Hilltop Tattoo Company

Being new to the area, i had to do a little research on which place would best suit the style tattoo I wanted. I came across hilltop. I walked In, showed them my design and set an appointment the next day. I am in love with my tattoo!!! Its bright and bold! Cormack executed the tattoo just as I envisioned. I know my style isnt his, but His 30 plus years of experience shows! I couldnt be happier. So thankful!

Got a tattoo I’ve been wanting for a long time for a reasonable price. Rando was flexible with getting it done and the tattoo looks great! The shop seems to be run effectively and with clean work spaces.This will definitely be my spot for more ink around 29 Palms. I cannot recommend these guys enough.

Had a great experience at Hilltop Tattoos. I went with my fiancé to look at the place and see their flash tattoos. We were greeted by Rando who was really nice and welcoming. As we looked around we noticed that they have a “get what you get” tattoo gumball machine for a set price.We looked at each other and knew we wanted to go for it! The choices that came out were awesome. The designs were more intricate & detailed than what you would get for something around that price. When we asked they said that all the artists in the shop made designs they liked for the machine. You could tell they were having fun which is always reassuring!I got tattooed by Cormack and my fiance by Rando. Both of them were great! Nice, super friendly, and professional. Made sure we were comfortable the entire time.It’s been a week and they are healing great! We’re both super happy.If you’re in town and are thinking about getting something, don’t hesitate to visit Hilltop. Came here to get my first tattoo, they made it super easy and were super helpful. I showed the guy the picture of what I wanted, he drew it up and we did it right then. And he nailed it, the detail in the tattoo is top notch.

Took me awhile to find a shop in the high desert that was worth a damn. These artists are highly skilled and can create a great tattoo for you! They are super cool and friendly as well which is important. But remember, tattoos are supposed to be fun, so don’t be afraid to pop in and get yourself a jammer and leave with something new! AWESOME artists! On vacation visiting from SD for Thanksgiving and wanted to get tattoos as a family. Walked in and they were able to get all four of us in and tattooed in about 2 1/2 hours. Friendly, easy to work with, listened to what we wanted, clean, comfortable space, and tattoos turned out PERFECT! Thanks Hilltop Tattoo!

Honestly this is one of the best tattoo shops Ive ever been to. Ive gotten a half sleeve and another done by Randy, he is always super kind. The artistry is beautiful,the work is always excellent quality and good pricing. I always leave happy, and in way better shape than I expected to be. If youre looking to get really good work done this is the place to go.

I did the $150 flash tattoo & even though it’s way out of my comfort zone & my usual style, i recommend going. 10/10 service & they have a ATM. if i’m ever in the area again i definitely will go back.

Everyone here was absolutely amazing. I got my first tattoo here and no regrets at all! The experience and vibes were immaculate. The pricing was great and the tattoos were even better. Line work was super clean and detailed. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking to get a tattoo especially if it’s your first time doing so. Me and four other people got tattoos and we were only there for 3 ish hours for all of us to get done. Everyone was fast and efficient without making everything feel rushed. 🤩

I’ve been to different tattoo shops in different places and I have to say, I was surprisingly impressed with this one. Walk-in ready, professional, organized shop. Good conversation. And most importantly, I love my tattoo! I was afraid getting an elephant, that any artist would mess it up given the type of detail it would require. But it looks awesome! My husband and I were visiting Joshua Tree this week for our 5 year wedding anniversary and I decided I wanted to get a tattoo to commemorate this milestone. We came across Hilltop yesterday and had a really great walk-in experience. We came in later in the evening and was greeted right away. I explained my tattoo idea and Cormack quickly drew up the design I wanted and got me back into the chair. I’m in LOVE with my tattoo - it’s so nice and the lines are super clean. Cormack was kind, knowledgeable and efficient - just a really cool dude. He even sent us off with a little gift! I’m so glad to have this as a memory of my time spent in JT. Thank you!!

Myself and a pair of friends are in 29 palms, I havent been here in 29 palms for damn near 18 years, I dont know a soul. The weekend we had was memorable. I say to my buddies, lets get some bangers! Its been a decade since Ive had some ink. We drive around and stop at this place on top of hill, place looks clean and chill. We walk in. Had a short convo with Cormack. Im not going to kid you I had some inhibitions, my buddy went first. Let me just say, Cormack blew me away with his work. I get mine banged out next. Dude I cant believe we just walked in to some random place and left with some of the best ink work weve both seen. Cormack was a gentleman with experience and a deft hand, not some ego flat brim kid. Id fly 2000 miles to have Hilltop stamp me again. I cant say enough good things about this joint. Ill be back again, count on it.-Jarred

I was with 3 girlfriends for a weekend trip to Joshua Tree and on a whim decided to get tattoos. The staff at Hilltop was fantastic! This was my first tattoo so I was VERY nervous, but the staff was so kind and helpful. The artist, Shane, did a great job easing me in and working quickly! The whole shop was spotless and between each person many measures were taken to keep everything sanitary. Would 100% go back if I visit the area again. The staff even took pictures with us because Im so sentimental and wanted to capture the moment. Four giggly white girls are definitely not the typical clientele, but they treated us like family! I highly recommend!

