Almost Famous Body Piercing

I hate this place so much. They haven’t had a piercer on staff for months. They will gladly sell you the jewelry, but won’t put it in for you. You have to leave the store and put it in yourself. Then if you can’t get it in or it doesn’t fit, you can’t return it! I wish they would close and get a real piercing studio in this mall.

Had the sweetest employees help me out!! Today I came in as a birthday present for myself and the employees were super sweet, patient, and encouraging! I ended up getting two piercings and the piercer was awesome, talked to me about each step while they were doing the piercings. They used the needles for both and was all around great!Would absolutely come again for another piercing, they definitely know their stuff and gave me extra tips on piercing bumps, cleaning, etc!The piercers name is Mack, and the other employee helping with documents was wonderful as well!

BOTCHED PIERCING REFUSED TO REFUND MEI got a horizontal eyebrow piercing with a surface bar and it was very crooked and did not have the correct jewelry. This thing stuck out of my face about 1/4 inch on one side but far less on the other.They did not have any smaller jewelry available so I went to another shop.When I went to another shop to see if we could just replace the jewelry they told me the only option was to remove the jewelry and let it heal entirely.I decided to get the same piercing on the other brow from Amber at No Regrets Tattoo (I highly recommend her!) That one came out perfect.I took out the piercing from Almost Famous the day after I got it and asked for my money back. It took two days to speak to a manager and they said they dont do refunds. The only option was to let them try again. BUT THEY DONT STOCK THE CORRECT JEWELRY FOR THE PIERCING I WANT!!!So, I am out $75 on top off having an extra hole in my face and a lot of pain for nothing.***Clarification***Proper jewelry for this type of piercing has 2.5mm rise to accommodate for swelling, after healing you can switch to 2mm. The jewelry they put in me had a 6mm rise!!

Piercer Eren was super polite and professional and got the two of us in and out in under 30 minutes. They were running a buy one get one deal where my friend and I could split our piercing cost which was great value. Love my new helix! Thanks Eren!

All the reviews accurately depict the harsh reality of this job—its undoubtedly the worst work experience you could ever have. This is particularly true if youre considering applying to the Champaign location, the only one in Illinois. The management seems to have forgotten about us, leaving the staff to manage themselves almost 100% of the time. Working without adequate resources makes the job incredibly challenging.Beware of the managers; they are truly the worst and engage in gossip about the employees. One coworker even assumed the role of manager due to Kates incompetence. Despite the coworkers dedication and hard work in fulfilling managerial duties, management praised him to his face while undermining his leadership abilities behind his back. Our store faced internet issues for months, forcing us to submit our time stamps to Kate, who then proceeded to reduce our pay, leading several employees to resign.The numerous one-star reviews speak volumes about the unfavorable working conditions. Avoid joining this sinking ship, as evidenced by the 20 employees who quit within the first five months of their employment. If youre considering a piercing position, be cautious—they might hire you under false pretenses. The piercing trainers extended absence in North Dakota for 6-8 weeks adds to the deception. My coworker, sent to train as a piercer, was abruptly sent back to Illinois after just one week. It seems they are just hiring and firing people without genuine consideration. Save yourself the trouble and do not work here.

Absolutely love this place! Its clean, the staff is very professional, and there were so many rings and studs to choose from! There was a BOGO sale so my friend and I went half and half and got our Daith done. Such a great deal and Brittany was nothing but amazing! Will definitely be back! 💜

It took 3 trips to get the piercing done. I think you need more than 1 person on the floor in here. Its so busy and there are a lot of steps for 1 person to go through for piercings. The line is long and the wait is not great. The poor girl that was helping us the day of the piercing was overwhelmed and understandably so. When it came time for it to happen Jasmine was wonderful. She was very sanitary, informative and sweet. Overall good experience. Just took a while to get there. :)

Got this daith done in both ears. I cant even describe the emotional waive of relief after the right side was pierced. So much pressure relief and nausea gone. I just sat there and cried tears of joy as the pressure was leaving my head. Literally the best thing I have ever done. Im so happy. Thank you so much and I will recommend you to everyone.

Went for an ear piercing. It was very overpriced and the selection for a simple stud was minimal. They said they could put in a (industrial) bar too if I didn’t like the selection. Keep in mind all I wanted was a simple helix cartilage piercing.I booked an appointment and then ended up cancelling after watching them touch my jewelry with no gloves and drop it and put it my baggie for later. Ended up going to a tattoo parlor I’ve gone to in the past instead.

