazing work via Facebook and Instagram, and their new artist Killian has became a personal favorite of mine. For being a generally new artist, he KILLS it with his designs, coloring, and shading. Not to mention his work is speedy and hes always focused. Vintage Karma is the absolute best!

Vintage Karma is hands down the best. This is not a ordinary tattoo parlor, this ia a tattoo parlor that is made up of great artist that put everything into there work. I highly recommended the great people at Vintage.

I had been waiting for one of the artists to open their books for some time when I got an email to their listserv about an apprentice, Kris Evans. I look through her Instagram feed (peechfuhz) and couldnt believe this was apprentice work. I immediately contacted Kris to start a conversation about my first piece with her, and I was gobsmacked by the way she elevated my original thoughts to a new level.We are halfway through the next tattoo, and Kris again took a rough concept and created a work of art! Kris is a joy to work with, being careful to explain everything and being perceptive and attentive in asking/suggesting a short break.She has exceptional communication skills, finding that vision in her clients concepts and bringing her art school training and immense artistic talent to bring a living work of art into being. Kris is nothing short of amazing, clearly an excellent addition to Ainslie, Caleb, and Killian.

This is an amazing studio! Very clean and all the artists are incredibly nice, competent and fantastic at what they do. I have been twice about 5 years apart and the quality has remained above and beyond. Worth the drive out from Champaign and then some.

My first time in this shop was 7-8-17. I came in after seeing a piercing special and seeing the rave reviews so decided to give it a try. Initially walking in I was surprised at how nice it is. They have an area of different things to shop for such as jewlery and other small things. I was greeted and started on paperwork. After being finished with my paperwork Laura brought me back for my piercings. I was disappointed that although there were a few dividers there was what felt like little privacy which can be intimidating when getting a private piercing. She opened her tools in front of me which is always appreciated and standard and she got to work on marking. After getting marks in place and looking I decided I was happy with placement and she got me clamped. I have to say this was the worst piercing pain Ive ever felt out of my other 7 experiences. It was slow going through and my first question afterward was, did you not use lube? I was informed that she doesnt use lubrication which set me back. We had a conversation about why that was and tried to move on but I couldnt go through with the second piercing at that point. She seemed a bit nervous right off the bat and quite shakey. That mixed with the slow entrance and dry slide of the needle and the lack of privacy just did me in. The piercing was placed far too low and had to be taken out and healed. I now have to pay another shop to do it right. I dont think Id be inclined to revisit for a piercing. That being said, the shop was clean, the people were friendly and as a piercer she had good table side manner.

Ainslie is an amazing artist that will create exactly your vision. Laura will get you set up and they both have the coolest things in the front of the shop. A must stop for a novelty soda or a new tattoo.

I went in to get a forarm tattoo touched up as it was starting to fade and a friend had recommended them. The shop seemed cool so I signed the papers and let them do their thing. The result was really bad... as another friend put it, it looks like a bad prison tattoo. They messed up the symmetry of the symbol (Red Hot Chili Peppers logo) and lines that were once straight are now angled. Im stuck with this atrocity and thats a major bummer.

So glad I decided to try this place!They were easy to get a hold of, friendly staff.. So happy with how my fox and the hound tattoo turned out. Its perfect. Excited to do more work with them 🙂
