Jonathan was absolutely amazing today. My wife and I came in to finish off our weekend honeymoon getaway and he got us in and gave us exactly what we were looking for. My wife and I heard about Royal gorge from a friend. Art work is awesome artist is fast and has a light accurate hand. The place is really clean and well setup. They did two pieces of art and a naval piercing for my wife. I personally have been trying to get my tattoo done for a few years but artists kept dropping the ball not this time designed and done in less than 72 hours. Cannot tell you how excited I am and looking forward to many more.

Jonathan was absolutely amazing!! I told him what I wanted he added his own twist and it came out absolutely incredible. Explains things, super light handed and cares about his work. Will be going back to him!!

6 of us came in a fairly spontaneous decision to get matching tattoos and this shop did an amazing job on us! Jonathan was super fast and efficient. My tattoo took all of 15 minutes and the others took even less. Tuesday was the other artist and despite being newer did a fantastic job. And their rewards program is a great deal.Edit: updated a week later with additional picture. Unfortunately I do have some blowout but I am hopeful it will not get any worse. Still overall pleased with the shop and I believe I am the only one that had any blowout. Lines are still generally fairly clean for such a fine line tattoo. Take the picture with a grain of salt as it is only a week old and still healing!Edit: update with picture 2 weeks after tattoo. Still looking pretty great. Blowout stayed under control and is super reasonable considering the delicate lines. I have no hesitation using this shop again!

My husband and I were visiting the area for our 3rd Wedding anniversary and decided to finally get ourselves the tattoo weve been talking about for a while. Jonathan and his staff were very friendly and helpful helping us get the design just right. Professional, courteous, quick.

**Update**: although my tattoo turned out ok, it did get infected and took over a month to heal. He did have a template to work with, so nothing was spelled wrong, but there are a couple letters that aren’t super clear…This tattoo place is great! I made an appointment online for the next day. I sent an image of an idea for what I was wanting. Jonathan drew up exactly what I wanted. He was quick and professional. Very clean as well. Great customer service, and reasonably priced too. This will be my go-to place for my next tattoo for sure! Thank you!!

We had talked doing about this for awhile and today we pulled the trigger. We are visiting for our Anniversary. While eating, We looked for and found a local tat shop.We called and talked with the owner, Johnathan, and he said he could do a custom tat as a walk-in. We walked in, probably drove his wife nutzoid with our multi-changing customizations, and walked out with some new ink.If you ever find yourself over here and want some ink, go checkout this shop. They were amazing, went beyond being patient, were incredibly helpful, crazy reasonable, and got us done, in and out in about an hour.Id post pics but Google isnt giving me that option. Grrr

They all have amazing customers service and they are all so nice the tattoo artist is so amazing I absolutely love my tattoo

My sister and I came in for a walk in appointment because we were traveling from Oklahoma to spread our Fathers ashes. We decided to get matching tattoos to commemorate.Tuesday was our artist and she was amazing. We showed her our design and after sketching one of them she thought that she could find a better, more clear design. She showed it to us and took the time to redraw it because she wanted it be a really good memorial piece. She was patient and kind which given the reason we were there was so very appreciated. I love my tattoo and I am so grateful to have had a compassionate artist. Thank you Tuesday!!!

Tuesday was awesome!! Me and two of my best friends decided to commit to getting matching tattoos this year and went to the shop to see if there was any availability. Tuesday gladly helped us out and the whole process took less than 2 hours. We are all super pumped about our tattoos and are very grateful for her flexibility and talent.

Had both eyebrows pierced, and they are uneven. I was told that it was my fault for approving where the mark was at, but it wasnt done properly. Very unhappy with the work, and the owner made no attempt at making it right . UPDATE! I went to a professional and was told that my piercings were very shallow, meaning that it wasnt a correct piercing in both brows. He didnt clean the jewelry or my brows, so I reported him to the health department. Johnathon is so bad that I reported him to the better business bureau

Honestly for my first tattoo I couldn’t have asked for a better artist than Johnathan, super respectful and down to earth. I will definitely be coming back sooner than later.