5/5! I’ve gotten my ears, nostril and septum pierced here over the span of 4 years. Each time has been a positive experience. I got my septum done today by Jack! They were thorough, had another person check to make sure everything was lined up, also had me check to see if I liked where it would be positioned! I felt comfortable and relaxed through the entire process! Entire facility was clean and all of the staff were amazing!

They infact did not pierce my nose. I waited for over an hour to get pierced and then gave up and went home. Later, I called and asked when they would be available and went at the time and day I was told. When I got there, I waited once again for over an hour. Multiple people walked in after me and were pierced before I was. I decided to go home and give it one more try. I called again and checked when they would be ready for me. I went in at said time and waited for at least an hour and a half. The breaking point was when I watched a mouse run aross the floor and behind a display case. There were mouse droppings behind it and other cases. This is disgusting especially for a PIERCING store. It is incredibly unsanitary and I left and will never be going back. DO NOT RISK GOING HERE! FIND A MORE PROFESSIONAL ENVIRONMENT! I am so thankful I did not get pierced here. Please, just go somewhere else.

Ive gotten 2 different piercings here at 2 different times. My piercers were really sweet and informative, but unfortunately, both piercings came out completely crooked. My vertical industrial is so crooked and uneven, it causes a lot of pain, and it had to be taken out. My other piercing I saw the back end was crooked and took it out a week later.They bend your ear when theyre piercing, which can leave you with a crooked piercing that doesnt sit well with the way your ear NATURALLY sits, as its being pierced while bent!!The first time was bad, but I got a different piercer the second time and was hoping for good results which I did not get.I will not come back here again, and I do NOT recommend getting pierced here!

Best place to get pierced hands down. The staff is very sweet, informative, and professional. Sarah was an absolute delight! She was very caring and checking in on me every few minutes while doing my multiple piercings. She let me take a break when I needed to and double and triple checked that everything was what I wanted. I felt very relaxed and calm during the entire time I was there. She is very funny and just awesome to talk to. Will definitely being going back and will recommend anyone and everyone that if they are thinking about getting a piercing or need more jewelery to go here!!! Very very Happy about the entire experience!!!

I’ve bee getting pierced at Almost Famous in Champaign for the past 5 years. I’ve gotten my industrial, second piercings on my lobes, belly button, and nostrils done. My last appointment went extremely well, I went in to get a double nostril piercing and my boyfriend was getting his first piercings on his lobes. Jack was extremely kind, patient, and fun to work with. She made sure we got the exact placement we wanted and even stayed after closing time (we were their last clients). I will always recommend this place to get pierced. Plus, they have buy one get one free piercings 365 days a year, every year!

I went and got a peircing here for the second time today. My peircer was Jasmine, and she was so sweet! They give really good advice and the customer service was great. Went in at 11 am, and there were two people ahead of me, and I got peirced at 11:36! They run this place like a fine oiled machine. I got my nose peircing done about a year and a half ago, and I couldnt be happier with how it turned out. Now, I got my doubles in my ears, and the process was so clean and very professional. Love that they give you a private doctors office type room and all the sterilized tools. Also loved the cute gift bag I received as aftercare! its a nice smaller place that will really give you a bang for your buck.

Had Brittany as my piercer. She did an exceptional job at making me feel comfortable. Took her time, was very professional and was extremely friendly. I will definitely go back. The store itself has lots of different options for jewelry. The back where you get pierced is almost like going to the doctors office, it’s that clean and sterile. Hands down the best place to get pierced.

I was given the incorrect length post & a butterfly back earring for my new helix piercing so I ended up having to take the earring out & let the piercing close because there was no room for natural swelling to occur. A waste of $70. They dont really know what they are doing here - go to a certified piercer like No Regrets in Champaign, youll save yourself money & pain and they use actual high quality jewelry. My piercer was very nice, but didnt seem confident or that experienced.

I got a navel piercing here! the person who pierced me explained all the steps and took me through them very calmly. it was a lovely experience and i plan on getting pierced here again !I just got my nostril and septum pierced by Natalie here! it was a lovely experience and their energy was lovely! everything went smoothly and they explained everything amazing.

Worst experience ever. Very misleading. My daughter boughter an earring and was told it was $35. It rang up $58. We were NOT told the back was sold separately. We tried to return it within 20 minutes (never left the mall) , (never took the earring out of the bag) and they refused.

