I had an amazing time getting this tattoo today. The artists here are absolutely amazing, they make sure that you know everything you need to know about the tattoo, what you’re going to experience, and also they put their own professional opinion and tell you the best outcome for what you are wanting. I am blown away with the experience that I was given today and will 100% be coming back to get another. Thank you Clark for the amazing experience!

Drove about 2 hours to this shop because it had good reviews and all their work looked amazing and I was not disappointed, I got my first tattoo with my bf, staff were very nice, professional, helped us with the design made sure it was all up to our standards and then did great on the fine line work. Clean place, didnt keep us waiting long even though we were walk in. My tattoo cost about 120, but very good experience would totally recommend to a friend!

Rob is an amazing tattoo artist. I told him that my husband passed away a week ago and wanted to get a hummingbird and cancer ribbon put on my forearm. He was so sweet and kept asking if I was okay. I would have Rob do another tattoo for me. The establishment is very clean and the guys were all so nice. Rob thank you for making my tattoo look amazing

20/10 would recommend. Went for a nose piercing. I’ve had them before but they’d never healed correctly and were crooked. Alex pierced my nose and did not only a phenomenal job but he also made me feel comfortable and very at ease with the process. He checked for consent each time and thoroughly explained every step. My piercing was quick, almost painless and looks way better even a day later. You get what you pay for here, amazing products and fantastic service.

Similar to what another review said, do not go here if you want a reasonably priced piercing. I had done my research and called and asked their pricing, and they only quoted me on the actual piercing price. When I came in, they asked what I wanted done. I had to wait awhile. There was a bug on the wall (alive) and I ended up moving in the limited seating area that they have.When I got my piercing and went to check out, the jewelry was way more expensive than I expected, then I got hit with a new customer fee, AND piercing fee. I understand the standard is paying for the piercing and the jewelry, but the customer fee was not expected.Circle back to now, I went to a piercer to get some jewelry changed out and they told me that the piercing that I got was pierced wrong. It was at the wrong angle which explains why it was still healing. Typically piercings take anywhere from 6 months to over 1 year, but my new piercer told me that it was pierced wrong which slows the healing process down even more.

I went out of my way to get pierced by Alex due to previous excellent experience with him at Iron Age. He is a professional through and through. You arent rushed in any way. He judges if its an appropriate area to pierce, gives you all the options (and pricing) for jewelry without pressure, and tells you about any risks associated with that specific piercing. Jewelry is autoclave sterilized in front of you, hands are washed each time before gloves come on, and hes a perfectionist (in a good way) about placement, taking the time to make sure it is what you want.

This place is awesome… the people have a great sense of humor and work super efficiently… talked with me through my first tattoo, and they were all very personable. The tattoo. I got wasn’t too expensive either even though it spanned the entire length of my tricep.

Great shop. All the people that work there are incredibly nice. Mark Skipper is my artist and does amazing work. His black and grey realism is incredible. Thanks to Mark and the team at Inkwell.

I have a few tattoos from Inkwell and a piercing. Although they do have a few talented artists most of the employees are over priced for their talent. Like most tattoo parlors they give advice on the tattoo youve picked. However, if they dont like it, instead of just saying they wont do it they completely dis your idea or design. The only thing making them stand out is their convenience, and the fact that they have the most body jewelry out of all the near by piercing shops. Unless you have to have your tattoo that day I suggest setting an appointment else where.

The tattoos that I have received here have been great. The customer service can be a bit abrasive at first but relaxes when you go back to get your tattoo. I would recommend this shop for small tattoos.

Walk ins!! Best Tattoo shop around. Clean lines, sanitized areas, good people and artists. Will be going back for any other tattoos or piercings. Healed excellently. Tattoos are expensive but for something that will be on your body forever, spend the moneyyy!!

They did an amazing job on my tattoo. They were all very professional and very friendly with every costumer. I was just there today and everyone was just having a good time. I love every experience I have there.

Awesome clean establishment. Loved the artwork around the studio. Rob did a beautiful job on my tattoo. He was very knowledgeable during consultation. He was very honest when it came to changing levels of pain due to placement of tattoo. I highly recommend Inkwell & Rob!

