Norah has hands of an angel! I hate getting tattooed but will get matching ones with my kids. Norah was magical it didn’t hurt at all. I will truly never go to anyone else!! The shop was super clean and the environment wonderful! Thank you Norah!!

I’ve gotten my nipple pierced here twice now and both times they managed to screw it up. They pierced too deep and it looks nothing like my other nipple piercing. For the high price you pay here, it’s not worth it, I had two different piercers here and both of them messed it up. Save your money and go literally anywhere else.

My daughter’s ears were pierced very uneven. I tried to get used to it, but can’t. The piercer seemed liked she was still being trained.

I got my septum pierced earlier this week by Charlie. The placement was very high and painful. The hoop was entirely in my nose and the piercing bled for two days. I came back in today and Emily told me the piercing had been done in my nose cartilage. She refunded me my money and repierced it for free. She was amazing and the new piercing was 10 times less painful and looks way better. I would definitely come back for Emily specifically but beware of who pierces you!!!!!

Had an amazing experience with Lou. He did an amazing job with my piece that means so much to me and my daughters. He took his time and was very understanding with one last change before we started. He shows how much he cares about his craft and is a wonderful addition to the Red Octopus team. The rest of the employees were very nice and they showed a lot of teamwork and passion. Dropped my daughter off for her first tattoo. When we walked in we were greeted immediately. The place was very clear smelled good and decorated nice. Finally her tattoo looked amazing.

I love coming here for piercings and for my most recent tattoo after 18 years. Shea did an excellent job. He was very friendly and made the experience comfortable for me. The facility is clean and I encourage you to schedule your tattoo appointments. They are busy but it’s for a great reason. Highly recommended!

I recently visited Red Octopus for a nose piercing and four small tattoos, but left feeling quite let down by the service. Initially, my nose piercing went smoothly, despite an hour-long wait, which I didn’t mind. After this, I was assured by the piercer (if that’s the right term?) that I was next on the list for tattoos. This was around 3 PM.As time ticked by, I noticed I was the last one from the original crowd still waiting in the lobby. After an additional two hours of waiting, with it now being 5 PM, I approached the hostess for an update. To my disbelief, she returned after a brief check to inform me that no one would be available to do my tattoos.I was confused and honestly quite upset. As a walk-in, I understand the unpredictability, but I would have appreciated some communication about the delay or the possibility of not being seen at all. It was particularly frustrating to see a group of four individuals come in, get matching tattoos (each about the size of my largest planned tattoo), and leave within 30 minutes, while I was left waiting for nearly four hours. The waiting was never the issue as I would’ve stayed until close if it ensured I’d get what I wanted. It’s the waiting and seemingly odd cutoff time of 5.Considering the shop wasn’t closing for another two hours, it seemed odd that they couldn’t accommodate my request. Writing this review is more of a therapeutic outlet for me, a peaceful alternative to expressing my frustration in the moment. I just wished for better communication and a little more consideration for my time, especially since I left without the tattoos I had hoped for.

Nice clean place with quick service. Only 1 negative point. Its a crowded area to walk through the tattoo area to get to the piercing area, I suggest at least putting up a 3-4 panel room divider.

Walked in today and got pierced by Charlie. I got 2 lobes and 3 cartilage done. He was super sweet and made sure I was okay between piercings and ready before the next one. 10/10 recommend. I’ll definitely be coming back to him for future piercings.

On a Sunday, I brought my 5-year-old to have her ears pierced. Despite the bustling atmosphere, we were promptly attended to by Raylea. The facility impressed me with its cleanliness, and the staff exhibited a high level of professionalism and kindness. Raylea provided a clear explanation of the procedure, putting my daughter at ease. We were in and out within 15 minutes. I would highly recommend this establishment for piercings due to their professionalism and reasonable prices. Many thanks for ensuring my daughters first ear-piercing experience was excellent!

Easily one of my favorite tattoos!! Everyone I interacted with were super friendly and the atmosphere is very professional and clean. Patrick was my tattoo artist, and I really appreciated his attention to detail and artistry. I highly recommend this shop and will definitely be coming back!

Made a trip up from Georgia to visit my sister. She made arrangements for us to get sister tattoos. Dante did our tattoo work. Great job, I know our tattoos were simple but they are clean and nicely done. We love ❤️ them.

Our visit to Red Octopus today for my five-year-olds first ear piercing was an absolutely remarkable experience, one I cannot extol enough. It was a special Christmas gift for her, and she exhibited tremendous bravery throughout the process. What truly delighted us was the personalized attention she received—they directed their communication towards her, discussing the placement of the earrings, the type she would have, and explained the aftercare responsibilities directly to her. Their patience and understanding were exceptional, as they dedicated ample time to ensure everything was comfortable and clear. Moreover, they graciously assisted me by switching out my nose ring. The ambiance was both welcoming and impeccably clean. I wholeheartedly recommend Red Octopus to anyone seeking a professional and child-friendly environment for ear piercings.

