I just got my first tattoo at 60 years old and can’t believe how happy I am with it. Adam was so calming and really reassured me that his work was going to be beautiful. And it really was. I would highly recommend this shop and look no further, if you want to get the best tattoo ever.

I love this tattoo shop! One of my favorite places in the area for American trad. I have had work from Barron and Jimmy, but all of the people working here are very talented. Vibes are immaculate every time. The guys are always joking around, and it makes it such a nice atmosphere to be in. I have always gotten a fair price whenever I come thru too. Every time I come in I know I will have a great experience and will leave with a crazy tat, and that is what keeps me coming back.

Easily my favorite tattoo shop around. It’s taken me a while to find a shop where I feel comfortable. All of the artists here are both friendly & professional. You feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door. The shop is clean, the walls are covered in art, & there’s always great music playing. The prices are fair & you’re getting quality work. Overall the vibes here are immaculate.I’ve had a lot of work done on my sleeves by both Barron & Cody and I couldn’t be happier! The sessions I’ve had with them are always hella chill. We’ve had some great conversations too. They’re both very easy to talk to. They’re always open to my ideas & will also give me their honest opinion on what they think would look best. I personally love how both Barron & Cody do traditional color tattoos. I’ve gotten so many compliments on pieces they’ve done for me!There are so many talented artists at this shop so no matter who you choose to go to you’re in good hands. :) I’ve attended many of the “flash events” & they’re a blast! This shop will forever be my go-to place. I come here so often I call it my “second home” ;)

Barron’s work speaks for itself- Of all my tattoos none get more compliments from people with & without tattoos. Even complete strangers stop me to admire his work. He is worth the wait and the distance I need to drive. I can’t wait for my next piece. He’s everything you want in a tattoo artist: talented, experienced, sterile, professional, detailed, and gives you exactly what want, & not to mention just an amazing human being. My daughter flew in on military leave for a quick weekend and he worked his magic with the tattoo gun and his schedule to fit her in. An amazing artist and studio 10/10 would recommend.

I’ve gone to North Shore Tattoo Co a bunch of times now. I always see Jimmy when I go. He always gives me exactly what I want and always leaves me excited to come back. The shop has a good vibe and everyone seems friendly. There’s a free parking lot nearby for 2 hour parking (I’ve parked longer and never had an issue). I can’t wait until my next appointment!

I travel on average 4 hours roundtrip, give or take with traffic to visit North Shore Tattoo Company several times throughout the year. Tattoos by Barron and Jimmy River Tattoo are the best in the business. The shop is easy going, fun, clean and professional. I wish I lived closer, but I have a tattoo home at NSTC, and won’t be getting tattooed anywhere else. Quality tattoos from quality folks.

Had a cover up done by Barron and it is perfection. He has true talent, but also a great shop overall. It is clean, comfortable and fun to be in. I enjoyed the vibe through all my sessions. Looking forward to going back ! 10/10 would recommend. He is worth the wait.

Barron is an absolute beast! I have a good bit of tattoos, and have gotten tattooed by a lot of different artists, ever since going to Barron though I’ve never gone back to anyone else. The quality, creativity, color packing and experience I had at North Shore tattoo are unmatched! None of my tattoos from here had any blowout or fading. I always get comments and compliments on my knee piece that Barron did freehand! Beyond just the sheer raw talent, the environment is clean and welcoming.

Really great art. Really great atmosphere. Really great people. They listen to you and care about you. Getting a longer tattoo feels nice because you can talk to your artist while they are doing your tatoo and it makes me feel comfortable and more at ease.

Barron is Amazing! I was looking to get an American traditional tattoo cover up of on my back. I wasn’t having any luck finding an artist willing to do the cover up without having 2-3 laser tattoo removal sessions. I found Barron on instagram and didn’t hesitate one bit and was stoked about wanting to take it on without any laser. He was amazing to work with from day one. We had a consultation and he designed a beautiful back piece that I will forever cherish. His professionalism and talent is top notch. There are a lot of shops out there, but none as first class as NSTC! The shop is spotless and beautifully decorated. It’s a work of art in itself with all the beautiful flash and artwork! All the artists in staff are all hilarious, friendly and amongst most talented group of tattoo artists I have ever met. I can’t say enough great things about them and have already sent a couple referrals. I’m looking forward to having some more work done this Spring and highly recommend them. As long as I haves bear skin left or looking to cover something else up, I will never go anywhere else but to Barron and NSTC!

