I have been here four times so far and I will definitely be coming back many more times in the future. Professional, clean, and friendly. Everyone makes me feel welcome and accepted. I love their jewelry selection and how they educate you the whole entire way. I’ve had my ears pierced, my septum pierced, and then went back for second holes in my ears. At each moment, Sebastian has taken the time to make sure that I was comfortable and educated about what was going to happen. At no time did I feel stressed or unsure of what came next. I am so grateful for Sebastian and the staff to help me explore who I am on this crazy journey called “my weird life”

My wife had wanted to get her nosed pierced for quite a while.We just happened upon this place by accident. We were in Queens for a half day in between flights. We planned on going to a piercing shop in the nearby mall, but they recommend trying True Expression, right around the corner. We are glad they did.Paul was a true professional, provided excellent advice, and his shop has a huge selection of jewelry. He pierced my wifes nose and it was a totally pain free experience.Highly recommend.

Paul is a very professional, experienced piercer who takes his time with his clients — I just came in for a simple set of earlobe piercings, and Paul took a lot of time to walk me through jewelry options, tell me about the healing process, and make sure that the piercing placement was optimal for the jewelry that I chose. He helped make the piercing experience very comfortable, and I appreciate that he did my earlobe piercing with as much care as a tragus or any more complicated procedure. Jewelry pieces and piercing were reasonably-priced for the quality of the work. Would definitely recommend him to friends!

I came in for a septum piercing and got one which was great, looked good, got good notes for aftercare. However they offered something they did NOT deliver on. They told me to come back in a 6 weeks time for a free aftercare session so they could check up on the healing and possibly change the ring.When I tried to book my session on the online platform, there were no slots made available for this type of appointment: I could select the consultation type of service, but when I went to select the date and time, all time slots were greyed out for the foreseeable future. I thought this might just be a website issue, so I selected a septum piercing service and figured I would just explain in person and let them know their website had an issue.However when I showed up in person, I got grumbled at and told I should have called instead (which I had tried to do but no one picked up and the voicemail was full), that I was wasting their time by booking for a service I didnt get, AND I got charged $10 for a simple reinstall of the same jewelry (the horseshoe ball had fallen out). I paid and left without arguing, but Im not going back. Why even make a consultation available on the website if the piercers dont allow it to be scheduled? And why offer it for free if thats not the case? It doesnt make sense.

I got my first earlobe piercing done with Sebastian today and I’m more than satisfied. The whole session was super professional and welcoming. Definitely worth the price, thanks!

I found this business looking for qualified piercing professionals. I made my appointment and was greeted by Sebastian. His vibe was very welcoming, confident and professional. He answered all of my questions and addressed all of my concerns. The piercing process was smooth, and pleasant. Hands down great place to go for any piercing.

What a great experience! I made an appointment to have my nostril pierced after a friend recommended the studio, and let me tell you I was so impressed, from the minute you walk in to the time you leave, the vibe is great and the professionalism of the staff is top tier. The young lady at reception…(I’m so upset I don’t remember her name) is friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and kind.Paul was my piercer and he is patient, thorough, and professional. He explains everything, and makes you feel comfortable and at ease. Their jewelry is beautiful, high quality, and unique. A follow up appointment is included with your service and an email with after care instructions and pics of your piercing help you keep track of healing time. I highly recommend this establishment.

