A Thin Line Tattoo

I got my first ever tattoo from Charlie today and it was a great experience! He made me feel very comfortable and the overall appearance of the shop was very professional. Charlie explained multiple times how to take care of the tattoo and answer all of my questions and concerns. Will be going again! Highly recommend.

The whole downtown area it’s in is super cute and nice to walk around, but the shop itself is also super cute and clean. i felt very welcomed right when i walked in and checked in. the decor and art everywhere is awesome too. i had Faith do my tattoo and she was great. so friendly and professional and was patient with me to figure out the fine details of my script tattoo. definitely recommend this place and definitely recommend Faith for script tattoos!

Charlie B. has put 2 separate pieces on me over the years including work on an in-progress sleeve, and he continues to impress. Both have healed nicely, and the artwork is absolutely impeccable. The most recent one is a floral forearm piece with a rosary wound through the flowers. Im stoked about it, everyone comments on it, and it clearly represents the work of an artist at the height of his powers. The other artists and staff seem to have a good community in the shop, too - several stopped in and got excited about Charlies work, and they seem to support one another and do a great overall job of making customers feel comfortable and welcome. Very reasonable prices, too! Definitely give this shop a try. Charlie B. is the only artist for my right arm sleeve and more work in the future!

Cannot recommend more!! I went to Mae, I’ve been to her before when she was an apprentice but she’s only gotten better over the years. She really nailed the design and it was even better than I imagined! Her microrealism is unreal.

Stopped in at Thin Line in Batavia for my first tattoo… Tylor did a great job! He friendly and chill the entire time. All I can say is just let this dude do what he does and you will get something even better than what you have in your minds eye.

Just got my first tattoo, couldnt be happier with the service. Joe was very professional and patient with everything that I wanted. I sent SO many emails with ideas and pictures. (Way too much.) and he nailed the design i wanted perfectly, we redid the stencil placement 3 times and he made sure it was as perfect as can be. I gave him my budget and I swear he gave me well over my moneys worth. The front desk staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable for all of my stupid questions. This is definitely the place to go for your tattoo work. I cant wait to be back!

I got a tattoo done by Tyler here. First, absolutely LOVED the environment. Super chill and love the separate rooms to tattoo in. Definitely felt more at ease and relaxed. Second, Tyler was AMAZING!! Hes so personable and kept the conversation going that it Definitely did not make me think of the pain at all. Hes super laid back and awesome. He did make one comment about Disney world but I guess Ill forgive him since he gave me my dream tattoo! 🤣 Definitely would recommend to anyone.

Had a great first tattoo experience and cant recommend Thin Line more. The receptionist was very sweet, helpful, and pacient. Emily was very considerate of design choices and accommodating making sure the design was just as desired. The tattoo turned out better than we could have asked for.

Came here for my very first tattoo, I got it in 2019 right before the pandemic but once my tattoo officially healed, my touch up appointment was conflicted due to the pandemic hit but once things settled and was in the clear, they welcomed me back for my free touch up. I always recommend to others to go there when they ask where to go! I hope to come back this year and get more work done!

I got a tattoo by Faith and it came out absolutely amazing! Faith was super easy to talk to and made the whole experience great! I highly recommend her and this studio and look forward to getting more tattoos done by her.

I got tattooed by Joe back in December and had a great experience! Everyone I interacted with was super friendly and everything was clean and professional. My tattoo healed well and still looks great!

Just checked them out, after one of the Artists I know moved to this location. After visiting it totally makes sense! Super chill environment, definitely recommend if you want privacy during a session because artist share a room with 1 other instead of a total open environment. Super friendly, good prices, and even tje neighborhood right on tje river is great. Grab some food, get some tats, and hit the bars on the river a nice night. Multiple times have I tried to set up an appointment for consultation OR work done and never gotten any sort of response. Bummer because I drive by this place every day, I live less than a block away from it and can see the building from my back porch for the last 9 years. Had a friend who had an appointment set for the last 8 months just for it to be cancelled the day of without anyone calling them for over a week afterwards to set up another appointment. Definitely a lot better places just a bit further away that won’t twist your arm just to get a flipping appointment. Awful customer service.