Got my first tattoo and it really does feel like a cats claw scratching your skin, I wasnt used to it since I longer have my cat. Jonathan did an amazing job on my tattoo. Will be coming back for more in the future. 100/10. Also got my nose pierced on the right side and it started to bleed quite a bit but they cleaned it up and also gave me a alcohol wipe for me to clean my nose up a little more since it wanted to bleed some more. But everything went well. My dad got the medusa, and snake bite piercings as well. Highly recommend this place!

It was nice to see one of my images being used in downtown Canon City, but it is not nice to see it being used illegally!! I am the artist and owner of the Royal Gorge Bridge image being used on the banner above the door at your shop and I do have commercial licensing fees for its use. We do not have any agreement for your use of my image! As an artist yourself, I am sure you know the seriousness of copyright infringement!! You will be hearing more from me about this issue!

I had set up two separate appointments for my daughter to get her ears pierced. She was so excited and dressed up to get her pretties done. Twice you broke her heart. Twice we show up and the shop is locked and no one is there. No call no show. I even called for her appointment twice today with no answer and no call back. That is ridiculous, if someone sets up an appointment and you can’t be there call and let them know! If you don’t want the business don’t have one.

I am very pleased with the service I received!!! He was a very kind person explained how the procedure works, no surprises I messed up with setting my appointment, but he was super chill and understanding!!!! Very pleased!

First off, Tuesday Saint is the absolute best receptionist/artist! I personally always get my work done by Chase. He is incredible and super curtious. Shop is clean and staff are wonderful. The folks who are leaving bad reviews have got to be new to the tattoo community. I have Been tattooed here 8 times and my experience has always been wonderful.

Jonathan is absolutely awesome! I got my third tattoo by him yesterday and it exceeded my expectations. He was doing a Friday the 13th deal and not only did mine but 5 of my friends , and we all love them. He was extremely busy and still made time to talk and joke as he would on any other day. While I was getting my tattoo we even talked about the next tattoo I would get by him. 10/10 recommend this shop and specifically Jonathan himself!

John did an amazing job on all three tattoos he has done for me, and the matching one he did on my brother. Both times he has gone an hour later then closing to make sure the tattoos got done and looked good I would definitely recommend getting a tattoo from him.

I got my septum done and two tattoos done here and I could not be happier with the results! I got both tattoos done by Jonathan, the first one being my first tattoo ever. Jonathan is very honest and open with when he starts the tattoo process all the way to the end of the session, his work is gorgeous and precise and he has a good sense of humor. If anyone knows what they are doing and goes to all the lengths to do it correctly, it’s Jonathan. 10/10 experience.

Have been here multiple times, normally a great experience but this last time I went the owner straight up told me my tattoo wasnt worth his skill and time. His shop was empty at the time by the way. He did eventually do the tattoo after speaking with his wife, who is very sweet. But his lines were not straight, would not normally bother me as much but he did yell at and suspend an apprentice for a messed up line that the customer (my aunt) wasnt even upset about, and lied to me about one of the lines. So was a really great experience until I delt with the owner. Greatly disappointed.Response to owners response: Its quite sad that you feel the need to make up excuses and place blame on others. Normally I would see chase but he was no longer an artist there this last time I went. Im not a disgruntled friend, just a disappointed previous regular customer.

Went in the shop last minute, wanted to get a pretty small tattoo and immediately felt welcome. The shop is clean and employees were very helpful and kind. Amy ended up doing my tattoo and I left feeling very pleased and the tattoo she gave has been healing great. 10/10

The piercer was amazing working with my six year old to get her ears pierced. His method for calming the nerves was awesome. I expected to have to coach mydaughter through the second piercing, but she didnt even make a peep after the first one. We will be back with our next little for sure.