Normally I go to the one located on Morningside. However, Ive moved and decided to try the one in Crofton on my way home. The shop is beautiful, clean, spacious and a lot of space. The staff was super friendly. I got a nose piercing. I was nervous, but the piercing tech(sorry, I can not remember his name) was great at calming me down. The needle felt like a pinch, not too much pain. I brought the ointment and spray from them and have used it as directed. A week later, the pain is gone. 5 more weeks and it should be totally healed.

The sweetest people, Emily changed my cartilage piercing and it was so easy, and I was even able to consult her and an artist about a tattoo idea I had. They printed it out to check the size and give me an estimate, which was very helpful (and reasonable). They even offered to do the tattoo then and there but I unfortunately had somewhere to be. All together lovely people and I’ll be back soon to get tattooed :)

I went to Red Octopus 10/28/23 and everything was great. I was greeted with a lovely pumpkin spice vibe. Stewart let me know of all of the piercing questions that I had. He was knowledgeable, funny and helpful. Charlie was my piercer and he too was professional, explained everything and was quick and concise. I even left with a swag bag and cards of tattoo artists within the shop that I can’t wait to work with. 10/10 I will return.

I got my first tattoo here (by Shea). The shop was clean and had covid protocols in place (hand sanitizer upon entrance, social distancing, masks required). Everybody was nice and helpful. Shea was really awesome! He did a tattoo for a friend of mine 2 years ago and he was super nice - answering all of my questions (which were a lot because that was my first time ever in a tattoo shop). I knew if I ever got one myself, hed be my artist. He responded to my emails quickly and made me feel very comfortable! I highly recommend him and this shop!

I went to get my 15 month old Ears pierced. Ive heard a lot about this place, but Ive never understood the hype about it until I actually went there. This place has to be the biggest and cleanest tattoo and piercing shop Ive ever been to. The staff was very professional and their system was extremely quick and efficient. We were never given the our childs birth certificate, so they accepted insurance as a form of identification for our baby. The piercer was nice and professional. He was quick and went along with every head move with my baby did. We were there less than an hour. Its a week later and the piercings are healing fine. I would definitely recommend this place for piercings.I want to come back to look into their tattoos because I have 6 that need to be touched up.

This was my first tattoo!!! I was so nervous and had done a ton of research on shops to check out. A coworker recommended red octopus in Crofton and I am happy she did Chris, my tattoo artist was amazing! It took him 20 minutes and shockingly it did not hurt. The shop is very clean the the customer service is awesome! I will be returning for my next tattoo.

Fantastic!A while ago, I came here to get my tattoo done by Shasha, who was an apprentice practicing at that time. Her work was amazing, especially for someone who was just starting out. She went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and was very friendly and knowledgeable. I receive frequent compliments on her work and would recommend her.

Jenna did a wonderful job on our paw print tattoos! These were our first tattoos and Jenna made sure we got exactly what we wanted and were comfortable and relaxed. The location itself was clean with an upbeat, positive vibe. Weve gotten a ton of compliments on the tattoos and we love them! Overall a great experience and an awesome tattoo.

I wanted a simple tattoo and didn’t feel like waiting weeks or months for availability with some of these DMV shops. i was a walk in at red octopus and Shasha was able to take me. she talked me through the different fonts and gave her professional opinion on all of my questions. right as she was about to put the stencil on my arm i requested one more change and she was so patient and willing. i love the outcome so much and couldn’t have been happier with the service!!

Got my first tattoo with Fae and she is the absolute sweetest and patient person ever. I was scared and she was very gentle. Everyone there was professional and kind. We will be back.

I love it here. i do most of my small walk in tattoos here definitely first come first serve basis, but everyone in here is so nice.

