High Voltage Tattoo & Piercing

If youre African American or a minority please do not come here for piercings or tattoos. She pierced my forward helix in a spot its never pierced, totally disregarded where I asked her to pierce it. If she couldnt pierce in the spot it has always been pierced for years instead of taking my money she couldve stated she did not feel comfortable or is not use to piercing in the spot requested. Allowed me to leave the establishment with my ear leaking blood. And did not offer my money back after I clearly looked upset. And the owner sat there and did not offer any type of concern that a new customer was upset about a piercing that was not done correctly. Its obviously how I was treated my kind is not welcome at this type of establishment. She stated race has nothing to do with it yet she charged me for a cleaning solution and wouldnt give it to me until I asked for it. She put two dots on my ear and I asked is it coming out of the whole I already have and she said yes. I can see that I made a mistake going to her as I see in reviews she makes a lot of mistakes when it comes to people piercings . She had an attitude and very short with me when I exclaimed that is not how the piercing was asked to be pierced did not offer a refund or to re-pierce me. Im pretty sure if I was her race she wouldve shown sympathy and compassion, I came back in clearly crying and she had an attitude even the owner had a smirk on his face like I was not suppose to be upset. Also, when I first came in the owner since I receiving multiple piercings, each would be $30 dollars due to getting multiple piercings and she still charged me full price for each piercing so please stop saying race has nothing to do with it because it has everything to do with it.Plus, why would I allow you to piece my forward helix in a new spot when the holes I have been pierced in the same exact spot from two different artist for years so please stop making excuses you clearly did not follow instructions and did what you wanted and did not care how I felt. Ive gotten that same spot pierced in the same spot for years and youre the only artist who pierced in a spot it was never pierced before. You pierced on top of the hole that was already there I clearly asked you was the spot you dotted was it leading out the hole I already have and you said yes.The below photo is where I have always gotten my ears pierced why would I get it pierced anywhere else when I was born with these holes. You made a mistake and will not own up to it you were very biased and prejudiced towards me when I exclaimed to you pierced me in the wrong spot. Those dots were suppose to led to the holes I already have not a total new piercing spot.The only artist who screwed me over and made a new whole on top of the hole I have gotten pierced in the same spot for years. THE TWO PREVIOUS PIERCING ARTISTS CLEARLY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING AND SHE CLEARLY DID NOT. THE PHOTOS BELOW PROVE THAT THOSE ARTIST DID EXACTLY WHAT I ASKED SHE PIERCED ON TOP OF THE HOLE I ALREADY HAVE.

Kate is wonderful! I have gotten a few piercings from her and will return with any future wants/needs. She is extremely thorough, calm, kind, and, most importantly, good at what she does. I haven’t had any issues with any piercings she’s done. She has helped me curate my ear into something I love and am so happy with. I recommend her to anyone who is looking for a piercing-thank you, Kate!!

My favorite piercer in town. Both my teenager and I have gotten multiple piercings from Kate. Shes very detail oriented, and has done a stellar job on each of our piercings. The prices are also good, and they have a card that if you get 5 piercings you get a free one! Highly recommended for any and all your piercing needs!

I cannot say Thank you enough to Kate! She was so kind and patient with my 6 year old, answering questions, asking permission and making my daughter feel in control of her body. As a parent I was in awe of Kate and the respect she showed.I would 100% recommend bringing your child here for a piercing.

I stopped in the shop to get my eyebrow pierced and very last minute decided to also have my helix done. Kate was really helpful and super informative! She listened to my placement preferences and answered some questions that I had about my septum piercing that had been done by someone else. Very minimal pain and everything was done with sterile practices. I highly recommend and when I’m in the area I will be a repeat customer! Thanks again!

I’m the past 2.5 weeks I got 6 piercing by Kate on my right ear and she was amazing. The first time I got my rook and helix pierced and I was a bit nervous, she was gentle and reassured I’d be okay and took her time in between piercings. A week later I went back to few another helix, and 2 lobes piercing, again another awesome experience. A few days later I got my targus pierced and I’m ecstatic about my ear transformation. When I got my targus pierced she checked and cleaned all of the other piercings that she did. She was professional, patience, clean and careful. Thanks Kate youre awesome!

