Painted Pony Tattoo & Piercing

I had an amazing experience this afternoon! I went in for a nose piercing and a tattoo. I dont remember the ladys name that did my nose piercing but she was so nice and professional. Laken did my tattoo and I really enjoyed the experience. She was so kind and patient with me! She redrew the design a couple of times until I was happy with it. She is such a sweet person. Everyone I spoke to here was nice. I love the vibe and the people there! Definitely recommend! This place is great.

Have had 3 large tattoos done at Painted Pony. Every single 1 has exceeded all of my expectations. In the process of getting a neo japanese leg sleeve done. My artist is a newer, young artist that rivals tattoo artists with decades of experience. Huge thank you to Taylor for being our artist.

Took my daughter for her 1st piercing he was wonderful she was scared they calmed her down and when she got then she said it didn’t even hurt so I ended up doing the very top of mine in the cartridge I didn’t even feel it. Will go back anytime we need anything. Amazing staff

My review isn’t for the business itself but for an artist. The owner is wonderful but today when I went in to make my appointment he was not there. I began talking about availability for a certain day and before I could get many words out a young female artist started talking to me in a very rude and ignorant tone about the times I couldn’t my appointment. I said halfhearted that maybe it wasn’t ment to be (referring to the Saturday I was hoping for) and she said “Yeah guess not!” And turned her back towards me. The receptionist/apprentice was very sweet and even seemed shocked at what the young woman said. I kept composed but I would not let her touch my skin with a felt tip marker! I feel sorry for the business.

Booked an appointment with Taylor for 3 tattoos she is time efficient and doesn’t rush and her work is super clean. Beautiful work and studio & good vibes. Would highly recommend

Ive had many tattoos done here but reception is awful I wanted a simple tattoo (i have 22 half done at Painted Pony) & bc it was 6 (without asking the artist) I was told it couldnt be done bc she was on the phone. Ive never had this issue bit its not professional at all

I always have a great experience here both at the tattoo shop and the piercing studio. I usually have Taylor do my tattoos and at this point she is responsible for most of the art on my body. and I always come back! I’ve put most of my friends onto this shop and they all love it too. great prices and a good time. i recommend!!!

My Daughter wanted to get her ears pierced. My wife and I wanted to make sure it was done correctly by someone who cared. We worked with Amanda. She is awesome. She made the process easy, and took her time. My Daughter is extremely happy with her piercings. If it were anyone else I think that my daughter may have had second thoughts. Amanda took the time to make her feel comfortable and let her get mentally prepared for her first piercings. Its not easy to pull that off for a 5 year old who could have easily changed her mind. The process was smooth and not forceful or rushed. Strongly recommend working with Amanda, shes great! Thanks Amanda! You made this a memorable day and a fun experience for us all, but most importantly my little girl!

RedNeck did a cover up tattoo on the back of my neck and had other tattoos done by him when he was at a different shop. But I like the painted pony shop. Its very laid back but still has a professional atmosphere going on! Very clean and sterile shop. Wouldnt wanna get my tattoos done by anyone else or go anywhere else! Serious talent, and very nice prices. I was super surprised to see SO MANY pre-made designs, theyre all over the shop and theyre really cool. My mother & I went in to get matching tattoos and were blown away with the final result. Our tattoo artist was Art Boy, and he was super nice & professional. This was my second tattoo and the biggest & the most colorful, talking to him & my mom made the experience super easy breezy. He explained the after care instructions at the end of my tattoo and at the end of hers, and he gave us clear written instructions on how to care for them. His art definitely speaks for itself! Im looking forward to getting something else from him when I come back into town. Thank you Painted Pony!

Loved the girl that helped redo my ear piercings due to being messed at by Walmart as a kid. Would recommend here for piercings all day long!!!

This place is Amazing!! I had a Daith piercing that was done there almost a year ago. I had to go back and have a plastic earring in because I was having surgery. After I had the surgery I went back and bought a new piece of jewelry to go in and they have a great selection. If you are looking for a clean place and experienced people this is your place!