My dad was going through cancer and saved the money for my mother to get a rose tattoo. One side of the rose is bigger than the other. The thorn is upside down, And there was splash added that she did not ask for, When she asked them to fix it they were going to charge $225

The owner is a joke if you have a problem. Look at any bad reviews. He will belittle you and act like you have no idea what your talking about. DO NOT GO TO THE APPRENTICE! Basement worthy quality for professional prices. Spent 100 dollars to fix a 120 tattoo outline done by the apprentice. 10/10 do not recommend the apprentice.They have an amazing piercing guy and he knows all the ins and outs of his practice.

Traveled from Oklahoma to ride the train, stopped in and asked if they would take some walk ins, they got us in within a couple of hours! Great experience with the most friendly staff and tattoo artist. Clean lines on his tattoos and great price! Highly recommend.

Horrible customer service will not work with people that were pierced by other artists, told me they can’t do cover up tattoos they were very prude and stuck up

A few weeks ago my wife called and texted an artist about a tattoo, when we were ready we called and made an appointment, we missed due to us both getting sick and called to let them know. When we were both feeling better we called and reset up the appointment for six. We got caught in traffic, called and asked if 630 was okay and they said yes. Got their at 615 and got turned away and they said it was because we missed too many appointments. We only missed one and they filled ours and we were even earlier than expected. Dont be late or theyll fill your appointment even if they know youre gonna be late. Terrible business hopefully they dont give peoples appointments away if theyre on time but it wouldnt surprise me if they did.Edit: no we made one appointment. You are a terrible business and are trying to save face because you know giving away our appointment when we informed you we were going to be late and you still told us to come was wrong.

Got a tattoo from Amy the other night, Ive been staring at it since and I LOVE it!! HIGHLY recommend her; shes an amazing artist and has an amazing vibe to make the experience perfect!!! I will definitely be going back soon!!!

I mean we where do i even begin with this place? My sibling for had an appointment ( for their birthday)set up at this place, we walk in and supposedly the piercer was tending to his wife which is bed rested. Which I completely understand! But we had called and set an appointment so I felt we were treated unfairly.Also the lady at front desk took a minute to come up from the back she was honestly pretty rude. She didnt really apologize for any of the inconvenience so costumer service isnt this places strong suit. We waited for about 30 minutes and nothing was happening.to top it off the place really didnt feel too welcoming and there were flies everywhere. It shocks me this place has such a high rating.

Not enough staff to be able to just go in and look at jewelry options for sale. I went duriing business hours, doors locked, a number written on window, so i call. Guy says hes the only guy there tattooing in the back. He cant come to door. He said Id have to call and make an appointment to look at jewelry.

This place is amazing! Tattoos are done so neat, I got mine done by his apprentice and she did an amazing job I recommend this place highly! I also got my tougne repierced here and he was very gently when he did it. I couldnt have gone to a better place then this! I will be coming back here to get more work done.

I absolutely loved my experience!!! I did the mystery $25 tattoo and I got Pluto I think it is so cute. Tuesday was my artist and she did an amazing job on me and my friend. I can’t wait to go back!!

Do not waste your money or time....If you are from out of town just ask your friends first!!!!!!!!First I tried to talk to them to simply inform them that they needed cleaner and better care during tattoo process at least when it comes to their apprentices but apparently they dont wrap unless you ask and I did ask. But I guess signing the consent form..... sorry not guess his disgusting texts back to me was thats what I signed and payed for. Look at his response to everyone that has 1 star. This guy is not to be trusted this place is a terrible place to get a tattoo. I have cleaned it, taken care of it Im on antibiotics.I had changed my tattoo idea several times because she was uncomfortable, and didnt seem capable so I kept simplifying and then settled by making it just the butterfly for her. wish Id just listened to my gut and left but wanted to give a new artist a chance!!!The first thing I did was run to walmart to get supplies then went to my friend who is an emt to take care of it. I rarely ever leave negative comments. 290 dollars for this tiny infected butterfly.Wasnt going to leave a review was just going to inform her boss to talk to her but instead he lashed out. stay away.

