This was my first time doing a sound bath and I cant imagine it to be any better than this! Nic and his wife were the kindest, most welcoming couple ever and I definitely will be back again! In fact, I will be incorporating this into my routine mostly or twice a month! Absolutely loved it!!!

Got referred to this studio from a friend. Had a great experience working Raivo . Tattoo came out amazing. His detail work with fine line is very impressive. Looking forward to getting more work done with him.

Amazing experience! I’ve booked with Raivo for 2 tattoos and he is top notch at what he does. He provides helpful suggestions and direction, but always makes sure you are getting what you want. His attention to detail is very welcome and he makes you feel comfortable.I’ve been incredibly happy with both of my pieces from Raivo—a 2x1” and 3x2” piece. Both are of anime characters.The studio itself is not your typical dark and grungy tattoo place playing metal. Instead, it’s a really cute, bright and clean studio with really calming music playing. Lots of Japanese inspiration in its aesthetic.

Hori Maki did an amazing job on my first tattoo! She was very responsive to what I was looking for, and also provided great advice on what to consider and how to think about placement. She did a really beautiful job and made me feel at ease. Nicolas was also super helpful in accommodating me and my partner who also got a great tattoo by Raivo. Inkedzen itself was a very relaxing and calming space. If and when I’m ready for my next tattoo, I will definitely be in touch — even to travel from Brooklyn to LA!

Hori Maki is by far the best tattoo artist I have ever been tattooed by. The experience with Maki has just been an amazing one. She is the most talented artist ever. There is a funny story how I came to Inked Zen. I had been searching for someone that would have experience in traditional Japanese tattooing. So I asked “Siri” and guess what ”Siri” came through and Hori Maki and Inked Zen popped up. It is now my forever place.Stay tuned photos coming.

Obsessed with our tattoos!! I cannot say enough about Inked Zen! After my last session on my piece, my husband started on his cover up process. Maki achieved beyond our expectations and completed his cover up seamlessly. We were traveling back and forth from SF to LA to complete and it was worth every moment. The studio is a vibe! also the relaxation we need after a trip. It holds a calm serene energy I never I knew I needed when getting extensive tattoo work done. Zero issues with healing, in fact it turned out to be surprisingly quick as well as maintaining the clarity of the piece. I couldn’t be more happier and impressed by the whole process. The experience during the beginning to the end of my journey with Maki was truly sensational. I truly admire her knowledge and passion of the art that I have come to deeply respect. Maki is meticulous in her work and gives her all in what she does, she is a true master in her art. I will always cherish our fun, hilarious and candid conversations during our sessions. I am incredibly honored to meet such a rare soul.

Inked Zen is my favorite place to get a tattoo in Los Angeles.Located in a private studio in Beverly Hills, Maki has created an amazingly comfortable and private place to get a tattoo. Not only is she an amazing tattoo artist but she runs a very clean shop. I highly recommend everyone to pay Maki a visit and consult with her for your next tattoo.

Nicolas was extremely helpful in answering all my questions and booking my appointment. He even talked to me afterwards to make sure I was happy with my tattoo and the service provided. Raivo did the actual work. My tattoo was not one he had done before and he took a lot of time to show me options and make sure we settled on something I would be super happy with. The space is beautiful and relaxing. You don’t even hear La Cienaga traffic outside. Very clean and professional! I love my tattoo!

Raivo is precise and delicate just like his tattoos. The tattoos I got with him are healing so well, I can’t believe it. No itching or scabbing.They’re beautiful and gentle just like the rest of his work.

I discovered Horimaki last year on instagram and instantly loved her work. An opportunity arose for me to book an appointment with her and I did so without any hesitation. Upon entering Inked Zen, I felt very at ease; the name of the studio truly resonates with the atmosphere. You have to take off your footwear upon entering, which I appreciated, being Asian myself. The space itself was very clean and slick with Japanese influence which I loved. The sound master/designer Nic kept the space a soothing environment with his carefully curated music and sounds. At one point he was even playing music from one of my favorite music producers of all time, J Dilla. The vibes were on point.Maki was very patient with me as I was stuck between a few ideas that I had in mind for my arm tattoo- she showed me some examples and pitched her ideas and thoughts about what I had in mind. Ultimately, I chose to get her signature flower, the kiku. During the process, which took about 4 hours, I had great conversations with Maki. She is very kind, intelligent, and true to her Japanese roots. I had told her that I wanted to come back for a Japanese style sleeve and I was bouncing off ideas about what I should include in the sleeve, given that I was currently getting a kiku. Not only did she educate me on the proper subjects that would go hand in hand with kiku, she also explained why others would not work. She then told me about the traditional way of how authentic Japanese tattoo artists structure and design their work. Maki is a true master of her craft and holds so much knowledge and wisdom about what she does and the Japanese culture as a whole, which I loved to hear about since I am very fond of the culture.The tattoo turned out amazing as expected. Details were insane. This was all free hand too!! I will definitely be back. Arigato Maki and Inked Zen🙏

Maki created a tattoo for me that is extra special. Her attention to detail and the body was amazing. I have never healed from a large tattoo that quickly. She was very professional and very sweet person.Nick sound bath are amazing. I have been to a few prior to attending his and I have never left so relaxed and in tune with my mind as I do with his. He is very focused on his craft and each sound bath is a different positive experience. Highly recommend this shop for both.

I have been getting tattooed by Horimaki, owner and artist at Inked Zen for a few years. I could not be happier with her work. She is a true master of the craft. Her studio in Beverly Hills is a true Zen space. Other artist are also really good and everyone is very professional and polite. Go check it out. You won’t regret it.

Maki is an AMAZING artist and did two 1/2 sleeve cover-ups for me. I had previously checked out her work on Instagram and was immediately drawn to her beautiful freehand work and detailed style. Her freehand tattoo cover-up completely TRANSFORMED the tattoos I had gotten before, and she was very open to my ideas as well - which made me a lot more comfortable working with her. She is an AWESOME person and a WONDERFUL artist! Thank you Maki!!!

I had such a great tattoo experience here! I walked in on a random Saturday, and they were able to take me. The atmosphere is great, very zen as the name would suggest. I think it would be a great place for someone who might be nervous about getting a tattoo, or even just prefers a less chaotic environment. My tattoo artist, Raivo, was super patient with me while I described what I was looking for, and he drew it out, edited it, and resized/repositioned it on my body. I’m a little OCD and I felt bad for how particular I was being about everything, but he didn’t seem to mind at all and was so sweet the whole time. The tattoos turned out exactly as I wanted them!! Will definitely be back for my next one :)

We flew to Hawaii to have tattoos done by Maki. She had done a beautiful back piece for my bf and we knew we wanted her to do the tattoos for my daughter and two nieces. This was the first tattoo for all three of them. Needless to say they turned out stunning and the girls were over the moon with excitement! Maki shows great pride and care in her interaction with her clients. She puts much thought and insight into each piece to ensure the best placement and in our case the history behind the use of Japanese mon. This place is amazing! The inside is so beautiful and the vibe is so serene and everyone is very welcoming and the artists are always top tier and took all the hassle out of getting a tattoo and made it very enjoyable.