I was lucky enough to get an appointment with Faith after admiring her work online for a long time. She created an amazing design for me and was really helpful in making a couple of small tweaks. The communication was great throughout the process. When I got my tattoo, I really appreciated how welcoming everyone was at A Thin Line. Great place - highly recommend!!

After seeing the high quality of work done by the artists at A Thin Line Tattoo and seeing great reviews and photos, I decided to have Lauren for my most recent tattoo, and I’m so glad I did! I was really excited for this design as it’s one that will always make me smile, and she did such a great job bringing it to fruition and making any adjustments to the initial sketch that I requested. Best tattoo place Ive ever been to. Got my largest ones done here and I wont trust anyone but Emily for my portrait tattoos, she is SPOT on. Rich did an amazing job on my favorite flower. No need to look elsewhere, although you may have to book far in advance due to their popularity.

I was so nervous, I am not a person who has tattoos. Susie did a fabulous job with me. She made my experience comfortable, memorable and fun! She captured what I wanted. I gave her a note that my dad hand-wrote me 12 years ago, and I told her my dad was a cowboy, she said give me a few minutes to come up with something. She was amazing! She took time and care, she made any changes, and moved the stencil around as many times as I wanted before we actually inked it forever. I love it!!! I am so pleased with how it turned out. If I ever want another tattoo Im definitely calling Susie!~My son and my daughter also went to different artists @ A thin Line in Batavia, IL on the same day as me. Did a lot of looking around for a tattoo shop with a good reputation. Made a tattoo appointment with Michael Viruet and submitted my ideas ahead of time. When I came in he had it all ready to go, and we got started. He paid attention to every detail and it came out perfect! The shop has a clean and relaxing environment. Looking forward to coming back with other projects.

I went in last night to see Cassie to get a forearm tattoo. The whole experience was great! Scheduling and choosing and artist was easy. My appointment got postponed two days because the artist was sick, but I don’t mind and appreciate that A Thin Line prioritizes health. The front desk folks were very accommodating and willing to fit me in.Cassie was very easy going and really nice. She ensured the placement was centered on my arm and took her time making sure everything was perfect. She was super helpful in proving suggestions for placement and I ended up following her advice and I’m glad I did.I’ll be coming back to Cassie for future tattoos and already convinced my dad to make an appointment with her.All in all a wonderful experience and I’m glad that we have such a great place with talented artists here in Batavia!

A girlfriend and I decided to get our first tattoos...amazing considering our ages. After some research and an unsuccessful visit to another shop in Lombard that had been recommended, we decided to visit A Thin Line. Wow! Hands done the best decision. Within minutes of arriving we meet one of the artists my daughter wanted me to use. Mike V. Was available and spent a great deal if time patiently working with my friend and I on our selected designs, size, and locations. Experience was great. Clean, sanitary, and comfortable enough for two seniorsn! Mike did a wonderful job. Tattoo has healed beautifully and I get comments on the wonderful line work. Thank you Mike V.

Waited 8 months for an artist.. I was looking for a great tattoo considering Ive never had to wait that long to get tattooed... long story short, wasnt happy with the first try so I asked about their touch up policy and it didnt seem like they had one ...the artist arguedwith me about what a snake looks like even though when i was originally going over the tatto with him, he was asking another artist what a snake looked like.. Not good lining, Blowouts, shading is poor, also not placed prefctly like a professioinal would have.. No fuss about getting in for a touch up but the tatto is still the LEAST FAVORITE tattoo that Ive ever received...would not recommend... its a black rope around my collar bone with no detail.. far from Fine Line Boooo!!... comments ive have had from people Ive shown are all negative