I loved my piercing experience here and it was honestly the best best piercing experience I had with a piercer! I got my Vertical Labret done here and it is even and it was quick and painless. I was pierced by Darien Orton and she was so sweet and very reassuring. I recommend and I can not wait to come back.

The shop was super nice and accommodating. I was so happy to see the prices for their work too. They were able to get me done quick and we’re courteous through the procedure. I’m very thankful to have found this shop and the positive experience with it.

My friend and I came to Royal Gorge to get tats and piercings. They were very timely, we got a piercing appointment set up just a few hours before and when we showed up I decided I wanted a tattoo, and they were able to fit me in almost immediately! The employees were very kind, listened well to what I wanted, played great rap, and my tattoo (which granted was pretty simple) only took 15 minutes and it looked exactly how I wanted. Its beautiful and i cant stop staring at it lol. The prices were incredible as well, $50 for my 4 inch linework tattoo and $40 for my friends two piercings, both done by Jonathan. Highly highly recommend! Thank you guys so much!

This is the most unprofessional tattoo shop I have ever stepped into. As you can tell he argues with every single bad review there is I am sure he will argue with this one and put the blame elsewhere. When you are getting a piercing or a tattoo you want someone who will make you feel comfortable and he is NOT it!!!

Had matching tattoos done by Amy 😊 she did an amazing job , the line work was clean and crisp . The tattoos came out AMAZING . She was easy to talk to and didnt make it weird either . Very professional. Will most definitely be going back to have more work done by her !!!

Me and my boyfriend went and got piercings done and we are very satisfied on how they turned out! He was telling me about how this is his new favorite spot to go! We will definitely be going back for more!

Called yesterday to see if walk-ins would be available for today for a tattoo. Was told that someone would be here at 9am to do a tattoo for my wife and I. So we show up at the business and low and behold the doors are locked and the place is closed. I call the place twice and get a call back from the owner stating no one will be in until 12ish, even though I was already told 9. Guy told.me he would let me know and he could fit me in after 2pm. After 2pm, he texts saying I can come. So when I do, I present a tattoo, a small bracelet sized tattoo, in which he said $120, which was ridiculous. I wanted a quote for a small 1X2 N7 logo tattoo on my forearm and he said $200. Totally way overpriced. So I went to the Dungeon to get a quote and they quoted me $75 for either one. Moral of the story, this place did not get my business and Dungeon did my first tattoo today and the second one will be done in January. He also quote my wifes tattoo at $100 and said that no one would pay charge less..... the Dungeon is charging us $75 each tattoo. I wont do business here, and the Dungeon will have my full support instead.

My daughter and I drove an hour to get her tongue peirced. Got there and the store was very clean, people were so friendly everything was great.... except for the fact he didnt put the bottom ball on good at all. It took 2 hours to get home. A drive that could have taken an hour or less because I had to keep stopping to put the bottom ball back on.... not to mention my dirty fingers had to be in her mouth to do so and she was in pain. They were ok but I honestly cant say I would recommend them for piercing.UPDATE** response to the owners response. I have had my tongue done twice. Not by your store (thankfully) Neither of those times did this happen and if the ball was on just fine it wouldnt be coming off in less than 20 minutes of leaving the shop and countless other times now would it?... But looking through reviews it seems to have happened to more than just my daughter at your shop and your responses are much the same. Kinda rude and nothing is your fault. Very unprofessional not owning up to mistakes and faulting everyone else. But its ok 😊 now we know to tell our friends and family about our experience. The one star rating was well earned 👏 👌

Sheldon was amazing! I had never gotten an intimate piercing done before, and he encouraged me and guided me through the process. He even was on call when I needed an adjustment on my piercings after a week of healing! I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else for my piercings! Both Sheldon and Custom Tattoos have a customer for life and I will give nothing but glowing recommendations to all my friends who are considering a new piercing!

I didn’t get any tats or piercings done but went in the get some tapers and the rings were broken, went in and got some new ones. He was super polite and helpful! Definitely recommend!!