I’ve been to this place three times. The first was when my son and I got our noses pierced. It was fine, but pretty expensive. Then the next two times I wanted to ask about two cover ups, that are in “ private “ places. The first time I sat there for twenty minutes and not one person acknowledged me. Not a hello, or a I’ll be right with you , nothing!! Finally I walked up to someone to inquire about the cover ups and he never looked up from whatever he was doing, fixing a chair or something, so I couldn’t hear a single word he was saying. So I came in again, and it was the same thing, two ppl looked at me and said NOTHING?? At this point I was very uncomfortable, but still asked and got a bunch of not helpful responses. That was two cover ups that I was willing to pay good money for, one was pretty large. I took my business elsewhere, I was incredibly uncomfortable and felt as though I was bothering them asking if they could do my covers.

Me and my husband came got tattoos, mark did my tattoo he was wonderful, if you are ever nervous or scared for a tattoo hes definitely the person to go to he is gentle when giving tattoos took his time with my tattoo. I made another appointment with him before leaving. My husband had Mandy he said she was great as well took her time did each letter at a time then stopped to check in on how he was doing he also made another appointment with her

Ive been a patron of high voltage ever since it first opened under another name on Ellicott Street.,.Ive been pierced and tattooed by them and have always had a good experience.

Clean and very thorough!!. I got my septum pierced a year or so ago and Kate told me everything every step of the way because I didn’t have the “sweet spot”. Went over pain, healing, after care instructions etc….. So I brought my niece in for an Ashley piercing and son for his ears. She was clean and thorough every step of the way. Taking her time and making sure everything was lined up correctly and evenly. To our liking. Gloves were used and taken out of the box in front of us….. Everything was taken out of packages right in front of us. We all followed the after care instructions to a T and healing was fast and simple. Mark also did a tattoo of mine years ago and it’s still going strong!

Absolutely love this shop. Every time I walk in there I am greeted with nothing but positivity. Kate is amazing and delivers the best piercings and I will never go anywhere else. She is so gentle and my septum turned out perfect. Mandy and Mark are always so friendly. The atmosphere is amazing; I highly recommend!

I love Kate and Mandy here! I’ve been getting piercings for about 6-7 years now and I’ve always had a fantastic experience! Always a go to place when you want something new and exciting. They are all super helpful and friendly, in a super clean, fun environment!

They’ve done 3 piercings and 1 tattoo for me, it’s been great so far until my latest piercing. I recently got a bridge piercing that’s having trouble healing.I believe HV just needs to brush up on their piercing knowledge. my bridge piercing should’ve been a bigger gauge. as well as a different material. they pierced it with a 16g when it should’ve been a 12g or 14g.edit: it was my responsibility as the client to say that I needed a particular material, that is on me. However, my anatomy did not allow for a *typical* bridge, they pierced it at a smaller gauge as that is what my anatomy allowed. After talking with her, I do understand why she chose that way. It is mostly standard to have a bigger gauge (at minimum 12g) for a bridge for stability and structure integrity.all my info is from a piercer by the name of Lynnloheide.this will Absolutely not affect my coming there again. everyone there is super great people to get worked on by and it’s a nice place. Kate was telling me everything that she was doing, she was very communicative and always is, even after reaching out.Please take my feedback light-heartedly as I would just like the best for everybody. Kate is my favorite piercer in the area! She has done almost all of my piercings and I’ve never had an issue with any of them. She always uses the proper jewelry and is very kind and gentle

I only go to High Voltage for all my piercings. Kate is amazing and always so kind. She’s very knowledgeable and creative when it comes to piercings and jewelry. I have never had a bad piercing experience, it’s always fun and an enjoyable experience.

Got my angel bites done here, the service was absolutely wonderful. The woman who did my Piercings, I believe her name was Kate, was so good. She talked me through the entire process, told me exactly what she was doing, was VERY very kind, and very gentle. She changed her gloves after touching anything, was very professional and kind, and she took her time doing my Piercings to make sure they were perfect and centered. Friendly staff. Very clean. Limited parking. Kate pierced my 9 yr old daughters ears and was gentle and supportive the whole way through. She was so awesome we went back to have her second holes done when she was 11. Not to mention, she got to pick out a toy after getting them done each time. Definitely recommend 👍

Had a dermal piercing done here today by Kate, everything was great! She was super professional and gentle while doing the piercing. Would recommend her to anyone looking for a new piercing. I got two tattoos fixed up nicely there. Darkend. The female employee who did it was very nice, & respectful. The Manager, & his wife were the exact same. I recommend this place.