I’ve gotten 5 of my 7 tattoos here over the years and all 3 of my body piercings here. Starting in 2014 and my most recent modification being this year 2023. The service has gone down severely over the years. This past Friday I got my septum pierced and it was the worst piercing I’ve experienced. The piercer barely greeted me then when we got to the room he barely said a word. After the piercing was done he said “good to go” and sent me out the door, he didn’t clean the pierced area afterwards or give me follow up instructions just sent me on my way. By the time I reached my car my nose was leaking blood but I was too intimidated to go back inside

Scammers! I talked to somebody over the phone in regard to getting my nose pierced. They told me it would be $40. I travel an hour, signed the paperwork and brought my sterilized 14k gold diamond that I wanted to use. They tell me after I already sign that it will be a $65 for jewelry. I told her that I have my own she says they don’t use anything that’s not sterile so I told her OK you can sterilize it again. Keep in mind it’s just a sterilizing spray they use! I’m allergic to anything lower than 14 karat. She proceeds to tell me that that theirs is real gold. I show her using her store display that it’s not pure gold it’s plated, and how here is turning silver. I walked out because they’re trying to come up off of something that should cost $20-$40

We had a wonderful experience getting my 8 year olds ears pierced today! The man was super patient and understanding to her being a little weary, and the front desk was also super helpful and positive! Wonderful experience would highly recommend.

Im 11 tattoos in and this has been the best experience so far. Leon was absolutely amazing. He contacted me days before my scheduled appointment to get an idea of what I wanted. With that information he was prepared and helped bring my vision to light. I love the outcome and have been showing it off non-stop. I definitely will be back for my remaining 4 tatts.

Kira pierced my daughter Ava’s ears today! I also surprised my daughter by getting mine done too!! I’ve not been able to wear earrings for a long time due to metal sensitivity and so I gave up and let them grow up!! Well lo and behold my holes were still open and they popped in a brand new pair of titanium trinity earring and they look great! I don’t even feel them in my ears 😂! My daughter was so surprised and keeps saying “it’s so funny to see you with earring’s now Mom”! Thank you again for telling Ava she was your hero and she loves “Octo” the RO! 🫂 Janet/Ava

Stay away from Lou. He botched my tattoo. Havent had a tatto in over 15 years came in for a small cover up. I showed him what I wanted and where. He asked the front desk lady to have me email it so he can print it out. Im thinking he was sketching it out but he said he would draw by hand. So im like he should know what he is doing as a professional. So I was told it would be a hour wait tops by lady at front desk. I waited for over 2 hours. He finally comes to get me and draws a outline using a purple marker. Which didnt look bad but it was so much marker that I couldnt really see what was what but I trusted the process. When done it didnt look like the picture I sent. Im not confrontational at all so I just left. Because it didnt matter atp because I was stuck with the amateur work. I noticed after washing it and the marker is not hiding what wasnt done it looks way worse. Avoid this guy Lou his not listed on the site as a worker neither so idk if he was a stand in or new.

Clean. Busy. Walk-ins welcome. Great experience with Louie. I presented him with what I wanted and he brought back five variations (size, font, etc.) for me to choose from, and he did a great job. Will be going back.

Took my daughter there to get her ears pierced, and not only were they very professional but they were very friendly as well. Theyre fast and efficient and know how to handle nervous kids. When we were changing my daughters earrings we had trouble getting them back in, we went back here and they did it easily

I went in last weekend to get my nose and tragus pierced. They were done by 2 different woman which I thought was kinda weird. Before getting the piercings I asked if the nose piercing jewelry was a flat back or ball back because I didn’t want the corkscrew, which I was told it had a ball back so I picked the stud. I’ve had my tragus pierced before and it closed, so there was a previous scar from the previous placement that I was told didn’t look right. The placement was adjusted because I believed it was best to trust the professionals. After the appointment I left and when I got home I realized that my nose ring was a corkscrew. I called back very upset and the man that answered the phone said that he thought I was asking about a hoop not a stud. Then he got the piercer and I was told that they could not switch out the jewelry and if it fell out just to put an earring in it and then they would fix their mistake. Seems unprofessional. Today I went to my regular piercing shop to try and get my nose jewlery switched out and I was shown that my piercing was completely crooked and needed to come out. AND the new placement of my tragus piercing was too close to the edge and is likely my body will just reject it because of the bad placement. The hoop for it was also so small that my ear did not have enough room to swell and heal properly. Spent $90 for absolutely nothing and I will not be returning, as someone with multiple piercings this was a huge mess and I’ve never had such a bad experience. The man that helped me on the phone and at the beginning of my appointment was very nice and apologized for the misunderstanding, he was great. Everyone else not so much.

This review is only for getting a piercing from here. Their default jewellery is surgical steel which is NOT implant grade. They also default to hoop jewellery for a helix which is also not recommended for fresh piercings since it hinders healing. After asking specifically for a titanium stud with the staff at front, I tried to talk to my piercer about the type of jewellery I eventually wanted in the location and she seemed to not want to hear anything I had to say and rushed me into the chair. After waiting 3 months with very little healing, I went to my regular piercer who had to remove the piercing since the angle was incorrect and causing my body to reject it. I do not recommend getting pierced here, though the tattoo artists do seem very knowledgable and talented.

