I really like it here. I came here to do my tongue piercing ($60), and it was nice and John the piercer he was funny and made it not so intimidating. Also, the jewelry for the tongue arefive dollars!

John the piercer is super pleasant and puts you completely at ease. My daughter has returned there a few times and finally brought me there for my piercing. Highly recommend.

Great service! I walked in looking for a new earring for my Tragus piercing and was instantly greeted and even had the pleasure of him putting the earring in for me! He made me feel very comfortable, talked to me the entire time and I seriously couldnt beat the price!!

My very first time here. My very first piercing other than my earlobes. I had my eyebrow pierced. Ive never felt more at ease, comfortable and safe. I do have a few tattoos. So, I know the environment. Just the fact that John takes pride in his work and establishment, speaks volume. And, he genuinely cares about his clients. He took the time to explain every single detail from start, to finish, semetrics, then right down to every step for aftercare. I absolutely love my piercing. Im actually already thinking about doing another piercing and then having some intricate tattooing done as well.Thank you so very very much John. Ill becseeing you soon. Hubby too!

Great atmosphere and cute little shop. Not much for gauges, but lots of different jewelry. It was $10 per gauge ($20 for a pair) and I got two pairs. They had low in stock compared to their display and pretty much only acrylics, but they gave my sanitary whips and had the both single and double flares. They also hade 1/2in (12mm) and 9/16in (14mm) gauges. I would definitely recommend checking it out if your in the area and will likely go again sometime in the future

Ive had my septum pierced here and just had my first session for a very large, custom thigh tattoo today. The piercing was quick, easy, and professional. The custom tattoo that Jess drew for me was incredible and she absolutely nailed the outline today! Subsequent sessions will completely cover an unwanted tattoo. Highly recommended shop for piercings and tattoos!!

I went in for a mid helix piecing and John was so kind and made me feel so relaxed. He is hilarious and very sweet too!Thanks for a great experience

Wife and I brought youngest daughter to get nose pierced. Have been several time with other daughter for nose and belly. All the guys are excellent there very professional funny try to make everybody at ease excellent work though would recommend them to anyone great bunch of guys...

Boyfriend and I came here for a walk in awhile back, and Greg absolutely BUTCHERED our tattoos. He will tell you hes been tattooing for 30 years and that hes still stuck in the old school ways and only uses an older tattoo gun, but do NOT LISTEN unless you want an absolutely butchered piece.I also have never been tatted that DEEP before, absolutely horrible experience and wont be back. Stay away from GREG!!!

Do not get any Tattoo work from Sam. I went to Butler Hospital with him and he has a problem with drugs and alcohol. I thought he was straight when I got work from him but he definitely relapsed and butchered my whole stomach. When he was sober and clean, he did a nice piece on my chest, but it was like night and day when I could tell that he had relapsed on drugs when he did my stomach. I do not recommend that you get any work done from him because he is unpredictable, whether or not he is on drugs or not . he went behind his bosses back and did tattoos on me on a day they weren’t open, and then his boss blamed me for it while he was tweaked out on drugs. How am I in the wrong when John gave a junkie the keys to his tattoo shop . Sam booked an appointment with me on Sunday because I thought he was doing me a favor but it ends up. He was just cutting John’s throat and trying to make some drug money.

