Fear Factor Tattoos and Piercings

I’ve had my dermals for about 4 years now and the after care and healing process along with losing one due to a dog scratch this place will be with you all the way. Even extracting a dermal when it comes down to it. I will always recommend this place for piercings!

Gotten my septum pierced here twice (not for their fault but mine) about 3 years ago. They helped me fix my problem so I did not need to get it for a third time. Misty was amazing. Recently got my nose pierced (by another shop) and I was getting a bump and then accidentally pulled out the piercing during sleep, could not get it back in due to pain or out due to build up from my bump. But it was a blessing in disguise because it was the wrong piercing to start with (too short actually angled wrong) and was causing my issues, I was informed. Misty helped me get the right piercing. Gave me great instructions on how to heal it and told me to come back if needed. Also answered some questions had about other piercings. Highly recommend going there for your next piercing. Plus I just love the atmosphere there and loved Misty’s style for sure.

Misty is absolutely amazing! She is so sweet, welcoming, and so reassuring!!! I was a big baby the two times I went and she was so calming! No judgment at all!! Also the cashier guy is super sweet! He walks you through everything! So all in all it was an amazing experience and I will go there forever!!!

I just got my nose pierced they did it good and fast and the place is very comforting there and they are really nice people and i love there work!

I am so disappointed in my tattoo. My sisters and I went in to get matching tattoos when I was in town on July 14th and it looks awful. I’ve never had a tattoo look this way. The only part of the tattoo that has color won’t have any by the time it heals. I live 11 hours away and can’t even go back in to have them make this right. I can’t believe I had to pay $130 for this.

I had Richard and his skills were incredible, He did really well on my cover up after my first tattoo by someone else was screwed up so bad and so deep it created scar tissue. Richard was Patient, Funny, and just an all around understanding and outgoing guy who did an outstanding job on my cover up. The whole team was friendly and polite, They made me feel welcome and like family. 10/10

I had spent $110 to get my nips pierced just for the lady to make them uneven. She was literally shaking while pushing the needle in. I had to take them out after they were done healing because I didn’t like how you could tell that the piercing’s were crooked. When she placed the dots with the marker it was even on both sides but the lighting was horrible so I can understand how she might have missed the dots but, Thank you for this horrible experience. Be sure to talk to the piercer before you walk in a just get the piercing. Piercings are supposed to make you feel more confident with yourself and when I left that shop I lost a lot of confidence. 💔

I have been here several times and I always loved it, got two cartilage piercings and an industrial. When I got my industrial I ended up passing out (I had a reaction to the piercing, the piercer did great) the dude ringing us up saw a was passing out and falling backwards managed to get around the counter fast enough and caught me before I fell! He then picked me up ( I was 165lbs at the time) and put me on the couch in the lobby till I came to and gave me a free bottle of water and let me sit there for as long as I needed. Absolutely great people there and I come here every time!!! 10/10 definitely recommend them!!!

Went in for a jewelry change and new piercing almost 3 months ago. The shop was clean and welcoming, the piercer was clean and professional. My only complaint is that she used jewelry too small for the piercing and so it still hasnt healed. Im having to do ice packs and ibuprofen to get the swelling down so I can swap the jewelry for something longer so it can heal. Not cool.

I got 8 piercings done here by Misty and she is wonderful! For my 3rd lobe set, she took the time to actually measure my earlobe so they would be exactly the same on each side. The entire staff is always super friendly, helpful, and supportive. I will always recommend them and always return.

Cant walk in and get a tattoo without appointments . They dont act like they need or want your business. Not a lot of creative suggestions when it comes to color matching for skin tone or blending

Worst place in town to get a tattoo, the customer service is awful, richards son cussed at me while I was trying to explain how senior Richard messed up my tattoo. all I needed was one line fixed and he wouldn’t even do that after over charging me for a 60 dollar tattoo. Would not recommend anyone to ever go over there this isn’t the first time he’s messed up on a tattoo he has done. I definitely want my money back because the whole expo was awful. Clearly in the picture you can see where the issue is.

I went for a piercing there; it was my first time ever visiting. It was very clean and nicely setup inside. I had called before to make sure there was a piercer there and I was grateful they were able to fit me in before she left. My piercing was done quick, easily and professionally. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and I noticed that especially as I had never gotten a body piercing before.

Customer service was great! Got my tongue pierced for my 18th birthday, my piercer was amazing as well and even other customers in the shop were friendly.

I got my lower helix pierced and my friend got here rook and her tragus pierced. Both of us are healing great, and the lady who did our ears was a sweetheart! Would definitely go back again

Fear Factor Tattoos and Piercings is where we go for all our piercings (and tattoos if we got them). They are very friendly and knowledgeable. I couldnt recommend any place more than Fear Factor!!!Misty, who does all of my piercings, is absolutely amazing! I went in a couple of days ago because I was having a problem with my gold nose ring and she fixed it right up with no questions asked about what I had done.

