Rachael is a GODSEND. I had a tattoo done a couple years ago, that I didn’t love and she absolutely brought it to life. She is so talented and knows what she’s doing. I can’t thank you enough, Rachael! I’m so happy with my tattoo. Attached are before and after photos. 🌸 will definitely be back for more work.

Rachael did an amazing job and was super helpful and kind throughout the entire process of my first tattoo :) She lined up everything perfectly and made sure I was okay and comfortable through the process! Overall a very great experience!!

*FYI The tattoo is the ship/octopus/ lighthouse. The photos are after the wrap was put on, and the photo with the idea overtop of my arm*After looking at multiple sites and Instagram pages I finally landed at the black label collective with Kaly as my artist in falls church. The shop was really nice and clean. Getting my tattoo done by Kaly turned out to be one of the best choices I ever made. I loved his process, and the final outcome. I emailed Kaly my ideas with some photos for reference, and a photo of my arm where I wanted the tattoo. After scheduling the appointment he sent me a few photos of his vision for the tattoo, and had it over top of my arm to help me visualize it, which was incredibly helpful. Every artist should do that. I was there for 8 hours, 6.5 of actual tattooing but it didnt feel that long because of Kalys ability to connect with someone. After a few hours we learned we both liked one piece so he put it on a tv and I could watch that for the last few hours while he could focus on finishing up the work of art on my arm. I definitely plan on coming back to BLC and Kaly in the future for my next piece!

I have been going to Rachel for the past year to get 2 (so far!) tattoos from her. Everything about her vibe is amazing, and I always felt so comfortable around her. She is super nice and very easy to talk to (or not, if you want peace!) A few times I had to shut down because I was being a punk, and she completely let me go into my zone :P I HIGHLY recommend Rachel, especially if you are looking for an illustrative type of style tattoo. Congratulations, you can stop looking for a tattoo shop, you found it! All the artists do impeccable jobs. The shop is clean, everyone is very friendly and welcoming. I came in for a consultation on a sleeve and Kali knocked it out of the park over the next 6 months . I never would have imagined the amount of detail captured as possible.

Ryu has done my whole arm and did a great job. I constantly receive compliments from his art and he made the hours fly by from just being a friendly person to talk too.

I got my first tattoo done by Rachael a few months ago and it completely exceeded my expectations! The process prior to finding Rachael was intimidating and made me push off getting a tattoo for many years. She was very welcoming and eased all my worries. Her space feels very safe and clean. HORRIBLE!!! I would rate this place zero stars if possible. Went and got a SUPER simple solid black wedding band around my ring finger. Got this tattoo done by Ryu, and I will make sure I tell everyone to not go to him. I have attached photos of the work so you can see for yourself. I got this done Friday evening and these photos were taken the Tuesday directly after. The ring lines are not even at all, thicker in some parts and thinner in others. And it is completely GONE. Faded away. Completely understand higher trafficked areas are in need of more touch ups, however for $100 the work should absolutely NOT look like this just a couple days later. BEWARE!!!!! I would AVOID Blxck Label Collective AT ALL COSTS!!!!

Great experience/chill atmosphere for my first Tattoo. Spike worked with me on my initial design and I was very impressed on how it all came together. Prompt, professional and Mad Talented. Awesome design!! Will definitely be back soon.. with family and friends!

I got my very first tattoo done by Rachel, and let me just say she went above and beyond. She was very considerate of my budget and overall made me feel so comfortable. She did a beautiful spin on a sketch from my Great Grandma I love that she honored her work but still put her creative touch on it. Everyone who’s seen the tattoo so far is immediately amazed and wants to know who did it. I will be recommending her and most certainly going to her for any tattoos I decide to get in the future. She also made sure to answer every single question I had and was very responsive and understanding. Rachel is fantastic!