I went in wanting to get my rook pierced but Clayton was honest about being able to do it but it may sit weird bc of the amount of space. I ended up getting my front helix pierced instead. All of the staff was extremely nice. The piercing was fast and looks amazing! He took the time to make sure it was exactly where I wanted it to be and he let me know that changing it would be hard on my own and to just come in and he will help! I will always go back to inkwell to get any tattoos or piercings!!! Very friendly environment, clean, very welcoming, and professional!!! Highly recommend!

Darren is awesome! friendly atmosphere, clean establishment, great for getting a tattoo/piercing on a whim. this is my second tattoo here and i dont think ill go anywhere else!

Extremely professional, equipment is kept nice and clean. Always pleased with their work. If they are unable to do something on a tattoo they take time to explain. I think of them as our version of CHEERS Where Everybody Knows Your Name.

Man, Clayton got me right. Nose piercing. Don’t ask your friends how it felt for them. Go to the expert. It was a pinch and go. He was the coolest. I love my results. Also, this just happened 20 minutes ago. Google does not waste time. 😆

I just went because my 6 y/o septum piercing was hurting. The piercer helped me find better jewlery and put it in for me. He made me very comfortable and the pain is better now even after gauging up

Went with my sister as a walk in for my very first tattoo! i got tatted by brandon, and as you can see he did a very very beautiful job. he made me very happy with the results. if you are wanting to find your new go to place, this is the spot! if you ever happen to come here, ask for brandon!

Best first tattoo experience!! Only waited an hour as a walk in. They were very good at making sure you felt comfortable and making sure everything is how you want it. I will recommend them to anyone and will be coming back.

You could eat off the floor, they are the best. Ive done 6 sessions and have been satified all 6 times. I have one large tattoo. I take all my friends and family there. I believe the owner takes great pride in his place. Try going there when there not so busy and i think you will have a good experience. I will post the whole tattoo as it gets done.

I don’t really do reviews but; I’m very happy with my appointment yesterday. Had Rob ink up my first tattoo and he killed it. Good group of gents in there, definitely will be back. Can’t wait to see this fully healed.

Never even got past the request. Was told chibi cartoon birds were too complicated to draw. The artist traced reference photos and couldnt even deliver the pose which was not complicated. Unless you just want a copy and paste job dont go here and be prepared to not have an artist be able to fix up any touch ups needed.

I was nervous because there were multiple reviews that were really negative and nasty, but my experience was great! The shop is large, clean, and comfortable, and everyone who was working when I went was super friendly and helpful. I got a music note about the size of a quarter, and the price was very fair- and the tattoo looks great! There were a couple people ahead of me when I went, but since there were three artists working I only had about a ten minute or so wait and was in and out in under half an hour (the actual tattoo only took about three minutes). However, the website specifically says it’s first come first serve, so I wouldn’t have been upset even if I’d had a longer wait. Anyways, 10/10 service and 12/10 result, I definitely recommend Inkwell!

Man, I seriously cant say enough good about this place. Their work speaks for itself. You wont find better artists. Period. The shop is always clean, beautifully decorated, and they even have neat little couches to sit on while you wait. The pricing is above fair, especially for what you get. And did I mention how amazingly beautiful their work is? Seriously. Dont go anywhere else. My artwork done by Micah Richter.

Awesome, awesome experience. My brother and I came in to get small sibling tattoos (no appointment, we just walked in) on a Sunday around 2:30. We waited less than 10 minutes and were both done with our tattoos in another 10. The entire visit was under 30 minutes and the service was fantastic. Ive been in a decent number of tattoo parlors and this was the cleanest, most orderly shop I have ever been in. Our artist was great (it was my brothers first tattoo) and made us both feel at ease. There is a $50 shop minimum (which is pretty par for the course). I would definitely get another tattoo with them!

Clayton did an awesome job piercing my flat twice. Mask required and only the person getting a tattoo or piercing allowed inside. Very clean place!

Best piercers and they got a nice jewelry selection, they only work with gold and titanium and I got myself a nice gold ring!

I got my nose and ears pierced and Clayton did great! He was really cool and everything was very clean and professional. Would definitely recommend

I would definitely recommend coming here. My daughter and I felt immediately at ease w the staff. The staff are amazing at what they do and will help you create a perfect tattoo with what you have in mind. My daughter and I lucky to get the artist Rob to do our tattoos. They turned out perfect.