JoJo did a cover up on my ankle and I LOVE it! It is exactly like the picture, same shades of the colors too. It hurt a bit in certain spots but, well, a tattoo is a tattoo which dont always tickle . She was very friendly and personable, explained the whole process and after care. I have already recommended JoJo and I am sure they will have a great experience as I did.

This was our first time at Red Octopus place was very clean and everyone was very quick to get you checked in but it can be a wait for walk ins. My husband and I got Leon and he did an amazing job and we both love the tattoo. He was very friendly and professional.

I called. They were very receptive, direct, & friendly. I knew what to expect walking in due to the fact they were clear on the phone. My technician was fast & effective. I was in and out within minutes for my 1st piercing. I love that they take walk-ins because the whole process was on point & on time for me. Thank you!

The shop is very aesthetically pleasing and clean. I went in for a piercing and was satisfied with the range of jewelry they had to offer for a shop that seems to focus mainly on tattoos. They also did walk in appointments for piercings, which is always a plus! Now, as for the minus two stars, part of it was my fault, partially the piercer. I went in to swap out all of my cartilage piercings for solid gold as well as get a nip piercing. I specifically asked if the piercer advised me getting a hoop for my double helix as I have been told my ears aren’t really shaped for it. The piercer was nice enough to take the extra time and throw a “test” hoop on, which felt very comfortable in the moment (considering my ears inevitably blow up when switching jewelry). She said it looked like it would work, so I went ahead with it. However, I heard the piercer talking with the front desk person about it and it sounded like she had doubts, which did make me uncomfortable since, to my face, she said it would be okay. Long story short (lol) the jewelry did not work out in the long run. It was extremely uncomfortable even weeks after getting them swapped, which really disappointed me (each piercing was in the $140 range *cry*). Second star taken away because I was not asked if I wanted the nip piercing at an angle or not. To be fair, I love the angle, but hoops (which I eventually wanted) are better suited for horizontal hole alignment (idk how else to put that lol). Overall, I wish the artist asked just a little more and was more forthcoming with her opinion for the price point we were dealing with. But at the same time, I really should have been doing that part (so we’ll go w 4 stars hehe). Overall, do recommend this shop!! Just do yourself a favor and inquire about everything because at the end of the day, it’s your body (and you want to always be 100% certain with these things)! ;)

I went there with a friend to get my first piercing EVER. As soon as I walked in, I could tell this is a good place. The decor is brilliant and the facility is spotless. Each artist has plenty of working for themselves and their clients; perfect if youre worried about social distancing. What I love the most about this place is how friendly and cool the artists are. They are serious and professional about their craft; while also being very down to earth when it comes questions. I loved my visit there and I hope you do too! 👍✨

This was the first time Ive been in here and it is fantastic. I brought my sixteen-year-old daughter in with me to get our ears pierced. Our technician was Kyra and she was fabulous. She was professional and personable. And the best part was that the entire procedure was quick and painless. The cost is affordable. If I ever decide on another piercing I will definitely go back. I highly recommend!

Getting there is the tricky, but once you enter, its all about you! We were a party of 3 experiencing a bonding moment and we were not disappointed. They had a big, clean, airy waiting room. They were very professional and efficient. Instructions and directions were spoken and written, clearly. We went for piercings but we will be back for tattoos.

My girlfriend went in today for a consultation. She was told it was a 10 minute appointment. She sat there for 45 minutes while the employees at this location completely ignored her and didn’t acknowledge her one bit. She has bad allergies and whatever scent was in the waiting room she was having an allergic reaction too. She asked if she could wait outside until someone was ready for her and no one called her. Completely ruined her day with the way she was treated. We do not recommend this establishment. I am in the customer service business and I would never treat a client in the manner she was treated. Completely wrong.

Wonderful experience! Went in for a nose piercing and although the wait was a bit long (as to be expected for a Sunday) the piercer got me in and out quickly and professionally. I booked to go back to get tattooed as well!

I visited to get a septum piercing. I walked in unsure if it would be a good fit for me and walked out loving every part of it! My piercer Kira was wonderful, patient, and knowledgeable. Also the décor in the piercing office was lovely and welcoming!