My mom and I got tattoos together at Hilltop this week. Went in as a walk in right when the shop opened. I recommend going in early as a walk in. Got right in. I got a dragonfly from Cormack. Colors are vibrant and its healing great. My mom had a blown out old tattoo on her wrist that needed covering. Beebo did a great job on her cover up. She had a bit of hard time with the pain but he was super patient and quick. Will definitely swing back through the next time were in town.

I got my band tattoo about 8 months ago here by Ben, absolutely loved his work and his style, I decided to come back in and get two more done, lettering and a skull, he gave me an original piece and did an absolute perfect job! I love the environment and every there is amazing and friendly! Good tattoos ain’t cheap and cheap tattoos ain’t good. Their tattoos, are both quality tattoos and of great price.

I personally worked with John. He did a tattoo on both my wife and i about 2months ago now( I got a roadrunner on my calf). He was able to work with us and give us valid input on what might look best. For the quality of work his prices are very reasonable. Hes very light handed and works quickly, line work is phenomenal and shading/colors came out beautiful. As a whole very happy with all the work and i am upset I no longer live in the area. Would happily go back if I was in the area even if it was just for flash. Regardless of wether its your first or fifth tattoo I would definitely recommend this shop.

A absolutely stand-out shop among many. This is the place if you are looking for quality, professional work. A great shop for a first-time tattoo or a veteran collector. The staff are friendly and talented, the prices are reasonable, and the work is high quality. They touched up a tattoo for me that was over a decade old. It now looks better than my original did. I would absolutely return, and I recommend them to anyone looking for quality tattoo art.

Damien King is the guy to see if youre looking for quality work, fair price, and efficient pacing. I went in at about 7:30 and showed him what I wanted and he sketched, stenciled, and placed the tattoo in amazingly short time. I was out by 9:30 and he did a fantastic job. Best tattoo shop in 29 palms! I almost finished a sleeve in the 2 years I’ve been stationed here, everyone has been tattooing for at least 15 years, so they’re very on top of everything and make great suggestions. Very fair priced for what you get, and being a good customer goes a long way with them. Just remember, there’s good tattoos and cheap tattoos. And you get what you pay for. Very satisfied with all of the work I’ve gotten here

My experience here was great. My tattoo artist was Shayne I believe, and he was awesome. Me and my husband wanted to get matching tattoos of magnolias but we wanted different styles, and what they sketched up was exactly what we wanted! Our tattoos turned out great, and it wasn’t badly priced!

Ive had three tattoos done here and my wife has gotten one here herself, all of them are exceptional quality, Mr. John and Rando are super cool they get the work done. If you wnt good work done go here. Good place to go especially for old school and traditional/american traditional tattoos. They also do good realistic. Also they got good tattoo ethics, ie not tatting drunkards and the place is clean

Got both my first and second tattoos here. First was a simple small realistic piece but shane brought it to life and made it absolutely perfect! For my second I came in and had an appointment for the next day, for a old school black bear head with a dagger through it. Yet again Shane blew me away, negotiated pricing, did the tattoo quick but absolutely perfect. I could not have been any happier with the entire experience and all the other artists there! These people truly love art and care about making the highest quality pieces! Im definitely getting more from these guys!

Solid professionalism and work dedication. Their work space is clean and organized, which is noticeably above average if you’ve been to a number of tattoo places. Tattoo on my rib cage came out looking gorgeous even though I squirmed a bit during the painful parts. They did a great job and I will likely be going back to get another piece done next month.

Rob Nunez is an awesome artist. The attention to detail and still he has is amazing. Like any normal person coming to a new shop I was iffy, but once I realized he was constantly checking his work and making sure my tattoo was perfect I knew I was good to go. 10/10 would tat again

Beto is amazing! I was impressed by the facilities as soon as I walked in and, after reviewing the artist books, knew this is where I wanted my next tattoo. Beto took my concept and catered it perfectly for me. The linework (my tattoo is all words) is super clean and he really took the time to make sure it was perfect. I will definitely be returning for my next one!

Rob did great work. I came in after sending them my idea a couple of days prior. They gave me an estimate and started right away. It was over in under three hours. Be ready to spend some money but it was more than worth it for me and Id definitely recommend it to anyone trying to get some good ink.

Had a tattoo done and they just slapped the wrap on and sent me on my way as fast as possible. I got one the day after and its already healed way faster. They also say they charge so much because of their workers. Apparently for a 20 min tattoo is $150

Got ripped off. Won’t lie the quality of the work was good but the dude Ben charged me 300 dollars for less than an hour of work which is absolutely wrong. I asked for a quote so I could go grab money and all he said was there’s an ATM in the shop. If you actually want a good price and good quality you’re better off going somewhere else and make sure you ask their hourly rates before they rip you off too.

My buddy referred me to this shop. The staff was helpful and friendly and my artist Dennis took extra time to make sure the stencil was just right. Price was fair and it seemed like they cared about the work they did.

I had to get a tattoo fixed from a bad experience. Met with Shayne who did an amazing job. Everyone there is super friendly. Definitely going to have to get at least one more tattoo from these guys before I go.

The artists; Shane, in particular, demonstrate an impressive level of professionalism and dedication to their trade. They are generous, down to earth, and efficient. I enthusiastically recommend this institution to other people seeking quality tattoo work.
