I absolutely LOVE how my tattoo for my third baby has turned out. It still has a couple of weeks left to heal, but it turned out exactly how I envisioned it. Shea was my artist & did a great job of communicating with me about how I wanted it to look. I wanted a certain type of cedar tree, not photo realistic, with added tree roots & his name in a script font. I couldn’t have come up with that on my own, so I’m glad she was able to take the reigns on it. She has an ultra light touch, too. Although it went over my collarbone, not once did it hurt. Highly recommend her for your artist, ESPECIALLY if you love color tats, cuz that’s more her specialty. I appreciate her understanding that I am not a color tattoo person though, lol! You will not be disappointed going to ANY of the tattoo artists at Above the Clouds. They all bring something special & skillful to the tattooing table. Photos are taken one week apart.I have also gone to Audrey there, to tattoo the design my daughter drew up for me a couple of years ago. She was able to squeeze me in on an impulse decision to finally get the tat, & I super appreciated that! Audrey also had an incredibly light touch, as the design was on my wrist, & it also did not hurt at all. She was even able to clean up the lines of my daughter’s work, so that it looked perfect. It has since healed wonderfully, & I’m so grateful to her for bringing my daughter’s vision to life. Photo of it about 4 days post tattooing.

We meet Barrett at a local store. My girlfriends son saw barretts hair and said hello to her. He now calls her his tattoo fairy godmother. She has done all of our work. She is one of the kindest ladys we have known. She is obsessed with cleanliness and is very soft handed. She is a true artist so if you think you can bully her into something she doesnt want to do then think again. She also has no problem calling people on bull@$%. Most of the negative reviews I see on here are people who have fabricated their own drama. This a family shop nothing more.

I meet the owner of Above the clouds tattoo about 8 years ago when I came into her first shop in woodland, I came in for a piercing! Barrett was just a cool chill person and I LOVED seeing her work!! At the time, I had 0 tattoos on my body, but kept going to her shop for more holes in my body, lol.I just won a tattoo Gift card from RXP, $100 towards a tattoo from Above the clouds tattoo!I was super pumped!!I immediately messaged Barrett and was like hey! Yes! How cool! Told her my tattoo idea and she had me message the shop to get it all set up!Now, I did not get my tattoo from Barrett the time around, because the piece I got is ittybitty, BUT she has an amazing apprentice named Audrey, who rocked out our tattoos! Oh! I dragged my husband along for matching tats!

Last week was my first trip to Above the Clouds and I was tattooed by Shea, first off this shop is badass. The decor and art pieces around the shops interior are amazing. 10/10 its the vibe.Secondly, Shea was a fantastic artist to work with again on a custom piece (I already have one of her flash designs tattooed as well), I am starting on a half sleeve and Shea took my wild idea and ran with it and made it into something I was massively impressed with. She took the time to make sure I liked my design and plan it out with me to make sure I was 1000% satisfied, during the tattoo she made sure I was comfortable and took breaks when things got overwhelming for me (I am a big baby). Overall we had good conversations and she was amazing and sooo friendly!Overall this shop and my artist were amazing and I cant wait to come back and get my color started. Totally worth the trip up from the springs.

His work was incredible and she loves her tattoo. The shop was clean and everyone there was so nice. Elsa did my husband and Is wedding date tattoos and I love them!! Shes so soft handed and the atmosphere was great. Will definitely be coming back next time we are in Colorado!

Shea is the best. She takes her time to make sure you are getting the piece you want, even down to the placement. She is so talented and creative, I always love getting tattooed by her. She is professional and bubbly so it makes the whole tattoo process so comfortable!

Nothing but great things to say about this place! I was stopping through Colorado on vacation and wanted a tattoo. They ended up having cancellations and could accommodate a walk in. The owner and the staff are all welcoming and there for any questions you have. I got tatted by the apprentice, Talon. Absolutely amazing!! I got my nose pierced here and it was incredible, everyone was so kind and made sure I knew exactly what was going on the whole time so there were no unwelcome surprises. I LOVE my piercing and it looks so good! I even fainted when I was paying (not the fault of anyone there, I think just because this is my first piercing other than my ears) and everyone took such good care of me and went above and beyond to make sure I was okay, including making sure I had a safe ride home. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a piercing!!

Talon was a great tattoo artist. He did great work and was a great guy to talk to as well. The only bad thing was that we kept talking about stupid silly things while he was tatting and it was hard to keep from laughing cause I didnt want to mess him up. Will def go back. Place was clean and the equipment was new and I would recommend this place to anyone who asks.

