I am so impressed with this shop! I’ve been to multiple different places for piercings and tattoos, yet this is the first one that made me feel comfortable! I appreciate their cleanliness & comfy atmosphere. Casey is very welcoming and friendly, very willing to make sure I got what I wanted. I absolutely recommend this place for piercings.

I got two tattoo shops done at this place after hearing so many good comments from others. The whole experience was a 10/10. Dalyla helped bring my two visions to life and made sure I was comfortable the whole time.

Received a tragus and forward helix piercing from Casey and couldnt be happier with the service. Great environment, super professional, comfortable, and safe service. Casey is friendly and will make you feel relaxed and stress free during your piercing. Went for a flash event, arrived an hour early and there was maybe 2 groups ahead of us. after the first group went in 5 minutes after opening, more expensive tattoos for artists apparently not participating in the flash were being peddled outside, as well as different piercings to pass the time. I shouldve left at this point.After we waited outside for an hour we asked if we could at least wait inside. We got our names on a waitlist and kept waiting. Every few hours we would ask what the expected time was only to be told a hot minute every time. While waiting in the lobby there were children running around, popping balloons, and shouting. I cant imagine this is a great environment for the artist or the canvas.After waiting for 6 hours we were told we could go home and wait to receive a call. Almost 3 hours after that we called in for an update to be told your names shouldve never been written down, maybe we can get to you in 2 hours This news after waiting for 9 hours already, and being strung along all day.After that we receive a call saying there was an emergency with the only participating artist, and our appointment could not be fulfilled.The artists seem great, but I would never recommend coming here for a flash event. One of the most unprofessional and poorly managed experiences Ive ever had in my life. Being told no at the beginning wouldve been leagues better, at least I wouldnt have wasted a Sunday in a tattoo parlor.Edit: we waited from 11am-8pm, this is a 9 hour period of time. I am not putting any blame on any artist, I am blaming the poor management and communication of the situation. If it was known that we shouldnt have been on the list at 1230 when we stepped inside, why was this information never given to us, not even a warning. We werent looking to get a tattoo from zephyrs flash though they are a great artist, and Im sure the price difference is valid. The artists arent machines, but if the capacity was known from the beginning it shouldve been communicated. I hope the artists emergency is taken care of and everything is okay, this was never contested in my review.And dont worry I wasnt planning on returning.

Amazing service! Everyone there was so nice, welcoming, and I had great conversations with them. I would definitely recommend getting your tattoo from Redwing Tattoo. They were professional, clean and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable.

First thing first, there was an emergency with the artist we wanted to get a flash event tattoo from. We respect that and understand things happen. Here’s what we didn’t understand:Several hours after waiting in our rightful place in line for a flash event I get told, “I’m gonna be 150% real with you, your names shouldn’t have even been written down, I told him not to write them down.”We were told we were in group 2 outside, okay, cool, a couple hours wait, that’s expected for a flash event. A lot of people in line outside behind us went in to sign up for a different date and time. We were the only two people still waiting outside. After seeing there were spots inside to wait, we went inside only to find out people in front of us had added more people to their group which I don’t think is fair since we had been waiting outside before shop open and their friends just cut the line. A couple times I asked for an expected time only to be told a vague answer. They let us leave to eat and come back to wait in our spot in line. After waiting inside for several more hours, I asked again for an expected time slot and gave them my phone number to call us when we could come back. I called 2 hours later to ask for an update after not receiving one and got the above quote, that we shouldn’t have even been put down.Here is our issue: Why write my number down if you knew we weren’t going to get in? Why let us wait for hours if you knew we weren’t going to get in? Why keep telling us a vague answer instead of being upfront at the beginning? We still wanted the tattoo and we’re willing to wait. Our time felt so disrespected.We were offered another day after i received a call 30 min later from someone else in the shop who was very kind, saying there was an emergency with the artists daughter. I respected that upfront answer and honesty so much. But after being strung along for our entire Sunday and being lied to by omission (before the emergency came up, again—we understand that!) we decided not to.Point blank, we would’ve rather been turned away when they knew we weren’t able to get us in than have had to wait with expectation. We respect the artists time and personal lives and don’t view them as “machines.” All we wanted was better communication.Edit after the reply from the owner:Thank you for your response.Im glad that y’all appreciated that we followed the rules & that there was an issue with people flooding the lobby and not knowing who was with who/where in the line.Casey was very kind in the shop when our names were put down and on the phone when we were informed of the emergency. I have no issues with him or the emergency, and like you said, things happen. I understand your point but our point was not about the emergency that came up at all, it was about the communication.For the vague answers regarding time, if it was calculated by the number of people in front of us and the larger estimate of time, say 45 min-1 hour per person, that could’ve given us the estimate we were asking for.In other flash events we’ve been to, people in line will be handed a ticket with a time slot or a number, so clients can come back at that time or wait for an update on social or through text that their ticket number is next. Tickets are only handed out for the first however many # of people as to not overbook the artists’ time for the day. Maybe this could help in future events for efficiency, no one cutting in line, and less room for confusion or miscommunication by either party.I hope that our experience can help for future flash event coordination to keep from people cutting in and other clients feeling cheated by those not following the rules, as well as giving people a sense that their spot is secure, as we felt that it wasn’t, because we didn’t have a clear answer for time and then were told our names never should’ve been put down (BEFORE the emergency). It just sucks.Y’all have dope artists and art or we wouldn’t have come at all! I genuinely wish the best for y’all and again appreciate the response.

