Vellum Art Collective Tattoo Studio

I was back visiting family on the east coast and reached out to the artists and luckily Blyth had an opening. I originally asked for a couple of words and then when I got to the studio I had changed my mind and also wanted a little duck she was able to accommodate me and do both my original idea as well as the duck. Both pieces were memorial pieces for my dad who had just passed away.Blyth and I had nice light hearted conversation while she was tattooing and she was super sweet about making sure I loved the placement as well as the font. She also made sure that the words were the same black and needle size as a tattoo they would be next to so that it looked perfect.The atmosphere was so inviting and unlike any other shop I’d ever been in, you could tell it’s a very clean shop but I didn’t feel like I was in a doctors office like I have in other shops.I hope to get more work done by Blyth when I’m in town in the future!

I got my newest tattoo done by Blyth, she did such an INCREDIBLE job! She’s very thorough, precise, and makes you feel comfortable! The whole vibe of this shop is immaculate, very clean, and you can really tell how creative these artists are. Not to mention how adorable her office aesthetic is, Blyth is SUPER talented and a very kind hearted person. Seriously such a great job. I won’t be going anywhere else for my next tattoos!🥰

I’ve been going to Jake since before he opened this shop, and I can’t recommend Vellum Art Collective enough! As soon as you walk in the door you can feel that it’s a different vibe from the other tattoo parlors in the area. The building itself has so much character, and it’s both esthetically pleasing, and immaculately clean. The entire staff at Vellum are so friendly and approachable, and they have all of the necessities plus more (espresso and snacks) to make sure that you have a comfortable and 5 star experience. I personally love that each artist has their own open room off of the main seating area, as it gives you just enough privacy to be comfortable while getting tattooed, without feeling secluded or too tucked-away. You’re still able to interact with all members of the team throughout your appointment, but you can relax without feeling exposed to a room full of people. Each artist has their own unique style of art, that ensures that you can get exactly what you’re looking for! I’ve referred multiple friends to Jake, and none of them have ever left disappointed with their artwork. If you’re considering booking at Vellum, this is your sign to just do it!

Vellum Art Collective is the best studio I have ever gotten work done in. The space is inviting and comfortable, and each person is getting inked in a private room, not jammed next to four or five other people. I have over 85 hours of tattooing done on me, and this place is the best around. Jake has done the majority of both my full-arm sleeves, and I love every inch of them. Tattoos are forever make sure you get one you like. I highly recommend this studio and its artists.

Vellum is such a dope space. Lots of fun decor and trinkets to get lost in admiring if youre someone who enjoys the visual stimulation. Clean, organized and comfy space.Blyth is a gem. Super sweet, very kind and accommodating, and just an all around fun time. She was welcoming and easy to chat with which made my experience even better. I got my first tattoo for my 22nd birthday and was not disappointed. Blyth was absolutely the best! I loved the vibes, the transparency, the decor, and overall made my first time tattoo experience really great. Blyth used to work for tattoo removals, so she knows a lot about where tattoos will last longer, where they might be more prone to fading, etc. I appreciated the transparency of it and I knew I was in good hands. She made sure to ask questions and reassure that the placing/tattoo design was to my liking. At the end, the aftercare goodie bag was just the cutest. Would definitely recommend!

Got some small line work done by Blyth and they all came out amazing! She communicated really well, and I was checked on many times to ensure I was comfortable at all times, and that my tattoos were lined up and sized exactly how I want. I was provided with an aftercare bag as well! The shop was so unique, and the abundance of personalized decorations made the shop feel very warm and welcoming. I definitely felt like a valued customer the whole time!

Blyth exceeded our expectations beyond belief. My brother and I had a few ideas for a simple tattoo to honor our mom who passed. We gave her some ideas and she drew up many designs that we loved, and most importantly she absolutely killed the final tattoo. The shop itself was so welcoming and beautiful inside as well! I’ve been going to Jake for 8 years and haven’t let anyone else tattoo me since. Just recently, another phenomenal experience and 3 more sessions scheduled in the near future. If you’re looking for talented artists that won’t sacrifice quality, this is the place. My experience with Blyth was nothing short of comfortable, clean, and simply amazing. She was more than excited to work with me with the concept I had in mind for a small linework tattoo, and made the extra steps to make sure I felt welcomed and cared for before and during the appointment. Vellum Art Collective had an overall welcoming atmosphere with all the coolest quirky trinkets and artists who you can tell were family and made the space open to all. Quite possibly one of the greatest and most pleasant experiences Ive ever had getting a tattoo! Blyth was incredibly professional and made the whole experience feel very welcoming and I cant wait to get more tattoos from her. The shop has an amazing atmosphere and is filled with great art and decor that captures your attention and the room I received my tattoo in was jam packed with so many things to look at that before I could see it all my tattoo was finished. I was very happy with my tattoo and the line work was crisp and clean and my artist Blyth was wonderfully full of great conversation. Before I knew it my tattoo was finished and I will absolutely be coming back for more and would highly recommend this shop to someone whether its your first tattoo or your 20th tattoo. Theres not one negative thing I could say.