Talon did a small tattoo on my arm that I dont like showing now that its healed. This was the first shop I had visited since moving here. When the owner learned this she bragged about not needing a liscense to tattoo in Colorado which I found to be strange behavior to a new client. Talon did not fully clean the skin after the tattoo, or at all really, and then it got very infected and painful about a day later. Its now splotchy and not good looking and I need to get it fixed.

While visiting Colorado I decided to drop in and get a floral piece on my wrist. They were able to fit me in at the very last minute, which I thought was great but overall I’m not satisfied with the tattoo itself. The details and line work could’ve been better considering it took almost three hours to complete. For the price I paid, I could’ve gotten something better. Aside from minor issues with my work, I’d say the staff was very friendly and accommodating. This was my personal experience with black/white work. I’d recommend them for colored pieces and watercolors.

My sister and I were hoping to get tattoos while on our vacation and the shop was beyond accommodating fitting us in and making it happen.The staff was very welcoming when we got there and made sure we got what we wanted.My pieces were done by Talon who is doing his apprenticeship. He was great to work with and was very attentive to every step of his work.If youre looking to get something while in the area, definitely stop here!

An entire group of friends went to this shop and the front desk guy was nice enough to see if his boss would give us a small discount if we all got tattoos (7 of us). We are from Texas and the highest cover charge we have experienced here is $100. Theirs was $120 so we thought we would just ASK since there was so many of us! The guy came back with his boss and she was so rude about it. a simple sorry girls, we cant do that would have been fine but she continued on to rant and say the most. We were there for the bride & she was going to continue with her tattoo until the boss made another rude comment & BASICALLY kicked us out. We told the front desk guy to cancel the draw up & we left. Horrible customer service. The way you speak to people goes a long way & we didnt need an entire rant from the rude lady! Had she of not been so rude & petty she could have made the shop at least $800 but instead she got $0 :) her loss, not ours. we took our business elsewhere! ill give it one star for the guy at the front desk!

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!! A million stars! Everyone is so kind and caring. The environment is safe and VERY clean! Barrett is so wonderful and honest with you about everything from design to placement to after care. Her line work is spot on and she has an exceptional eye for detail. The whole shop has a friendly and inviting energy to it and it does not take long to feel welcome. I have the utmost respect for the values this shop has and Barrett and her apprentices are definitely pioneers in this field, because not only are they keeping the rich history of tattooing alive they are pushing the way for new(and especially female) artists to breakthrough. Needless to say, I found a new permanent shop.

Shiloh was very informative and kind! She knew what she was doing and did it well! Will return to get a horizontal eyebrow piercing next. This time I got another nose piercing re-pierced.. thxs girl :)

Super clean shop, very friendly staff all the way around. More importantly my artist, Tyler, was SO patient and SO understanding through the entire process. He helped me design the tattoo when I told him what I was looking for and he worked with me through the pain and helped to make a side piece as comfortable as you can. I got a tattoo from Barrett and it honestly came out horrible! The colors weren’t what I asked for and the image that I brought her for reference was nothing like what she did. She was very heavy handed and went super deep and I was visibly swollen for at least a week. I’ve had other tattoos before and I know what to expect when it comes to healing and afterburn and so forth so I’m not just saying this from being inexperienced. It took two years for me to fade through laser tattoo removal enough to get a coverup done by a different artist.

I when to shea she was a super cool person to work with we get along well and I loved the work she did one me I would 10 out of 10 recommend going to her if you are in woodland park and want to get a tattoo

I was pretty disappointed. All the reviews on here say the new piercer is amazing, but not for me. At first when I called, the person I spoke to did not seem too excited to talk to me. A friend and I scheduled an appointment that day, which I was so happy about getting since it was last minute and COVID. We arrived and the atmosphere in the lobby, a little intimating. The piercer and I went back after them getting my information, she started amazing. Super nice explaining what she was going to do and what she needed me to do. Everything went well until she cut me in the middle of the ear. She then charged me full price. The cut bleed for five hours. Upon further inspection she did not clean the site after piercing me.

I wanted to use professionals for my daughters first ear piercings. I heard it’s better than using those mall shops with the guns. First impression was great, as the staff was immediately professional enough to answer my questions, without even knowing for sure I would be new business. Next day, they had my daughter and another young girl getting piercings, and the staff was so friendly and kind. They answered the questions the girls had (after already talking with parents) and made sure it was their decision to get the piercings. It’s was very important to me, and seemed to be to them, the the child wants them! My daughter had been asking for over a year, but I wanted to be sure she understood what it would require (almost 7 at time of piercing). Neither my daughter, or the other girl, even let out a tear. Both felt at ease with the professionals here. My daughter did whimper a bit after the second one, but quickly felt at ease again. They made sure to check that both sides looked even and had parents confirm etc. Gave a great after care sheet, and even discussed it with parent/child. Would recommend, without a doubt!