Brandon did an amazing job on my tattoo! I told him my vision and gave him some ideas and he definitely delivered! Since it’s a bigger piece it did take a couple hours but he made conversation to make the time go by faster. I would go to Inkwell and see him again!

Not impressed.I’ll go elsewhere. Did not feel comfortable in the slightest, not like Epic ink. I enjoy an open friendly tattoo shop this one leaves for more to be desired. I went in for estimate they threw out a price we all know was RIDICULOUS and expected me to gasp. I just threw 17K cash down on a mommy makeover JOKES ON THEM.I was looking to spend some decent $$$Don’t go to this place they’ll deny your idea.I’ve had scars tatted over, no biggie ! Never had a tattoo artist say a stretch mark is not doable. You can tell these ppl are rookies

I got my tattoos back in January but only now remember to write a review. These 2 tattoos cost me $200! I was kinda shocked when given the price but went for it anyway bc I had waited for over an hour . I originally wanted something much smaller for the ankle tat, almost like fine line/dainty work - but they told me they couldn’t do it bc the ink would smudge together. Okay fine, should’ve done my research that these people dont do small word tattoo. I got it in the size they recommended anyway but it is very very different from what I originally wanted. Then my Leo tat, this one was horrible bc as you can see, it has already faded partially. And mind you, this has been this way since 2 weeks after my tattoo peeled. 2 WEEKS! How could you mess up an easy zodiac sign tat like this? I dont get it. plus they overcharged me too. employees were childish and their conversations were litterally like high shool dudes. i DO NOT recommend. feel like I wasted my money and time going here :)

Brought my son to get his first tattoo. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The tattoo was exactly what he wanted and looks amazing. Definitely recommend them to anyone getting their first or 10th tattoo. Rob was his artist and he was very good with my son and offered breaks every so often. It was an all around great atmosphere and experience. I will be getting my next tattoo from them.

Phenomenal experience! I got my fiancée his first tattoo ever for his birthday. Hes a comic book fanatic, and has wanted this for years.Walked in, they drew up exactly what he envisioned, and had it done in about 40 minutes!We are so happy with it!! Would definitely recommend them!

I have so much love and care for Inkwell and every person working there. They have always been so kind, caring, and considerate. I’ve had over 14 tattoos done there, and they’ve pierced my septum and nostrils. All came out perfect. All the the tattoo artists and the piercer are HIGHLY skilled. The healing process for all of my tattoos have been easy and smooth! Not to mention the place is always clean and spotless! I have complete trust in every employee. They want nothing but the best for their customers no doubt! I would definitely consider this a safe place ❤️

The Piercer is amazing. It was expensive, but totally worth it. The piercings I got only hurt for one day compared to when a couple years back when I got them done they hurt for months! The jewelry he has is all internally threaded and beautiful! I would totally recommend getting a piercing here, but be prepared to pay for the quality you will receive.

THIS PLACE IS BAD I Took someone to get 2 very small simple tattoos with no detail or color and spent double what I would’ve at any other shop, and a line on one of the tattoos was crooked and uneven. All employees except the bald guy were yelling over each other trying to be funny but it just came off weird(I understand tattoo places aren’t supposed to be professional I’ve been to plenty, but these dudes were another level of cringe) there’s so many other great shops in this area or STL you can go to. I recommend Epic ink

I got my first ever tattoo here in feb of 2022 a week or two after my 18th birthday. just never reviewed this place, but i remember my experience well and it was great. the man who tattooed me (i cant remember his name, but i believe he was a fella with an impressive beard) made me feel very comfortable and talked to me the whole time. even made sure to mention that one of his biggest priorities was making my tattoo straight and uniform. definitely save up for this place if you can, prices are worth it and my tattoo still looks as crisp and sharp as it did on the very first day. i know i definitely want my first piercing in the future so might come back here for that too, lol.(the photo is of my tattoo on the day i got it, not a recent one)

The Inkwell provides a safe, clean and professional environment for tattoos and piercings. Their talented, knowledgable artists listen to concerns and questions and they provide appropriate feedback and quality information. Overall my tattoo and nose piercing experience was positive.. I would have given 5 stars had they agreed to fill in the ink on my clavicle that is faded and uneven. Their policy requires the touch up within six months which may be customary in this line of work, not too sure, but I dont agree, so 4 stars it is.