This shop is extremely professional. Jake took his time creating a unique and very detailed tattoo that captured all the elements I wanted working late both appointments. Blyth assisted me by answering all of my questions well in advance. Both of them were patient, kind, and clearly love the work they do.

I got my very first tattoo today from Blyth! I loved my entire experience. The studio had such a good vibe. I loved Blyths space. I felt comfortable and had a lot to look at while getting my tattoo. The BEST! My friend and I wanted to do a matching tattoo - we decided on the day before and contacted Blyth, who was ADORABLE and got us a last minute appointment. Best studio around! I have followed my artist Dakoda through 3 studios now and this one is my favorite by far. Such a beautiful, clean and professional space. The features of the old bank that it is built in are an amazing addition too! I havent met anyone but Dakoda personally but I have heard nothing but positive reviews of the other artists in the shop. Dakoda is one of the most caring and professional artists in the valley!

I had my ankle and foot tattooed by Blyth Campbell. She has the patience of a Saint!! Once Blyth stenciled my design on my ankle and foot, what I had selected from a picture (friend), I did not like at all. Blyth kept changing my design until finally I liked it. I got my first tattoo here, and my experience was absolutely amazing. The environment and Blyth herself was so comforting. Any anxiety I had about getting a tattoo was gone. The tattoo its self is amazing too with beautiful line work.

This is one of my best experiences I’ve had of getting a tattoo! The staff is so personal and are a great time all together, the art is stunning and drawn perfectly and is so personal I can’t wait to come back again to get so many bigger and better pieces! This is definitely the shop for me! My artist was Bylth was absolutely fantastic and I felt really close in a short amount of time. Ever since my tattoo artist moved back home I’ve been meticulously looking for a place to get work done and from a recommendation I decided to give it a shot here after looking at their artists’ work! The environment from the moment I stepped in just had a homey feel to it yet it was a tattoo place. I might have some bias since I haven’t been tattooed by the other artists but I would say Jake is such a superior artist alone but having such an array of talent in the shop; there’s nothing someone couldn’t do for you there.He goes over everything with you to make sure you’re extremely happy with every detail and you can see his passion for art and tattoos. The attention to detail with prep work, the patience, the care they all put it to make sure you’re comfortable in any regard; the list could go on! For me what really stood out was the family feel you get with the staff for sure. Not just the respectful and professional attitudes but there’s also a humble feeling you get when another artist pops in to see how the tattoo is coming out and the excitement they get watching the work get done. It’s hard for it to not put a smile on your face! Three days after I got my first one from Jake, I put down a deposit to continue with more work and so far with my sleeve, I’m still blown away with the talent. I guarantee you will not be disappointed by getting tattooed by anyone there whatsoever!

I feel SO incredibly lucky to have stumbled upon Vellum Arts Collective and Blyth in particular as I was looking for a last-minute mothers day tattoo artist. Blyth was quick and responsive to my emails and game to work on a piece written by my 10 year old with my 5 year olds drawing and I was excited to have found her. Walking into the studio I immediately felt so welcomed by Blyth and felt so creative from the decor and vibe of the space (in an old bank building!!!!). Blyths room is covered in whimsical delights and she spent as much time as necessary talking through the design and ideas of placement. During the tattooing itself Blyth was quick and made it as painless as possible and was hilariously chatting away with me to keep me distracted. It was truly a BLAST. At the end of the day I couldnt be more pleased with the entire experience and now my partner (who was with us) wants to go back to get one for themselves. THANK YOU BLYTH!!!!!