Do you ever leave a business and feel like you need a shower? Not because it’s dirty, but because of the disgusting customer service you received? I’ve read/heard horrible things about this place and, to be honest, I would not get within 10 feet of a needle in this shop! But I figured it was safe to buy jewelry here... or so I thought.My teen went in to buy a specific size piece. The shop didn’t have the size they wanted, but they were offered something similar (admittedly, they shouldnt have rushed it, but, they assumed the associate was knowledgeable). They bought the jewelry, left, further examined the jewelry, and then realized it was not near the size they wanted after all. We returned within an hour, receipt and jewelry in hand. I explained I understood their policy (there’s a cute sticker on the register), but seriously, could they please at least exchange the jewelry? It wasn’t what they thought it was. It hadnt been worn. It had only been one hour.The ‘manager’ there apparently loves to argue. I think shes had a lot of practice arguing with customers like myself. Really though, she should go into law… or telemarketing. The conversation went something like this:Her: “There are signs posted on every caseMe: I know, I said I understand the policy--I saw the stickerHer: “There’s a paper taped to the counter with text the length of a novella explaining everything…”Me: I did not read the novella.Her: We offer free jewelry switch outs so customers can try the jewelry on and make sure its what they want.Me: Im sorry... what now? We werent told that.Her: Oh, its in the novella...Me: I did not read the novella.Her: Well, you had the opportunity to ask.ME: ...Her: All of these employees have been here less than 2 weeks...Me: Oh? Surely under the circumstances you can make an exception. You and I both know exchanging it now is no different than if my kid had had it switched out here an hour ago... and wed have done that had we known, but--Her: ITS IN THE NOV...Me: Turns and leaves.**END SCENE**She had a choice to work with a customer or dig her heels in to defend the policy that ClEaRlY cAnNoT bE bReAcHeD. Maybe she was trying to make an example of me for her new employees (also, why are there so many new employees all at once?! Can they not keep staff?)? Im not sure.LESSON: 1. Patronize one of the many knowledgeable and qualified locally owned and operated tattoo/piercing businesses in town. 2. Buy your jewelry online for 1/4 the price (its the same quality). 3. Avoid franchised body piercing businesses (red flags galore).

McKenzie did a great job with my cartilage piercing! I also really appreciate all the measures that almost famous body piercing is taking during this time. They took my temp prior to going in and they took my info at the entrance and I waited. I came back and they shortly took me back to their piercing area. It was very clean and the staff were very nice! Would definitely go back!

I love this place! 💖I recently got a labret piercing done here and it was the best piercing experience Ive ever had. My piercing is healing up well and looks amazing on me ;) (thanks ladies!) The store is bright, clean, and very affordable. The staff is friendly, polite, and professional. I also loved how knowledgeable all the staff is about the different kinds of piercings I had questions on. Almost Famous is a very impressive store! My favorite part (besides their many awesome choices of jewelry) was the atmosphere this place had. I will definitely keep going back to this place for more piercings and for jewelry. ✔💯👌

I just went in to buy a segmented septum ring, the one I really liked had a smaller diameter than my usual. The girl helping me asked her supervisor and trainer if it would be okay for me to use and the trainer said yes. When I went to put it in I experienced extreme pain, as it was too small. It wasn’t the fault of the girl helping me, but I wish the trainer had been more thorough and I wish I had known more to make sure that she was. The jewelry seemed very overpriced and on top of that no returns. I know it’s really no one’s fault it’s just super disappointing. I might recommend double checking with your usual piercer before purchasing anything, I know I wish I did.

I’ve been here twice and both times Rachel’s done my piercings. She is so awesome and educates you on your piercings and how to take care of them. I definitely recommend coming here it’s so clean and is like a doctors office by far better than a tattoo shop. She got me in 15 minutes before they closed. I wouldn’t want to get pierced any other place definitely recommend Rachel she’s so awesome and sweet and is great at answering any questions you have!

This is the place to go if you have kids that want professional, clean needle piercings. Jack took amazing care of my daughter when we went to have her ears re-done. She was so kind and patient. Truly outstanding service.

I would give them less than 1 star. I called them twice about a navel piercing and was told they don’t take appointments, it was walk in only. When I got there they told me I had to have an appointment and would have to wait 4 1/2 hours. They lady that helped us was very rude. They had very limited jewelry to choose from. I had an employee at Spencers tell me not to go there because they are not professional or clean. I ended up going to a tattoo shop, the piercer there told me they never recommended them because they are all “in training”. So glad I decided not to get it done there. Everyone beware and do your research before being pierced there.

Only rating two stars given that my ear piercings were done unevenly.The employees up front were also a little unprofessional while having a disagreement with one another.Piercing and customer service training would be beneficial for this team.

Mallory did my septum and upper cartilage piercings, AMAZING love this chic!!!!! She is so sweet, funny, and knowledgeable. She actually changed out my tragus earring, A few days prior and she answered all my questions that I had about the septum and cartilage. Its clean, the manager Rachel is AWESOME as well Iove her! Most definitely would recommend this to anyone and everyone. Will be back very soon.