Clayton did me and my daughters piercings (nose and septum). He made us feel really comfortable and walked us through every step. Very clean and everything was sterilized. The price is told to you at the very beginning, so you arent left in the dark about that. Would definitely recommend anyone wanting a piercing to come see Clayton!!!

I went here with my friend to get my first tattoo. She was getting her fourth and she raved about them. Alex was funny as hell and also very informative, he was doing the check in process. I had Brandon as my tattoo artist and he did fantastic!! I am getting tons of compliments on it! My friend had Jessica and she was amazing as well. Both tattoos turned out amazing. I was directed to visit inkwell for my navel piercing earlier this year, and was so impressed with the piercer that i came back two months later for my nipple piercings. i am a piercing enthusiast and really appreciate the piercer’s dedication to cleanliness and safety. he uses only internally threaded jewelry and has numerous signs in his piercing room explaining the benefits of internally threaded jewelry, and it really does make a huge difference with keeping body and facial piercings clean, safe, and infection-free. i appreciate the privacy of a separate room for getting piercings, and was especially impressed with his use of an autoclave to disinfect all his tools and jewelry, as i take the cleanliness and safety of my piercings very seriously. i expected my nipple piercings to be much worse than they ended up being, but he took so much care with the piercings and placing the jewelry in them that the soreness had mostly disappeared by the next day. the jewelry he has available to pierce with is much nicer and has a lot more variety than many other piercing shops, which is great when getting piercings that can take 6 months-a year to heal. you’ll spend quite a bit more here on piercings than other shops in the area might offer, but it is completely worth it for the high quality internally threaded jewelry and the exceptional care and cleanliness of his piercings. definitely worth it, especially for sensitive body piercings!!

My sister and I got matching tattoos on honor of our dad fighting cancer. This place blew any big name St. Louis tattoo parlor out of the water! They were kind, helpful and showed true knowledge of the business. Darren was an Angel! We loved his art work and his mannerism! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience

My second time getting a tattoo here. Darrin is absolutely amazing and the rest of the guys there today were a blast! My new tattoo looks amazing and they were very patient with helping me design just the right thing!! Will definitely return when I’m ready for my next one!!

I got my noses pierced as an impulsive decision and I am so glad I went to Inkwell. I had Clayton as my piercer who was super professional, laid back, was easy to talk to, and he make sure if I had any questions, he answered them. Highly recommend!!

They actually had the audacity to judge my friends tattoo design and say its “awful” right to her face and continued to press her for what she even wanted to do in life and when she said she wanted to become a tattoo aritist too they laughed at her face and belittled her saying she had to show them her work and that it wouldnt ever work out for her. Id give it lower than one star if i could. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

I got my nose pierced there. First piercing ever. The gentleman working there was very professional and reassuring. He helped me pick out my nose stud and walked me through the entire procedure and aftercare. Highly recommend!

Went into today to get my very first tattoo! Had my friend come for moral support, I was sooo nervous but when I got back there with Brandon, he cracked a few jokes and I was feeling great again! I didn’t like the pain (obviously) of getting the tattoo, but it was such a nice experience!! I will go back for more tattoos in the future! Definitely recommend!

Had a nose piercing done at a different place and was not happy with it, so I took it out and came here. Clayton was super nice and thorough. He placed it in the perfect location and I love it!! Will definitely be coming back again!!!

Got my tattoo here. Clean facility. Staff are nice. They gave me a 600$ estimate for this. I wont say the final price, but i paid almost less than half of it!!! And the tattoo is GREAT! It may look crooked on the picture but looks great in person! Def gonna go back! And Clark was a beast!

I have been here twice and got Brad both times. He is an absolute sweetheart! My tattoos both came out wonderfully. All the staff treat everyone so nicely and are super funny. Definitely will be coming back.

I had Brad work on 3 pieces for me today. Impressed with his linework, black and grey, and the beautiful watercolors. I highly recommend this shop, it is clean and they put out top quality work.

