Downers Grove Tattoo Co. offered a great experience! I went in with a friend for ear piercings and the process was smooth, easy to understand, and quick (but not rushed).Eli was patient and provided us with a variety of ear piercing options. He walked us through the cost of everything and the piercing procedure. Everything was clean and sterile. He made sure we were happy with the results before leaving.If I’m looking for more piercings (or tattoos) in the future, I will return to this location. Highly recommend!

Have now had my 3rd tattoo done by Eli. I am so happy with the results. I waited a long time for the tattoo work he’s completed. He is honest & skillful & quick. Had a great experience getting a childs ear piercing at Downers Grove Tattoo. It is clear how much Eli values service because he was so helpful and attentive to every single person. For my daughter specifically, he asked her permission for everything, which made her feel ready and in control. She walked out with a smile and was proud of her new piercing. This one was corrective, and I especially appreciated that Eli did not shame us for our mistakes. Would 100% recommend and will be taking my other kids if they choose to get their ears pierced in the future.

Took my younger brother here for his first tattoo. Eli did an awesome job. He took the time to talk to us and make sure everything was the way my brother wanted it. My brother is a type one diabetic so Eli was super thorough with the healing instructions. I’ll definitely be back to get myself another tattoo.

Eli did an amazing job saving a tough helix ear piercing I received from another studio that got infected and had my jewelry stuck inside - he was able to safely get it out and provide new jewelry. He was kind, informative, and answered all my questions - and the vibe of the shop was so comfortable and chill. I had an excellent expirience and would give more than 5 stars if I could! I went in to get my lobes pierced today and saw Eli, he was very nice and super informative about the whole process. My pain was maybe a 1/10 he spoke with me the whole time and did an amazing job. I got my first tattoo done be Eli. I showed him a picture of what I was thinking and he exceeded my expectations when he drew something 10 times better than the original idea. I wanted roses with butterflies. The tattoo process was phenomenal. Eli took his time and captured every detail. He was very friendly and was easy to talk to. Wow! Very friendly people! I walked in hoping someone had time to help me. Eli helped me with some healing issues I was having from a piercing I got at another place. He was very kind and generous. I didn’t get his name, but the other man at the front was very nice too. I visit the US once a year and if I am looking to get another piercing or a new tattoo, I will be coming back.

I took out my belly ring to have it repaired. When I went to put it back in, I couldn’t get it in. Eli assessed it and was able to put a taper in instead having to re-pierce it. Even though he doesn’t have septum rings in the shop (I should’ve called first) he was determined to help, and he was able to find a ball for me and even put it on for me, free of charge. Eli is a great dude! He has done many tattoos for me from brand new to redoing a few. He’s done great on all his work. He’s honest and fair in pricing. He’s worth the money for sure and when you have to consult with him and leave a deposit in order to make an appointment is something that makes you feel comfortable when talking about a tattoo design or what have you. This way both artist and customer are on same page. Keep bangin awesome tattoos out. I’ll always go back to Eli when I want something done!

This place is absolutely amazing! I wanted to get my two lobes pierced for the first time, and they came in absolute clutch! After calling 7-8 tattoo/piercing parlors, only for no one to answer, and showing up to two other tattoo parlors that were closed (even though they said they were open), they said they would be able to fit me and my other two friends in for piercings. Eli was our piercer, he was truly amazing! He was able to get us some great discounts, and was so helpful for my first piercings. The process was clean, and did not hurt as bad as I thought. Eli walked me though the process and made me for totally comfortable and made me feel like I was being taken care of and in great hands. It was akward at all and it felt very natural and comfortable to talk to him. I would HIGHLY recommend this place, and Eli is great, I would definitely recommend him! 10/10, would come here again!