I got 5 new piercings one evening and the piercer was so nice and helpful when it came to explaining her placement, ring options once i can change them, and my aftercare instructions. If you want a piercing, I recommend Fear Factor. My total came out to $99. $22 for each cartilage piercing and $33 for the two new lobe piercings. Im so happy with my results and they are healing well.

We came in and got matching tattoos. This was supposed to be a lightning bolt, its less than 2 weeks old. We were the last customer of the night, they wanted to leave to go watch the fight. I didnt feel a thing and I think its obvious I didnt because he dont go deep enough or try. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, great artists. But this was not a good experience. I have about $2k worth of ink on my body and this is the one tattoo I have that I would say isnt worth the $60 charged for less than 5 minutes of time. Definitely not worth the top we left. These two tattoos cost pretip $120, and with corrections will cost $220 minimal. Most expensive item on my body smaller than a quarter, absolutely not worth it.

Love this shop. Misty is definitely the best in town. Retail is the best selection you find out here and probably anywhere that isnt just piercing. Richard and Richie are amazing at what they do. Definitely should be anyones next stop for their piercing and tattoo needs.

I have very mixed feelings about this place. Its a beautiful shop, and they do gorgeous tattoos, but be careful with the piercings. This was my first time getting a body piercing, and i got my belly button pierced. I did not see her open the needle, I just saw it sitting on her work station, so I dont know if it was used or not. I pray it wasnt. It felt like she poked around with the needle halfway through my skin, causing some pretty ugly and painful bruising, and it still came out crooked. She did a pretty bad job at explaining aftercare too. One pro: it was only $20 to get my belly button pierced, and the nice jewelry was also about $20. Just be cautious. I give three stars because their tattoos are amazing, but I dont highly recommend for piercings. Also, Ive been to places that include cleaning kits. This place doesnt. Its a separate purchase. You can buy a vial of salt to mix with water for $5 or a bottle of sterile saline for $10

I have had two tattoos done at this shop. Richie Jr did a heart awareness ribbon in support of my grandsons heart condition. Josh Napier did my memorial tattoo in memory of my brother. Between the cleanliness, Everyone being friendly, and amazing tattoo artists I would say this is your go to place. I know I wont be going anywhere else. Each Tattoo Artist has their own technique and style that you will be satisfied with. It nice seeing that each of them are supportive towards each other. 100% My favorite place!!!

Very nice people! My girlfriend got her lip piercing stuck and they were able to fix it for her with no cost and it was extremely fast! It was a lady that helped her and she did a good job! 👍👍👍 - they also have very affordable piercings. Thank you

Came in to get the other side of my nose pierced, symmetrical to the other side and the piercer did such an amazing job! She spent a long time making sure they were going to be symmetrical from all angles, and the peircing proccess was easy and quick. Very happy with the outcome. Very clean work station and it was reasonably priced. My boyfriend got his ears done and she marked and pierced them with the same amount of thoroughness. Definitely coming here for any future piercings.(They also have amazing prices on jewelry as well)

Amazing service and very calming and comforting scenery

Got 4 ear piercings roughly 6 months ago. All of them have developed MASSIVE keloids. I had to completely remove 2, in hopes of saving the piercing I tried putting a different earring and have to move it all around to find the exit hole as the piercings weren’t don’t straight through. So, out of my 4 I only have 2 left. Not 100 percent sure those will be able to stay either.

The shop was very clean, and everyone was friendly. Josh Napier did my tattoo, and he is excellent! Very professional, kind, and passionate about his art. I highly recommend him and will be back!

Usually fully booked for weeks. Piercing technician usually arrives at 2pm if youre looking to get a piercing. They sell jewelry that is SAFE for your piercing so it is a little more expensive, but its the good quality stuff so its worth it.

Great place! Got my septum done about a year ago from the female piercer, and just got my sons ears pierced, shes great with kids and awesome at what she does! Very professional place.

Misty is absolutely wonderful shes done piercings shes very honest about the wait time and she doesnt pressure you I had to deal with another tattoo place and werent very nice about a mess up they had done and she fixed it she took all the pressure off I love this place I will never go anywhere else again thank you all so much

Disappointed...my friend and I went to get a piercing after she called to make sure we could. We get there and was told they dont do piercing till 6:30 to come back and this was at 5. We went to Happy Dragon and Kevin got us in right away. We love our piercings. Thanks Happy Dragon!

They are always very busy which I suppose speaks for itself. I have gone here a few times for different jewelry. The first time I wanted a new Lebrae ring and they put 1 in that was to short. I told them it wasnt going to work. They left it and 3 days later the ring had sunk into my lip and skin had completely grown over it! I had to rip it out! I went back and they put the proper size in! I went here recently and bought another lebrae. I wanted to make sure the 1 incident did not happen again so I asked them to make sure and give me the same length that I currently had in. Well this one is to long lol. It sticks out to far. I use an 8. The 1st x they put a 6 in and this x a 10. I did go back but it was going to be like a 2 hour wait for them to help put it in. They did however give me the right length bar! I cant put it in myself but they tried!