Best tattoo shop in the north shore area. Amazing service with an even better staff. Ive had the pleasure of getting tattooed by Sean and Jimmy so far. Both are amazing artists and super funny and friendly. I havent had the pleasure of getting tattooed by Barron yet, but needless to say, hes an amazing artist as well. The shop is always super clean and comfortable, and they have tons of flash on the walls. I absolutely recommend this shop if youre looking to get badass tattoos. 10/10, will be back. I got a tattoo from Jake LiCausi and it was a great experience. He was very cool and made sure I was feeling alright while he was tattooing. Every time I see him he asks how it healed up and he puts a lot of care in to his clients. Definitely will be going back for more tattoos

I came here recently for my first tattoo and words fall short for how happy I am with my decision! This was a *phenomenal* experience. I’d been sitting on my design with on and off research for the better part of a decade. My top priorities were 1. An artist that would be welcoming, understanding of a first time canvas, have a calming vibe, make me feel comfortable, and execute my design flawlessly (impeccable line work that meets my standards is hard to find on social media lol); and 2. A clean and welcoming studio that was local to me and felt fairly priced while also delivering top notch artistry. Sounds like a tall order, but after getting several word of mouth recommendations to check out North Shore Tattoo, I took the leap. Jimmy Mercer delivered my dream with both precision and a witty sense of humor. I am not lying when I say the vibe check passed with flying colors. You can tell everyone in the shop is passionate about their craft and very personable. I felt so at ease from walking in to walking out of the shop. Ive started going to northshore tattoo for all my work and Im never disappointed. Ive gone to Cody time and time again he is absolutely amazing. He is so creative and he is such a dynamic artist Ive loved every piece he designed for me so far. The shop has an incredible vibe and is so clean. They really care about the people who walk in the door. As a woman going into a tattoo shop it can feel intimidating and overwhelming for some but I feel right at home at northshore tattoo. Will keep going back to these guys for a long time if they arent going anywhere neither am I.

Ricky Mo is the best! I’ve followed him from 2 prior shops and this one is by far my favorite. Awesome atmosphere & all the guys are great. Currently working on my sleeve with Ricky, he’s worth the 3 hour round trip drive I make to get there.

Best spot in MA! I’ve been getting tattooed now for 15 years, and been lucky to get tatted in 10+ states and a few different countries, and it’s good to know my favorite spot is right in my backyard. I’ve gotten multiple tatts from multiple different artists here and all have been fantastic! Value/quality/customer service. Great vibe in the shop and happy to support show some North Shore pride. I’ll continue to be a customer as long as I’m getting tatted.

I have been seeing a great artist here, Jake, for a couple years. He does amazing work that I am incredibly proud of! The tattoo shop is also extremely welcoming, and makes sure you’re as comfortable as possible while getting work done. This place is legit I got my whole chest done and front torso basically as-well as a couple tattoos on my arm from Cody. The shop environment is super friendly, and everyone there is super talented. I had work done by Jimmy - I gave him an idea and he came up with the rest. The first tattoo by him was and still is the most important tattoo to me. He has always been able to work on big projects on my budget by breaking them into smaller sessions. Right now Im working on my naruto tattoo.

Last minute tattoo with Jake went amazing. From the start with process he drew an awesome skull design with his own details. Jake was very quick but precise with his work.. had nice conversations through out the session and was overly satisfied with the result

I have had the pleasure of being stabbed by Jake LiCausi (lol) about 7 years ago he did a lash tattoo on my leg (alien pizza) and was the first from him, I loved and still love it! Then again just last year at the Manchester NH Ink expo where I got a gnome on the back of my leg and I love him! Jake is awesome laid back and chill makes you feel comfortable. First trip to NSTC but had previously been tattooed by Barron and Kenny and couldn’t wait to hook back up. I was tattooed by Kenny and once again it was a great experience. He’s a super nice guy, professional, funny and is an excellent tattooer. I asked for a stem rose and just let him do his thing and I couldn’t be happier. I had no idea what I was in for, but he killed it. The lines are great, it fits perfectly in the space and the colors are unreal. I never would’ve come up with the color scheme he did which is why he’s the artist, not me. I absolutely love it.The shop is gorgeous, has a great vibe to it and you can tell than Barron put his blood, sweat and tears into that place. It’s a laidback shop, and everyone is having a good time which translates to the work being great and clients being relaxed. There’s also ample parking around the area with various lots offering 2hr and on-street if you’re lucky to snag a spot. I’m really looking forward to going back down for more work and as always it was a pleasure to see everyone and chop it up with the incredibly talented crew.

I saw James, the shops apprentice, twice in the same month here so that pretty much sums up how happy I was with my experience! I get endless compliments on the tattoos I’ve received from him. The shop is extremely clean, the atmosphere is fantastic and everyone is very friendly and welcoming! The entire shop is very traditional style heavy but the artists do a lot of different styles so if you’re looking for something black & grey or Japanese style this is also the place to go. This is a great shop to get tattooed! I saw Jimmy the apprentice and had a fantastic experience. He was as gentle as possible and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. It’s very clean and everyone is super welcoming including the owner. My tattoo came out great as well and I have gotten lots of compliments. Overall highly recommend getting your tattoo here!

The shop is wicked nice. There is TONS of flash all over the walls, mostly traditional style but they are willing to do whatever style you want. I was tattooed by the shop owner Barron who was super nice and outgoing. The shop is very clean and the apprentice James was also super nice. Both have great personalities, shop has good music, and I would definitely go back! Also, they accept walk-ins and aren’t snobs at all. Just great work and great people!

The shop first off is super pleasing to the eye. Every section of the place has a piece of artwork placed just right. Music that’s playing through the shop, always a good song on! James tattooed me and he was friendly, professional, and personable. The shop was super clean which is a must! I got smaller parts of my sleeve filled in, and I would most definitely return to finish my sleeve! Absolutely love it here.