I made an appointment for forward helix that I had been vacillating about for a while. I like discreet piercings that barely show and so I was concerned about placement (I’ve been told I don’t have the anatomy) as well as if it would interfere with work since I wear goggles every day.I even dropped in a couple time to ask questions before I even made an appt. Sebastian was super helpful, answered all my questions, and built my confidence in his ability to place the jewelry in a good spot. The appt was within the allotted time but I never felt he was rushed or in a time crunch. The actual piercing was comfortable enough I’d definitely go back if I wanted another in the future. OK so, I had such a great experience at True Expression getting my helixes (helices??) pierced, my first attempt at this review was practically a gotdamb novella. So I’mma cut right to the tl;dr, otherwise I’ll never actually post this review because I’ll keep thinking of things I loved about this studio and the people there.True Expression is the only professional piercing studio in Queens; both piercers (Paul, who’s also the owner, and Sebastian) are members of the Association of Professional Piercers, and it shows.- The professionalism and adherence to safety and hygiene protocols is on point; the energy is calm, chill, inclusive, and just correct in general.- The place was immaculate; clean, free of clutter, organized both on the floor/in the front and in the piercing room. It’s also just cool and aesthetically pleasing.- Kathy (whose name I originally spelled wrong but I fixed it!) greeted me as soon as I walked into the shop. She was friendly, welcoming, and super knowledgeable about both the procedure and the selection of body jewelry they had available.- Kathy showed me a number of great options for body jewelry based on what I described I wanted; there was no pressure or upselling and she was patient and attentive (but never overbearing) the whole time.- Sebastian was not only fastidious about hygiene procedures and protocols, he narrated them for me as he did them.- Sebastian also narrated every step of the piercing process as we went. He was professional, confident, kind, and communicative about what he was going to do, whether talking to me about placement based on my specific anatomy to ensure I would be happy with the result or letting me know when he was about to touch my ears.- Both Sebastian and Kathy put me at my ease immediately with a combination of knowing and clearly explaining all the aspects of the process, asking questions to ensure I’d be happy with my piercings and the procedure and listening to my answers, and being cool af.- Everything about the experience made me feel like I was in excellent hands, and also empowered; I was given all the information I needed to choose placement, jewelry, and piercings that suited my body and fit exactly what I wanted.Great work, safe, professional practice, and dope people. Exceptional experience. I met with Steph and Paul today and both were awesome. Paul helped me figure out what would work best based on personal preference, anatomy, and concerns about the healing process. He also took a look at some of my older piercings that I had gotten elsewhere. He is so knowledgeable and honest. He is patient and gentle, and he checked with me every step of the way to make sure we were on the same page. I am so grateful to have found this place, and I cant wait to go back. Everything about the shop, displays, jewelry, and staff is polished, pristine, and professional.

I showed up to True Expressions with a some nerves and a lot of questions. Thankfully Sebastian was incredibly detailed and patient with me throughout. The chill vibe of this place really mellows you out whilst you get an expert rundown of your options and the process before and after your piercing. I definitely recommend this place to everyone, they really take care of you here.

It’s so clean and really nice inside, they have a lot of options for jewelry and overall just a nice vibe. The woman at the front desk was super nice and professional too which makes you comfortable before the piercing. I got my industrial done by Paul and it was a great experience. He measured my ear and made sure the industrial would take before doing it. He walked me through it during the piercing and it came out amazing!! They email the care instructions and other information to make it easier too. It’s a great place; clean, professional, and friendly, I’m definitely going back for future piercings.

Got my nose pierced here last year forgot to write a review. What an amazing experience it was. I was a walk in. I feel in love with the interior it’s such a nice space, really pretty jewelry. The piercing process was seamless. My piercer listened and went over placement with me as I had gotten it pierced before but it hurt due to placement. Cannot recommend this place enough.

After many years of debating to stretch my ears to a 00g I came to check out True Expression after many seeing so many positive reviews. I was a walk in but I was quickly accommodated by Paul, he and his associate (who I forgot to ask their name, sorry!) were so helpful in explaining to me the jewelry, pricing, and my options since I had pretty healthy stretched lobes. When it came to the process it was quick and painless, Paul explained me the pros and cons of the silicone jewelry I went with which was really nice and helpful. Overall, it was a pleasant experience while being super a informative one because BACKKK IN MY DAY, it wasn’t the best or safe way to stretch my ears. Hahaha thank you True Expression I will definitely be back!

Paul is amazing! This is my second piercing with him. Both times he showed me the sterilized pieces hed be working with and told me exactly what was going to happen. My nose piercing didnt hurt at all and healed wonderfully, especially with free monthly checkups. And I just got this one done, which hurt only for a bit. (I do have a high pain tolerance.) Paul is patient as I ask about every piece of jewelry and is a delight to talk to! My confidence in him outweighs the price. Ill be back!

I got my rook and third lobe piercings done by Paul. He was very informative when it came to placements of the piercings and if they fit in the location that you want them to or not. He was friendly and came up with a beautiful design for my ear, and accommodating to the specific piercings I really wanted. The shop is crazy clean and relaxing, really takes the stress out of the entire process. Sebastian was great! very informative and clear on the entire process, what they were doing and why, and thorough with care instructions. highly highly recommend and will be back for sure if and when i ever need another piercing!

Clean, professional and precise. I was recommended to this place and have had an amazing experience here. I had to get my nostril pierced in the past already twice and I decided to give this a last shot. I was getting huge piercing bumps, and it would never heal, eventually I got frustrated and took it out. So far its been almost 2 weeks now and I have no issues with the piercing (it was really sore for about 5 days). Highly recommend!