Listen, I was 18 and Chris (I think?) tattooed over my white ink cross tattoo on my wrist..8 years later, my cross is still black and vibrant.Oh they also pierced my belly button lol.Good times, highly recommend this place 🥰

I have been visiting this shop for my Tattooing & Piercing needs for over 8 years and I have been fully satisfied with their work. Chel-C is an absolutely incredible artist who’s creativity knows no bounds. Chel-C has spent over a decade in the industry and the amount of attention to detail she provides is second to none! In addition, Casey has been very helpful and knowledgeable about my piercing aftercare needs. With his steady hands and beautiful Jewelry selection, I would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat.This shop is a must if you are near the Winona Mn area!

I have always experienced excellent customer service and high quality of work by almost every employee at this shop (I have only experienced the quality of work by a few of them but Im sure all provide just as high quality of service). Ive been there easily 10+ times for piercings, tattoos or simply purchasing jewelry. Casey pierced five of my facial piercings and I never had a problem with any of them (I actually only have problems with the ones I did not get pierced by him...). He is experienced with fainters, screamers, punchers-you name it, he can handle it. Unlike two other mouth piercings I received at other shops, all of the piercings he did were straight and perfectly positioned. All piercing advice I have received from everyone at this shop is standard for piercing advice across the board (what to use, what to avoid). Chelsea has now tattooed me twice and is always very friendly, open to ideas and provides honest feedback when you bounce ideas off of her. She is patient during the tattooing process (especially for people who get jumpy after the first hour) and does everything she can to make sure youre comfortable. Once a week I get the pleasure of a stranger asking me about my piece from her and I get to talk her up to people in the cities. It is very reasonably priced for the quality of work you get and I have and will continue to recommend anyone in the area to stop by Red Wing.

I took my 7 year old to get her ears pierced here. We walked in without an appointment and did not have to wait long. The staff was very informative, kind and gentle with both me and my daughter. I am very appreciative of the wonderful service and gentle nature with which we were treated. Thank you Casey and Red Wing Tattoo.

Awesome atmosphere , always feel welcome. Conversations are a blast, clean and safe to walk into, the art work is always amazing. Never disappointed. Piercings well I have many never had a problem with any of them . My favorite place to be . Feels like home to me !!!

Been coming to Red Wing Tattoo for years for piercings and tattoos and it just keeps getting better and better. Chel-C and Casey are super professional and extremely friendly. Casey talks through everything with his piercings and can make everyone comfortable. Chel-C is an amazing artist and every tattoo she does for me is better than the last. I dont think Ill ever want to go anywhere else and am constantly referring my friends to them.

Easily the best tattoo shop. I have been there for 30+ of my tattoo and would not trust my skin to anyone else. Chelsea is a phenomenon artist who actually puts art on you. She works with you and makes you so happy you could cry. Sweetest artist ever! Kevin who owns the shop is an awesome guy and is very fair woth pricing and quality! Clint and junior rock too! 15/10 would recommend!

I have had many tattoos done with these guys. I have also brought first tat friends here. They are clean and lots of fun and want you to enjoy your ink experience. Going back for another one soon, and taking a first tat friend with me. They make sure you know how to take care of your new ink, and Im bumming Im moving out of state and wont have these people near me!

While they’re appointment only ( which is totally understandable during these trying COVID times ) Casey / Chelsea / and company take great pride in their knowledge of their respective crafts. Been a long time since Ive been here but Dek did good work - its still here all these years later and looks great. Wasnt too harsh or anything as I went for a few hours each time and didnt need to quit or anything and the place was really inviting. I think it was Chelsea? that was in the booth next to me and she was really talkative and nice for one I remember last. Good experiences good rating.

I love this place and absolutely adore the staff! They are always so welcoming and professional. Ive had two tattoos by Junior and one by Dek and I love all three pieces so much! I recently went in today for a memorial tattoo for my friend in high school that recently passed away in a car accident, and Juniors work was absolutely amazing on it. You will not regret getting work done by them!

I made an appointment for a tattoo for a friend on 8/20. I was never told that ID was required or which type of ID was acceptable. We made it to the appointment on time only to find out she wouldnt do it because he didnt have identification (he had a picture of his current passport but apparently that wasnt acceptable). While there (in person) Chelsea stated she normally didnt refund but would refund our deposit. Then I emailed on 8/22 to ask how she was going to refund and come to find out she no longer was going to refund and wanted us to reschedule once he had proper identification. He had his tattoo done elsewhere that same day (8/20). So now were out on $50 because she doesnt want to accept her mistake, but would rather make the customer pay for it.