I got my ears pierced here just today. They were so nice and accommodating, and were able to get us in the same day despite being last minute. Store manager cant answer a simple question without responding like an absolute mental patient. Ill bet his tattoos are as bad as his people skills. Wanted what would be a $3,000 tattoo, not to mention the generous tip I wouldve left. I would never give my money to someone who responds the way they did. He lied to me, tried charging me $100 bucks before I walk through the door, he tells me its standard everywhere you go. I have several tattoos, never paid that fee before. If you ask me, he belongs in a psych ward.

This place is a complete dump. If you care about professionalism and cleanliness then avoid this place at all cost. I cant speak for the other employees who work here but Jessica Bone is a complete idiot. I brought my 15 year old daughter here for a second piercing and the results were disasterous. The holes Jessica made were completely uneven. When I suggested that she use a ruler to confirm that the holes would be placed perfectly she looked at me with the dumbest look on her face like she never heard of a ruler. Which is probably the case given the results of her work. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. Its run down and totally not worth the money you are going to spend here. Seek a better more professional establishment.

Ive gotten a few tattoos from there and Eli Scott does a great job. He is super friendly and makes you feel welcome but also has very good skills and does a great job to the very detail of his tattoos. He makes the experience even better by how friendly he is and has you leaving with Great ink. I cant imagine having someone else do my tattoos now besides him. Even the most difficult tattoos and locations he has done phenomenal on. I definitely recommend this tattoo shop and ask for Eli Scott he is the best!!!!!

Staff was unfriendly on the phone. Went in person and they were even unfriendlier. Wouldnt even let me inside as I was with my under-18 daughter, even though I was there to just make an appointment. I understand not wanting kids in there but through the window I could see other clearly under-18 kids inside with their mom - so what was different about me?! I said to the guy that I guess I have to go to another place to get a tattoo and he said whatever and closed the door on me.

I went here last month to get my nose pierced. Eli Scott did my piercing. First of all, I need to say that beyond the professionalism, obvious expertise, courteousness, and patience he displayed (this was my first piercing in over 30 years), he did an amazing job! He explained everything to me thoroughly beforehand, helped me understand the process, and overall made it a great experience. He was clear about after care, gave me paperwork that reiterated everything, and made himself available to answer questions anytime after (I needed that, since I managed to accidentally pull out my piercing only days later - long story, lol). Hes a gem, and an amazing artist! I wouldnt go to anyone else for piercings or tattoos!

The only reason I am even thinking about giving this place a one star is because my tattoo artist yesterday was amazing and did a great job on the artwork they did for me. Other then that I just called yelled at and accused for making a page trying to hack their face book when really all I did was make my own post on my own page and tag them in it of the art work they did for me yesterday. The guy that just called me yelled at me to take down my post and said it was not okay to tag them in it even tho I was promoting their business and for the art work they did. Very rude and disrespectful for calling me and coming at me for something I didnt do. I unfortunately will never be going back then again because of this extremely rude call I got from them.

Went in for a tattoo on my right bicep. I have one on my left bicep already. Eli did my tat. It turned out better than I even expected! Hes very talented. Eli gave me Tatu-Derm to put on the tat after he was done and it healed up so fast. My other tattoo took 2 weeks to fully heal and this one healed totally in 4 days! Overall awesome experience. Ill definitely be going back there for my next tats!

I wanted to give Jessica the amazing review she deserves! I went in Saturday, February 6th to get a portrait tattoo done of my puppy who has past. I gave her the picture and ideas that I wanted. She went into amazing detail. Color came out amazing. Tattoo is healing great! Her work is just absolutely amazing. She was fast, professional and very clean. I’ve gotten two tattoos done by Eli and though his work is good he overcharged me tremendously. I paid $250 each for two tattoos that should have been no more than $100 each considering the size and time. Great work but mindful he rips you off nicely.

I got my first tattoo here with Jessica. I absolutely LOVED it. I texted her beforehand to schedule and appointment and discuss prices. When I got to the shop, she already had my design prepared exactly the way I wanted. The price is reasonable, and you pay beforehand—my price was determined by design and not hours. (and i love that they don’t hold a deposit unlike the other tattoo places). It only took about 10 min for her to set up everything and the tattoo process wasn’t bad at all! My tattoo took about an hour for a 3in design, and it came out nicely! She got it bandaged with a saniderm, which i really love. Would definitely come back to Jessica for more tattoos!