First time going to this location, they were very kind and welcoming. It was quick, and my piercer washed her hands in from of me more then once while doing the prosses, talking me through what she was doing, and even made sure I was alright after(cause I dont like needles). I will be going back again.

Eren is wonderful! She did both my flat piercings and my friends daith and one flat. She was wonderful and kept talking to us which is nice and she is friendly and super clean place! Prices were great also.

Ive had both my daiths, a chest dermal and my nostril pierced here. Love how friendly the staff is, how clean the piercing rooms/equipment are/is, and the wide variety of high quality jewelry available. I will definitely be back as soon as I decide between doing my septum or other nostril!!

I came in to get my lobes pierced, Mallory helped me, she was a total sweetheart, the whole thing was quick easy and professional. Will definitely come back again! The clerks, Shelby, and Sarah FONG were also a great help, they knew all the info i needed and made the whole process super simple

Very bright, clean, and sterile environment. Very friendly and clean staff. The reason for the three star review is because the lady, Kayla from Mall of America, had to pierce my nose twice. She had just finished piercing two other septums and had to redo mine. I was NOT happy about this and probably should have voiced how I felt a bit more sternly and taken the jewelry leaving without a proper piercing, BUT I let her finish her job and put the captive hoop in. The piercing is still not straight and is not healing properly. I have been cleaning it twice a day, per their instructions, with their glycerin piercing soap. This has got to be the WORST piercing experience out of all 14 holes in my body. I would recommend purchasing your jewelry from them, but maybe think twice before the girls shove a needle through you, twice.

Sarah is the best! Front of house, the girls are very friendly and helpful. Sarah is an AMAZING piercer. She helped me pick out the piercings that I wanted and walked me through step by step the entire time. Cant wait to come back for more!

Went to get a piercing replacement for a front cartilage. Looked great, easy to place in, didnt touch it. The piercing jewelry lasted for day. It fell out of my ear and I couldnt find it. The person on the phone refused to replace it even though it wasnt put in properly, said there were no replacements in the shop, and only offered to help if I found it. So irritated that I lost an expensive earring.

Been meaning to write a review for here. I had gotten my labret pierced here and it ended up being pierced through the nerve and crooked. The woman who pierced it paused in the middle of the needle going through my lip. My husband got his snake eye piercing done by the same woman and while piercing it, she poked the needle through his tongue wrong, making it poke out in the middle. Instead of taking it out and getting a fresh needle she proceeds to pull it out and jam it back in anyways. Whenever I’ve gotten new jewelry from here they always cause me to swell up in that area no matter if it’s the materials I’m not allergic to no matter what piercing it is, septum, nose, lip, or tongue. It’s all just thrown together in cases, touching each other in piles. Not to mention the workers don’t use gloves to get out the new jewelry out of the cases.

What a great experience I had today! Sarah and Rachel were extremely professional and made me feel very comfortable throughout my whole nipples piercing ordeal. I was a bit scared & felt very Fifty Shades of Greyish; but I got through it! Thank you ladies ❣️

I went and got my wife a dermal. The store was clean the staff was friendly, and my wife loved her piercing. The only thing that was kind of annoying id that you have no choice but to buy their aftercare products. Though, it is understandable for first timer. Otherwise Sarah and the rest of the crue were Aces!

Got my vertical tragus done by Ashlee and it was a great experience! Usually get my piercings done at a tattoo shop but I liked this place better. She fully explained how to go through the healing process and how the piercing was going to be done, felt very comfortable!

I’m not gonna give them 0 stars because I have never been. BUT I have called twice attempting to get a piercing. First, I wanted a bridge piercing which their site stated they do. They informed me they do not, that was fine. Today, I call to inquire about a simple nostril piercing to be told that “our piercer isn’t in today”. Um, what?? Isn’t this supposed to be exclusively a piercing place? The name would imply so..

Rachel was amazing!!!! I was nervous to get my daith Piercing and she instantly calmed my nerves!!!! I had an amazing experience and every little detail not only about how the piercing would happen but also the after care was very well explained to me!!!!!

I recently got my nostril pierced and it was such a great experience for me. Everything was very clean, and looked like an actual doctor’s office. They were very informative and straight foward, but made you feel extremely comfortable. I would 100% recommend:)

I went to the store looking for tapers to take my 0g to a 00g. The consultant told me they would gauge me up for a low cost if I purchased a pair of plugs! Very nice!! Pristine clean facility. Jenny did the work for me and I was comfortable the whole time. I would definitely recommend!