My wife told me a couple of months ago she wanted a tattoo for mothers day. I wasnt sure where to go so I asked around. Several of my coworkers got tattoos here. She got her tattoo on 5/15/2023. Courtney did an OUTSTANDING job. Everyone is friendly and the establishment is super clean. Courtney is very professional, knowledge, friendly and a top notch tattoo artist. I highly recommend Painted Pony Tattoo if you want a high quality tattoo.

Taylor was my tattoo artist. She young just starting off in the business with little over a year under her belt. She is very professional, excellent tattoo artist and very detailed in her work. I would highly recommend Taylor.

When I went to paint pony the workers was sitting around talking & laughing like they didnt hear my son and I come in. One of them was actually doing a tattoo. Finally a older gentleman came to us. It still took him about 10 minutes to get to my son and I. My son justed wanted one of his ear pierce. then the workers was doing a lot of cussing at each other. Rather playing or not too much cussing for my taste. And then he said make yourselves at home I will be with you shortly.My son and I waited up there for an hour and a half so we walked out and left. So I really dont know if we got overlooked because we were black. But everyone else was getting seen and we was there before them. I will NOT ever again step foot in that place. It was not a friendly atmosphere and the energy in there was just off. So this will be my first and my last at that place. What An Horrible Experience. If I could put zero Stars I would.

Amanda is so kind, caring, and funny.... this world needs more folks like her. I love going to painted pony, wont go any where else as long as Amanda and that crazy redneck are there. We love yall both.

10/10 recommend Painted Pony for all your Tattoo and Piercing needs. The staff are all friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend Keith for your next tattoo, hands down the best tattoo experience I have ever had. Felt barely any discomfort throughout the entire tattoo, he was light handed and did amazing work. I am very pleased and will be back for future tattoos to be done by Keith.

I actually have know about this place for two years. My friend got her first tattoo from here and since then I knew I wanted to get my first body piercing here. Going in was amazing. My piercer (Amanda)was very quick and very trained. She knew exactly what she was doing and made sure I was comfortable and doing okay then entire time. She explained what she would do and how everything would transpire. After, she went through the after-care steps and told me to contact her if I wanted to change my jewelry out or had any questions at all. I was in and out in under 15 minutes. Absolutely the best place to get a piercing done if you want it done right and done under very sterile and comfortable conditions. They have a very good environment for both children and adults. Your comfort and happiness is their main goal. I will definitely be going back.ASK FOR AMANDA!!!

Listen y’all, I have had my nose pierced / re-pierced 4 times. The woman piercer here was by far the best, most fast, and least painful piercer. My ex-partner has had his nose done by her twice and also likes her.

Such an excellent walk-in experience. Lee gave me an absolutely beautiful “get what you get” tattoo and I cannot wait to go back with more ideas in the future. Clemson student that got my first tattoo done here by Art. As a shop they were very professional and were able to get a time that worked for me very fast. Art is definitely one of the chillers people I’ve met and his art speaks for itself. Fantastic work, good insight, honest feedback, and very fair pricing. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience especially for my first.

Went and got my septum pierced here about a month ago. Shop is super clean and the staff is super friendly. They did a great job. My piercing is healing nicely and I havent had any problems. One day I woke up and one of the balls for my septum ring bad fallen off and I couldnt find it. Went back and they gave me a new ring for free, even helped me change it. Great shop, great people, great service. 10/10, will definitely come here for any work I get done in the future.

I went in to get a tattoo and the three women didnt want to be bothered. They were very rude and made everything uncomfortable. Im glad they atleast showed their true colors before getting any work done.

The girl with black and blue hair is extremely rude. Went in for a piercing and her and another girl did my piercing and she made some extremely rude comments about my body and how she was tired of doing the specific piercing. If you come here ask for someone else, the lady with purple hair is very nice.