Got a lip piercing here back in June by someone who did not know what they were doing!! Paid full price, called that piercer multiple times about issues I was having with it, came back in and had her change it out for me bc I thought maybe the jewelry was the issue. (then she gave me the wrong jewelry, put it in for me and charged me twice but that’s a different story) Turns out nope! The two girls who are or were working there arent supposed to be doing piercings!!!! But that didnt stop one of them from piercing my lip for full price without telling me any of that. Ive told the shop owner and he offered to redo the piercing for me, and i do appreciate that. But personally healing a mouth piercing is a lot of work and it finally just fully healed to the point where I can use rings, and with a ring the crookedness isnt as noticeable. I asked if I could possibly get my septum done instead, I even offered to pay the difference. But I got accused of lying before he even had a chance to check the footage. I understand that owning your own shop is hard and you gotta be careful, but I was nothing but understanding and asked multiple times if there was any way I could help prove my story, the multiple phone calls I made to the shop, the witnesses, ect. Either way, the whole call left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I got told my story didn’t add up, that “she wouldn’t do that even though he said himself she doesn’t work there anymore bc SHE SCAMMED HIM!!! Yeah, sounds like maybe she would. I get you don’t wanna believe that your employees would betray you and disobey you in this way, but this is something Ive been on and off contacting this shop about for months, throughout the healing of my jank piercing, and now that its healed. I communicated everything I could, but each time I called the shop, that girl picked up and told me she’d take care of me. It seems theres something going on behind the scenes with this shop. Lack of communication, or lying, I dont know or care, but it ended in me paying full price for a piercing that was done incorrectly and for all I know, by someone who might not even be certified! I dont even want the septum anymore, Im sure I can find a trustworthy shop elsewhere that wont give me issues. Its just a shame bc I was very loyal to this piercing shop after having John do my first lip piercing, I would recommend it to any friends looking and went there for all my jewelry. but with my recent experience and some dark rumors ive heard around, this place might be best off avoided.

Went to see John for a double piercing and this was by far the best piercing appointment I’ve ever had. I was so nervous but John and his staff were so calming, knowledgable and patient. 5 ⭐️, definitely recommend and I will be back:)

I truly enjoy coming here. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and kind. I went in for a missing ball to my piercing a couple of months ago, they fitted me and sent me on my way, free of charge!I came back today for a new nose ring. They gave me all the options along with the pros and cons of each. Then they helped me with taking out the old ring and putting in the new one. I grabbed the same ring in a different color as well! $10. Cant beat that.Ive been to several tattoo/piercing shops and this one is by far the most welcoming.

Great 1st time experience at this shop. Super friendly staff, John the piercer clearly knows his stuff and made me feel very comfortable from the get go. He was able to painlessly get new jewelry into an old piercing that I thought had long since closed up, and the new piercing was quick and easy. Ill definitely be coming back!

I went to the shop for the possibility of reopening an old nose piercing. It was an amazing experience, and I would recommend going to anyone! While I was waiting, Flip happened to have had a cancellation and was hanging out in the lobby asking if anyone wanted a tattoo. I showed him a piece I’ve been waiting to get and he immediately starting setting up after allowing me to pick a price range. We both were in agreement that we were going to do an outline of the drawing. While doing my tattoo, he made the decision to “put in the extra.” He put some shading and highlight totally transforming the piece from a simple outline to my favorite tattoo. I look forward to getting tattooed by him again. Great conservation, great music, and a fantastic artist. It’s been like 24 hours and I keep getting compliments everywhere I go. I had a great experience here, John pierced my naval. I let him know I was actively losing weight, so he pierced it in a way that would straighten with my weight loss, and that held up to be true! He’s super personable as well, the shop is clean, and everyone there is super friendly. I will be going there for any future piercings :)

Got my first tattoo with Greg Ash. Great staff, customers, and atmosphere. Healing time was quick and love my tattoo.

Awesome shop, just took my girlfriend here to see the artist Sam Sacco and he did an amazing job. They also do piercings and sell alot of earrings, guages, plugs, belly rings, nipple rings.

I love the atmosphere and the guy who pierced me was very funny, definitely going back.

I do not recommend coming here for tattoos. When I got my septum, I had a good experience, but not when I got my tattoo. I got a tattoo by Greg. It was custom and it was a rat tail. I had him draw it many times because he didn’t even remotely understand what I wanted to be done even though I even drew it myself before coming in. When I finally liked his design, it didn’t come out that way on my skin. Not only is the spacing between each line not equal, but the line work is all uneven. Many lines are thicker than others and if I did a touch up, the whole thing would be way too thick. I had asked Greg for a refund and was told to contact John once it was healed. I was denied a refund and now I have to spend a fortune just to get this removed. Completely wasted my money.

