Living Lore Tattoo

I got tattooed by Max here. He was so pleasant and excited about my tattoo! He was patient as we moved the stencil a few times around to my liking as well. When it came to the actual tattoo, the whole process was so CLEAN! Max made sure to do everything in his power to create a sterile environment where I felt safe with a large tattoo. Max was happy to take breaks when I needed it and was super accommodating to my pain tolerance.I overall cannot recommend this shop enough, the vibes inside are immaculate and the people who run it are a joy to talk to 😍

Max is not only an amazing artist but also a warm and genuine person. I have gotten 3 tattoos from him so far and I will be going back. I love the quality of each of my tattoos. They are beautiful, carefully tattooed, and heal so nicely. I would (and do) actively recommend Max to everyone who compliments me on his work. Max is wonderful. His designs are crisp and colorful, his style is unique, and his personality made the entire process enjoyable. He was a consummate professional, and constantly checked in with me during the tattoo itself to ensure I was comfortable, that there were no design changes I wanted, that positioning was the way I wanted it, etc. I would and indeed plan to go back as soon as he opens his books. I came all the way from New Mexico just because I thought Max would do a great job, and he blew those expectations out of the water! Max was very kind and patient throughout the tattoo, which I really appreciated. I have heard so many horror stories about rude tattoo shops and Max definitely put me at ease.Not to mention - JUST LOOK AT THE TATTOO! It’s gorgeous! I am SO happy with how it turned out, and I love how many compliments it gets - because every one of them is deserved!I am eagerly awaiting Max to open up his books again so I can come back out!

Max is incredible. He is not only super talented, hes also an absolute pleasure. The tattoo he designed for me is beautiful (better than what I could have ever imagined myself) and the time spent getting tattooed was genuinely enjoyable. Living Lore is the best!! A lovey private studio with the most welcoming atmosphere. Cant recommend enough (and I do tell people all the time!). Max was an absolutely stellar to work with - a truly excellent tattoo, a thoughtful artist, a comfortable environment, and just a cool afternoon :) One unexpected bonus was Living Lores use of eco-friendly materials, which isnt super common to find from artists yet!

My wife and I recently had our first tattoo experience at the Living Lore Tattoo studio in Old Ellicott City, it is a very clean, calm, welcoming, laid back atmosphere. The studio has several windows overlooking main street so the natural light is really nice too. We worked with our artist Robyn multiple times before this though. She did our first, second, and third tattoos…and we’ll be back for our fourth, fifth, etc..always a great experience. During our visit we also had the opportunity to meet Max as well and he was very friendly and showed genuine interest in the designs we were getting. Congratulations on the new studio Robyn and Max!.

I’m absolutely amazed by the professionalism and dedication of both Max and Robyn! I have gotten two of my most recent tattoos done by Max they are so detailed, and look absolutely amazing! Max is by far the easiest tattoo artist I have ever worked with he takes his time, and goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable throughout the tattoo! I hands down recommend Living Lore Tattoo because it’s a very welcoming environment they have both created. I felt at ease and at home. If you are having any doubts don’t they will go above and beyond to make sure everything comes out the right way because they don’t cut corners.

I was so excited to see this shop open in charming Old Ellicott City. Max is an amazing artist and has designed and inked several tattoos for me (and hopefully many more to come!). I also got to meet Robyn during my visit and she was super sweet. The shop itself is bright and lovely with a zen-like atmosphere, and you get to look out at a gorgeous view of OEC while you get tattooed. Its obvious the owners have health and safety as their highest priority as the shop is super clean and strict attention was given to proper sanitary protocols. I cant wait for my next visit! Living Lore is FANTASTIC. I worked with Max, who was professional, responsive, kind, and just bonkers talented. He crafted a BEAUTIFUL tattoo, taking the idea I’ve had in my head for years and elevating it past anything I could have imagined. Everyone who sees it remarks on how beautiful it is and asks where I got it done, and honestly if I had pamphlets I’d be handing them out.The shop is sunny and clean, Max and Robyn are thoughtful, kind, and talented, and it’s definitely a question of “when” not “if” I go back and work with them again.Ten out of five stars.

Ive followed Max since his apprentice days when I got my first tattoo and Ive always been impressed by his art, care, and professionalism.Max incorporates his unique style with your input to actualize your vision into a work of art that translates seamlessy from his digital media to your skin. His application is flawless with the cleanest lines, best gradients, and harmonious use of color.Max also demonstrates exellent safety and hygiene by disinfecting equipment and surfaces, eliminating cross contamination, properly disposing of sharps, and having the skills to manage an allergic reaction with basic life support if needed.And above all, when youre in the chair Max makes you feel welcomed, comfortable, and safe with his calming demeanor and ability to walk you through each step of the tattooing process.

Dont let the fact that this is a newer studio dissuade you; Living Lore is professional, transparent with their hygiene and other policies, and clearly passionate about doing some kickass tattoos. Also, the little downtown city area is surprisingly cool, with tiny shops all around worth checking out after youve got some fresh ink. Huge recommendation!!

This is a really awesome space. Clean, cute, comfortable, and even social! The artists are collaborative and extremely talented. Making appointments is easy and payment is too (also very reasonable considering the level of work).Their work speaks for itself, check them out online!Ive one partial sleeve done here and one full sleeve as a WIP. The only thing that makes me nervous about sharing them is that it will make it harder for me to schedule appointments! Just one note, they dont have a sign out on the street yet. Just go in the door at 8030 and up to the 3rd floor, their name is on the door.

Robyn is just THE BEST! She works fast and always has good conversation. Although I might be in a LOT of pain, she still makes it a good time! I love 90 minutes away and she is worth the drive! She did a cover up for me and it looks so good

Living Lore is a great tattoo studio tucked into the Main Street of Downtown Ellicott City. Max was awesome and professional, and I will be going back for more work as soon as I can. The studio overlooks the old B&O Railroad museum and there are a few cafes nearby to grab food or coffee if your session runs long.

Excellent new tattoo spot. Both artists were extremely knowledgeable and professional. Had a consultation prior to my appointment to discuss what to expect and assure correct fit with the artist. Pricing was clear and fair. Gave extensive post care instruction. Space was clean and welcoming. 10/10 Would highly recommend.