My son got his first piercings here and the woman answered all his questions and was very patient with him. I recommend this place to anyone especially for the kiddos. They also worked with my allergies without any problems 10/10

Went in for a tattoo (2 of us). We were given an apprentice. Just to make it clear, she was an artist, just not a tattoo artist. It was the most painful tattoo ever, as she was pushing so far down. It came out crooked, the lines were wrong, and you could not touch it for at least 6 months. Chatted online with the shop, was told that SHE could fix it. There was no way she was touching me again. She was gone within a few months after anyway.I have $50 left on my gift certificate and its going to waste cause I will NEVER go back. I have since had it redone. That artist said it was really hard cause its the worst scar tissue hes ever seen and hes tattooed for many years and has had many shops of his own. Fyi....this was almost over 2 years ago, when there was many apprentices in and out. Unfortunately I do not remember her name.

Wife got a piercing here. The girl who did it was extremely nice and was calming. And when my wife ran into a problem with her piercing, she was very quick to get her in to swap out the stud for a hoop which relieved her pain and seems to be healing well. Id recommend anyone to high voltage for a piercing. Havent had any tattoos from them yet so I can not speak on that part.

I brought my 2 grandchildren to get their ears pierced. The shop was immaculate. Jessie was incredible with the kiddos. Very gentle, soft spoken and kind. Meeting Mark was a pleasure as well. Thank you!! I highly recommend their services!

My partner and i went here yesterday for me to get two tongue piercings and him getting a septum. the piercer girl (didnt tell us her name) was just unprofessional. touching things with gloves on and not changing gloves, and did not walk us through our piercings at all. i have some piercings already so she may have not thought she had to but to me thats just being professional. then she totally messed up my tongue piercings (they were was too close together and so i just said to take the one out) as well as my partners septum (crooked). she then told me she would give me a free piercing after messing up, so whatever i decided on a labret which is crooked as well. very very very disappointed and will never go back here.

High Voltage is friendly, accommodating and uses the highest integrity standards for health and safety! Owner, Mark did my recent tattoo. It is perfect! Mark is experienced and helped me choose how to adjust the tattoo location based on skin differences I did not understand near foot and ankle. I have a sharpen and recolor tattoo in the near future, Definitely High Voltage! The art and design is exactly what I wanted. Tattoo shops come and go all the time. I am very particular being that I love my tattoos but only have a few very thoughtful tattoos. I felt the price was very competitive. I probably could have paid a little less but business longevity, skill, and permanent body art are well worth getting what you pay for. Had my nose pierced there years ago and love that to!Regardless of Mark being the owner.... Tip your artist well! Tattoos are a complex art!

Tl;dr This place is wonderful for people who don’t have any metal allergies but for people like me it is not the best.I came to get my ears pierced. Overall the experience was very nice when it comes to service and how clean everything was. I did however have issues with the jewelry selection. I have a nasty nickel allergy that when I wear earrings with nickel they swell up much more than normal, I have severe itchiness, extreme redness, as well as a non-stop burning pain in my ears. When I asked about nickel free earring options I was given very little to choose from as the rest had nickel. I chose my jewelry and got pierced like normal. About 24 hours later I had a pretty severe allergic reaction to the jewelry in my ears. The reaction was so bad I had to sanitize everything and change the jewelry to a new pair.

My mom and I both got our ears pierced. The woman who did my ears was very nice. The place seemed very clean and sanitary and had a good environment. The price was also less than other places that I’ve looked at.

