The Great Wilderness Tattoo

My 13 year old daughter got her septum pierced 8/4/24, The piercer, Braxton was very thorough when telling my daughter how to take care of her piercing, and he was very calm and made her feel relaxed. She enjoyed her experience and wants to go back for something else soon, The staff makes you feel welcome and they will take their time explaining anything you need to know! I will bring my daughter back to have something else done but I will also go there myself for future tattoos, and piercings !!

Great little shop with some very talented individuals. Stopped in to meet with my artist Chip Harris to continue working on a project a long time coming. Clean facility convenient to Warrior Alabama easy access from the highway. Another great experience!

Absolutely first rate! Bregan did an amazing job on my chest and sternum tattoo! Her line work is excellent, and she doesnt bear down hard with the needle. Best tattoo experience Ive had! Plus, the studio is really cool and comfortable. I will definitely be getting the rest of my work done here.

Braxton has done all my piercing including my mom and closed friends. He has such an awesome personality and he is very comforting with each patient. You can tell his passion for the art of piercing. He truly is a great person and is very talented at what he does!

Came to get my first ever tattoo done. I made an appointment with Bregan and she was great! I had the specific song title I wanted along with the handwriting for it, and she perfected it. Everything was fast, clean, professional, and just an overall great experience. 100% recommend TGWT. I will for sure be coming back!

Once again another great piercing by Braxton. Me and my bd got piercings just last night. Amazing dude. Wasn’t able to tip last night but the tip is coming today on cash app thank you SO much Braxton we WILL be back. I travel 45 minutes away just to come to Braxton it’s always worth it!

I went to The Great Wilderness on several people’s recommendation, and was not disappointed. I’ve had one tattoo done by Basile and two by Bregan and I am more than happy with all three. The business is very clean and welcoming, and the staff are super talented and friendly. Going in a couple of weeks to get a poor tattoo (done elsewhere) fixed by Basile. Highly recommend!

Been in for 2 tattoos and 1 piercing, and every time its been an excellent experience! Braxton knows his piercings, gave a thorough guide of what to expect and was super chill through the whole thing. Mychaela did excellent work with my tattoos and was 100% professional the entire time. I absolutely can not recommend this shop enough, and Ill definitely be back in for more!

Definitely my favorite tattoo shop around now. Great atmosphere, a very clean shop, and even better artists. Chip Harris was my artist and he did a phenomenal job. I showed him what I wanted and he drew it up perfectly. He made it a great experience. I will not be going anywhere else from now on!

They did really good when i went to get my first tattoo there! i was really nervous about the pain and that it would come out weird but it’s almost a year later and i still love it, hasn’t faded at all, and it was almost completely painless! overall great experience 🩵

I got my septum done yesterday night, and braxton did an amazing job! everything was very sanitary and the staff were all very kind! He talked me through the process and gave me very detailed instructions on aftercare and such. definitely an amazing establishment.

Just came in from Birmingham for a simple design with Chaz. He was great! No heavy hands and easy to talk to and work with. Great song playlist and extremely friendly atmosphere. Great price for what you receive.Check them out if you get the chance, you wont be sorry.

I highly recommend this shop! When Hannah moved here, I followed her to this shop and Im so glad I did. The shop is nice and clean. Hannah has now done 3 of my tattoos and they are absolutely stellar. Her artwork is amazing and she is so talented. While I havent ever gotten a tattoo from Chaz, he is very friendly and professional. I highly recommend this shop. I will continue to drive from Pelham to get all of my ink here.

My daughter got a septum piercing. They were amazing. Very professional and clean. She was very nervous and Braxton spent extra time talking her through everything that was going to happen. Excellent first tattoo experience - worth the hour drive! David Johnson knocked it out of the park with my piece and I couldn’t be happier! I can tell all of the other artists are very talented as well. Nice vibe in the shop and they even offer entertainment options in the waiting area. Highly recommend this place.

Tried for 2 weeks to get a price on a signal letter. No shade, no detail etc. always got told to email it to them and have several times and never received a response. So I went in the store for a third time for them to tell me 250$ for a signal 3 inch letter. NO THANKS!!!

Scheduled a consultation with Jaqui. Showed up and was ignored for 45 minutes. Left to go eat dinner and returned. Sat for another 30 minutes and the owner walked up to the counter to check something. Never asked us if we needed help. Didnt even acknowledge we were there. Just walked off. We left and will not be back. Not the way to do business. Was looking to get a very detailed and expensive sleeve done. Ill take my business elsewhere.

Chaz has done beautiful work on my only two tattoos. I visited him when he lived near Pell City and have been too nervous to trust anyone else to get more since he moved away. So excited to visit this establishment and get the pieces Ive been planning for years.

Great piercer, great atmosphere, really nice and comfortable shop, spacious piercer braxton was really helpful had amazing information and there color changing system for piercings is something I’ve never seen before definetly will be back. It says a lot bc I live all the way in Irondale, I have plenty of closer options such as downtown but these people are officially the best in my opinion.

My boyfriend got his tattoo done here with Chaz,& we came here for Friday the 13th flash sale, waited 12 hours and every mf second was worth it(staff still had awesome attitudes after 22 hrs of tattooing). I’ve never met such an amazing,cool, & friendly staff, every other shop I’ve been to(fultondale, trussville) the artist just seemed like they didn’t care to tattoo but these artist take pride in their work and are so professional. It’s only been a week of knowing this shop and I’ve already recommend to everyone i know. Can’t wait to get more piercings and tattoos from here !!

Tattoo virgin here. Ive actually been to get my first tattoo with my husband, a couples tattoo, and long story short he has a tattoo and I still dont 15 years later...bad experience. The couples tattoo is out the window but Ive had plenty of time to consider and know exactly what I want, but Im gonna be picky about who does it. The ambience of this business has definitely piqued my interest, the reviews are amazing. Im hoping Ive found the one to do it.

Chaz doesnt know how to be professional. Has no concept of time apparently. Needs to quit flirting with the new staff and actually TAKE CARE OF HIS CUSTOMERS. Thats how youre able to afford your rent.

Artist was completely unprofessional when trying to reschedule an appointment. I was simply going to go with another artist when he proceeds to try and get a rise out of me and post our messages to Facebook which is just extremely unprofessional in my opinion. Do not recommend artist Stephen Mickle.