10/10 recommend! I went there recently to get my nose piereced for the first time. John the piercer did a great job! He was extremely informative and friendly. I would definitely go back to Hold Steady for another piercing because I can tell they know what they are doing. Worth the price.

Let me just start off by saying I was amazed at how well these people are running their business right now. Very kind customer service, clean shop, relaxed environment, and more. My boyfriend just got his first piercing here and I tagged along. After being in this shop for all of one minute, we were already chatting it up with John, the man who pierced him. Amazing man. Within the first seconds he introduced himself he had my boyfriend AND me entrapped in great conversations which is rare these days no matter where you are! He did everything he could to make my boyfriend relaxed and comfortable without doing much at all! He made sure that he was aware of the entire cleaning process before he even touched a needle. My favorite part was at the end when he took a picture of the piercing, he would tell funny jokes to get a genuine smile and that was awesome.I could sit here and talk about all the positive things all day! Overall this business is wonderful, and worth more than 5 stars. They created an amazing first experience for my boyfriend, and I plan to go back to get my nose pierced very soon!

What an awesome job John did remodeling the place! Love the steam punk theme, John the piercer/owner is very well educated in his line of work very professional and always sanitary. John was great! He was very kind and helpful! He did my mom and I. The piercing looks great! He was also sarcastic but very funny! He helped me when I was scared and told me it didn’t hurt and that it was easy and to close my eyes! 100% great definitely recommend this place

Great establishment. Very clean. Competitive prices. The piercer is very knowledgeable. He is the only one I spoke with while my daughter was getting pierced. I was impressed with his aftercare speech. He doesnt come across as the take your money type. My daughter wanted a navel piercing however, he explained that with her job (teaches kids to swim in a pool) it would probably be best if she waited for the back to school special. Which is in August in case anyone was wondering.

John pierced my nose today. He is so amazing. He has the best sense of humor and makes you feel completely comfortable, as if you’ve known him for years. He absolutely knows what he’s doing. He is very thorough about giving direction when it comes to keeping the piercing clean and preventing it from becoming infected. The place is absolutely clean and everyone in there is friendly. Hold Steady is my go-to place for both tattoos and piercings. Russ does a fantastic job and is very likable, and his work is amazing. Both my stepmom and I have tattoos from him and we adore them. John the Piercer is the only person I trust to pierce me. Hes done 5 of my adult piercings, and Ive gone with plenty of friends and hes never once done a bad or rushed job. He measures everything extremely precisely and makes sure that the person knows the aftercare for their piercing. There is no other place Id recommend if you want a good, high quality, and well priced piercing. Plus the new lobby is absolutely gorgeous!!

Made an appointment with Flip for a consultation and left with a beautiful piece of art. The talent here is top notch. The shop is clean and welcoming, and EVERYONE working there was friendly and comfortable. Pricing was reasonable. 20/10 highly Recommend for your next piece or cover up.

Sucks. Place went downhill fast. Dont bother buying any jewelry, it all breaks after a week. Last tattoo artist botched both my recent tats. Overall weird vibes and not professional.

Got my first session of the newest of my tattoos done and I’ve never felt so comfortable in a shop. Flip was willing to sit with me and figure out exactly what I wanted and took the time to make sure I was comfortable while getting a tough tattoo. Anytime I go in this place I end up getting exactly what I wanted!

My mom and I called for an appointment. They were very nice and friendly and clean. We got a daith piercing and a cartilage and we saw John. He was very nice and funny and friendly and helped you get through the pain through the piercing. He gave good instructions in how to clean it. And to go back for a check up or if something felt odd. I recommend this place if you decide to get a piercing.

I am really glad I came here to get my ears pierced. John was really professional and took the time to correct the placement of my original lobe piercing (it was a little off centered) before adding the additional piercings that I wanted. He was also extremely thorough when explaining the cleaning/ healing process, and I learned a lot from him in this time. I would definitely go back!