This is absolutely the most unprofessional establishment I have ever had the displeasure of attempting to do business with. I received a gift certificate for my birthday from my husband towards a tattoo that I have longed to get for years. I suffer from physical illness and chronic pain, which I have been dealing with for most of my life. I also lost a young 17 year old girl, my sons girlfriend, to police gun violence. I have wanted a tattoo of a phoenix, for obvious symbolic reasons, for a long time. It took me more than 2 months to get on the books with Patrick. The day of my tattoo the schools closed and I was asked to reschedule as apparently there was no contingency plan for his children. I was told I would be sent some potential reschedule dates and never heard back from him. I reached out to inquire about rescheduling and still never heard a single word. I then inquired as to an appointment with Shea. I was told to email and that his books would open February 1st. I emailed and never received a response. I went into the shop on February 1st and asked about scheduling. I was told that he prefers to schedule his own appointments and that he would be responding to the emails that day. Took at least a week for the reply. I then submitted photos for reference and a photo of the area for the placement. I received an email back stating that my reference photos were not his style but that he could do a design of his own. I emailed back saying great please schedule. I have never received a single response. This shop will certainly not lose out on the money I would have spent on a single tattoo, however I wouldnt recommend this shop to anyone. Perhaps the shop has a few talented artists, but there are a lot of shops out there that are courteous, professional, and communicative. What a huge disappointment this place is.

Ive been to Red Octopus many times and my daughter even more. Weve had piercings and tattoos done, always a great experience! The shop is very clean! The check in staff is helpful, polite and always professional!Recently my husband, my daughter and I had an appointment with Pat. In one evening he did one after another. Hes very experienced and an expert in his craft! Each tattoo was perfect, the lines and shading were very well done. Were looking forward to another tattoo!I 100% recommend Red Octopus in Crofton.

I love it here. I received two tattoos by Dominique and my husband got one from Chris. They both did a really good job giving us what we wanted. Dominique went back and redid the design to make it exactly like I wanted but he wanted to make sure it was exactly like I wanted. Ive recommended this place and two of my friends and sister have also come here. The most impressive aspect is the cleanliness which is imperative in a tattoo shop!

I received the snake eyes piercing & i didn’t catch my piercers name but he was very nice & patient & i know everyone has a different pain tolerance but for me it was a 6/10 , majority of the pain came from the clamps 😂 but overall 10/10 definitely recommend

I had a nose 👃 piercing there and my experience was amazing. The person that did it was very fast and efficient. She told me to close my eyes and by time I closed them I swear she was already done. My son had a tattoo there done as well but I’ll be back to get a sleeve done.

I have been there for walk-ins and appointments. The staff is great and knowledgeable. For walk-ins the artist really takes time to understand what you want. With all the restrictions with covid, things seem a little chaotic at times there. The staff keeps their calm and everything very clean. I also have had an infected piercing removed ( they didn’t pierce). She was so nice and gentle and really knew how to go about it.

Great place! Im giving it three star because the lady that pierced my 9 month old daughters ear made a comment I did not like. I was never getting it done and she said well you can wait until shes old enough to decide on her own. Things like that people should keep to themselves and not say it out loud. I felt a little judge for getting her ear pierced and that should not be there case. Other than that comment everything else was fine. She did a great job and the place is super clean.

I live in DC and other Red Octopus locations are closer to me. However, the Crofton location was highly recommended by a close friend. I went for a re-opening of a closed nose piercing. The hole had been closed for over 20 years. Kira was very professional. She fully answered all my questions. Kira wanted to make sure I was comfortable with the re-opening and that specific location. This was my first needle piercing. Kira demonstrated precision skill and quickness to the point that I didnt even realize she had completed the piercing. I am exceedingly pleased with the entire experience. Big Shout Out, Thanks, and Hugs to Kira for a great job!!

I went to Red Octopus Tattoo after taking the time to plan my tattoos over the course of several years. As with any tattoo, I took the time to be very selective in who I chose to approach to design and accomplish my tattoo. After looking at the art for several artists in the area, I decided to talk to Turtle. Immediately, he made me feel welcome and had an extremely positive attitude. Turtle was extremely professional and took the time to listen to exactly what my requirements were. He is an accomplished tattoo artist in his own right and his experience shows in his work. For the level of realism I wanted, there is not anybody else within the state I would trust with the work he did on the three tattoos he designed and tattooed on me.In addition, my experience in the shop was extremely positive. The whole shop crew focuses on cleanliness and sanitation. The waiting room was never cluttered with people other than customers waiting on on tattoo appointments or piercings. By what I saw, the wait was never extensive and the employees were very attentive and had great customer service etiquette.

Took my 10 year old son to get his ears pierced. Everyone was very polite and professional. They do gun ear piercing but we paid extra to have needle piercing. Not a fan of gun piercing.After the first ear my son wasnt sure if he wanted to do the other. They said we could get a refund for the other ear or get a credit to come back when he was ready. We waited a few minute and he decided he was ready.Everyone gave him compliments on how well he did.Called 2 weeks later about switching his captives to studs for school and they told me all the necessary information to do it at home or said they could do it in shop if we needed.Would definitely recommend this place!