Blxck Label Collective is a top-notch shop with high quality artists. The artwork displayed throughout the studio feels like walking into an art museum. My artist was Ken, he provided a really great experience. I wanted a traditional Japanese sleeve. Ken has really great artistry, he was able to freehand most of the sleeve and it looks incredible. The line work was really detailed and clean (even/consistent throughout). His technique with the linework and stippling was gentle, my tattoo healed really fast as a result. It took 4 sessions, and we finished the sleeve at the Baltimore tattoo convention which was a really cool experience. I felt he went out of his way to ensure I had a good experience with good conversation, sufficient breaks, and readjustments. I get a lot of compliments on my tattoo and plan to come back in the future.

Recently got my newest tattoo done by Rachael, and I absolutely love it! Her art is definitely top tier, and herThe time I spent with her while she tattooed away was awesome. Very personable and easy to be relaxed around. Her style of conversation and checking in made my time go by super fast.The line work is super clear, the coloring has a subtle beauty to it. I wouldnt change anything about it.I will definitely recommend this shop and artist to anyone looking for a new tattoo! 10/10

I was tattooed here recently and have every amazing thing to say about Blxck Label Collective and Rachael! The space is welcoming and aesthetic. Rachael was excited to work with the witchy/elemental/alchemical theme of what we wanted to do, and her artistry and vision was crucial for blossoming our ideas into exquisite wearable art. She was very calm and patient with me when I was having some difficulty with the pain, and she helped me to feel safe. Everything was perfect, and we are excited to work with her in the future!!

Diego “Spike” Orbegozo did amazing work on a cover up that many other artists would not touch. Couldn’t thank him enough. The office is clean and professional. Booking is done well in advance. Quality well worth the cost.

Absolutely recommend this tattoo shop, and specifically Rachael as an artist. I’ve been getting work done by Rachael for a year and a half and now have 10 tattoos done by her, one of which is a floral half sleeve. I absolutely love her work and know that I can come to her with an idea and ask her to put her creative spin on it and it always comes out better than I imagined! She is extremely talented, but also incredibly nice and easy to talk to. I always enjoy my sessions with her and would (and have) refer anyone her way. Can’t wait to go back to her for more!!

Sign at the bottom of the stairs says walk ins welcome, not so sure about that. Walked in one time a few years back, never greated despite hanging around for fifteen minutes and the same experience today. While it looks like the talent is there from some pics on the website, the customer service isnt. Your providing a service and expecting top dollar. While that may work with the younger generation some of us old heads prefer the whole package. Again, not a review on the work just the experience Ive had as a wall in.Edit: just the response I expected from this establishment, thanks for proving my point. Keep up the great work!

I got tattooed by Spike and he did an amazing on my arm piece. The design was awesome and he did a great job with it. The shop is clean and professional and the staff were all friendly. I would continue doing buisness with them and would recomemd them to everyone looking to get tattoed

First off I absolutely love the art work display in the shop. It’s like walking into a fine art gallery!I was very impressed with the manner I was taking care of.I had my appointment with Maria. She did nothing but create a comfortable and clean atmosphere. I really appreciate the attention to details as well as the interesting conversation. Took a lot of the pressure off of actually getting the tattoo. We all know tattoos hurt but it was nice having a distraction in that regard.Overall I am very pleased with everything for the work, shop atmosphere , and most importantly the cleanliness. I look forward to visiting the shop and working with Maria again. Excellent experience hands down.

The artists are always amazing. However, the front desk lady was extremely rude. I was waiting and she said to me “You are not getting a tattoo; I need you to get out of here”. I’ve gotten my previous tattoos at blacklabel here and I love the artists but today I was just disappointed. She slammed the door after I walked out too. I heard the other people yelling sorry but she was just so rude and blunt. All of my friends come here because I recommended as well. However, I don’t think the place will get any client if that lady is still in the front.I see that the owner responded to this review. Nobody told me about the policy of not allowing anyone in the studio. If anyone had told me politely I wouldn’t have written this post. Also, the owner shouldn’t lie about a customer yelling stupid and slamming door. I left without saying anything. I’m guessing the person who answered to my review is just defending themselves with false accusations instead of improving their service. Also, the artist that I got my tattoo at this shop no longer works at this shop. I only stated my respect for that artist not this place. And reading about how you stated “I didn’t see any comments on how thankful your boyfriend was about the tattoo” is lowkey disrespectful to hear from the owner. The person who replied to my comment must’ve wanted my boyfriend to thank them for disrespecting his girlfriend. And seeing how you talk about your customers in your public review just showed me how ghetto this place is. Thanks for nothing.