Went in last PM after finally getting my girlfriend to get her ears pierced the right way and not having it done at some damn Walmart or mall kiosk....Dealt with John and she is beyond happy with the piercing and she felt overly comfortable in the shop compared to a few other local shops shes been too with friends in the past. She already has plans once this one is healed to return to have more done & the same goes for myself Ill be looking to have a few done in the near future.Thanks for the great work John and well be reaching out for sure to set up more appointments!

John pierced my granddaughters ears and he did an excellent job. Kept her calm and engaged and was quick so it helped her nerves too. Highly recommend.

Flip was amazing I got a tattoo there and it was my biggest one yet. he made me feel comfortable and made sure he wouldn’t have to rush. He took the time to sit with me and draw it out making sure it’s exactly what i wanted.

During the tattooing process I had brought up the fact that part of the tattoo didnt look colored it was supposed to be(white) and was told that after the healing process it will show. Well it looks nothing like my friends who got the same color on the same day. Also there is another section where the color didnt stick.. I was told that if the needle doesnt go in deep enough apparently the color will not stick.. I called for a touch up and was told it would be 80$ to touch up a tattoo that was not even finished in the first place.. to say Im disappointed that this was my first tattoo is an understatement.. the person who did it was the same person that was talked to I believe his name is greg

I am in town on business and happened to stumble upon this shop due to its reviews here. The shop is clean and just presents a really good vibe when getting a tattoo. I got my work done by Ray and he was fantastic. Great tattoo artist and I would definitely recommend him! As I continue my second sleeve I will be coming back to Ray to do the work. Can’t say enough good things about my experience at Hold Steady!

Cooper, John and Ray are a few of the most talented people I have come across in a long time. Cooper has created tattoos for me (going on four) that are spectacular. John has pierced my daughter and I numerous times and have always been extremely happy. When you walk in there, it feels like home. You are not a number or dollar sign. I cant say enough about this sterile clean, warm, wonderful place.

This shop has a tattoo artist( and I use that term loosely) that does very bad work, steals peoples money(around 20K from people in Florida and Alabama). He goes by the name Flip, but his real name is Paul Pare. Not only have they stolen money, but also committed food stamp fraud in several states. He also claims to be affiliated with a 1% motorcycle club, which he is not. The owner, John W. Sanford Jr has been contacted by several people about this guy, but he still continues to employ him. So, beware if you go to this shop, you may not get what you pay for, you may not get anything at all.

Been going here since I was 12, been back every year since. To either get a new piercing or just new jewelery. Nobody is better than John! Only person I would ever trust to do a piercing. Perfect every time. Made a new appointment for this upcoming Thursday, SO looking forward to it!!

I have been going to Hold Steady Tattoo for a number of years now. Coop does phenomenal work and he is always great about providing suggestions for a tattoo if I cant quite determine specifically what I am looking for. He is an amazing artist. He is my tattoo guy for life....after all, everyone has a guy. Lastly, the shop is spotless; Coop would tolerate nothing less nor would I.

John, has pierced my upper ear, nose, & tongue. I wouldnt trust anyone else. Everything is clean, in packages, & he is just so good at what he does.....Cooper, has retouch 2 of my tattoos, from another place. He really brought them back to life. He also did 2 tattoos on my husband. His work is unbelievable. The way he wrote Dad, that isnt bold. But was able to get the colors of the Italian flags into those letters still blows my mind. Everyone who sees it, is amazed that it could be done. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 To all 3 of them. If you go there, you wont be disappointed. They are the best.

Came here bc I needed a specialized piercing to help with a chronic health issue. The piercer was amazing. He made me laugh but was professional at times, thoroughly, telling me the best way to care for my piercings. Pricing is super reasonable, $35 and that includes the piercing jewelry. I saw pics of what the tattooist had done and the work is good. Ill definitely return for my next tattoo and future piercings.The piercer is the owner and gave me a card with the shop number and his cell ##. I have used both several times and hes always patient with my stupid questions haha. Ive been to other piercers but have also been ripped off and given improper caring instructions causing closing of piercing. Not true here. The paper with instructions is up to date with the latest info available. Its only been 12 days and my piercings are doing fab!!

