Obray was delightful to work with- skilled, professional, kind, efficient, with a gentle and extremely steady hand. I had a difficult design with curvalinear forms and fine line work placed on my neck, and Obray made the whole process as swift and expedient as possible, with very little discomfort. He is an industry leader and consumate professional, and he cares deeply about his clients, aftercare, and the whole experience. I couldnt recommend Obray and Dermal Designz more highly- definitely come see him for your next tattoo, hell make your vision and dreams come true!

This is absolutely the best piercing I have ever had. It was quick. It was easy. I had the pleasure of getting my piercing done by the owner talked me through it and was gentle. He was very polite and very personable. I recommend the shop for piercings 100% and look forward to getting a tattoo from him soon.

Obray and his studio has the coolest vibe ever! Be ready for amazing artwork and a good time. The experience overall is amazing. You will NOT be disappointed in your work either. Came in for a belly piercing with my mom and we both ended up getting pierced! very good service super kind i was very nervous but Obray made me feel very comfortable and the piercing wasn’t as bad as i thought. 10/10 recommend.

Dermal Designz and Obray treated me right! I got three knew ear piercings, and Obray did a fantastic job making me feel comfortable and safe. He did all of the right sanitary prep work and had no issues with the piercing part even with them being in hard to reach areas. The jewelry is super nice quality at a reasonable price and my piercings healed really well in about two months (usually they take a lot longer for me to heal). I cant wait to get my first tattoo with Obray soon!

I took my 14-year-old daughter into Dermal Designz Tattoo and Piercing in Cornelius on Saturday to have her ears pierced. Of course, as a mother, I was very reluctant and leery about this procedure. I was extremely pleased with the professionalism and expertise of the owner and operator, Obray Cowan. He explained the procedure, made my daughter feel at ease and did an excellent job with the piercing. His facility was clean and well organized. I highly recommend this young entrepreneur for any piercing or tattoo work.

Prices are RIDICULOUS!!!!!!! I dont care what anyone says!!! I guess they can charge those prices in Cornelius but they wouldnt make it anywhere else. Price quotes are dependent on what they have made or intend to make for the week because they are not consistent at all! Id be INSANE to go back here! There are plenty of other artists and places that will not take advantage of you. If I were you, I would stay away! You have been warned!!!!

Went in for my 4th tattoo (all small and simple) and came away super happy. Obray is a really chill guy, very nice, very professional. Everything seemed clean and sterilized. He was super quick and that tattoo looks amazing and healed well.I plan on having him to a decent sized coverup in a few months and after several other artists looking at me like I was stupid and crazy for what I wanted, Obray was totally open to it and said he could definitely design something that would fit over my old tattoo and be exactly what I wanted. Really nice people. Fit me in very quickly without an appointment. However, the prices are completely insane. Total of $485 for a small and simple tattoo with very little color. Could have driven to Gastonia and paid $100 for the same quality work. If this thing was even $200, I would have been surprised. But $485???? Completely insane. Hope they enjoy the money because its the last theyll get from this dude. Wish I could have just said nevermind and gave it back.

Would have loved to give them 5 stars, but $300 for a 35 minute touch up. Cmon. That’s nuts. Wish I went elsewhere. They will say “we charge what we charge” than how about be a little more transparent about pricing? It’s not cool to just take advantage of peoples wallets, because that’s definitely what it felt like.***in response to the reply*** I complimented the tattoo and wrote on the wall prior to accepting the charges. In fact I did speak with a nice lady on the phone when I made my appt, who went over my deposit and the likelihood that the deposit would cover my tattoo in it’s entirety. If it is up to the artist to decide on pricing, than being transparent would include that statement when making the appt, thus informing me to have that conversation with the artist. Like I said, $300 for a less than 3 inch tattoo is unfair and hopefully the artist doesn’t confuse other customers this way.

Amazing experience he did exactly what i ask for. He saw my tattoo vision and delivered everything i ask for, he went above and beyond my expectations. Friendly as hell i loved it. This fir my tattoo only. My husbands is half way disappearing only few words can be seen.

I went here today to get my first piercing. I was really nervous but the owner was very patient and understanding with me. I will come back for sure for my first tattoo. Got my second tattoo from here today, and am absolutely in love with it :D Obray was so gentle, and made me feel right at home, and asked me all the important questions about my tattoo, such as placement, size, and details. Everything was sterile and clean, and he used new needles and things. before tattooing me. His line work is clean and I love it! I cant wait to go back and get my third tattoo from him, and then more after that haha! Definitely recommend.

I came in because my helix had go infected and i asked if someone could help me take it out because of how much pain i am in, i walked in and asked if they have any studs, which they did and i asked how much and someone told me it was 50 for handling and 30 for the jewelry! i’m sorry but i payed not even 80 for the piercing itself. it’s a super nice shop it’s self but i just didn’t think the pricing is reasonable.

I just went in to get my nose jewelry changed. I had a hoop in that I struggled to get out so I needed some help to change it. I just happened upon this shop looking through places near me to do that and I’m so glad I decided on it. The owner Obray took care of it for me and there was as little pain as possible even though it was irritated already. He was so nice and it was a quick process which I was very thankful for!

O is the BEAT tattoo artis Ive seen by far. He takes is time to make sure the tatoo is EXACTLY as you like. I have 7 tattoos and this is the absolute best one Ive had yet. I wont go to anyone else. His pricing is fair and his studio is chill and comfortable. I would recommend anyone to see him for his services!!!

I went here for my first tattoo, and ABSOLUTLY loved it. The shop was very clean and Obray was very informative on everything hes going to do during my tattoo! Everything is only used once, and he opens all the tools right infront of you.Overall it was a great first experience, and I cant wait to go back and get another tattoo:)

Wonderful experience for my touch up

I invested in some expensive tattoos that look like a childs practice doodle. Ink is definitely not of great quality. My tattoos have all faded terribly (only 2 years later). I contacted O about this. It looks like my tatts are 15 years old. And a couple prove to be distorted. At first his email communication was consistent. Once, he found out I was one of his earlier customers from 2016/2017, he avoided me. I could simply show up at the shop to show him the aftermath. But its not even worth the headache. I wanted to support a local artist and I was excited about him being new in Cornelius. I was also too excited about getting my very first ink ever. I also should have made sure the sample work I was looking at was indeed his. You live and you learn. I will be getting my beginners tatts covered up by seasoned bad azz artists. One thing majority artists fail to consider is that they price work like its Hollywood work. Only to give you $15 practice work.

So I went here about a month ago to get my left nostril pierced. I was pierced with an L shaped surgical steel bar which I know now caused irritation from moving around so much. I developed irritation bumps on both sides of the piercing after a month and decided to go to a more reputable place to get it checked out. Turns out it was pierced at an angle, and it may never heal right. I may have to take it out and get it repierced at a more professional place. I’m disappointed considering I was recommended this place by family. Now my jewelry doesn’t sit right on my nose, and i’ll have to go through extra pain and time to get this fixed.

I called and texted and was completely blown off and ignored. I’ve heard from a few others that it’s not the first time it’s happened. Very unprofessional.