Been wanting to get a small tattoo on the inside of my forearm for a bit. Reached out to North Shore Tattoo Company and talked to James who fit me in the same day. I was really nervous going in by myself but he made me feel super comfortable and was really friendly and knowledgeable. The tattoo is exactly what I wanted and I love the way it came out. Relatively painless and the overall experience was excellent. If you’re not a big tattoo person and are feeling intimidated this is a great place to go. Clean, professional and friendly. Back in March I started a leg sleeve with Edwin. He was pumped to take on the challenge and so was I. The first session went great, other than he had a consultation scheduled in the middle of my day long appointment, and we started almost 2 hours late. But the work he did certainly made up for it! Fast forward to my second session, he asked me if we could start early in order to get done earlier. I was fine with that. I drove 2 hours to the shop, to stand outside in the rain for 90 minutes and he never showed.He messaged me apologizing saying something came up and he forgot to notify me- but that he will open ANY Saturday up for me if I’m willing, and get a few free hours. Of course I was fine with that, I tried being understanding of the situation.We are now almost 2 months passed my missed appointment, and I haven’t heard from him. I’ve reached out several times. It really is too bad, it’s a great shop, great vibes, great art. But Edwin’s scheduling or lack there of is the deciding factor for me to find another artist to finish my leg. My low rating is for the lack of communication/scheduling/ and how it makes me feel like the art i want isn’t worth his time. Now I have to have two artists on one project. hopefully the transition is seamless and not too noticeable.If you have a one day thing, don’t let it stop you from going. If you have a long project, make sure you have a date before you leave, and be ready to possibly sit and wait for an hour before needle hits skin.

I got my tattoo done by Jimmy at North Shore Tattoo Company and upon walking into the studio, I noticed how clean and well maintained it was. I was greeted by the staff and felt welcomed and comfortable right away. I got my tattoo done on the side of my rib, so I had to allow for that area to be exposed. Jimmy was respectful and was well prepared in offering me coverings. You could tell he wanted to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. It would be a waste to not go to him and get tattooed.

I’ve gotten two tattoos from Jimmy and a flash tattoo from Sean. That flash tattoo was great quality! Jimmy did a black and grey tattoo as well as a color tattoo for me. Seriously amazing work and I cant recommend him enough! Clean shop, good atmosphere and my favorite place to get tattoos now.

This place was amazing! The atmosphere and music made me feel very comfortable and welcomed. I came in about a week ago to get my second ever tattoo, the fender logo shaded in on the back of my neck. It’s definitely an uncomfortable spot but Sean made me feel comfortable and was so fast but precise. My last tattoo faded a lot after the healing process but so far with this one I haven’t noticed any changes other than some peeling which is completely normal. The tattoo itself hasn’t been altered at all it still looks as perfect and precise as the day I got it. The vibe is very friendly and open. I enjoyed how causal everything was and it instantly felt like anyone who worked there was a friend. The shop itself is hard to take your eyes off, there’s some incredible pieces covering the walls with concepts I could’ve never even imagined. They’re both very talented artists. Pricing was fair and I will definitely be coming back soon!

Listen, when I say I could spend all of my days at this shop, I mean it. The guys here are all AMAZING. I’ve been loyal to Barron for years now, and recently got tattooed by his apprentice, James- SUCH AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE. Every one of my tattoos from these guys are just BEYOND my expectations. These guys are ARTISTS, period. They don’t judge you for wanting a tattoo, theyre not snarky, or worse… pretentious. You walk into this shop and feel like you’re WELCOME there. Everyone talks over their stations, they joke around with you, and they are all just totally genuine dudes giving really great tattoos each and every time. I’ve been to north shore tattoo three times now and they are one of the only two tattoo shops I recommend in the area. I’ve had work done by both Barron and Sean and could not be happier with both artists work. Definitely will be continuing to come here for some of the best American traditional pieces in the north shore and recommend others do too.

I contacted Barron yesterday about getting a memorial tattoo of my dog’s paw print. He told me he was booked through February, but since the piece was small he squeezed me in TODAY. I am so happy with the piece, I am glad I trusted him to do something that means so much to me. I 100% recommend and I will definitely be going back for my next tattoo.

Fantastic experience every time. Been getting a traditional sleeve done by Sean for the past 6 months, as well as a few other pieces, and I couldn’t complain if I wanted to. Sean, Barron and James all do the best trad work in the area, if you’re on the edge about going, just pull the trigger.

Super disappointed in the lack of follow up with planning an appointment. I had messaged with a brief description of what Id like done (a few words from my oldest daughter and some hearts drawn by my youngest daughter) and my availability (on vacation back home, so lots of flexibility) and was -so- happy to receive a message the next day asking if a weekday around 11 would work. I said it would, and waited to hear back.After a few days, I messaged again to see if the next few days would be a possibility, but again didnt hear anything back.A friend had suggested this spot, but unfortunately I wouldnt be able to speak to their talents, as they left me without an actual appointment.