Inker, also known as Nefthaly did my piece and for 5 hours he’s accomplished a lot. He’s very detailed with his work always making sure if I’m okay and if we need to take a break. Very considerate and always coming up with ideas. Every artist in the facility is nice and considerate as well. So many customers and staff members were dying to see the progress and it made me feel good knowing everyone wanted to see the result. Will be going back soon!

Great shop with really nice people. Everyone I talked to was really welcoming. Rachel was my artist and is super cool and talented. She worked with me to make a custom piece out of a flash she had done for me earlier in the year and It turned out amazing. Her private studio space is also very comfortable and really well decorated. Great vibes all around.

I was referred to this shop by a friend and couldn’t be happier with the service and outcome of my tattoo. Everyone in the shoo was very polite and and welcoming! My artist was Josh and I appreciate his ability to be creative with the placement and design of an idea I had shown him. I’ll definitely book him again in the future!

Had the best time at Black Labels new location in Dulles Town Center! Ryu did the most amazing Japanese piece for me. Love this tattoo shop! Walking in the lobby looks like an art gallery. I worked with Rachel Nyx as my tattoo artist. Rachel listened to my specific needs for my tattoo placement and was able to come up with a design that blended perfectly with my existing tattoos. Definitely the place to go in the DMV for tattoos. I had the pleasure of working with Alex or inked_alex . He is an amazing artist that truly brought the design of my tattoo to life. Rachael drew up and tattooed my rib cage last year and to date it still looks as beautiful as the day she inked me. Rachael is an artist of many forms and has a wonderful, calming and intuitive demeanor. She carried on conversation with me when I needed the distraction and remained silent and concentrated when she sensed I needed silence for a zen moment. The aftercare routine was well explained and easy to perform. I couldnt be happier with the results and am planning another tattoo with her. Shes one to keep for a lifetime.

This was my first tattoo and it was an amazing experience! My mom and I got matching tattoos. The artist we went to was Alex and he was super kind. He did a good job of making us feel comfortable and was really quick with tattooing. Alex tattooed exactly what we wanted and it looks so great! He did an amazing job and I’m definitely planning on going to him again in the future to get another tattoo!

I usually don’t do this, but for the purpose of social awareness I would respectfully should say that if you want to get anything done plz avoid going to Josh. He will give you a terrible work and charge you twice as others. Not to mentioned, he likes to take his sweet a*** time(4-5breaks) for a small piece tattoo as suppose he just started tattooing. Spike I know you can do/be better than that my friend.

I hadnt had a tattoo done in over 10 years. When I had my last few done, every tattoo had a vibe I didnt quite like with male tattoo artists. I had decided Id wait until I found a female tattoo artist who had a softer approach.Then I got to have Rachael as my artist and I couldnt be more pleased. She listened so well, created something beautiful, placed it amazingly, didnt roll her eyes at doing a flower piece for me, AND has the lightest touch!I have no scarring or raised lines, no ink rejection, and it healed quicker than any other tattoo Id ever gotten.I recieve so many compliments on my tattoo and it makes me feel really beautiful.I will only be going back to Rachael and I look forward to many more tattoos.

I came into the shop today looking for a custom tattoo as a walk in. I was greeted by Alex on the phone who was kind and considerate regarding what I wanted to get done.He accommodated me to the best of his ability and offered me sound advice regarding my tattoo. He’s a straight shooter, expect him to be direct and honest with you. It may not be everyone’s style, but even if it’s not yours, I recommend being open to listening to what he has to say. He has great experience and knowledge that he is willing to share with you. He will also listen to what you have to say/ask and answer respectfully. He doesn’t cut corners and makes sure that you know what you are getting. I really appreciated this aspect of him as a tattoo artist.Beyond that, the tattoo he gave me is of undeniable quality, and I’m happy to have it on my body.Bonus points for his good sense of humor and his willingness to take me in as a walk in. I highly recommend Alex as an artist, and it seems that the business as a whole is a great establishment.Thanks Alex!