10/10 experience, both piercers were very kind and happy to explain everything. The store and piercing rooms were extremely clean which was very clearly prioritized. I was talked through my navel piercing and even checked for the proper anatomy before being pierced, which made the entire experience much more comfortable and relaxing. The place is really clean, they known what theyre doing. They email you a picture of how your piercing looks the day of, just to keep track of it and how to take care of itThe owner is pretty great! He did my snake spider bites. One of them got pretty swollen and I was ready to remove it, but instead of doing that I went to see if there was anything they could do. he changed the bar for a longer one and he was right, the swelling went away, and it looks pretty healthy now. LISTEN TO YOUR PIERCER!

I came here to get my piercing, I had to whole where my old piecing use to be from having a keloid develop over time due to my nose piercing coming out so much times. The piercer advised me that piercing it could be bad. However I wanted to cover the holes because it made me insecure. They took good care of me. They explained what kind of nose ring they will put in and that due to it being surgical steel it won’t cause inflammation or darkening around the piercing. The piercer used a special technique. About almost 7 months later and the piercing healed up nice. I’m so happy I came here it was worth the price because the service is outstanding, their knowledge is impressive and even the whole set up. How they pierce your nose is different from a lot of places. You can tell that these people take pride and love what they do. I’d come back just to get another piercing even though I can’t think of one. Lol.

I recently saw Sebastian for a flat piercing, and he was super nice! He explained everything he was doing, and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. Probably the most thorough and clean piercing experience I’ve ever had. The end result looks great, and doesn’t hurt at all the next day.However, I will say that I definitely spent a lot more money here than l wanted to. Online it says that the starting jewelry price is $40, but the lowest price that was shown to me (after asking for a more affordable option) was $73. My friend got pierced shortly after me, and the jewelry she got was $50, so I definitely felt a little stupid that I didn’t emphasize my budget a little clearer like she had.Overall, the staff really knows their stuff, and are all super friendly! The studio itself is definitely the most professional I’ve ever been to. I would just say if you are concerned with price, you have to really emphasize your budget and be super upfront with the staff when picking your jewelry.

Honestly they are very pretentious! The shop tries to give off a Zen atmosphere and vibe but theres nothing zen about it . The cashier is extremely RUDE and has ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS . Its funny how they are trying to be high end when there hidden behind food stand (cheap rent) if your looking to spend your money on true body modifiers/ piercers then I highly suggest you stay away from this over priced shop and look at some great shops in Manhattan. I wouldnt get my dolls ears pierced here let alone a human

I picked this spot based off the reviews online — & I must say I’m 100% happy with my service. They operate off appointments only which in my opinion is awesome. The piercer, Sebastian, made me feel very comfortable. He explained everything he was doing & going to do. Everything was sterilized in front of me before the service. The whole process took about an hour or so. The jewelry available for purchase in this place is also very beautiful can’t wait to go back to purchase fun new pieces 🤩. It was a perfect experience. You pay for what you get. I would def recommend and go back for more.

10/10 recommend this place, it’s really the best especially if you’re a first timer. Cathy at the front desk was really sweet and Sebastian took his time to educate me on the piercing I wanted done. He was also super patient with me when selecting jewelry. Definitely plan on coming back here for any future piercings. It’s on the higher end of the price spectrum but absolutely worth every penny.