I needed new jewlery for my piercings and happened upon this studio while traveling. It is **VERY clean** so I was happy about that. However, when I walked in I was not greeted and the employees continued conversation while I stood there awkwardly waiting for service. There were no other clients in the piercing studio at the time.The employee who replaced my jewlery wore gloves but did not sterilize the hoops before putting them in my ear (after picking them up out of the case without gloves). I wasnt too concerned because I keep my piercings very clean and didnt want to make a big deal out of it, but it was a little unprofessional.Im rating 4/5 stars because it was pretty much perfect for what I needed in that moment but the attentiveness to clients/details could be better.Also, Google maps isnt super clear but there are two sides to the business. Its a pretty large space, half designated for piercings and half designated for tattoos! (Awesome) :))

I got my double helix here almost 12 months ago. They pierced me with hoops and at an angle, and it never healed. Was infected MULTIPLE times, ended up having to close the holes. The piercers should know what they’re doing to not pierce people with hoops or at an angle.

When no one else would rescue my dermal piercing they did. I cant remember her name but the coolest lady there did it and did the best dermal rescue a person can ask for. Ive been in here twice and both ladys are super nice. One older and one younger. I refuse to go anywhere else and Im from Hartwell! Thanks miss lady 😘! You literally made me Happy!!

Amanda did my left side of my nose today and replaced my right side and my septum piercing, she was a sweetheart she helped me pick out my jewelry, was extremely nice, professional and I had such a fun experience with her. I’ve had previous piercings done, and tattoos done here and I 150% recommend Redneck Amanda and the overall shop!!! I can’t wait to book my next appointment with these guys.

The artist at this studio are extremely talented. it was recommended to me by several people, and the girl who did my tattoo, Ana, was able to take my rough sketch and really put her own artistic touch in it which made the tattoo better than I could have even imagined.There is always light in the midst of the darkness. The promptness and communication from the shop was awesome. I was turned down by other artists at other shops because of the geometric line work I wanted. My tattoo artist was Patrick, he got me in on a walk-in and the tattoo turned out better than I could have imagined. Great experience from beginning to end.

Incredible artists at a good price. I have been tattooed here twice and both times I was very impressed. My wife and most of my friends also use this parlor exclusively. I have never heard a complaint from any customer I meet. If you are tentative about getting a tattoo for the first time or an inked up veteran this is the place to go in upstate South Carolina.

I was a little nervous at first because I read all the bad reviews, but when I got there, the staff and owner was nothing like the reviews! They were all super friendly, held smiles on their faces, joked around with you and also made you feel comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place ! I paid a week in advance, took a vacation day and drove an hour one way only to receive a bad tattoo. The person/artist was rude, told the other artist he was uncomfortable doing my tattoo, I asked if I should get my deposit back or book with another artist. The artist ask to give him a few minutes and left me sitting waiting for one hour with no explanation. I should have left then. It took the artist an hour to draw the design on stancil transfer paper, not a big tattoo and not a lot of detail to it either. I should have left. The artist transferred it to my body twice and wiped it off. I should have left. Before the artist started he said he had a headache and did not want to talk during my session. He told me he didnt want me to walk out and write a bad review. I should have left. During the session he kept having to answer incoming calls and got agitated because no one was at the front desk. I should have left. The tattoo does not look like the design I gave him. It looks like a kids drawing. Another bad tattoo, I should have left.

Amanda was very nice and sweet. She helped me and answered my questions with no problems. She made me feel welcomed and confortable. Will be coming back in the future.

Clean environment, and do a good job of making sure the sketch is what you want. My mother got one here by Shannon, and he did a great creative job.The only issue was that she put a $20 deposit to hold the appointment and they forgot about it so ended up paying $20 more than she should have, plus a tip. But we forgot about it too until we left.

Meant to post this much earlier, but I got my ears pierced here by Amanda back in ~Sept 2017, and she was fantastic! Very knowledgeable and gave the best tips for first-time piercings. Didnt experience any negative effects thanks to her tips, and she did a top-notch job at making sure the piercings werent lopsided. I was very impressed with the overall cleanliness and professionalism of the piercing parlor; would highly recommend.