I’ve had original work and touchups done here. My artist was Ryu - he did an outstanding job! Ryu is a class artist and very talented at what he does. I am incredibly satisfied with his work!Moreover, the entire staff is very courteous and professional. I’ve been to a number of different tattoo shops throughout the country getting different work, and I hold this place in the highest regard!

Their staff is beyond welcoming, helpful, informative, and patient. The artist who masterfully worked on my piece is Alex who does Phenomenal work. The piece I had gone in to get is very sentimental to me. After I explained that to Alex he not only took the extra time to make sure that I would like the way it came out. I got this tattoo done by the shop owner Spike at the Cleveland Tattoo convention. Since the start Spike has been amazing and is a super nice guy, like we have known each other for years! His work is absolutely incredible, super detailed and he gave me exactly what I was looking for. I can’t thank you enough Spike - would recommend him and his shop to anyone looking to get tattooed. This shop is amazing! The whole studio is jammed packed with good vibes and talent! My Mom and I got matching tattoos from Rachael. She is apprenticing and just killing it! First, I do not leave reviews on anything, but this has to be shared, and hopefully, it reaches everyone else thinking about coming to this tattoo shop. The work is good, but that alone is not enough. You are interfacing with human beings, and I know we have lost our way of treating one another, but you could have done better. You would not come to this shop if you value yourself and have any shed of humanity. Im one of many that have a problem. Just the only one that is going to speak up about it. Just because you are good at something doesnt mean you can treat others however you want.

Hey! I recently received a tattoo May 2020 from an amazing Lettering King That goes by the name Spike!!! He is amazing and very creative. He made sure he work was far from the original photo i showed him of the tattoo i wanted. His work is so original and always different. I’ve seen most of his work and it never repeats itself. That’s the crazy amazing part! The place is very dope and vibe is crazy good. I enjoyed myself and hope to continue to be a client. You will not be disappointed 💯💯💯

I had two of my tattoos done by Rachael and they are my two most complimented tattoos. Not only were her designs and the inkwork exceptional, but she’s the very definition of a professional. Whether it’s your first tattoo or your fiftieth, you can’t get much better than Rachael.

I found Rachael on Instagram and started following her based off of her work. She was looking for clients that wanted to do floral. I had been deciding on a floral piece for my children and took that as a sign from the universe and direct messaged her. I explained what I wanted with approximate size and the two places I was considering for placement. She told me her hourly rate, which is pretty standard for the area, and asked me to pay a $100 deposit via Venmo before she would even discuss the tattoo with me. This should have been my first red flag as her policy is “No refunds, no exceptions.” I paid the deposit thinking everything would be fine. Anyway, I asked for a floral piece with my [two] children’s names and their birthdays in roman numerals incorporated, 4x6in with a $600 budget. She told me for all that I wanted, it would be hard to get it all in the size I was thinking and that I needed to cut things out or raise my budget because what she could do would be no less than 4hrs with it being more realistically 6hrs. Her hourly rate is $150 x 6 = $900. I asked to possibly make it smaller, which she said I would need to start cutting things out. At this point, I offered to come into the shop so that we could talk about my tattoo face to face, she could see where I was thinking about putting it, and we could discuss pricing, etc. She said it wasn’t necessary. I mean, my money was already down, so why wouldn’t she consult with me face to face? This was the second red flag that I ignored. When I asked about the tattoo again and reiterated my budget, she just said that the deposit comes off the total cost of the tattoo. We picked a date (June 12th!) for me to come in for my tattoo. I offered other alternatives such as just doing my kids first names instead of their first and middle names, which these messages were read and ignored. No thoughts or anything given, which I thought was pretty weird, especially when you’re designing something so meaningful to me and is going to be on my body permanently. I gave it much thought after a few days I reached out to let her know that I needed to cancel. I didn’t give her a reason for cancelling (shouldn’t have to, especially on March 31st for a tattoo that’s scheduled for June) though truly, I cancelled it because I just wasn’t comfortable and the red flags were flashing hardcore for me. I didn’t like her vibe and didn’t think we could work together to design something I loved within mybudget. I never received a response to my message cancelling, not an “Oh no, what happened?” “What made you change your mind” etc. She read it though, and I have yet to receive a refund on my deposit for an appointment that was scheduled and cancelled two months in advance. If she asked the reason and actually acted like she cared about a potential client, I would be honest about my reason for cancelling and would reconsider if she offered alternatives. Her not returning my deposit means she’s cashing out on me as she will fill my appointment with someone else and collect their deposit too, and anyone else who has to cancel in advance for their tattoo appointment. I would understand not returning my deposit if I cancelled last minute or no showed, but this is 2 months in advance. Come on now.As someone else who provides luxury services, this is extremely bad service and practices. Not only does it look poorly on Rachael, but looks poorly on Blxck Label Collective as her employer. First of all... they are amazing in there. Very professional and respectful staff. My tattoo artist is Rachael and she does amazing work. She is very kind and nice. Makes you feel super comfortable and keeps everything very clean. She always informs you of what she will be doing during your session with her. I recommend her to the world!!! What are yall waiting for ??? Make that appointment cause shes a gem!!!Thanks Rachael!!!!