The place was super clean, the desk workers know what they are talking about and are helpful. The tattoo artists are personable and seem to actually care what the customers think. Just what you want in a tattoo parlor thats gonna give you permanent ink.

My experience at this place was amazing. My tattoo artist Yohana went above and beyond with the design of this small project. She added extra details which made of my tattoo a pretty unique piece Im proud to have on my skin. Totally recommend her.

So Ive only gotten my piercing jewelry replaced here, but the place is great! Ive had a couple issues with piercings from other shops just not healing or falling out. I came here and had them replace with Red Octopus jewelry and it helped them heal perfectly. They were always super happy to help me out, even at odd hours right before they close. The place is always busy so make a reservation. Very clean and professional inside. The waiting area has comfy couches and a TV. I would chill there if I could lol

Man I had Kira pierce my lip like 3 weeks ago and she pierced my nose yesterday and my friends septum. Literally the best work Ive ever had done. I had scheduled a black and white forearm wrap around forearm and hand tattoo that Ive been wanting to get for a while. The scheduling process was as expected, 3 month till available. No deposit which I thought was weird but it was apparently due to how many appointments there were and hard to keep track.Since a month prior to the appointment I was asking for any type of rough draft as I was anxious of not seeing what I was permanently getting on my body. I did not receive anything until I showed up which put a lot of pressure on me. Also, the example given was an idea and not to be taken literally, which I stated.I wanted something original. But what I received was a downgraded version of my example.Starting out, my artist was not ready and my appointment was at 11am and we didnt start till 1230pm. I saw how much linework there was and re emphasized I wanted it to be primarily shading. He said they were basically guidelines. They were not. He lined everything and shaded for effect which left so much open space and the tattoo was only the top of my forearmNot just the art, but the artist was far below expectations since he told me he WILL be having his headphones on for the entirety of the session.I had told him that I wanted this to get done in 1 day which he said shouldnt be an issue. However at 4pm said were calling it for the day cause he has more appointments.Upon return for my second session I was told to pay the remaining balance before we even started. I was not comfortable with that as paying before work completed is not a normal practice but they made me out to be a Karen for wanting to wait till the end.The artwork was not done in the way that was requested or explained. And further inspection Ive noticed that shading WAS NOT completed and my overall tattoo looks like an elephant kraken more than a cthuluI was dissatisfied with the overall price being 800 for 6 hours of work that was prolonged by private calls and apprentices interrupting for a total of an hour between 2 sessions.I have several large tattoos and this one will be one I regret for the rest of my life and wish I could take it back

Just walked in on a whim on a Friday evening with my wife and got some quick, small tattoos and a piercing. The staff members were super helpful and friendly. On top of that, the atmosphere was super comfortable and chill. The place was hella busy but with so many artists on site, we didnt have to wait long. We will definitely be back!

Love the tats me and my friends got one each really nice work there was a guy who did the ladies in the front very welcoming but the guys wasn’t even nice and he just had a bad attitude on everything we told him we wanted.

They were able to provide me with comfort and options for my tattoos of my now-crossed over the rainbow bridge cat. Ive had a tattoo done before that was a horrible experience. This was a 10/10. They are clean, very sterile and thorough to make sure they know exactly what you want and where you want it before committing to ink. Reasonable pricing. 1000% will be back.

Amazing place to get tattoos. Was new to Maryland (from Florida) and struggled to find a shop of the quality and price range I was used to. This one is still a little pricier than mine in Florida (but to be fair EVERYTHING in Maryland is more expensive), but their quality is top notch and well worth the price and still less pricey than the other popular shops in the area such as Lucky Bird or Orange Tattoo. Will is a great tattoo artist if you need something nerdy, innovative, and a blending of styles. I heavily recommend him to all nerds. Ive yet to mention a weird niche interest tattoo idea that he didnt immediately understand the reference. Also the place is very clean and has chill vibes and free coffee and trinkets. Showed up early before my last tattoo and had a really relaxing time in the lounge working on my laptop. Also the staff are really nice. I could go on, but Im running out of adjectives.

Did a great job at piercing my daughters ear. I called before hand to make sure there was not anything we needed to do before we arrived. I was told no. When we got there we found out minors needed to show id. Which is ok but we did not bring her ID. We managed to get a photo of her id and texted to me by my husband. I made the suggestion that next time if someone calls just mention to bring their id when they ask. The young man agreed and apologized and that was almost it, till the other lady at the counter got argumentative blamed me for not specifically asking if she should bring her id. I tried to explain that I did not know about it to ask. At any rate she may need to work on her costumer service. She was angry and could not take suggestions from costumers well.

