Absolutely coming back! McKenna did a wondeful Skelanimal tattoo for me. I struggle with communication in terms of piercings or tattoos, but she made me comfortable, which helped a lot. Great work, absolutely a perfectionist, and easy to talk to. Cant wait until I can book with her again!

Decided to come here after looking around for a little bit to get my first tattoo. McKenna was awesome she was very welcoming and the last thing from intimidating. It really helped ease my nervous and really feal as comfortable as possible. Definitely will be back to get more work done!

Mckenna is so talented. The studio is clean, tastefully designed, and comfortable. Mckenna made me feel so comfortable and the finished product was even better than I expected. I’ve been to see Mckenna at Mourningstar Blackworks for 14 plus tattoos. She specializes in fine line work and that’s for a reason, she’s IMPECCABLE at line work. Which if you’re into tattoos at all, you know is hard to fine. Not to mention she is neurodivergent friendly and will make you as comfortable as possible. As a female, it is especially hard to fine a shop that doesn’t gatekeep, make you uncomfortable, or shame you in any way and Mourningstar is that place, they will make you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in, will never judge you for taking breaks and will ensure you love the design and placement before even beginning. Another great thing about them is McKennas designs. You can give her the most vague idea of what you want and she executes it perfectly every time. I’ve never had to have her redraw, or redesign anything. It’s always perfect on the first try. But even if it wasn’t, she won’t get annoyed with you for asking for redraws, she’s flexible, open and wants you to be happy with her work. She is truly an artist and a very very talented one at that. I can’t recommend them more. The shop itself is cleanly, abides by all health regulations and has a really cool modern aesthetic.