Awful experience! Got my belly button pierced here about a year ago. The lady who did it, did not pierce it in the right spot which I had no clue. After about two weeks of being in pain and super swollen and red I went to a different place and they told me the jewelry was too small for the piercing since she had made it too big so it did not have enough room to swell and heal correctly. I also informed the lady I was allergic to latex and then after it was pierced said she couldn’t get the ball on with the non latex gloves so she put on latex gloves and then proceeded to continue. I’m very upset and now have to buy special belly button rings because none of the normal ones are long enough all because the lady did not pierce correctly. Will never go here.

Overall the piercing shop is clean and the lady is nice and does a good job. The only downfall was that she pierced me with a hoop which is a big no no when getting pierced and also the shops hours are really inconsistent. The website tells you one thing but then I’ll drive 30 minutes to get there only to find out they closed early. You always need to call to find out their hours for the day before heading over there.

The service and staff are the best. They make you feel welcome and comfortable. The quality of the artwork is top notch. Ive definitely found my go to place for tattoos.

I called ahead and explained exactly what I wanted which was a sugar skull on my forearm, I was told that I could be fit in with KEITH . I WAS A HOUR AWAY from his shop, drove all the way to SC, and once i showed Keith what i wanted the first thing he said was how much was I willing to spend I said around $350, he said yeah no, youre looking at like $500. And he would have to cut out some detail due to my slim arm. When I spoke to Amanda on the phone she said I would be able to be fit in. Keith said it would take him 2 hours just to draw it up. Sooo...needless to say, I had to walk out empty handed. Very unprofessional and rude.

I got 2 conch piercings today. My piercer was very knowledgeable and friendly. The variety of jewelry they have is the best I have ever seen. Both the piercing studio and tattoo studio were very clean and sterile. Will definitely be going back!

I had my daith and helix pierced by Amanda, she was very professional. Quick and less painful than I thought! I will definitely go back to her for future piercings!

Amanda was very calm and patient when talking to me and piercing me, despite my indecisiveness and squirminess. Im a hard one to work with and she didnt even seem to mind. I definitely suggest checking the place out. Theyll answer any questions you may have about any piercing, very knowledgeable and understanding.

I got my nose pierced, and my five-year-old got her ears pierced. Ms. Amanda and Mr. Thomas were terrific in how they talked and explained to my daughter what was happening. No tears, and she cant wait to return and let Ms. Amanda switch out her earrings. I will defiantly return for other services.

Keith was amazing! I had a tattoo reworked by him. I felt like he really knew what he was doing and was a true artist. I talked about getting a cover or reworking the tattoo. After talking with Keith it seemed the better option was a rework as I did not want a bigger tattoo and I still wanted to have a triskele. No tracing on this tattoo. He was able to envision what would make the tattoo look great and able to fix the lines, color and shape of the tattoo. Now I dont hate it but love it! Thanks!!!!Side Note: The prices here are comparable to other places! This is artwork and artwork is not cheap. I thought the prices were spot on. If you want a cheap looking tattoo then go to a cheaper shop. The shop itself is very clean and has a comfy waiting area. Also the staff are all very friendly and answered all my questions. They do not accept credit or debit cards (cash only) but have an ATM in the shop so this was not a problem.

Amanda did my septum piercing. Very happy with the placement. Excellent service and jewelry selection. Can also order jewelry from companies they don’t regularly stock. Will definitely have Amanda do other piercings.

Spent 2 grand here. Brought my son in with me for appointed visit and hat guy had no intention to use any creative process. I was embarrassed in front of staff and other customers. Absolutely brilliant work by Connor. I have traveled far and wide to get an older Clemson Tigers tattoo corrected and was rejected almost everywhere Toronto, Vancouver, Las Vegas to name a few. Connor you did an incredible job and the cost was extremely reasonable given the work. Thank you so much for giving an old tattoo life again!

I highly recommend Painted Pony Piercing. I got a helix piercing by Thomas (Redneck), and was very impressed. This place is VERY clean and professional. He did a great job and was very fast. He also has a good selection of jewelry. I went around 7:30ish on Saturday and was able to walk-in with no wait. I will go back to him in the future.