This studio is absolutely amazing! First off, every single person in the shop is just an amazing person in general. Everyone is always super nice and always popping in to complement each other’s work and it really just feels like home being there. Jake has been doing a half sleeve for me for the past couple months and it has been simply an awesome experience all together. 8 hours of tattooing feel like they’re gone in a second when getting to interact with everyone there. Blyth, Jake, and Nick are absolutely hilarious and talented and it’s so fun to be in the room with them while being tattooed. Dakota is so wonderfully nice and cheerful, and always happy to just talk about his art when he has time. Kaleo is always working on sick tattoos and is so incredibly kind and I just love watching him work. Honestly, there is so much to say about this place that is just amazing. Absolutely amazing studio! I live an hour away, but me and some friends went there for a flash sale, and our artist Blyth was so kind! Everyone else at the shop was very welcoming and made us feel at home. I would absolutely make the drive again because I know that I’ll have a blast again.

The aesthetic and atmosphere of the shop was fun and artistic. Also- the phone booth is a prime photo op. All the employees were all welcoming and friendly. I came across Blyth’s flash sheet and reached out because I loved so many of the designs, and she was so easy to book with! She was super responsive and flexible with what I wanted and made sure I was happy with everything prior to the appointment. The shop itself is beautifully spooky but very laidback, and all the artists were sweet and welcoming which isn’t always the case at some shops. Blyth was super efficient and made sure I was comfortable (even got me a blanket when I got cold!). I’d go to any of the artists there but I’m so happy with her work.

Awesome place to get your tattoo. Everyone I ran into in my 3 sessions were friendly and fun to talk to. Quality of the work is outstanding. Couldnt be happier. My piece ended up covering up an older piece I had and you couldnt tell looking at it now. Cant recommend them enough.

I’ve been getting tattooed by Jake Zucco at vellum for just over a year. I gotta say, his attention to detail and even the after care aspect of his work is second to none. Jake Zucco and I started in on my full sleeve tattoo a few years ago and have recently completed it. I waited til my late 40s to get the tattoo of my dreams to be sure it was exactly what I wanted and I am so incredibly happy with it. Jake took the time to research all of the natural oceanic elements we used and placed them to look their best on my arm and shoulder. Each little detail is exquisite and thoughtful. I feel that this artwork really represents me. Every session was professional, relaxed and sanitary. The shop in Chicopee is really beautiful and comfortable. A nice mix of music (which matters when youre sitting for several hours) and plenty of privacy. A very warm and friendly vibe from everyone who works there. Super grateful and highly reccommended.

Felt very at home getting two tattoos here from Blyth, one of the apprentices! The studio is very clean and inviting, Blyth and the other staff that was there were so friendly and made me feel right at home getting my first ankle tattoo. The aftercare kit they provided me was very cute came in handy also!

Jake did a great job with my tattoo. He listened to my concerns, gave me advice to manage the pain, provided numbing cream to help, and he was extremely personal. I love how he customized my tattoo. His artwork came out better than desired and he showed great patience with my jerky movements throughout the tattoo session. I would recommend this place to anyone who is interested in getting a tattoo.

A bad tattoo and a good tattoo last forever--I wanted a good tattoo and did a ton of research on local shops before settling on Vellum Art Collective and I am very glad I did. Jake and the crew are easily the best in the north east.

I have been to several Tattoo shops and this is by far the best one! The shop itself is so nice and I cant say enough about the people! Dakoda and everyone one else at the shop are so nice and welcoming. I would recommend Vellum Art Collective to everyone and anyone! Cant wait to go back!

Vellum art is a very warm welcoming shop. And the separate private rooms make it much more comfortable getting a tattoo. I’ve been getting my sleeve done by Jake for close to a year now and can only speak highly of him. He’s very detail oriented and professional. I can trust his recommendations and am always amazed how the tattoo turns out in the end.I highly recommend giving him and his shop a chance for your next tattoo.

First ever full sleeve done here. Worked with Jake on this piece for at least 12 sessions and every time hes giving me something timeless to take home with me. This is where you get quality work done. I literally fly out from LA to continue working with him despite moving here a couple years ago.

Well first of all, Jake Is amazing! The girl that works with him (I forget her name) is pretty & super awesome..absolutely loved her!! The shop is super dope looking. Not loud or packed. They make you feel homely which is great because Im not a people person. He went above and beyond for what I wanted...he was very honest and upfront about what I wanted but I let him do his thing & it came out phenomenal. He listens & is really patient with my annoying questions over & over and takes his time & doesnt rush. I looked at so many peoples work in Western Ma & hands down, his work stuck out the most! Not trying to brag but I needed him desperately for my piece & he was their with the quickness!!! Super thankful & appreciative for it. Hes definitely someone Ill continue to go back to no doubt about that. Just look at his work, IM TELLING YOU ..DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS GUY...HES THE BEST & I STAND ON THAT 100% cant say it enough ...thank you so much !!!