Patrick Aikin was my artist and he did a phenominal job. I had an idea for a sleeve and he was in constant contact with me from start to finish. He can do any style but if you are looking for a solid neotraditional Patrick is the man in my opinion. Solid line work, great color choices, and great placement on the body. Everyone at the shop are friendly, helpful, and fun to talk to. No one has an attitude and that I think makes it very inviting for those looking to get their first tattoo. The shop is clean open and has a great atmosphere. My wife also got a piercing done and said it was a great experience and is now wanting to get her tattoos there. I can keep going on but you get the point, get down to see Patrick and the crew for a great tattoo experience....

Called Jessica on 2/28 to set an appt on 4/25. Two months wait which I was prepared for. What I wasnt prepared for was finding out I wasnt on the schedule after all that time. I reached out to Patrick the artist and he apologized and said hed call me the next day to fit me in within in the week. Four days later and not a word. So if you decide to go here I suggest you get a written confirmation via e-mail. I was never asked my e-mail address so I should have made sure to give it to them and request a confirmation. Two months is a long time to be waiting for nothing. And then be promised a call to make it right which never comes.

Shea and Chris did awesome jobs on the ladies tats. We visited for a group tat touch up for a few in our group and for individual tats. We didnt have an appointment but it wasnt too long of a wait for everyone to be finished especially with the friendly and calming atmosphere!

I had a great experience here after looking for an artist and shop for a few months. At the advice of a friend, I found Red Octopus and Dom who works at the Crofton location. He was super easy to talk to, understood exactly I was looking to do and was super accomodating! Shop was clean, and everyone was so professional and nice. Ill definately be making the 40 minute trip back for my next tattoo.

Horrible experience. I was the first one there, and I was kept waiting for over three hours before I walked out. Everybody else was taken back before me. I was totally ignored. When someone did talk to me, he said that hed try to see about finding someone to do the tattoo. Over an hour later, and watching him tattoo others/chat with staff, he got some guy to come out. The guy that came out told me my tattoo wasnt possible. Any artist worth a darn could have done it. I asked if he might be able to simplify it. He said that hed do a sketch. He took back other people, did other tattoos, and just talked to others instead of helping me. No one, I mean NO ONE, bothered to check on me or at least tell me that they were aware of my existence. Customer service is a JOKE. And so are the artists

I had to find a new tattoo and piercer since moving to Maryland. My first visit almost 8 months ago was to the Landover location. It was a pleasant visit but I didnt feel the need to go back. A small bump appeared on my piercing and I went to the Crofton location for a consult. Months later, after their counsel, the bump is significantly smaller. I purchased new jewelry and got a tattoo by Will. Im used to being tatted the same day (back home) and I was happy to have gotten in today. My art was small and only took an hour to tat. Will has a good steady hand and hes fun to talk to. Im definitely going back to see him.

I use Patrick. Great artist and person . Makes your sitting very comfortable. He has great ideas , very easy with the tattooing gun. Tattoos heal quickly. Highly recommend him. Shop is SUPER clean.

A friend recommended me to ROT for a nose piercing. I got my nose pierced here yesterday and I love it!!! I walked in and out in maybe 15 minutes total, only waiting about 5-10 minutes to begin. Jax was amazing, she made sure I was okay with everything throughout the entire process, she made things quick and easy, assured me about the pain. As for the place as a whole, SO clean and beautiful. I have no doubts that they made sure my piercing tools were as sterile as possible. Highly recommend for walk in piercings!!!!

Girl at the front desk was rude and was getting frustrated with us. Not a people person, I honestly was going to not get a tattoo because of her attitude. We we trying to consult with her about the tattoo we had in mind and apparently she must have been get overwhelmed since we were all doing different things. I would’ve gave them one star but Tom was very nice and did a good job. So if you can pass the front desk with out bad customer service then you’ll be fine. Place is honestly overpriced. Advertised military discount on their door but didn’t specify must be Active Duty. Just a heads up. Won’t be returning.

Nicky worked on a cover up of a cover up for me. I have been looking at this hideous ink spot that looked like a jailhouse tattoo for 20 years. I was so anxious because I knew it was going to be big, and the vision I had was almost impossible. Everyplace I went before him either didnt want to touch it, gave me the same option..cover it with a rose or something, or told me what I wanted couldnt be done. He was willing to give it a shot, and LITERALLY KILLED it!!!!! He was patient with me, and free~handed part of it giving the tattoo its own unique one of a kind PERFECTION with his artistic expertise!!! He is AMAZINGLY AWESOME!!!!!! He even made sure it wasnt big, which was a bonus! He created something ABOVE & BEYOND anything I could have expected. Its SO PERFECT!!! He will be fixing another awful tattoo I have had for 20 years next!!The shop itself is very nice, looks like something on a TV show. GREAT experience on every level.