Sebastian was very professional and detailed about every step of the process. He is very knowledgeable and travels America doing piercings in his free time.The store was elegant and clean and had a great atmosphere. Ive been frequenting True Expression for about a year now, and I feel that I have had enough experiences with this studio and staff to write a comprehensive review. I have exclusively seen Sebastian for any services I have gotten done.My first visit, around November 2022, was a check-up for existing piercings I had done elsewhere. Sebastian was very knowledgable and informative, and advised we take pictures now and review progress in 6 weeks, as he didnt want to sell me jewelry for piercings he wasnt sure would fully heal. One was worse off and showed no improvement so it was removed, while the other showed a slight change for the better, and only then was new jewelry installed (~$40 plain titanium barbell). This interaction made me feel at ease since the beginning, since I am a grad student and would like to save money wherever possible.Around that time, I also had a jewelry change for a nostril piercing done elsewhere. The front of house staff helped me pick out a beautiful yellow gold Swarovski crystal piece which was about $90. The install was quick and effortless thanks to Sebastian.My first piercings at this studio were done shortly after, in February 2023 (about 8 months ago now). I chose to get a double conch piercing with some lavender opals by Neometal. All in, it was about $200. He continued to see me for checkups every 6 weeks and would help me with any concerns, issues, or irritation bumps. Around this time, I also got my second lobe (the one I mentioned previously that had to be removed) repierced with a Neometal piece that was about $40.I expressed interest in stretching my first nostril piercing this summer, and Sebastian ordered titanium clickers in the size I needed that they happened to be out of. Two visits later, they had arrived! That same visit (three days ago from writing this) I also wanted to add a third nostril piercing above my current two. I picked a beautiful opal piece that also went for about $40, along with the clicker ring which was $30. The process was flawless as usual and I felt very comfortable. The same night, I was looking at the new piercing and decided I wasnt fully satisfied with it; it didnt lay completely flat against my nose and stuck out when looking at me head-on. I DMd their Instagram account for advice and Sebastian was able to see me today to assess it. It was determined that a repierce was necessary to get the look I was wanting, so Sebastian removed the jewelry and held onto it to reprocess it (a very labor intensive and time consuming process). He was very reassuring that it was fine to not be satisfied with the outcome, and their job was to ensure that I left with a piercing that I was happy with. I felt comforted hearing this since it was clear how much care they had for their clients.I cannot sing the praises of this studio enough. The atmosphere is very pleasant, the staff are great, and the jewelry selection will have something that interests everyone (and if not, they can help you order something that will!). I appreciate the commitment to a safe, quality piercing experience and the staffs dedication to improving and keeping up on new piercing information by attending the yearly APP conference and classes. Sebastian himself is very welcoming, comforting, and friendly. I enjoy talking to him just as much as I enjoy the piercings I get. He gives great piercing and styling advice and I trust his opinions. Queens is very lucky to have such a great studio!My advice to new clients: dont forget your ID, dont be afraid to speak up to ensure you get exactly what you want, budget for the piercing fee stated on the website + $40 minimum jewelry fee (+ tip if you had a good experience), be patient when waiting for ordered jewelry to arrive, bring a max of one person along with you, take pictures of new piercings to keep track of them, and be early, if not on time! Its right by QCM so parking and traffic is a nightmare.

I have never had an issue with any piercing that I got done here. Very clean environment and knowledgeable staff. Every one of my questions was answered before/during the appointment, and follow-up appointments were always super informative. I can not say enough positive things about this establishment. Came here to change out my rook piercing about a year and a half ago with Paul. It was my first time changing it from the original piercing, and he was very patient & knowledgeable throughout the process. Sure thing!I went here for a nose piercing and had the best experience. The store is clean, well kept and the staff are all great. Once I made my appointment, they sent an email with all the necessary information. Keep in mind you need a negative covid test for certain piercings. When I arrived for my appointment Paul helped me pick out my jewelry and gave me very helpful advice. The piece was then taken to the back to be sterilized and prepped. Once I was called in to the room, I noticed it was clean and spacious. Paul was knowledgeable, professional and able to keep me calm when I was getting nervous. He explained the entire process and walked me through it before doing the piercing. Everything went smoothly and I am so happy with the results and that I came here. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone looking to get a professional piercing done.

This was my first time in a piercing studio ever and I will definitely be back! Booking the appointment online was very easy and straightforward, I recommend filling out the forms ahead of time online as well. A covid test is needed for facial piercings as of January 2023. A rapid test is fine and there is a mobile testing site across the street Monday-Friday. As for the studio itself, its very clean, modern, and calm. Although I went with a very simple piece of jewelry there are a wide variety of styles. Steph(?) worked the front desk and was very welcoming and professional. Paul did my nostril piercing and it looks great! The pain was minimal and short lived. He took his time to make sure I was happy with the placement and answered all questions on aftercare. I would recommend this studio to anyone!

I met Paul in the front of the house while Sebastian got set up for our appointment. Paul was very chill and answered any questions I had before my nipple piercings.I would give Sebastian an A+ for the entire experience. He is very knowledgeable about and in application of sterile technique. He easily discusses the quality of their jewelry and the rationale behind ASTM F-138 / ISO 5832-1 compliant Steel. He walks you through step by step of the process and tells you what he’s going to do before he does it. Sebastian listens to you and respects your needs throughout the process. I had a wonderful experience with him and would gladly recommend him as a piercer.Additionally, the shop is beautiful. I particularly enjoyed the photography in the back- a navel piercing in a Navel orange.