Worst piercing experience I have ever had!! As a mother I was never asked for my ID until AFTER he did the piercing. I took my daughter there for a tongue piercing. Jonathan used a bar with plastic balls. They came loose a few hours later and she swallowed it. When he finally called me the next day I explained what happened and he basically said it was her fault. I asked him to redo the piercing. He agreed and told me to call before I went down. I called and he gave me attitude because he had just got home. He never said he was only working 4 hours on a Friday. He did the piercing again and used metal which he said is now not allowed due to new laws. And to top it off it is not even straight. He didnt even mark the spot and make sure it was ok with her. I would not recommend this shop for any piercings

I went to go get my nose pierced and my piercer was 15 minutes late getting back to the shop. During the piercing I did flinch a bit which was my fault but it seemed like she panicked because I was bleeding a lot and in the process of trying to clean it she pulled out the piercing and we couldn’t get it back in. She was very apologetic and sweet and offered to do it for free if I came back the next day. Unfortunately I’m afraid of needles so it takes me a while to work up the courage to get pierced in the first place. Will not be coming back to this place to get pierced in the future. Overall pretty disappointing.

Attempted to get my niece’s upper ear pierced. The man who owns or runs this place has DV perpetrator written all over him. He was nasty to the lady running the front counter as soon as he walked through the door. On the phone he said he could do the piercing and then when we got there he had an attitude and was totally disrespectful. This guy had no communication skills. I would not recommend.

Shady business; & I dont mean they shade well.Tattoo was interrupted for a piercing, was not informed, found out walking around looking for someone- tattoo was not finished -was told I would be scheduled after healing: tried to set that up, was given run around and told I would need to come after hours - paid 150 for about 40 minutes of sit time and did not get what I asked for at all- basically just colored in lines of a triqueta I asked him to finish.Not true, if I was so rude, why did you ask me to apprentice ? . I was perfectly happy until I realized you were not going to do the work - you didnt even know who I was the 2nd time I inquired about this, and that is when I became direct, not rude. I gave you an opportunity to make it right before giving this review but after 2 months of getting the run around not only will I never endorse you or your work, but I will warn others of your appaling lack of Custmer service or satisfaction. By artist you mean you, and you refused service AFTER I paid you 150 and did not give me any sort of refund.

I have a messed up tattoo from the owner and he messed up my piercing on not only me but my mother too. Mine was crooked and so was hers. He also went too deep in her belly button piercing. I had to go get it re-done and waiting to get my tattoo fixed

Left 2 messages. Went to shop was told artist couldnt be found. Called &left message. Finally returned call. Couldnt do next day because of his birthday. I suggested Saturday he said fine. I said what time he said up to you. I said 9 or 10 he said 10. Showd up at 10 appt. Door open, lites on, tv and filthy fish tank running. Called him he said appt was at 9 I said no 10 he said no 9. It was on his computer. Asked if hes coming he said already been there Said spending day with kids going to baseball game. I told him his place was f:;,ed up and hung up and left.

My Husband got a tattoo from this shop about a year ago. Time has not made it any better , Unfortunately instead of a beautiful peice for our first son he has what could only be described as a coloring page on his chest.Do yourself a favor and research the shop extensively. A close friend also got a peircing from the shop by an apprentice and the girl used the same needle twice to peirce his nostril.. 2 holes for 1 peircing.

I was in contact with the owner off and on for 2 weeks trying to do a simple cover up of swirls coming off a name on the whole inside of my forearm was going to turn it into lightning and he told me its not worth his time he couldnt stencil it for some reason after he had a picture of it and I came in twice after calling ahead to see if he could draw it on and let me sit with it for a day or two and he said its not worth his time I did it with a pen in 3 mins I guess he expects you to give him an idea and then when you come in to see it he expectsyou to get the life long tattoo immediately or else its not worth his time trying to make his customers happy will not be coming back or recommending to anyone