Just got my nose pierced at the Crofton location yesterday evening, and they are great! The place is sooooo clean and smelled great! The atmosphere makes you feel comfortable and less stressed about getting a tattoo or piercing! I went here to get 2 piercings on my nostril done & they were very friendly as Soon as I walked thru the door. They greeted me with a smile like they were pleased to see me, even during Covid they were the ONLY shop thatll pierce anything under the mask when other shops wouldnt🚫. They were Clean, Sterile & So professional & had alota nice piercing jewelry to choose from including neo metal(which is my fav Now). Theyre very knowledgeable of the jewelry & I Will Certainly be going bac to them real soon to get more piercings done!!💞💯🌺💜

Comfortable atmosphere, wonderful artists, really all you can ask for and more from a tattoo shop.In addition I have psoriasis and as such needed to make sure the ink was high quality, and the artist (Nick) was very good about answering any questions about their ink (including showing it to me, and I did my research), aftercare while the tattoo healed, and even making sure to tell me its a good idea in the weeks before to apply lotion to the area to make sure it was psoriasis free before getting a tattoo because you should never tattoo over active psoriasis.My partner has also gotten tattooed here multiple times (also by Nick) and hers are all fantastic as well.Would recommend 10/10, this place goes above and beyond when it comes to customer service and the skill of their artists.

I got my nose pierced here a few months ago. I had it pierced a few years ago at a place in DC and had a lot of pain from that so he ended up taking it out. I decided I wanted to try again and I’m really glad I did because it seems to be done so much better this time around! The staff was patient and showed me the jewelry options and after I paid answered some questions I had while I waited… The woman who pierced my nose talked me through the steps as she did them so I knew exactly what was happening which put my mind at ease because otherwise I think I would’ve been freaking out! It definitely hurt for a second of course but I haven’t had any pain since then. I don’t know if it is the location where she did the piercing or the different jewelry backing compared to what I had before but it’s fantastic this time around. Yay!

I got my tongue pierced here very long ago by jax i think her name was, she was great, havent came back until yesterday to get my earl/bridge pierced. the piercer was obviously new and looked nervous, even asked where she should mark one of the sides of my nose for the needle. long story short it is noticeably crooked from most angles. i dont remember her name & I hate to be a fckn Karen but i do all my other piercings myself and if i wouldve know it was going to be like that for $60 plus 15% cash tip i wouldve just done it myself :/ every other time ive come it was a great experience so i dont want to lower the rating too much but i am pretty frustrated with the piercer

Was told the wait would be about an hour or so to get a tattoo... no problem 3 hours later the artist comes out then tries to over charge us we asked why so much he said cause of detail but it was all just line work..... This is the second time theyve tried to overcharge me for a tattoo and to top it off while waiting no one kept us updated or anything as if we werent there.....

My friend and I were looking for a walk in tattoo place all day, and we found this place and luckily for us, they said that we could get our tattoos done today, and we got a call saying that an artist was ready within a half hour of us showing up for the walk-in. I have been going to red Octopus For a while, Landover and then Crofton. I really love the Crofton shop cos prices are reasonable and the shop’s ambiance is top notch. My only issue is I wish they did more walk-ins ..other wise my preferred artist (Chris) keeps my ink 👍🏾

Can’t speak for the rest of the shop, but do NOT get tooth gems here. Front desk girl was extremely rude and didn’t know much about it when I was asking questions. Prices on the site do not actually reflect all the options and they were much pricier than other places I had looked at. But I was on vacation so I decided to splurge and spend $150 to get 2 gems. The girl didn’t even look at my teeth to tell me where I should get them, if they would even sit right, or what size would look best, just said okay. Also pretty sure they used canned air on my teeth which tasted and smelled like chemicals. I got them at the end of May and have already lost both of them. Super disappointed for the money I paid.

I liked nothing about it the font desk lady was so rude and the piercer was sitting on his phone the whole time and would peirce me Bc its a Maryland state law that I cant Get peirced. When I had all my paper work. Plus my mom was there... When theyve peirced me before. Im very unhappy.. With the people that are there they were the rudest things ever and were very disrespectful.. They need to learn how to be nice and polite before they start loosing customers.

Shut down for covid 4 days ago and never informed me about it, even sent me confirmation emails one day before my appointment. I’m only in the area for a week so I guess they’re keeping my 50 dollars I deposited for my appointment. If I could give 0 stars I would.

I cannot recommend the Red Octopus team enough. Their work is quality and the staff are kind and friendly. Not to mention the place is INCREDIBLY clean and sanitary.