I had a wonderful experience. Very knowledgeable! They saved me from having to get my nose repierced, which would have taken 6 months to heal. They just needed to reopen/widen the piercing that I already had, which would take 3 weeks to heal. I felt safe in their hands

Everyone here was amazing. They’re all polite and professional. And the jewelry selection is phenomenal. Piercer took his time with me and made me feel so comfortable with being exposed. I cannot thank sebastian enough for my piercing. He made it so painless and also the studio was uber chic and clean. I has very minimal swelling but not that painful as oppose of what i was expecting. I had many piercing in the past that took atleast a month for full recovery but this one i was fully healed by second week. Thankyou so much 🩷

He really took his time talking to us, explaining everything and finding the right spot to pierce (which is critical for a septum piercing so I was very happy)! I have been coming to True Expression piercing studio for over 2 years. All my piercings I get done by Paul. He is amazing I love the services he provides, I also like how educated and informative he is when it comes to his profession. Paul sits you down and talks you through every detail that is needed to know about the type of piercing you are about to get and how to treat it with aftercare. He is an honest, humble individual and I trust him 100% when it comes to my piercings. The quality of his Jewerly Is great, works well with my sensitive skin. Never had any trouble with infections. I’ve gotten 6 piercings from here and they have healed gracefully. I’ve done my nose piercing with him about 3 months ago, it looks tremendous. I am in love. I received plenty of comments on how great it looks on me plus it healed wonderfully. The staff is great there as well. True Expression studio is 10 stars rated by me. I highly recommend.

This place is awesome! We took our daughter on her 13th birthday to get her nose pierced and I got mine done too. Paul was amazing! He is so kind and squeezed us in to get them done. The studio is spotless, and beautiful. The young man at the counter was so helpful also. The piercing was almost pain free and Paul is thorough with instructions. My experience was so good, I can’t imagine how it could be topped. Sebastian greeted me and answered my numerous questions and showed me several pieces. My husband found this place online for I was interested on getting some piercing done. To my surprise the place is very clean, and I do mean clean, like a doctors office. The privacy of the client is their number #1 concern and the professionalism first grade. The quality of the work and the pride shown in the workmanship is an experience worth talking about and share. Paul is his name and I recommend him 100 present. He kept me full informed of the procedure, what to expect during and after my visit. He addresed all of my concerns and answered all my questions. I went for my checkup today with my husband and as always and we received the same professional services.

The studio is so clean and even during a pandemic I felt really safe, and not to mention that the service is AMAZING Im not getting my ears pierced by anyone else! Once you try this place out you will understand what I mean. They are hands down the best studio.

I had been wanting to get my helix pierced for a while and finally was able to get an appointment with Paul. Steph at the desk was very helpful and pleasant to talk to as I waited for my appointment. Paul was extraordinary and explained everything he was doing from start to finish. The room, tools he used, and my jewelry was thoroughly sanitized and the whole process was very professional. I will be back to have Paul check on my piercing 6 weeks from now. I am going to recommend True Expressions to everyone I know. Yes, they are a little pricier than some other places I’ve been too, but I had no problem paying it because I have complete confidence that they took their time, didn’t cut any corners, and really cared about me as a customer. Wow. I am a nerd and these are my people 🛡 hands down the best retail experience I will likely have for a long time. It is reassuring to know it’s okay, even fantastic, to be obsessive about all aspects of a business. For example, the piercing studio was purposefully chosen to be the centroid of the main boroughs of NYC to be accessible to the most people. And yes, I’m glad I made the 15min trip from Manhattan and will be returning (and it’s so affordable!!!!). For my first piercing I felt at ease and comfortable asking as many questions and loved how detail-oriented and excited about their craft this place is. They were patient with my beginner questions and ideas about trying to turn an idea for earrings into a 3D print. They even have original posters from one of the originators of piercing in the US. When you go, ask questions and enjoy the details!!! Places like True Expression are RARE. Very grateful for the experience; a true high water mark for customer service and business I will use as a comparison for a long time.

I made an appointment to get an industrial piercing done. Staff is super friendly. The place is very clean. Only one person in the waiting room at any time. There’s hand sanitizer available to sanitize your hands. They also check your temperature before they begin. The entire procedure was relatively quick. Paul was my piercer. He made sure I was comfortable and relaxed. He explained the process, exactly what he was going to do and the aftercare as well. And the piercing itself was over in less a minute. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a new piercing and is looking for an experienced piercer.Update: went back for a new piercing! (nipples this time). Again, the process was smooth and easy. I was in and out in less than thirty minutes. I think Paul might be my official go-to piercer.