Unless you want A very simple tattoo dont go here. My experience today was awful. Waited for 2 and a half hours after telling them what I wanted just for the owner to call me up for my turn. He proceeded to trash talk my dog who I wanted to get tattooed, and said he couldnt do the work I wanted. I asked why they didnt tell me that two and half hours ago and the response was they were busy and I should have been there two and half hours before the other people.... I was there at 12:10 .... Ten minutes after they opened. Very unprofessional and wont be getting my buisness again.

The tattooists are great! But the man that draws up the tattoos is TERRIBLE! I waited six hours for him to tell me he couldn’t do my idea tattoo I came for. “It wouldn’t fit the areas you want it” meanwhile it was heard by two people including me that he just couldn’t draw it up. Instead of saying he wasn’t confident enough to do it, he wasted hours of my time to tel me and charged me EIGHTY bucks for the smallest tattoo !!! I was just ready to go, the tattoo was for my father who passed from brain & lung cancer 4 months ago

First tattoo and it could not have been a better experience. Alex was working front counter and Brad did my tattoo. Both were very nice and made me feel comfortable. Place was very clean and I was in and out in no time. Highly recommend the place.

Couples issues, I understand a face tattoo... say you won’t do it, but what kind of shop tells you they will or won’t do something that you came in and paid for? They are super rude, they ask your “budget” and raise prices depending on what you say obviously... but they completely removed half my work from the picture I showed and still charged me $300 for a simple tattoo, gave them multiple tries, def go else where.

It has been several years since my last visit to the Inkwell. I was happy to recognize familiar faces when I walked into the clean shop. I was greeted and helped right away. The guys were all friendly . Donny was my artist and he did an amazing job. Donny was very polite. When I was done he gave me and card with the instructions on how to care for my new tattoo and told me if I had any questions or problems to call him! This is GREAT customer service!!! I would highly recommend the Inkwell. I will be back if I decide to get more. I have 4 and all from the Inkwell. Just cant go anywhere else!

The few times Ive been here were okay, got a piercing awhile ago and the wait time was long, but everything else was fine. Have tried coming in a few times over the last few months but they dont even seem to know if theyre going to have their own employees in or not. Highly recommend just going to a place in stl.

Awesome place!!! Went in wanting an industrial piercing. They brought out the piercer and he took a look at my ear and told me the anatomy of my ear was not right for that sort of piercing. He even drew me a picture to better explain why that wouldnt work for me. Then took the time to show me pictures of different piercings I could get that would better fit my ear. When I finally decided to get a conch piercing he took me back prepped me and walked me through the whole process and made sure we were both on the same page. Absolutely loved my experience there!!Very clean and comfortable environment. Will not be going anywhere else to get any other tattoos or piercings but Inkwell!!

The staff is rude especially the woman at the front desk. They will not work with you prior to coming in. When you get there they spend about 10 minutes drawing up a tattoo that you think is just a rough draft and the real thing will look way better because the artists all have pretty good profiles. It is not a rough draft. They do not make appointments and this place would be a lot better if you actually got more than 5 minutes to explain to your artist what you wanted before they walk away or start talking to their coworkers in the middle of the conversation youre trying to have with them. I will not be coming back.

Jessica is a fantastic and efficient artist, and Alex is friendly and helpful! The whole crew made me feel so comfortable and welcome and the price point was impressive, too! Definitely coming back here for anything I need in the future.

Just got my first tattoo yesterday and it was truly the best experience. The staff was friendly and fun yet very professional. I have gotten all 3 of my tats from Inkwell. There is a reason why I had a 2 hour wait. They are very reputable and busy. SO worth the wait I love my new tattoo. I have gotten SO many compliments. The owner, Clar,k, did mine and absolutely nailed the color and everything! I called to let them know and, for some crazy reason, thought his name was Troy. When they told me there was no Troy who worked there I told them it was the owner and they told me it was Clark. I might have felt guilty about getting his name wrong if it werent for the fact that, during my session, he pretended to mess it up so he had it coming! LOL By the way, they also have a great sense of humor!!