My partner and I both made a last minute appointment for some tattoos and not only did Nef provide us with them but he helped my boyfriend amp up his design to be even better than he originally planned. First you will go on a journey that is like something out of tomb raider or Raiders of the lost Ark up steep stairs and through long halls. Then you will find this door with a glass panel with curtains and a logo that looks like a cross between a 1920s Detective agency and The most awesome ride that you’ll take at Disney World. And that’s just on your way in. Once inside it’s like no other tattoo shop but I’ve never been to. At first impression it reminded me of a Gothic pier one imports or one of those frame stores at the mall. It just had this class that made it unique. Like you’ll never have another experience like this ever again. All this before I actually got inked. The artists are all friendly and professional to both their clients and other customers. The owner is larger than life and loves what he’s created along with his artists. The way he carries himself around the shop visiting other clients and artists to make sure that his shop is the best in Northern Virginia clawing it’s way to the world stage. With almost a full torso full of tattoos on myself from around the country. I have never been to a shop this unique that truly stands on its own. It’s not a boutique shop, it’s not a street shop, and it’s not an appointment only the shop. From the presentation of the shop to the artists available to work with, you have an absolute TREASURE trove of options, professionals, and creativity to go with from taking your idea from just a thought to a full fledge piece of art. I urge you to work with Olivia, she is amazing at what she does and has years of experience. She is extremely humble and talented. I went with her for my sleeve because I knew I could trust her. She continues to blow my mind every time I came into the shop. I give her a simple concept and I let her handle the rest. No matter who you decide to work with, you will find talent here. Diego is an amazing artist and crazy talented! I finished my first session on my spine today and I couldn’t be any happier. This is my second time going to him because his work is just incredible and his ideas come out better than I can imagine. Only the first session and I admire his work so much already. He made the experience overall welcoming and was very professional.

Decided to go to this tattoo shop because of the good reviews. After going and getting such a simple tattoo, I cannot express enough how important it is to really do your research. After reaching out to the shop to express how my tattoo was coming along (ink peeling off and tattoo fading within 2 weeks) see timed stamped photos, they agreed that they would take care of it for me. After much back and forth with the shop owner, we agreed to a friday @ 6p where he would take care of it for me. Friday comes along and the shop owner is no where to be found. I reach out to some of the employees there about it and they have no idea what Im talking about. Long story short, one the employee says that there is nothing that can be done and that they would need to charge me an extra $50 to fix it. They told me that my tattoo is in a high fading spot... which I totally understand, as I currently have 4 other hand tattoos. None of which have faded for the 3+ years I have had them. Plain and simple is that the tattoo was done poorly, and instead of admitting it and fixing it they just wanted more $ for something that should have been done right the first time.Poor work: if the tattoo artist is inexperienced, it is possible they will not have done good work. Perhaps they have not penetrated deep enough, used too little ink or not gone over the area sufficiently. In these cases, the tattoo may start to peel a lot and ink comes off. This is one of the many reasons you need to go to a trusted tattoo artist, even if it costs you more money initially.