Literally one of the most amazing piercing places I have ever been too. I wish I would have gotten all of my piercings here. Everything was spot on amazing from the moment I CALLED just to ask questions. Multiple questions were answered on the phone with care and no rush. Same day I booked a consultation and was able to get the piercing I have wanted. Sebastian answered all questions and Paul was the best, super super professional and makes sure he only has to do the piercing one time and one time only. Everything sterilized in front of you, you choose the piercing etc. wow just wow. Both Sebastian and Paul are just beyond great. Will be back for a check up (because they do those! First off let me say the service at true expression is hands down the best Ive ever experienced. I live in North Carolina and a visit here is a must every time Im in NY. I have a total of 3 piercings and Paul is honestly the only person I trust! He explains everything before and after my piercing, and has even mailed me the proper jewelry for me to downsize. True expression is an amazing studio but above all very professional with every service they offer. I’mOn my fifth piercing and the wonderful Sebastian has been one of the best .He’s very informative and will tell you right away if your have the anatomy for a piercing or not . Steph is such a receptionist. She is informative and extremely helpful when helping pick out jewelry. Overall I love this place and will keep getting more piercings

First, let me preface this review by saying this is the cleanest piercing shop I’ve ever walked into. Everything is neatly organized. The jewelry is constantly being sanitized. Speaking of jewelry, they have SUCH a wide selection of it. You will find something that you like. The woman in front, her name slips me right now, is so friendly. The two piercers, Paul and Sebastian, worked together to remove two surface anchors I had on the side of my face by my ear. Personally, the process was painful to me. But, Paul & Sebastian talked me through it the whole time, and even did breathing exercises with me. They did their best to comfort me, give me breaks in between & to talk to me to take my mind off of the removal process. They were super nice, knowledgeable, funny and patient. I was doing a whole bunch of squirming and they were very understanding. They also changed two of my helix piercings during the appointment after the removal.These guys know what they’re doing. Everything is super clean, and COVID procedures are being followed to a T, so you can feel as safe as you can feel! Should I ever need a piercing, or have any questions about a piercing, this is the only place I will go. I will refer all my friends here.

I have had multiple piercings done at many different shops throughout my life. This shop is professional forward, and they do a great job with the detail of the actual piercing. You could tell it was very satisfying for Paul to get the piercing 1000% correct - down to the minutiae that you might not even notice. He is very good at what he does, and I would recommend him. Additionally, he only carries jewelry in his shop the making of which has no connection to sweatshop/child labor, which aligns well with my values - and maybe yours too. He seems to really care a lot about the industry itself.

I came here after having a tragus piercing poorly done at another place. Paul was amazing!! I got that earring removed so that it can close and heal well and I will definitely be getting it redone correctly here. I also got a flat done in the same appointment, and he did a great job. He guided me through everything. The place was super clean & you can tell all proper procedures are taken so that there are no contaminations/infections. Overall, it was a great, thorough experience. I came here to get my grown up adult earlobes repierce. Fact I am not a fan of needles and paranoid about cleanses and I have sensitive skin. Not an issue here. The place is sterile and they take clean very seriously. Sebastian pierced my earlobes; he was knowledgeable about his trade, informative, easy going, and thorough. I hardly felt the needle. Most importantly they are honest; it isnt about a sale, they genuinely let you know they will take their time with every appointment. And for this level of care, they are very affordable. Its worth the trip to Queens, please the mall is across the street.

For the longest ive always thought about getting my nose pierced, but i wanted to find a clean and safe place. I know that’s against “the customer is always right,” but when it comes to piercings, the customer isn’t always right.Claire’s will do “the customer is always right,” and that’s why I had incredible pain in my piercings for 15 years. The professionals at True Expressions helped me turn those problem piercings into viable ones. Now I can get the rest of the piercings I always wanted, and I can do it knowing my body won’t go through another 15 years of pain because my piercers will make sure things are done right the first time and help me fix any potential problems if I traumatize it during healing.True Expressions is more expensive than your usual guy who just wants to stick a needle through whatever you want and put low-quality unsafe jewelry in so he gets a piercing fee, but it’s pretty reasonable for high-quality bio-compatible jewelry. They are happy to do custom orders for specialized jewelry as well, but they have tons of pieces on hand.The piercers are also very generous with their time. They spent quite some time trying to help me pick out new jewelry for my next piercings after my appointment technically ended. They didn’t get impatient with my pickiness and just kept showing me new things.When my first piercings went so badly for so long, I thought I would never trust anyone else to pierce me, but this studio has earned my trust. It is absolutely worth the cost over places that are much closer and cheaper but less safe.

Best place Ive ever been to, hands down. I began stretching my ears about 4-5 years ago... With tapers. I was doing fine until I ended up getting a blow out. Went to a kiosk at Queens Center (was just looking for new jewelry) and the guy there recommended I take a look at the jewelry here. Paul is the most knowledgeable and professional person Ive ever met. My husband and I dont go anywhere else for advice, stretching or jewelry. The place is very clean and the staff are always pleasant and theres always a great selection. You can even customize some items. Paul also pierced my nose. Totally recommend his shop.