My piercer was Jasmine the room was so clean it looks just like going into a doctors office she took so much time to make sure that she had the right spot to make sure she could get my normal in the right spot properly and her assistant though I forgot her name was very very sweet too best place Ive ever gotten a piercing love my chest dermal

Peircer Brittany is amazing, got my septum done about 7 months ago and just got my nostril done today both by her! Very professional place to get a peircing and staff is wonderful and friendly.

First off, I didnt get anything pierced, but I did ask a lot of questions. Thats just my nature. I went in with my girlfriend who was buying a new booger catcher as I call it. Nose piercing, L bend style to those less technical. The staff was very friendly, even with my constant barage of questions.I was able to convince my girlfriend to get a hoop nose ring instead of just the plain Jane style. Watching the lady put it in her nose was facinating. She was looking up the nose, down the nose, picking it, squeezing it. Way more work than I ever expected just to put in a hoop. I cant imagine getting other stuff pierced. That would be a closeness and friendship like no other.Overall, it was a meaningful trip. I am sure well be back when I can convince her to poke another hole. Bellybutton next time?!

I love all these girls that work here its clean they know what theyre doing. Ive had multiple piercings from here and not a single one of them hurt one bit! All my piercings turned out rad. These are the pros and they do about anything. Everyone needs to go here and no where else

I came in afraid to get my lip repierced. Taylor and another woman help calm my nerves and it made me feel better so I decided to get my nose done too. Taylor was the best and if I decided to do it again she will be the one that I would love to do it. Im telling all my friends about it. Thank you Taylor for helping me out.

Wonderful atmosphere and wonderful people! I got a labret piercing from Rachel and she was fantastic! Their aftercare products are great and they have a wide selection of jewelry, definitely recommend!

Improper dermal piercings became infected. Was told by a professional that this was improperly done, and we were advised to contact a lawyer. Do NOT use this place for dermal piercings.In reply to your reply... you would have no record of me, as it was my daughter you pierced. The pic is the results of that poor job. We had to have these removed a mere 3 mos after they were done, and they were terribly infected and have left large scars. The professional that removed them said even the anchor was improper, could not possibly heal right. Do NOT trust these people with dermals.

Never go to this place. They will mess up your piercing and make you pay them to fix it. Its people that just watched youtube and think they know what there doing...The only reason for us going back to them was because they would not refund the piercing or the ring. And we had to pay for another ring for them to fix it..

I just got a Medusa.. ALL the ladies that were working did an absolutely wonderful job.. I would go there again if I decide to get more pierced.. And Ill definitely be buying my replacements there.. Way to go girls!!.. Awesome experience

I bought 2 piercing from there not even a week ago my gem fell out of my nose ring and they can’t do anything about it the jewelry I get from Spencer’s is way cheaper and last way long

I’d give this place a one star rating, they had 4 workers today and had no one at the door to take temperatures and the guest would just wait until one of the workers realized there was someone there. As soon as a customer left, they would all go to the register and talk bad about the customer that just left :( They didn’t really go over with anything with us and when we wanted to take pictures they gave attitude and said it wasn’t allowed. But I mean if you would’ve told us before it would’ve happened. I would not recommend this place as there walk in only appointments, you will still be waiting an hour or more until you get your piercing.

Loved it my daughter got her belly pierced and her nose done..... they are very nice people here....... its not straight by all means but its ok I guess

These piercings here are high quality. The pain does not chip on these like some of the others you would buy. The staff is also very helpful and nice.

Very disappointed with my visit. A friend and I went here to get a few piercings and the staff member on shift was very rude and treated us as though we were stupid for not having the proper IDs because were only 15. If youre looking for a friendly service this is not the place to go.

I went in 3 days ago and got both my ears pirced an 8 gauge ,sarah was super helpful and it was painless.my gauges kept getting pushed out so i went in and they helped me out.

I went to Champaign,IL location today for Monroe piercing jewelry change.They assisted with new jewelry...Very pleaed not sure girls name but changed and hardly knew she had did anything.I have no complaints!

Hello I pierce the nose but the loop fell off I had to replace it I note that the troup is closed from the inside but the wound does not heal well is it possible to re-pierce it?

Theres never an actual piercer to...give you a piercing. Jewelry is ridiculously overpriced. Sorry ladies, Ill go somewhere else.

Brittany pierced my bridge, everything was super sterile and professional, and she did amazing on my piercing!

I recommend them 100% I got my nipples done and them made me feel good about my decision.

There is never a piercer available at a piercing shop, which is strange. I dont know why the store is even open and advertises piercings.