So I just recently got a tattoo from here two days ago. My tattoo is wonderful, although what I wanted covered is still a little noticeable. Mark did my tattoo and if your not into pain I would suggest having the other guy do it because Mark is extremely heavy handed, atleast with that I wont have to worry about fading. It was then covered with a paper towel which I wasnt fond of and of course its extremely sore because it is on my hip bone but other than that the design is great the prices are great and they do what you want with no argument so I would recommend then!!😄

After a year the tattoo I got here looks like the one my dad got in the 60s. In comparison with my other tattoos done elsewhere in which the detailing is still very clear and sharp. Easiest way to verbalize comparison for detail appearance... My other tattoos look like they could have been drawn on w a fine point pen... Whereas this one? Crayola crayons. Very disappointed and looking for someone who can make something out of this that will look better for longer. My other tattoos are decades old and still look new.

I came here yesterday with my friend to get a piercing done and realized I forgot my mask right before I walked in the door. When we walked in the first thing the lady said to me was “do you have a mask” to which I said “no I’m sorry do you have one I could use”. Without saying anything she walked over to her desk sat down pulled out a mask and in a rude tone said “it’ll be $1”. I thought that was strange seeings how I’ve never been charged for a mask when walking into a public place however I wanted to respect the mask policy since this was a small shop. I felt like she was annoyed with me and had an attitude which I felt was very unnecessary. My friend drove us so I genuinely didn’t have a mask. Not even in the car otherwise I would’ve went out and grabbed one. I was still respectful and put on a mask (and paid for it). As we stood there while she was getting our paperwork ready I was still thinking about our first interaction and how I wasn’t sure if I wanted to give her my business after the attitude she had given me. A few seconds later I realized she herself wasn’t wearing a mask and hadn’t been since we walked in. At that point I was positive I would not be giving her my business since she was so concerned with me not having a mask on when she wasn’t even wearing one. I told my friend I wasn’t planning on getting pierced here but if she wanted to she could and then I would go somewhere else. My friend and I decided to just leave and go to another shop. I was pretty disappointed because I have heard good things about this place and was excited to try it out. I work in Batavia so it would’ve been more convenient for me but after yesterday’s visit I won’t be returning. Im not the type to ever leave a review let alone a bad one but I was very upset yesterday. Like I said I respect people’s mask policies especially in smaller businesses but I am not ok with people being rude about it especially when I forgot my mask on accident and quickly and nicely tried to fix the problem. Im not sure if she was having a bad day or if she thought I was stupid for not wearing a mask but either way she lost two costumers over it.

Wentto get my daughters ear pierced. I didnt realize that I couldnt bring my 9 month old son in because of current Covid state rules. The woman apologized over and over again but I just had my daughter take the baby outside while I signed off on her piercing. I waited outside (it took about 5 minutes) and afterwards she wanted to make payment as easy as possible without taking the baby in. The shop was very clean and she was very professional. I appreciated how much she apologized for the inconvenience (although very minor) even though it was out of her hands. We will be going back, Im sure!

I didn’t catch the woman’s name that did my two piercings but she was super sweet and made sure I was okay during the entire process and the piercings turned out beautifully. I highly recommend

Hello. just wanted to share i got my first piercing done here it took 2 minutes to actually get the piercing I am happy w my piercing I got it done around 1 month and its been doing great I even changed it from the original but to high grade quality. The woman I had was very sweet and very cleanly it barely hurt Im an absolute child with pain so i recomend this place 😊💓 just got my septum done too and its doing great ✨

READ BEFORE GOING!!!!!This was back in march of 2022. I went there got it scheduled once for march 11 two days before the guy called and asked me to reschedule for the 20th went there he was sick so rescheduled AGAIN for march 31st. Went there store was closed I messaged the store and they said I wasn’t on there when I had the appointment card on there. I asked for a refund and took my good money somewhere else. Will never go back again.

Kate did my tongue piercings it costed $85 I was out in probably under 15 minutes I was very comfortable and got well educated on my piercings because these were my first oral piercings she did amazing to avoid my veins which I was very worried about getting denied service because of that they look amazing and I am so happy it was well worth the hour drive highly recommended and very convenient hours

Fixed a major mess up that I had done by another artist. I am super happy about the work. They were friendly and made you feel comfortable. I am going back in October for my next piece.

Found this place by accident I am SO glad I did. I walked in for a nose piercing . They were kind, clean and professional. I can honestly say I have NEVER felt so comfertable getting pierced before. I will be going back for another piercing in the future.