I have rarely (if ever? maybe only once before) written a review. But this place DESERVES IT! Im very new to piercings (only ever had my lobes pierced...in June of this year at another highly reputable ie super trendy shop in NYC, and unfortunately, they were pierced crooked), but decided on a whim that I wanted my nipple pierced. Though it was a quick decision, I did not take it lightly. I spent a few hours on the internet scouring for advice for best piercers in NYC, and stumbled across True Expression. They are one of few places in the NYC area who are APP certified, and all the reviews I found in all the various places I looked were glowing. So a few hours later, nervous as can be, I entered their beautiful studio.From the first 5 seconds of talking to Katherine, who was running frontline at the shop, I knew I was at the right place. She was SO welcoming and kind, and gave me the energy I needed to feel encouraged and empowered (not pushy in the least, to be clear). She then introduced me to my piercer, Sebastian, and the good times just kept rolling! I explained my nipple nerves, said I was also interested in a three more (total) lobe piercings, maybe even too nervous to do my nipple, and he talked me through all the options. He actually told me that getting three plus the nipple would be too many for my body for healing afterward, which I really appreciated. He then told me that he could ready everything, but that there would be no pressure to actually go through with any of them. If I got one (or NONE) and then felt done, that would be perfectly okay! What a lovely way to run a business!! I really felt that he prioritized my comfort.In the end, I did go through with all three (which was the goal, and I couldnt be happier) and only because of Sebastians continued warmth, knowledge, and clarity. He knew EVERYTHING. He diagnosed my previous crooked piercings, showed me the exact process for measuring everything correctly, talked me through the impeccable sterilization process, and explained everything he marked on my body, in addition to giving me stellar recommendations for piercers in the Bay Area where I spend a ton of my time in case I happened to be located there when it was time to downsize/check up on the piercings. I knew that if at any second I changed my mind, he wouldnt have blinked twice.But, Im so glad I didnt! The actual nipple piercing itself wasnt painless, but it was not terrible, and was likely a lot less painful than it could have been if Id gone elsewhere. Plus it was over in a second! I went to sleep a few hours later with ZERO pain, and woke up with ZERO pain with a beautiful new decoration to boot. My ear piercings were pretty much devoid of any discomfort at all. His work is a million times better than my first piercings, and I would return to him in a second for any future piercings despite the hour commute to Queens.In conclusion, GO HERE. THEY KNOW WHAT THE F THEYRE DOING. THEY CARE ABOUT THEIR CLIENTS AND WANT YOUR BODY TO HEAL. PLUS THEYRE REALLY AWESOME HUMANS.Thank you, thank you, thank you for a wonderful experience!!!

Even though I was in a lot of pain from the pre-existing issue, I was able to relax. I was told exactly what was going to happen, what the issue was, why it was happening, and what could be done to fix it. At one point it seemed like it couldn’t be saved and I was told that straight away, so you can rest assured that if they agree to do a piercing it’s because it can work out for you and will be safe - and that they will really try to find a way to make things work if possible.Hygiene and safety standards are also outstanding.Prices are very reasonable, it would’ve cost me less to get pierced there the first time around than it did at the not-as-reputable place. Better service, better material, more peace of mind, less pain and a happier wallet.

I just got my belly button pierced yesterday. I received a thorough exam to ensure the piercing was compatible with my body. Then I waited 7 minutes to make sure all of the tools were sterilized. The procedure was quick. The staff was welcoming. The place was very professional and I’d recommend them for any type of piercing. It was a wonderful experience.

Paul and his team run the most professional studio I have ever been to. I originally wanted to get a nostril ring piercing, but Paul informed me of the risks and why it is best to start with a stud. The procedure room was extremely clean, organized, and everything that was used was sterilized in front of me. Paul was great and very informative, professional and he made me feel comfortable. Went today for my nose piercing. Absolutely loved my experience. I was nervous about the whole experience and Kristi was very nice and friendly walked through the whole process. Everyone was very professional there and the items and jewelry I chose out was sterile. Id def recommend anybody here.