Went in there close to closing, but they waited on us anyway. Most people wouldve sent us on our way. My youngest got her bellybutton pierced for her 18th birthday and my oldest got her upper ear cartilage pierced. Piercer was very professional. All products were sterile and in their own packaging. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Second time walking in to this shop and they have turned my husbands ideas away. First time, he wanted a chest piece and they said it would be “thousands” which is not true. Second time, we wanted a small tattoo probably 30 minutes and one of the guys said it wasnt possible to do. They are unprofessional and lazy. Everytime i have walked in they just sit there and don’t try to work with you. Also, beware the shop closes at 9pm but they stop taking walk ins at 7pm even if your tattoo is small. Absolutely the worst experience i have ever had.

Clayton did my piercing almost 2 months ago. He was polite, attentive, and skilled. Followed his precise instructions for aftercare and I havent had any complications. Cant wait to go back and get my post shortened on my nose piercing. Highly recommend Clayton.

Cant recommend this place enough, Ive never had an issue with the staff here, super friendly staff and super professional and clean environment. All of the artists there are super experienced and super helpful. If you want a tattoo in the area you really cant go wrong here.

I get all of my piercings here and will get my tattoos done here too. My daughter wants her ears pierced. Once we have an ID for her we will be back to get her ears pierced here. I 100% respect Inkwell for abiding by the states requirements for piercing minors, no matter how insane they seem or how often they change. Got my first tattoo here by Stevie, she did amazing, detailed work on my shoulder. I had no problems. On the other hand, I’ve also gotten my Tragus pierced by Clayton. The skin grew over the back of it making it extremely painful(the jewelry was too short) and he told me that I must’ve not been cleaning it, although I cleaned it twice a day if not more. I’ll continue going back for Stevie, but prefer piercings at TRX.

Jessica did my tattoo and did a great job! Hardly any bleeding or pain and it looks beautiful. Granted everyone heals differently, but she really cares about how the tattoos turn out. Definitely going to her for my next one.

Clean place. Experienced staff. Fast and profressional service. Note: confirm prices before getting anything done. I got a basic nose piercing. The piercing, plus the ring came out to $70. Okay, cool. Fast forward four months later, I go to get a different ring put in, and its a whopping $77. Same kind of metal, gold. I did not expect the price to be that much for a new ring only. I couldve gotten another nose piercing for that price. It seems that they charge for 1.) The piercing, 2.) The ring itself, 3.) Some kind of commision price for the artist, because the board says $30 for a basic nose piercing. Overall okay experience, but they are extremely pricey.

Rude staff from first visit and followup calls. Had a simple rose done, ink did not take well. After area was well healed tried to get the tattoo touched up & was told the problem was me & they could recolor but it would be considered a cover-up & charged accordingly! Seriously? Nope. Ended up having the ink fixed at another shop; who were amazing & after hearing what happened didnt charge me for fixing another studios poor quality (needless to say the artist got a huge tip).

First time getting a tattoo, walked in with my design that I handdrew and asked them if they could make it really amazing. They said yes as long as I paid a $20 deposit. Asked to see what they had come up with a few days later and they said they couldnt show me Id just have to come in and get it ($500) I said that might be possible but Id like to see it first and they completely ignored me and never gave me back my deposit or my sketch...

Ive been a customer at Inkwell since 2003 when I was stationed at Scott AFB. Even when I lived elsewhere, I wouldnt let another artist touch me. These guys and gals are amazing. Theyre friendly, helpful, and great at what they do.

The minute you step in to Ink Well, youre laughing your booty off and having a great time. Its like hanging out with friends or family members you actually like and dont want to duct tape to the wall. They are very professional with what they do there, but youre never nervous and you never feel like just a customer. I will go to Luc every single time I want something pierced. He answered all of my questions and it was an awesome experience.

Literally if yourre not 18-25, giggly, and possess large breasts you shouldnt go here. Waited for over three hours (which was understandable) and watched as the guy at the counter told different people walking in completely different wait times. The time he would tell people was directly in relation to their appearance and how young and giggly they were. Very poor business practice.

My wife and I came in July 3rd to get tattoos. We had waited just over 2 hours and I was next. Thats when the gentleman running the front desk asked if the lady behind my wife and I could go in front of us. The person also admitted to knowing your employee since he was a child. I dont think its right toask customers to do something like that and especially in front of that other customer and then to further describe our pieces asGiant to her small piece. Sweet Meat wasnt that big.