My husband and I went to Painted Pony Piercing on Sunday to get his eyebrow pierced and my ni**les pierced. I was impressed by the kind service of the staff and their ability to be efficient while still providing you with an excellent, personal experience. It is obvious the staff knows their trade well. Amanda is awesome!! Pierced 1 kids ears and 1 teen. Really takes her time and made sure they were comfortable and was particular about making sure piercings were even. A+++

I went in last week to ask questions which Halley & Raven answered without making me feel like a nerd. I let them know I would be back today. Raven was super great!! I still had questions because I was nervous, but she let me get settled & pierced my nose while I kept my eyes closed the whole time! Thank you all so much! I wish I had done it years ago!!

I came as a walk in and was instantly greeted and listened to about exactly what I wanted. They drew it up and had it ready within 10 minutes and were very concerned and courteous about the details of the tattoo. The artist was professional and did the tattoo very well.

I asked the girl what I needed for my new piercing. She sold me the jewelry she picked out and it was way to big. When I came back and said the jewelry she recommended was way to big, she said to just buy the next size down. After I had spent 20 dollars. She wanted me to spend more after she had just wasted my money. Will not be going here anymore.

I am extremely unimpressed by them. I got helix and naval piercings and I don’t like either. The lady that did them never asked where I wanted the helix placed on my ear and just stuck the needle through. As for my naval, she didn’t pierce enough skin and my body started rejecting it and I had to take it out. I also had to pay $30 per piercing and I don’t like either. I will never come back to this place and I would never refer anyone to it.

This place is awesome I would not go anywhere else I would not send anybody anywhere else but Painted Pony piercing its a wonderful place its a very beautiful experience Amandas a wonderful piercing artist she is very friendly loving and caring. I would definitely tell anybody that wanted a Piercing to definitely go to painted pony piercing shes calming friendly and loving its a family atmosphere.

Called to make an appointment because I live out of state but travel to the area often to visit family. I was told very rudely by the lady who answered the phone that there was no way for me to make an appointment and I could not pay the deposit since I could not walk into the shop. My family referred me to this shop because they have spent time and money with them. I however will not spend a dime with this shop! Hope the rude attitude was worth the money it cost you.

I did not like the way the woman pierced me. Naval or Nose! My body was on the verge of rejecting both piercings. But I kept them clean with sea salt on a daily basis. If I had not done so then I would have had an infection. I dont recommend this place for piercings to anybody! Now, as far as tattooing goes there, I dont know how they do.

Came here several times and were treated as if staff did not want to be of any assistance when came down to helping me with finding the right piercing ring for my nose. Also the girls were not friendly at all what so ever. I would not recommend coming here.Staff was very rude.

At first I was skeptical of this shop after receiving a bad tattoo about two weeks ago from an artist that is no longer at this shop(go figure, it was awful). But, the owner(Redneck) fixed it to where it is a hundred times better, and also did another tattoo on me the same day. Big shout out to Redneck!! Hes the only artist Ill go to at this shop from now on

Drove 1 hour to come here got here and they wouldnt pierce my daughters nose! Said he dont LIKE to do facial piercing on anyone young than 15! Shell be 15 in 2 months! Didnt ask that! I went today to get my septum pierced. The person doing my piercing made me feel very comfortable. The piercing was quick, it barely hurt, he did a fantastic job!

I’ve had several piercings here.(all of them in my nose) lol. Very clean, and fun atmosphere. My septum didn’t even hurt. I will come back for more. (I don’t have anymore room in my nose 😉)

Unpleasant people that don’t work with you. The person I was with was rude and very stern. Go somewhere else if you want a more customized tattoo.

Worst shop i have ever used. Very unprofessional. Went in to get a simple tattoo and got nothing to attitude from the staff. Not sure, but a gentleman in a black cadillac escalade came in and said he worked there and proceeded to tell me what i wanted for a tat.This is not a place to put money or your time into.

These guys are great, very clean facility, very professional artists with great portfolios. Had to get a botched job covered that recently got and Shannon did a fantastic job at covering up.

This is the best place around here to get your ears pierced! $50 for a clean ear piercing with earrings and they do both ears at the same time.