THE BEST! THE BEST! I was a walk in last week and needed some help with my tragus which was closing up on me. I also needed some jewelry for it, so I was super excited to come here and check out their pieces. From the moment I walked in the staff was so friendly. My piercer Krista was a doll she was incredibly sweet. She helped me pick a gorgeous piece for my tragus and re piercing didnt even hurt. This place is safe and clean. Krista made me feel *beyond* comfortable before, during, and after the procedure (2 fresh piercings and 3 installations in piercings that I thought were completely closed forever); she really listened to my vision re: planning my piercings; and she worked super hard to make sure that the piercings were properly aligned. Sebastian at front of house was super patient and helpful when I was trying to decide what jewelry I wanted. I didnt know where to start re: selecting jewelry and his questions were very methodical and helped lead me to the right jewelry for my style and budget.I look forward to future visits for future piercings. I was late for my appointment. So I came in the person I had the appt with was already with the next appt. I had a seat and waited. That person did not say a word to me until I said something. Im thinking, were you going to go on and not acknowledge that Im sitting here waiting🤔. Then he speaks and tells me hes booked until 3 pm. I think he would have made me wait till 3 pm without communicating that to me. I cancelled my appt. Customer service is important.

My name is Indonesia and I had a really good experience here yesterday (1/12/18) with my friend Nianna. I was looking for a place to get my tragus pierced in queens center mall but they only did helix and lobe piercings so they recommended us to here. At first walking in the prices seemed pretty expensive but for what we were getting with it, it was worth it. Paul was there to help us and he was very helpful and informative. We kept asking him a bunch of questions and he never got frustrated, he just answered them with a lot of knowledge. Even though it was close to closing. You could tell he took his job seriously and i’m sure the rest of the staff delivers the same. He was able to get me AND my friend to get a piercing! My friend goes to school in Buffalo and Paul was able to find a shop near her school so that she could still get her checkups for her piercing. Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend True Expressions to EVERYONE because of how professional, careful, perfect, informative, and helpful they are. I went in after searching for a specific jewelry type that I had looked for in several other piercing shops but had no luck finding. Thankfully True Expression carries titanium and other top quality body jewelry that is safe for people with sensitive skin such as myself. The studio alone screams “devotion” with how well put together it is and the piercer took the time to explain several different metal types. Normally I avoid going into tattoo and piercing shops fearing rude employees but the vibes here are welcoming! Everyone I spoke with was helpful- I will definitely go back to purchase more jewelry.

It’s a cool place. Just expensive. I’ve got on 4 ear piercings once. One of the cartilage piercing went inside my ear and the guy was so good, he took it out without causing me any pain.I’m not that big of a fan of their earring collection.Also, right now they are t taking walk ins. So make an appointment. I wanted to get a septum piercing and couldn’t get one.They give you the liquid with the piercing, so don’t worry about after care products.It’s in the alley behind mama empanada in case you don’t see it.

Refuse to get pierced anywhere else ever again. Super clean, staff is very friendly, they make you feel comfortable the whole time. Not just there tomake a sale, but to make sure that the piercing and piece are right for you. Plus the jewelry they have is so much nicer and unique than other places I’ve seen!

I had the best experience in True Expression walked in to the shop was greeted right away I asked questions about a nostril piercing and all my questions where answered .Krista is the best at piercing she was very nice, calm n had a positive vibe that kept me at ease. My children and I were the first ones to be attended since I booked for noon. The person in the front desk was very nice and welcoming. She made sure my kids were ok at getting their earlobes pierced. Since my kids were minors, the place need my kids birth certificate (if your child has a different last name than yours) and my kids ID, along with the parents ID. After that and the consent form was all done, we were greeted with Paul. Very nice person. He explained to my kids, the responsibility of having your ears pierced and the after care. He answered all of my questions and concerns. My kids told me it did not hurt. The place also highly recommended to come back for a follow up check up. Overall the service was great and I’ll be coming back soon. I highly recommend this place. Can be pricey, but high quality and professionals.

Clean and professional establish. They dont have music blasting and they are warm and welcoming. The know how to deal with nervous people (like my sister was for 2 secs). They dont try to push the most expensive jewelry on you. Me and my sister went to get our noses pierced and ive been to several piercing places around the country. They are by far one of the best. Went a year later for a new nose hoop but it was a little out of my budget but they were cool about and didnt make me feel bad about it either. 10/10 would let them pierce my ear during a zombie apocalypse lmaooo

They are amazing here, all the staff: Paul, Steph, and everyone. My only regret is that I didnt get to do my piercing with them because of the restrictions in N.Y. But they are very helpful with jewelery selection and everything else!

Very nice place. I went in to get new jewelery for my nose piercing and the piercers helped me pick out the jewelery for my nose as well as sanitize it. They were very nice and gave me suggestions on how to take care of it and they helped me find my size. I will be going back for more jewelry there.

I got a check up because I was worried that something went wrong with my piercing but when I got checked everything was fine and they even repositioned it so you know it healed properly theyre very helpful and I would trust them with my life.