Ok so John pierced my daughters cartilage. He is a riot! He is also very thorough with instrucions on care afterwards. Everything was clean amd sterile which was extremely important to me. He made my daughter feel so comfortable with his jovial personality. If he ever wants to change careers i think he would have a great shot at being a stand up comedian. We will definitely be going back. Great guy, great experience!

I went here for my 18th birthday to get a smiley piercing. when i got there everyone was friendly and I didn’t rlly have anything negative to think ab the place. but when i went in the room to get pierced the topic of conversation lead to him going on a controversial speech (don’t get me wrong i love a good controversial convo but he was sooo cocky with it) . After about 20 minutes of listening to this guys views😂, the employee pierced my web in the wrong angle, i didn’t think much of it at first because i figured it was just swollen. but now it’s fully healed sits crooked, also let me mention the fact that he was struggling to put the second bead which hurt. a lot. felt like i was gonna pass out after. It was also $80 out of my pocket for a weird and pro-longed piercing experience.

Ive gone there for all of my tattoos with both Cooper and Ray. It has a very welcoming atmosphere, making you feel right at home. Theyre all very patient and the work always comes out stunning.

Hey y’all I went to Flip it wasn’t my first tattoo but he made me feel more comfortable with him in 10 minutes than I have with past tattoo artists. The guys work is solid.

I requested a double nose hoop because I saw it on Instagram and thought it was really cute so I asked them to get it which they did and it looks better than ever I appreciate them going out of their way and doing that I would recommend going here because the piercer is really nice and understanding

I was supposed to get my ear pierced today with my friend. She was running late and I knew she would prefer wearing a mask. When I went in I was wearing one and the gentleman at the front desk was a couple jerk when I told him I felt more comfortable wearing one because I work in healthcare. Instead of staying silent he decided to give his input. Bad business. Glad I knew it before I spent money there.

Staff were amazing. I was able to book a same day piercing appointment. It was a very clean shop and their staff were well educated and happy to answer any questions. Very friendly. Wish I could give more stars.

I’ve been to Hold Steady Tattoo twice now & they’re fantastic; the shop is clean, the guys are friendly & it’s an awesome atmosphere to be in.Dennis Cooper has done two of my tattoos and I’ve honestly found my guy to do all the rest, he’s friendly, outgoing, caring & walks through the process with you so you can see everything is clean & new, his work is AMAZING & his personality is out of this world, definitely keeps you laughing!

Havent had any work done here, just went in to buy some body jewelry. Did get to flip through some of the portfolios, and it looks like the artists do some pretty amazing work. Parking doesnt appear to be too big of a problem, which is good considering most of the shops in this area have nightmare parking lots with no room to move, if they even have parking at all. If I didnt already have a tattoo artist that I loyally go to, I would definitely be interested in checking this place out.

Got bad aftercare instructions got infected looks awful have to live with it forever. Thanks guys.In response to owner. Its about a tattoo. I take care of mine never had this problem before. Was told to use coconut oil vs traditional methods and got infected. Had to take antibiotics and need to get my tattoo redone elsewhere. Would have never tried that but one of your artists insisted that was the way to go.

Never want to go here again. Finger tattoo is legit falling off like a stick on tattoo. Had 2 other places look at WITH OUT me pointing it out and said it was done very incorrectly and that it looks like a kid drew it. With following the directions it should NOT be falling off but fading is normal. This isnt fading its falling off. Was offered for a free touch up which they dont normally do but why would i go back to someone who A. Did terrible and B. Also had very poor customer service

Extremely rude. I needed a replacement industrial barbell and was ignored as soon as I walked in and when I ask for help instead of helping me ask me what size I needed I said I didnt know just rolled his eyes at me. Will not be coming back.

Waited over an hour just to get 2 piercings. Not professional and people were bunching up outside of the room. Extremely rude and inconsiderate of others.