Not worth the money. 4 small names on my husbands arm was 100.00. the cardinal my daughter got looks like a kid drew it. They told them because of their situation they would get them in when they knew they were coming.3 hours later they finally got out of the place. I always heard good things about them but I totally disagree after all this. Very disappointed

I got a tattoo in October of 2017 and was told I would get a free touch up once it heals. I was told that they do not schedule appointments for touch ups and would have to just come in when the artist is free. I have been in multiple times throughout the past year, on weekdays and weekends and taken PTO off work, to try to get my tattoo touched up since it did not turn out well but everytime I go in, the guy at the front desk says the artist is busy and to just write down my name and number and theyll call me when the artist is free but I have never received a call and they still refused to let me schedule an appointment after coming up there multiple times. It is extremely frustrating to drive all the way from STL to Fairview multiple times to be brushed off, especially since I paid $400.00 for the tattoo, which was overpriced especially for the terrible customer service I received. Really dont like writing bad reviews but this has been a terrible experience and Im left with a rough looking tattoo that Im going to have to pay again to have another shop fix.

Ive been going to inkwell for a few years now. Ive had all of my tattoos done at inkwell with two different artists. One has moved on to another shop. The artist I have now Stevie: IS THE BEST. She does awesome work, loves tattooing, and having fun doing it. If you are looking to get a tattoo inkwell is the only place to go. Every artist does amazing work you cant go wrong with any of there artists.

Love Inkwell! All the guys there are super nice and know what theyre talking about. Ive had work done by two artists, and all three pieces came out beautiful. This is the only place I would recommend to a friend looking for tattoos or body piercings.

I waited almost 4hrs for a coverup only to be told i was better off getting it removed. Another artist came up and said he could do it but the atmosphere definitely changed after i mentioned how long i waited. They would not offer any other solutions or go with my suggestions and told me it “would look like shit”. Maybe just go somewhere else honestly and save yourself the heartache

I just recently got my first tattoo at Inkwell in Fairview! I was kinda freaked out and extremely nervous! I got my tattoo on my ankle. It was done by Brandon Turner! He was awesome! He was very patient with me being scared and a little sick at times. He is very blunt and to the point but his work is incredible! I highly recommend him and the Inkwell team!

The tattoo was not worth the money I paid. I could have gotten a better tattoo for a better price and by an artist I actually liked. When the tattoo healed there was blowout due to over penetration. Not quality work.

Rude staff. Lady at the front desk doesn’t know how to smile and seemed annoyed with everyone/every customer. My boyfriend wanted to add on to his tattoo , the artist said the picture he had was too detailed to start with, then said his tattoo was impossible to do anything to and to get laser removal. As an “artist” he didn’t give any other recommendations or thoughts about the tattoo - just kept telling him to get it laser removed. We left and went to all star tattoo and they added on to the tattoo without any questions or issues, just how he wanted it. Not sure how this place stays open if the artists don’t feel like actually doing their job

Safe to say I wont be coming here ever again. Very clean, open shop. However, the one tattoo I have from Inkwell has already faded and I just got in done in 2014. I have a tattoo on my wrist from Integrity tattoos from almost 6 years ago and it still looks awesome and does not need touched up. Inkwell charges far too much for bad-quality of ink. I hope everyone else has had a better experience but, they dont have my vote. Hope the ink quality is improved.

I got a single cartilage piercing and it was $207 without the tip. I was not satisfied with the atmosphere at the back of the shop, however the receptionist at the front counter was nice. Overall, the experience was not worth the money.

Got tattoo and ear piercing, too. EverONe is so friendly and accommodating. A welcoming atmosphere for sure.

Me and a friend went in to get different ear piercings (I got my conch pierced and she got her double helix). The staff was very friendly and the experience was great in terms of customer service, but I was absolutely blown away when we went up to pay. The piercer, who never said his name or anything about him, never said a word about prices for the jewelry. I got a gold piece which, unbeknownst to me was astronomically more expensive than any of the other earring options. Again, the piercer never said anything with regards to this until after the piece was in my ear. I ended up paying $160 for a conch piercing, and my friend’s were about $220. I was so disappointed and astonished at the complete lack of transparency and information by the staff at Inkwell. Their prices are astronomical, especially when you expect to pay about $100 for a piercing and the bill is far more than that.