Always an amazing visit here. Just went for my third tattoo and I know Ill never go anywhere else. The staff is polite, they give great advice, and theyre patient. My tattoo artist is Junior, a phenomenal guy who really takes pride in his work. Check them out first if youre thinking of getting a tattoo.

After an incredibly terrible experience here with a certain artist, the owner reached out and did everything he could to fix the damage that was done. He had the work redone, and even paid. Overall a wonderful experience and would definitely go here again. If you go here, Id recommend going to Chelsea, as she does amazing work.

All I needed was to get my jewelry put back in my flat. I understand that it is appointment only. However for something like this, that would take a minute, i found it rude and unprofessional to not do it. Especially as this is the only place in Winona that does piercings. I ended up driving to la crosse to get it put back in and it took less than a minute even though they too were fully booked. Im sure the facility is very nice and clean but this experience makes me not was to consider them for any future piercings or tattoos.

I knew when it came time to get my daughters ears pierced, I didnt want to take her to the mall and get it done with a piercing gun. I brought her to Red Wing Tattoo, and it was a great experience! Casey was so patient with her, even when she started crying and saying she changed her mind. He took his time, explained everything to her, and showed her what he was going to do before he did it. He even had suckers for her which helped her calm down a little. She ended up going through with it and couldnt be happier with her earrings. All of the staff we interacted with while we were there were polite and professional. I highly recommend this place.

I came for moral support when my cousin went to get her nose pierced... overall LOVED the atmosphere and Casey’s energy was absolutely welcoming and refreshing. Definitely will come back for my own piercing next time!

It was a decent place. I was helped right away and they were all friendly. Wifi went down so I had to use the ATM which charged me and it was pretty pricey. For one cartilage it cost me $50. I was originally thinking about getting three so he told me it would be $70 but then I changed my mind to just one and I wasnt told the price until after. Good experience but prices higher than any of my other piercings for the same quality (hopefully considering I just got it).

Clint did matching tattoos for my sister and I. They text to confirm the appointment but texted the wrong number for me and cancelled my appointment. I wish I had known to expect that. When my sister and I arrived we were told that our appointment was cancelled and had already been filled with someone else. Clint came out at that point and was able to work us in within an hour. We are happy with our tattoos and with Clint but having our appointment cancelled when I didnt even know they would send a confirmation text was frustrating.

Casey is an expert at what he does and is very informative before beginning a piercing. He answered all my questions thoroughly and made for a super relaxed experience!

I got a tattoo from Junior yesterday. It is fantastic. So appreciative of the great job. Dont forget to tip your artist. Seriously. Be cool. Their putting something on your body that will be their for the rest of your life. That would be too much pressure for me. Also, I am blown away on how freakishly fast it is healing. Judge for yourself. Its only been 28 hours since I left their shop.

I emailed them for a piercing appointment on the 22nd of September and eventually scheduled for October 8th at 1pm. When I showed up for my appointment and called they told me I wasn’t on the schedule for today. They found my email and told me that they either missed it or it got “lost” in the system despite them sending me a “sounds good” after confirming the appointment time. I was unable to get my piercings. Clerical error but felt rude and unprofessional.

I love this tattoo parlor, they are very professional and really listen to what you want done. They are always the best priced and very friendly. I love the free touch ups and the fact that you fell like family there. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice piece of artwork.

I had a horrible experience with a certain artist here. The owner of the shop reached out to me and I made a new appointment to fix what I had done. My new piece looks amazing, and I couldnt be happier. What great customer service, I will for sure be a return customer, and would recommend ChelC to anyone!!

I got a helix piercing in april 2022. When I went to get my piercing changed by another piercer, they said it was the worst piercing they had seen and extremely crooked. In the process of changing out the earring she found a keloid that had developed and struggled to remove the earring.

Great work, very professional and nice. Great communication. Dalyla did a great job on a couple new tattoos today. Will go back again.

Cant speak for the quality of their tattoos, but terrible customer service. I gave them pictures of my tattoo idea and was told I would have a sketch in a few days. Nearly three weeks later they still have nothing started, even though Ive called to follow up on their progress. Very unprofessional experience and a waste of time.

Up until about ( 6 ) six weeks ago i would have given this place a ( 5+ ) rating. But my Patience has ran out. This place has gone from excellence Customer Service to the Worsted ive seen in a long long time. My Nephew & I have been coming here for years to have ( Kevin ) do my Nephews Tattoos both of which turned out ( Excellence ) with excellence follow up. Then we found out ( Kevin ) had Retirement. So we talked to another person ( JR ) we showed him a photo of a item we wanted him to do adrawing of, he got my name & phone number & said he would text me the complete drawing so we could make a decision & get back to him. Since then ive called, stopped in & left messages . The times ive talked to him hes always promised he would get right back to me with the drawing. When ive left messages Always No response back. Me and my nephew sure miss ( Kevin ).. and the Excellence service...