Not happy. I came in about a month ago and had them change out my tragus piercing that Ive had for 8 years because its hard to do myself. They put in a VERY SHORT piece and I ended up having to go to another place to get it removed because it got infected & started going in inside my ear & bleeding. She had to use pliers with her finger shoved in my ear & it took about 10 minutes to get it out.

Umm, quite rude. Vibes were off, as my girlfriend went to go get her industrial done, I followed. No one stopped me, and I politely stood outside the booth, as I understand giving space and being quiet to let them do their job. The piercer said nothing, but a different guy walked up real close to me and said quite rudely I would have to wait in the main room. Bc the vibes were hostile and I wanted my girl to be able to get pierced, I complied, but did not feel comfortable. There was a sign that said no extra people allowed in the booth yes, but nothing about waiting outside the booth, to keep watch and for support. This was just sketchy that I wasn’t allowed to watch, for accountability and safety, and it wasn’t because of Covid (we are low risk for covid rn and no one was wearing masks). The piercing was clean, and I was relieved. Vibes were stupid hostile and unfriendly tho. Would not go back.

The staff are just awesome! I needed help with a piercing I got out of town and even though it was just before closing time they had me come in and fixed me up! Misty was so helpful and I now know where I will be going locally from now on!

Ian did an amazing job creating an Awesome custom piece!!! I will definitely be going back to him for all my other work in the future! They were very discerning on the placement as well; after all, a great piece of art can look bad if its just slapped on and done.

I got a tattoo from Richard when he worked in a different shop. He is such a good artist. He did things with my tattoo that I hadnt even considered and I was pleasantly surprised. It is one of my favorite tattoos. I also got my nose pierced at Fear Factor. The shop is clean and the staff is very helpful. Ive also seen him do two tattoos other than my own and they are both fantastic. I will be going back to Fear Factor.

Im leaving my original review below. I am hurt and mad about a policy regarding touch ups to tats they have done. Especially with Covid going on this year. I got a tat in late June of a cover up. I was told before my session was over that I would need to come in for a touch up because you can still see the cover up and it would be a $20 sitting fee. When I called a few weeks ago, I was told the touch up for $20 had to be done within a month of my tattoo and now would be regular price of a sitting. ($350)... Keep in mind it took me 3 weeks to get on the schedule for a tattoo in the first place... Also, I DO NOT REMEMBER him saying this or I would have went ahead and set an appoint up because we knew it needed a touch up and it already took 3 weeks to get in! I would have made the appointment right then before even leaving as I paid out!!! Plus I had an employee who lost his daughter in a fire the day or so before I got the tat and we had to plan her funeral and fundraiser for her final expenses!!! I have asked for proof I signed something to this affect, but was told it would take weeks for them to find it and Misty sent me a blank one!!! Over all very disappointed and have lost 2 friendships over this with Richard Senior and his wife, Misty, that I have been supporting and recommending their business for well over 10 years from the original tat I bonded with them from Richard senior.. Just disappointed how unprofessional and money hungry they are now... I guess my words below where a facade. They dont care about you Or your tat!!!Original review begins below...Amazing artists, that truly care about your tat and put their heart into their art. Richard gave me a tat almost 10 years ago that is still shining like a Rockstar. Richey gave me a tat a month ago that is out of this world, and he did it freehanded. A true original.

I dropped in to get some jewelry changed and the staff was extremely friendly. They have a huge jewelry selection and reasonable prices. The shop is immaculate and has a wonderful Deep Ellum vibe! I won’t be going anywhere else for jewelry or piercings.

My daughter got her belly pierced here. They were very quick and professional. It healed very nice with no infection. Very pleased with all service.

I had a good experience, but bad results. I got an industrial piercing on my right ear, and I later had to have it taken out because it was improperly placed and would never heal right. The customer service was great, but I would not recommend this place based on my experience.

One star for effort. Cant say much about the rest. The girl was tweaking so bad she couldnt stand herself. Told me to come back at a certain time. Came back and she was 30 mins late because she got caught up shopping. Got help with a piercing issue I had, but the gauge was smaller than the actual piercing and it got all screwed up. Piercing closed. Would definitely not recommend.

Best tattoos and piercings in town as far as ive been witness to and very professional staff, artists for sure. The Parlor was super clean which is second on my list only after a knowledgeable artist. Overall i will be using Fear Factor for an entire sleeve and back piece.

If you want drilled, Richard can do it. Got a scar and tattoo at same time. His artistic work is good, but definitely heavy handed. Was tattooed on inside of my forearm, on a sunny day you can see the tattoo on the top of my forearm !!!

Walked in for piercings, they were very busy today for piercings. Took about 35 minutes wait, done in 5 minutes. Great place