Its a great shop, all the artist have such an awesome and positive vibe. Lots of talent and laughs, Ken is my artist. Hes this piece and its turning out amazing

I have been coming here for the past few years and will never take my business elsewhere! Spike has done both of my sleeves and lettering across my chest and every piece is incredible! All the other artist seem incredible as well and just a great atmosphere in the shop, i would highly recommend to anybody

Ken does all of my water color tattoos he is amazing. I went to him a couple of years ago for a cover up and was more than impressed with his work. I have since got two more tattoos done by him and they turned out way better than I could’ve ever expected. You give him an idea, let him do his thing and he works wonders. Very creative eye! I will never go to anyone else for my tattoos. Very fairly priced and the shop is awesome.

Let me start off by saying the work and ambiance provided by the shop and staff are unparalleled to any other. I found my artist Maria on Instagram through the shop and was truly impressed by her work. Looking at her work I immediately knew that this is who I wanted to be doing my art.I reached out to Maria on Instagram and she responded in a timely and professional manner. After some back and forth we scheduled a consult for a piece that we have planned for the coming future. During my consult she showed me some of her work and I asked if we could do a flash piece on the spot, and without hesitation Maria was in. After the session was done I told her that if she had any designs that she thought I would like, to reach out to me. That’s when Maria reached out to me about the piece below. She sent it over and I loved it so we scheduled the date to get it done.Finally the day was here to bring Maria’s design to the canvas. Unlike other forms of art tattooing is a truly unique form of art because your canvas gives you active feedback. That being said Maria was more than professional she was delicate in every movement she made and was constantly checking in making sure I was ok during the session. The space was clean, sterile, and comfortable.I already have my next sessions booked and will most definitely have more in the future. If you are looking for a place to get your art done this is the spot. I would most definitely recommend Maria.

Don’t come here for piercings. It’s really unprofessional. The girl is nice, but she does not explain anything including pricing. It gives amateur. The piercer dropped the part of the nose ring that secures the piercing and had her finger holding the other piece in my nostril for about 10 minutes. It was the most painful nose piercing I have ever had (not my first nose piercing). Go anywhere else for piercings. Overpriced, lack of jewelry variety in size and style. Another thing, my ring fell out two days after getting the piercing done — low quality screw on piercing. I called and asked for a call back to reinsert the piercing. No one called back and they didn’t even bother to ask for my name. I went elsewhere that sold better and cheaper jewelry. Save your money and go elsewhere for a properly/professionally done piercing.Edit: when I called first to have the piercing done, I was very kind and spoke to someone else. I came in for my first ever visit and was blindly serviced. I feigned happiness over the poorly done piercing because that’s what most people do. I did not predict the piercing falling out. Of course I was happy with my piercing. The process was not ideal for any so called professional, but okay. When I called upset about my ring falling out, you would think they would actually do what they said and call me back. Thanks for exposing your condescending attitude with the response from management. I was not rude. You don’t know how to work with people who are upset with your services. I paid a lot of money for something that obviously was not done well. Lastly this is about the PIERCING service. I did not treat anyone like a servant. You are obligated to help clients when things go wrong no matter how you perceive their attitude. Like I said: unprofessional. Attacking me back is tacky. Doubt y’all will learn anything from this. Glad I went elsewhere after all.

First the shop itself is welcoming and decorated nicely. I had my fist session with nina and came out extremley pleased. Not only is she a talented artist but is super detailed in her work. Nina was also welcoming ,friendly and open as we talked about many topics through the day. I have 4 more dates left with her and cant see it being anything else.I did not interact with the other artist much but a few came in during the day and were friendly enough. The one piece i did see was done extremely well. I would 100.percent recomend this shop.I

Spike the owner was able to recommend me to an artist Nef (Inker) that works there. I went in a couple hours later with a picture of a piece Ive been wanting for a while. Nef took his time and patience because let me tell you it was extremely detailed.