Kaleo was amazing. After waiting almost a year to get a tattoo due to a horrible experience at a local shop, I was so terrified to have to get a coverup. I drove an hour and a half to Vellum after finding Kaleo on Instagram. I reached out to multiple artists to discuss my coverup and Kaleo was the most responsive and helpful. I was so scared because the last tattoo I got was by someone so extremely heavy-handed it genuinely made me never want to get a tattoo again. Kaleo was patient, asked how I was multiple times, and so light-handed with amazing results. I finally feel like I can go back to getting artwork again. I booked while I was there for my next appointment. This shop has talented, professional artists and are worth checking out 100%.

Vellum Art Collective is a beautiful space, and unlike most tattoo shops, there are separate private rooms for each artist. This is especially comforting for those who don’t like to be exposed to an entire shop of people during the process. I’ve been in many tattoo shops where I’ve felt uncomfortable getting tattooed in a large room of tables and small work stations. The space is newly renovated, extremely clean, and very comfortable feeling. Jake is a very kind artist, who does beautiful realistic tattoos and who takes his skill very seriously to give you the best art possible. His work is extremely consistent, you will never see a bad piece from him.

I’d highly recommend getting a tattoo here. Kaleo took care of me, we met first to discuss the idea of my tattoo as it would be a cover up for an old one that was a hard job to cover. We spent about a month discussing ideas, and when the appointment came along he showed me his idea which was something was beyond what I expected and was awesome. His co workers were also giving suggestions and the environment was cooperative and a good vibe. He’s a very respectful artist and a good person to work with and the experience was great. I’m looking forward to my follow up appointment and would recommend Vellum to anyone looking for quality work with good people!

I got a fun flash from apprentice Blyth, already have another appointment set. Warm environment with earth tones and plants throughout. TV on in the background and open concept space (esp for the small building) was welcoming and chill. 10/10 would recommend

I am 3 full day sessions in on my sleeve with Jake and he is doing a phenomenal job! I went to Jake with a very basic idea and what he is doing far exceeds my expectations. I HIGHLY recommend him!

I’ve had several tattoos done at various tattoo shops over the years from North Jersey to Mass. and by far my best experience has been at Vellum. Jake is an amazing artist. As a client I really appreciate his attention to detail, creativity, and professionalism. His work is amazing and I know every time I go in for a session it’s going to be a great experience. I would definitely recommend checking out Vellum and seeing Jake.

I had the most amazing experience getting tattooed by Blyth a couple weeks ago. I got some flash and I adore how they all turned out. Blyth was a pleasure to spend a couple hours with and I will definitely be getting more of her flash in the future!

Wowzers. Kaleo Luna is incredibly talented, personable, and professional. He was very understanding when I reached out in advance of my appointment to reschedule when something came up, and he worked with me to bring a vision to life from a few different ideas. My piece (a large traditional-inspired ship on my thigh) took four hours and we took a few breaks throughout. I was offered water and granola bars and had great conversations with the apprentice that was observing Kaleos technique. The shop was clean and had lots of cool art to look at while being tattooed. Now that its fully healed, Im even more impressed by the linework, color, and shading. Ive gotten many compliments on this new piece and already have so many ideas for my next tattoo with Kaleo! If youre looking for a trustworthy, talented artist, this is the spot for you. His work speaks for itself.

Great time getting my first tattoo! I got a realistic “damaged wing” tattoo on my forearm from Jake Zucco. By the time I was done, my arm was hurting from the needle, and my face was hurting from all the laughter. Everyone is so welcoming and joyful! I can’t wait to be back to get my second wing tattoo on my other forearm!

Blyth was amazing, took the time to review exactly what the tattoo would look like, adjusted and made suggestions. Could not be happier with her or the tattoo.

Disappointing

This was my first time getting a tattoo at Vellum. Blyth was my tattoo artist for a small piece on my arm. Im extremely satisfied with my experience (read below) and will be back!Blyth is a deeply talented artist. She was also very patient, working with me on revisions and placement until I was 100% happy with the design she created based on my (originally very rough) idea. And it is perfect -- she brought what I was imagining to life. Blyth is incredibly knowledgable about all things prep, tattooing, and healing. She is deliberate and intentional about her work, which shows in the finished product.The studio is extremely cool -- I loved the decor in the waiting room, and Blyths studio in particular is honestly just amazing. Ill be back for sure!