My wife recently got a tattoo from this place. The tattoo came out fine. She paid Eli and left without thinking much about it. It was a small tattoo and it only took the artist 15 minutes to complete. After showing the tattoo to some of her friends, she realized that she was extremely overcharged for this work. Called in and asked for an email address to send pictures for a quote. I was informed that Id have to come into the shop (40 mins away) to book another future appointment in order to get a quote. After the second visit, Id come in a third time for my first sitting.I stated that I wanted three pieces done and didnt want to discuss them in small format (ie. cellphone).A friend recommended this shop, but it doesnt make sense that I wouldnt be able to sit until my third visit.The artist I spoke to was Jen Bone. I also asked for Eli Scott but was told that had to reached out to him through Instagram, which I dont have.

John did an absolutely fantastic job on my tattoo. It was my first tattoo, and he did a great job of making me feel really comfortable about what I was committing to, and he let my mom and best friend be in the room while he worked on me. I got this tattoo two weeks after I turned eighteen, and I had the word Love tattooed in my dads handwriting as a tribute to him. It looks EXACTLY like his handwriting, I am so grateful for it. The down payment is a little higher than most places, but well worth it. It says on here that John is rude but I found him quite pleasant. And Im an eighteen year old girl, so you have to be pretty annoying to have him be rude to you. Great work, Im very happy.

Ive had 4 tattoos done here and the experience was great, the tattoos healed really well and had perfect saturation even still to this day...5+ years later. Everyone was very patient with me. Fair prices. The only thing I wish they did is finger tattoos. Always my 1st choice!!!

Extremely disappointed with the results of my tattoo! Johnny performed the work on both myself and my wife. We had a tribute tattoo done that was supposed to match. During our first visit, Johnny was very optimistic about the artwork to be done, however, after all was said and done his demeanor changed. He was full of excuses and continually talked down to us. My wife and myself paid $400 for our two tattoos and have since learned we could have had better work done for nearly half this amount. Of the portraits done on both my wife and myself, her tattoo was missing an eyebrow and my matching tattoo was missing a portion of the eye wear. We have now decided to have Johnnys work covered up and the original artwork re-done by someone else. If you are looking for an old-school tat with a simple design, perhaps Downers Grove Tattoo Co. might work for you. Make sure you inspect your tattoo carefully for missing content before you leave though. Johnny seems to overlook a lot, except for his payment.

So, I am a clean/ neat freak and this place defiantly is one of the nicest shops I have been in. Jimmy was my guy when I got an industrial piercing, very much impressed! It happened so fast and it wasnt even painful (I know everyones pain is different) but I was prepared to feel something haha. Super nice guys, highly recommend!!!

Im not going into detail and I didnt get the dudes name ( I say dude because men dont act like he did) but myself, my daughter, and a friend was treated with the utmost disrespect Ive ever experienced in a supposedly professional business. And the only thing I could chalk it up to is the dude was racist. Dude, my skin might be brown but my money is just as green. After we were very rudely dismissed unnecessarily by this dude we went right up the street and got the most professional and courteous service ever. I wouldnt recommend this place to a dog.

Was rescheduled several times and was not made aware that I had to come alone. Also, was not provided a pic or drawing of what I was going to have done after asking. Disappointed and will continue to shop around. I did ask to donate my deposit to someone who can’t afford one.

If I can give zero stars, I would. I called in ahead of time to check the availability and on the phone he was okay, got to the shop within ten minutes, walked in and right away he was rude. Saying that he had someone coming in and it will take him all night, he had no customers so I wanted to Google another place or book an appointment with him....he says, we need to leave because he doesnt want to baby sit us, very rude and will never go back.
