Trainwreck Tattoo Studio

If it says anything, my housemates and I drive from Indianapolis to see Derick at Trainwreck for some our tattoos (most of mine). Absolutely love the work he’s done. He listens to what we’re asking for and is great about presenting ideas and concepts matching our desires as well as being extremely skilled in his craft. He’s honest about feedback in what will or will not possibly work and presenting potential alternatives to consider as well. I have three from Derick and will be returning soon for many more. Great team they’ve got there at Trainwreck.

Jez did such an amazing job at my tattoo she was very sweet and made me feel comfortable with her. She has a lot of talent and I will definitely be coming back to get more tattoos from her in the future. She makes the process feel a lot easier and fun!!💞🫶

I Love Train Wreck Tattoo shop. Every one is so friendly and make you feel they have known you forever..even if it is your first time going there. Derick has worked on a few tats for me..he very knowledgeable and is great at what he does..I highly recommend going there. They will not disappoint you. Derick just finished my half sleeve..I always go ahead and book another appointment with Derick before I leave the shop. Because we have to wait to get back in..But well worth the wait.

David Gray is incredibly talented and I absolutely love my half-sleeve. This was a tribute tattoo for my two sons. Instead of having birthdates I chose to have birth-birds for the months they were born. Plus, I love trees so David free-handed the cherry blossom. This is my family tree🖤 Ive received compliment and compliment from random strangers on the street. Thank you, David!

Derick has done the memorial tattoos for my son on me, two of my daughters, and my sons best friend. He also did my tattoo representing all of my kids and grandkids (so far). His design work is flawless. His tattooing skills are amazing. And his professionalism and attitude are fantastic! I cant wait to come visit Trainwreck so he can help me with my next one!

Thad the great pleasure of working with the shops owner, David Gray. The environment from the time walking in to being taken back for my appointment was chill and fun. I havent been tatted in 2 years and was actually super nervous. Especially since setting a boundary with myself not wanting to work with male piercers or artists after many bad experiences with them in the past. Davids work was more than good enough for me to put that aside and give him a try. Not only did he exceed all already high expectations, but he is extremely professional and made me feel comfortable. The shops front desk receptionist was amazing as well. Laura was extremely bubbly, informative, welcoming, and professional. She made the little bit of time he ran over with his previous appointmentFLY, which helped with my nerves too. He is an absolute perfectionists (such a Capricorn lol), so I 100% respect it and if youre going to anyone for a service ever, especially when theyre beyond phenomenal at what they do, you should expect your appointment to never be fully on time, DUH! A lot of artists claim to specialize in black and grey shading, but are less than mediocre. The same way EVERY hair stylist to mankind specializes in blonding, but are only semi decent. David TRULY specializes in black and grey shading and does exceptional work. He pays close attention to detail, and is very meticulous. I have never had a decent let alone good experience with a Tatoo artist, and am excited that I found my forever artist. I will only be returning here even when I move out of state, I plan to return. If you are looking to book, Id do it as soon as possible considering he books out 6+ months out at all times. Im glad hes working fully independently now and cannot wait to see the business fully flourish in the next coming months.

Visiting from Florida and Derick had a last minute opening. He is phenomenal. Best tattoo I’ve ever received.

David did an amazing job on this piece! Its a memorial piece for my late step-mom, and mamaw. Ive been waiting for quite a while to get it done because I wanted it done well. After seeing some of Davids work, I knew he was the one I wanted to go to! The studio is cozy, and has a great atmosphere. I have already recommended Trainwreck to many friends of mine!

David Gray is an amazing artist. From the consultation to the actual tattoo. He listened to what I wanted and came up with a beautiful piece memorializing my cousin. I will definitely be back!

Zach has done most of my pieces(an arm sleeve and a few others) and I absolutely love them. Every piece is unique. I gave him the idea of what I wanted but he really brought it together. He took the time to really design each piece. He is extremely talented and easy going.

David Gray is a phenomenal artist. He treats your skin like a canvas and transforms your vision into a pure work of art. I am in the process of receiving my second cover-up from him to modernize my late 90s tattoos. I have a gorgeous robin and apple blossom tattoo as one and a bouquet of my children and grandchildrens birthflowers as another (Ive included before/after pics of the first as testament). Whether you seek color or not, the realism and attention to detail he presents cannot be underestimated. I highly recommend getting on his wait list to await his unique talent. David is worth the wait.

The staff at Trainwreck are professional, knowledgeable, experienced, and truly are passionate about what they do. My husband has a sleeve in progress by Zach and I have a sleeve in progress by Derick, and both of us have gotten a lot of compliments on the quality of our tattoos.

Hands down an amazing experience. Professional, great atmosphere, exceptionally amazing artists and staff. And I personally appreciate all of their patience with me during the process. I feel like I have finally found a place and an artist I can keep coming back to.