Earlier this year, me and my bf decided we wanted to get our first tattoos together. After months of research we ended up between this parlor and another and decided to go with A Thin Line Tattoo.From the beginning, the staff there was extremely friendly and accommodating, they worked with us tirelessly to ensure we had the best experience and design for our tattoo ideas. Keylan, who was our artist was so helpful walking us through the process step by step and letting us know what we could expect every step of the way. She took her time to apply the stencil as many times as needed and took all the necessary precautions to ensure the tattoo had the best healing process. During the tattoo, she made sure to check in with us and even suggested taking a break when she saw we were beginning to struggle a bit.The tattoos we both got were line-based so it was crucial that she took her time which she absolutely did. Both designs came out crispy clean, everyone who sees them always comments on the line work.This was such an amazing first tattoo experience and we know we will DEFINITELY be gong back soon!TLDR: Amazing first tattoo experience, super clean location, would give them 100 starts if I could! You are in excellent hands!

Awesome shop. Clean and professional. A lot of artists. In the process of doing a cover up that will be turning into a sleeve. Reasonable prices. Everyone seems really cool and supportive of eachother. All sorts of artist all sorts of styles. Artist doing my work is charlie, hes super chill and down to earth, and really enjoys his work and creating new things.

Updated review: their phone never works, I try to call back for confirmation and it rings until it hangs up on me, doesnt matter when I try to call... otherwise my review still stands....They have some of the best local artist at the shop. It can be difficult to book an appointment with some of the artist though. You might need to plan several months to a year in advance with some. Your patience will be well rewarded. Their roster is growing with really talented artists. Been getting worked on here for over a year.

I was a walk-in on a Sunday afternoon and everyone there was absolutely amazing! Rich sat down with me and personally helped me to finalize what I wanted and helped me get everything exactly as I wanted it.I could not have asked for a better first experience!!! He was very conscious of how I was doing throughout and his work is excellent! Pricing is great compared to some places I looked at downtown Chicago. Overall I was probably in and out of there in a little over an hour!!!Currently on day 2 post! Many people have commented that it is very well done and after following care directions it feels virtually healed!!! Definitely will be coming back here again =)

This is one of the best shops in IL, if not the best. I’ve had work done by Keylan and Ryan, as well as an artist who isn’t at the shop anymore, and have more appointments booked with other artists. Each time my wife and I go in for work, we are treated like family. We end up leaving ATL with huge smiles on our faces, and amazing work on our bodies. Any negative review on this place should be thrown out the door.

As I’ve never been to this shop, I have called on two separate occasions to schedule a touch-up appointment with a young lady that recently transferred to the shop, from another where she did my tattoo. Both individuals stated they would contact the young lady to see if she could do the touch up and get back to me. Almost a week later after the second time I called, I’ve still heard nothing. They even asked me to provide my number for a call back and again nothing. I understand things can get busy but the lack of follow up is unprofessional, especially seeing that now I’ll have to pay for someone to touch up the tattoo at her previous shop after being told If I needed a touch up It would be free!

They are amazing at making you feel as comfortable as possible! If you have a chance, ask for Carl, he did an exceptional job on my first tattoo. Extremely happy with everything they’ve done for me!

I don’t even know where to begin with how positive my entire experience was with thin line. I booked a consult and saw all the artists work. Every artist here has insane talent but for my piece I chose Keylan. I showed her my version, and over the next few weeks she had created a piece more beautiful than I could have imagined. She puts so much effort into her work and it shows. My tattoo came out perfect and I’ve received so many compliments! Everyone here is so friendly and fun to be around. I first discovered AThin Line a little over 2 years ago and I am extremely pleased with there service. I was fortunate enough to have Emily DC o my tattoo and shes the only artist I will go to if I ever need anything. Ive gotten three tattoos and a cover up. Emily has also done several tattoos for family members Ive recommended to go see her. All the other artist and front desk staff have been nothing but courteous and professional as well.