We had just called within a half hour of arriving. But I guess in that time the only piercer had gone home. Just disappointed they did tell is that on the phone when we were asking questions about pricing and if we need an appointment. Giving them a 2 star because I have heard good things

This place was on point! From the helpful staff to the tattoos themselves. Super comfortable environment and so modernized . Went in looking for a small tricep piece. Nothing too fancy. I got Brad as my tattooist. Friendly guy. let me chill and watch some netflix while I was getting it done. Helped killed some time. Anyway Brad been tating for awhile and it shows! (16+ years) He got it knocked out nice and fast. Came out perfect. I will definitely be returning here. Recommending this place to friends! Thanks again guys.

Brandon is amazing and the only artist Ive trusted to tattoo me. The pink rose was done less than an hour ago, and the white and red roses where done a couple years ago and have healed amazingly.

Dont go here for a tattoo. I went here for a large piece on my back with Clark. We had to schedule over multiple sessions. We were 6 hours in and I had to reschedule my next appointment because I had family visiting. I called everyday for a week leading up to my scheduled appointment. I kept getting told that Clark wasnt there and that I could only speak to Clark to reschedule. I call the day off an hour before and was told that he had left for the day. I kept calling after that. Same results for a month. When I came to get my security deposit back, I was told that I had been a no call no show and so he kept the money.No business ethics. No accountability. I will never go back there.

Employees were vulgar and rude. Didnt even attempt to estimate a price or a wait time. Just because you are getting a tattoo doesnt mean you want to be cursed at.

Been in on a few occasions for different things. Even had 2 friends ask me to come my first time because they said, every time we go in theyre just a**holes about everything. After 4 separate visits now ive got the worst taste in my mouth. From all ive noticed maybe if I were a female and/or wore all black and/or had money hanging out of my pocket I wouldnt receive the lackluster service. The 2 stars is for the one not rude guy I met my 2nd time in.

My most recent tattoo I had done at inkwell. LOOKS LIKE I WAS TATTOOED IN A MOVING CAR! I am very unhappy with the artwork I received and when I critiqued the drawing Darren made he said “ I was only copying the picture you game me.” He has no regard to what he puts on people’s bodies for life. Messed up my sisters tattoo so bad and then said “ I don’t know what you want me to do about it “. He is completely unprofessional. I will never go back.

I went in for a in memory tattoo for my fiance that recently passed. I was very determined about what I wanted with a sketch to show and a size in mind. The first gentleman told me (with obvious regret in his tone) that he didnt think it would be possible with the size I wanted. I was devastated. He immediately went and got a seasoned artist and not only did they tweak my sketch to perfection but made it as close to what I wanted with the mindframe of doing true honor to what this art represented to me. He listened to me as I told my story with tears running down my face and made the experiance apart of my healing process. I will never forget his kindness and determination to give me the perfect tattoo I needed. THANK YOU DARRIN

My tattoo that I got done yesterday looks AWFUL! It does not match on both sides. I had asked Darren if he could fix it and he shrugged his shoulders and said “I don’t know what you want me to do about it.” I was standing there crying because I have something that looks like trash on my body for the rest of my life. I was worried about going here in the first place and I will definitely never be back.

As much as I want to give them 1 star just cause I like to mess with them I cant. Inkwell is by far the best tatoo shop in the stl area. Every artist here is as good if not better then all the other shops. Been going to inkwell since day 1 at the old location and this will always be my shop when visiting back home.

Very informative and very professional. Will suggest you not to get work that will not last ( I wanted a tattoo on my hand). Rather than take my money, they basically pleaded with me to not go through work that was inevitably going to be ruined over time.

I just recently went here to get a piercing and despite the price being a bit on the high side, they had excellent customer service, answered all my questions and concerns, and was very polite and sanitary considering the concerns with covid.

Pulled up at 845 pm on Sunday to find out what they could draw for me for my parents after just losomg my mom last mom - to come back tomorrow or sometime this week only to pull up and watch all three of then talking and suddenly turn the lights off! Really poor service! Im sure they are not concerned about losing a customer.