Got my nipples pierced and they were so professional and accurate! I would definitely recommend them for piercings! Will definitely be coming back. The staff was very cool and friendly. If I could give 10 stars I would!

Audrey is AMAZING! Everyone I met was so nice and friendly, and I felt so at ease for the few hours I was there. Audrey designed a gorgeous tattoo and definitely went above and beyond my expectations! Definitely worth the drive from the springs imo!!!

Ive gotten several tattoos done by the owner. She is AMAZING. I had a surgery 7 years ago that left me with extensive scaring. Barrett was extremely professional with the placement and design of the tattoo that covers it. You cant even tell that I had scars! Ill never go anywhere else for my work. This is not the type of shop you can just go in and point at a design a million other people have. Everything is 100% custom.

Elsa saw me for a full session. She took my ideas and turned it into a beautiful piece of art. She has unbelievable talent. I recommend seeing her if you’re looking for someone to bring your ideas to life. She listened to me and what I wanted, but educated me about tattoos and placement as well. She has a great personality and very professional. The entire team there are all truly wonderful people.

Very friendly staff and great experience. It was my first tattoo and Buddha made me feel at ease and did a great job. He also touched up my boyfriends tattoo and it looked amazing. He made it look so much better than the original. Would definitely recommend him and will be returning.

Me and a buddy from the camp I work at walked in almost on a whim. We shared our idea with Tyler and he really helped us turn it into a great tattoo that would last. Super great customer service, really honest artist. Also Tyler is the fastest tattooer in the West! Would highly recommend. Will be back in the future.

I recently got a bunch of tattoos at once by tyler and he did awesome! He was very friendly and very educated. He knew exactly what he was doing and my tattoos turned out beautifully! Hes also very quick and light handed which made the process go smoothly. The shop was clean and neat. 10/10. Would highly recommend!

Big disappointment in professionalism, but tattoo was fine. Scheduling was handled poorly. They seemed surprised to see me. Started about 45 minutes after I scheduled, due to the artist being out to dinner and smoking cigarettes. She only gave me the choice of doing one tattoo, which doing two small tattoos in the hour were discussed on the phone. My husband bought a gift certificate for one hour of tattooing. She worked for about 20-25 minutes on everything, including set-up and tattoo. I also left smelling of cigarettes. They would not let me reschedule the second tattoo. The gift certificate that was purchased for $80 was only good one time!! No exceptions. She got paid $80 for EIGHT LETTERS. The entire tattoo was just barely over 1 x 1 inch. They offered us nothing, just gave excuses. Wont return.

I got a beautiful chest piece by tattoo artist, Jimmy! Jimmy did an amazing job for both me and my boyfriend. Ive gone to Above the Clouds Tattoo every since they first opened and am very satisfied with my tatts, piercings, and staff! Great place to go! ♡♡♡

Because of Covid, there were several guidelines in place. Regardless, I had an incredibly positive experience here. Shannon was super awesome in giving me my first piercings. She was super nice and very informative. I plan on coming back in the future!

I went here for a small tattoo in April of 2021 with my sister. I loved our experience so much that I went back to get my sleeve done. Even unfinished the amount of compliments Ive gotten is insane! I will not go anywhere else for my tattoos.

I walked into Above the Clouds tattoo on a Friday afternoon and had my septum pierced by Jen. I have to say it was the most professional and friendly experience Ive ever had in a tattoo/piercing shop. She did an amazing job, hurt less than any other piercing Ive had (my 6th other than my ears) and is healing nicely. I will be recommending this place!! Thank you!

Look no further. Talon pierced my daughters nose. He was incredible with her and it made all the difference. She said, he really helped me relax and he was so patient.

I went in today before work to get my seconds done on my ears, Shannon Downes did my ears for me! She let me come in a few minutes early because she knew I had to go to work. She was super nice and got everything done so fast but made sure to do it correctly! I would highly recommend her!!

I called the shop & asked what time they closed & they said 9. So I went there at 8 to get a nose piercing & they said the piercer had just left. So then a couple days later I called & asked when the piercer was going to be there & they said from 3 to 8 or 9ish. So I went at 7. & they told me she had just left.. Even though they told me she was going to be there until 8 or 9. Its all around bad service over there. Both times when I walked in, we got no greeting or recognition. Just a few tattoo artist standing around talking to each other. I do not at all recommend this place. They may have good prices but theyre not the kind of company I would give my money to.

