Black Garden Tattoo

I can not recommend Morgan and Max enough!! I have multiple tattoos from both of them and Morgan is currently doing a huge piece on me to help cover up two old tattoos (one up by my neck/shoulder and one all acroos my hip, but shes been amazing even if its taking many many sessions because of it covering over half of my back, up to my neck and down around my hip. 🤣🤣 I just love getting that good pain from them lolThe second pic of the dragon is still healing on my neck and the black sprites, but its still looking epic already 😎Morgan did the kimono pattern fan and mushrooms and is doing my back piece. Max did my compass and the cartoon of my dog Luna, which is also my business logo 🥰. He also did some dinosaurs on my shoulder (not pictured)

Morgan & Max are not only great artists, but the kindest most welcoming people. I spent a full day getting tattooed by Morgan in January. She was easy to work with from start to finish. She was happy to make changes to the art, gentle and checked in several times on my comfort, casual while still very professional. Ive had several people say my tattoo looks fake its so clean. I highly recommend their shop and art!

Awesome artists, welcoming environment & beautiful tattoos!Having been tattooed by both Morgan & Max more than once, I can confidently say this is the go-to place for quality ink. Both of them do a great job from start to finish, entertain you with a phenomenal sense of humor & have the best snacks to keep you tied over! Anything from black/white to abstract color, you can find exactly what you’re looking for here! I’ve been complimented TONS on my work from this shop and couldn’t recommend them both enough. ☺️

I cannot stress this enough: Max was my artist, he is quite talented and was able to take my idea and run with it. I am beyond pleased with the results - the tattoo is better than i could have imagined. The subject matter is pretty weird - it would take some explaining, but its my way to celebrate Act 39. Im on my way to the other side, and I hope the students who get to practice on my body get a kick from it.While they are quite professional, they are also funny as hell. If you can score a spot with Max, you wont be disappointed.These cats are the real deal, and Max has some great stories. Like I mentioned, Im on my way out of this world, and I want Max to give me a sleeve.Somehow Max is able to tattoo with MINIMAL pain.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Max and having him tattoo this amazing memorial piece. This was my first tattoo with Max, and I will happily go back for future pieces! The studio is clean and welcoming, and Max was super friendly, communicative, and knowledgeable! He was prepared when I arrived and made it clear he was open to any adjustments and even printed off a few different sizes to try out. I chose Max because his line work is incredible, and that shows in the piece he did for me! I was able to take a couple breaks and they offer snacks and water, which was an awesome perk! His rates are super reasonable too!

Max tattooed my upper sleeve in early 2024 when he was a guest artist at Love Struck Tattoo in Annapolis, MD.The entire experience was top notch. Ahead of the tattoo he was responsive and drew up a beautiful design that integrated with my existing shoulder tattoo based on some reference art I sent him. On the day of, we instantly hit it off. He was just super easy to chat with and has a great attitude. We adjusted the stencil a few times as he wanted to get the whole piece laid out properly. Im super stoked with how the tattoo came out even after our first session doing the outlines (7.5 hours). It healed up beautifully too.Im planning on heading up to their studio to finish the tattoo this summer where well fill and shade some of the components that have been lined out.Just about everyone who sees it compliments it. I’ve had a handful of tattoos done, but Max and Morgan are probably the most kind and skillful artists I have worked with so far. They own their own shop and always make you feel heard, safe, welcome, is very clean and it’s always a blast hanging out with them, too! PSA to fellow weebs, they will play your favorite ghibli movie while getting that phresh inkies ❤️

This tattoo shop is awesome! I came during a flash event and everyone was so kind and welcoming. The shop is so clean, cute, and cozy! I had the pleasure of being tattooed by Morgan and her work is amazing. I am very pleased with my experience and Im already booked in for another tattoo soon.

I’ve gotten work done by both Morgan and Max. The quality of their work is phenomenal, clean, and great environment. They are truly amazing artists. I’m a super picky gal, and her flowers are so beautiful. Highly reccomend if you are looking for a great piece and just as great conversation.

Morgan was amazing! I wasnt sure exactly how to describe what I wanted, but she asked questions and created a design nicer than I could have imagined! She is talented, and has a great personality. Her husband and her kept us in stitches with their joking around. This is my second tattoo (at 61) but I think I will probably be back. Thank you Morgan!

My long awaited appointment with Morgan finally arrived yesterday and it was hands down THE BEST tattoo experience I have ever had. I have a few tattoos from other shops and she takes the cake! The shop is beautiful, clean and fully stocked with snacks and a water cooler. The energy of the shop was positive and upon meeting Morgan I felt at ease and not nervous at all. Her shop is clean, professional and inviting. I am super thankful her, her talents and her husband Max decided to come to Vermont. The experience was fun, we laughed and I left with a beautiful work of art. I highly recommend Black Garden Tattoo to friends and family!

I got a tattoo done by Max over the holiday break. He was really easy to communicate and schedule with, and on the day, he made sure my piece was exactly how I wanted it. It was a difficult ask but he really nailed it. Overall a great experience! The atmosphere of the shop is so light and friendly. Morgan and Max have great banter so the time flew by! Ill definitely be booking again!

I have been to Black Garden once, for their Halloween flash event. Morgan ended up doing a small hand tattoo for me, it was one of the best tattoos I’ve had done. Such a fun, inviting, and cool environment to be in for you tattoos. Such a great shop, both artists are amazing, I will be going back.

Morgan and Max are fantastic! Very professional, but also super personable. I’ve never found a tattoo shop that I feel comfortable going into, until I found Black Garden.My husband and I were visiting San Diego (he’s from there) in 2017, and we ended up being walk in clients of Morgan’s. After that we followed her wherever she went when we visited SD from New Hampshire every year. Once Max started tattooing, we immediately started getting pieces from him as well. We’re so beyond thrilled that they’ve moved to Vermont!! We would have traveled anywhere to get our work done by them, but this just makes it all the easier!Feeling so welcomed in a tattoo shop is awesome. Their professionalism, and amazing art work just makes the entire experience even better! I highly recommend scheduling with either of them.

Morgan and Max are the best. They take time and care when it comes to designing and tattooing their art. They are always open to what inspires you and using their art as a representation of that.Their space is clean, calming and well organized (plus, lots of snacks).I have an arm sleeve by Morgan and a leg sleeve done by Max. They are some of the best in the business. Do NOT skip out on them.

I will always recommend going to black garden tattoo! Morgan recently did this beautiful AWARD WINNING tattoo for me while at a conversation. Morgan and Max are amazing artists, wonderful people, and a blast to be around. I have also been to shop. Its super clean and beautiful decorated! Highly recommended! (They like carmel lattes if you want to bring a treat for them. Max does his with whole milk and Morgan does oat milk)

I’m always nervous to see the design for the first time, but the moment I saw it-perfection. There was nothing I would change. I saw Morgan the other day for a tattoo of gladiolus on my forearm. Let me tell you, they are gorgeous and exactly what I was looking for! The colors are perfect and the detail is awesome!Their space is very clean, cute and comfortable and they both are very nice to chat with during the process.It was a wonderful experience and I WILL be going back soon!

Love my new tattoo max did for me. They do raffles and this is the piece I won!!! I now have 4 tattoos from them and can’t wait to go back! The shop is relaxing and the conversation is always fun. Also very accommodating and makes you feel at ease!

I’ve gotten several tattoos from Max. Chill space, super clean line work and amazing shading. Morgan also does AHHHMAZINGGGG colored pieces. Both are absolutely talented and skilled artists.