I absolutely love this shop. The artists and piercers are all are friendly, talented, and down to earth. The shop itself is super clean and has really cool decor. I didnt know what a great tattoo was until I came here. I met with Keylan and showed her a drawing of what I wanted. She drew her own design keeping in mind what I liked about the drawing. I loved what she drew. She was great to work with and my tattoo is amazing. Everyone who sees it says its amazing.

Made a appointment with Tattoo Artist Mike Viruet.My wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary getting a couples tattoo. We thought we had exactly what we wanted, but Mike’s creativity gave us something better.The business is very professional, clean, and has a great vibe. Ive been to 5 other studios and this was the most professional. Reception was helpful and studio was very clean. I came in looking to add a design element to an existing tattoo. My artist, Rich, conducted himself as a professional and gave some great advice. I had a very vague idea of what i was looking for and he helped me pinpoint a design. We had a difference of opinion on how the new piece would be oriented, and after he explained his reasoning, i was smart enough to take his advice. I couldnt be happier. He knew my body shape and how it would affect the design and he was totally right. It even works well with my other pieces. Thats what a professional does. Well done and thank you for your service.

I have gotten 2 tattoos from Charlie now and both are great. The place is very clean and professional. The staff is extremely nice. I overpaid on accident and they called me right away and held onto the money for me to come get.

The studio is very large which is great. the tattoo rooms have tv which Ive never seen before watched my current favorite Netflix show during my long sitting. Emily did my tattoo she is an amazing artist loved how it came out. Also love her personality very funny and very interesting person. love thin line great first experience will definitely go back.

I went in for for a consultation. I tried to meet with the artist twice that day but due to unseen circumstances, they were not available. I completely understand. The artist did reach out and apologized.My beef is with the business and lack of customer service. Nobody reached out to reschedule me for follow up. The front of the house was dysfunctional at best. I would recommend a shop manager.

Ive gotten several tattoos at this shop by various artists including Charlie Barcavage, Ryan Nutini, and Joe Pinto. All of my pieces have healed up great, the shop is not only beautiful but very clean, and the people that work there are not only knowledgeable but very friendly and easy to talk to.I recently got an extensive line work peice by Charlie on my arm extending to my shoulder and was told to expect some fall out with the lines and I experienced none at all. The peice looks just as tight as the day I got it.Amazing shop and extremely talented artists. Would and have recommended this shop to friends and family and I already have more appointments scheduled for myself!

Such horrible service. Im legitimately mad right now. I called in yesterday to set up a time to get my tattoo and the lady said that any time before 3pm would be great, so maybe 2pm. I said ok yeah, 2pm sounds good. I come in the next day, the lady at the front desk tells me Im not even on the calender and the guy is busy the whole day. So now I have to wait even longer for my next appointment....

I just got a tattoo from here today. It was my first tattoo ever, and they made sure to take care of me by help me through the whole process of designing my tattoo. I worked with Mike Viruet to recreate my grandfathers tattoo, and he did an amazing job especially since I was annoying enough to change some colors last minute. Mike did a fantastic job designing and carrying out the tattoo I couldnt be more pleased with it. I will definitely return here for my next tattoo even though its an hour away from my house because we all know that a tattoo is permenant and after my experience with them I wouldnt want to risk getting a tattoo from another shop. Thanks guys!

Cassandra treated us like family when we went to see her for my wifes appointment just a few hours ago. She was really down to earth and does fantastic custom artwork. She had no problem resizing and flipping contour images on an iPad, just so my wife can get her perfect placement. Unfortunately my cousin went and saw Faith and she’s too nice to leave a review. From what I’ve seen, she does really great work but don’t go for words because she can’t spell… “bunches” was spelled “buneles”… I have no idea what that means. And I get it mistakes are made but my cousin paid full price and if she wants it fixed she would have to pay… now that’s messed up. Obviously you care more about the money than your work. Profiting off of a mistake instead of fixing it is very unprofessional so if I could leave 0 stars I would.