Ok I reviewed this shop awhile back. They had a different piercer then and I wasnt very happy. Well the other week i jad Shannon pierce my lip and she done an amazing job. Clean, quick, curtious. I will definately be going back!!

I won a tattoo on the radio , so I went in before the end of the month to get it .They had put an expiration date in the middle of the month...a couple days earlier.I dive up from North East Colorado Springs to talk to them about it.I was the only customer and 3 employees and was told sorry you should have called.We are not doing your tattooYou would think they would at least want tip cash and word of mouth advertising since they are giving these away to bring business 🙄(I will update this post if they care to make it right)

Ignore that stupid one star idiot. TIFFANY DOESNT WORK THERE. This is an ex bf thats been harassing the shop.The whole shop is superbly clean, the owner is fabu, and the prices are killer. The piercer, Jack, is a professional and does amazing work and she is extremely CLEAN about everything. Ive had several piercings from her, and recently got my conch done with absolutely no complaints.

Barretts color techniques are really incredible. She reimagined a large back piece Ive had for 4 years that needed transformation and serious color. We have done session 1 of 3. She is patient & kind. All the gals in the shop have such fun character, I enjoyed my experience and look forward to my next session.

10+ years ago I got a pretty crappy tattoo, and the last few years I have considered getting it removed or covered up. I came to Above the Clouds Tattoo and talked to Tyler, gave him my collage of ideas and what I was looking for for the cover up. I dont have a picture available of the original tattoo , but he made an awesome sketch for me. He even sketched in some color so I got a better idea of what the finished product would look like. Above the Clouds Tattoo is super clean inside and never felt uncomfortable in there at all. In a few months I plan on getting a piercing and would definitely go to them for that or another tattoo.

Shannon went above and beyond to help me keep replace my dermal. I am so happy with the outcome. Would highly recommend getting any piercings placed or removed @ Above the Clouds.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Talon at Above the Clouds Tattoo. I had a tattoo touched up and a new one added to it. He did an amazing job, and was very professional. He took his time and made sure I was happy with what he was tattooing every step of the way.

Great service. Did a piercing on my daughters cartilage inher upper ear. She said she barely felt anything. They made sure to ask for proper IDs for me and a birth certificate for my daughter and made sure I knew what to do for care.

I went for some piercings. I got the daith and tragus piercings in my ears. The tragus piercing wasnt bad at all...I mean it didnt hurt like I thought it would. The daith piercing on the other hand, now thats a different story. That SOB hurt! Great customer service! Shannon was the bomb! She knows exactly what she is doing.

I stopped in while driving by to get a tattoo of a Colorado columbine flower. Tyler was available immediately and I was getting Inkd in no time. He did a great job, listened to my request(s) and was no premadonna Thank God! I got what I wanted ,where I wanted and Tyler freaking nailed it! I have gotten my septum and now an industrial here and I absolutely love it. The workers are professional and so kind. I love the atmosphere and the people. Will definitly be going back for future piercings.

They pierced my nipples the piercer was an amazing woman she was so nice and made me feel comfortable but didnt tell me when she was gonna stab the first one so I jumped lol

Oh my gosh!! Talk about amazing experience! I went in today to get a spider bite(2 small peircings on my bottom lip) today was trevers kick off day, talk about so professional and kind and super clean. I will so be back for more work!!!!!!!!

Very very poor quality from one of Barretts employees at above the clouds, or maybe the whole shop has bad quality from what Ive heard. He was very heavy handed (Ive had multiple tattoos including my hip bone and wrist and none of them were this bad) the lining is very poor and not realistic and doesnt even match the picture I gave them, he couldnt even make the rope around the tattoo actually look like a rope. There are many blank spots on the lining which is ridiculous, the lines do not even line up realistically and when they do there is a giant gap between it, I was supposed to go back to have them color it but I will definitely be taking my money to a real tattoo shop. I gave them a job and money and they messed up my body permanently. So clearly they dont have the experience they need and customers should not be their practice dummy. I would recommend taking the extra time to drive to Colorado Springs and find a REAL artist. This shop is a joke! Attached is the tattoo I wanted and the tattoo I got. You should be ashamed Barrett.

Piercer is super nice and fast. Recieved multiple piercings here. Recieved one tattoo that I always get compliments on, unfortunately the artist doesnt work there any more.
