Garys Professional Tattooing

Unprofessional from the time I walked into the shop. They did not want to do the tattoo. Attitude was very poor. My tattoo will scar now. He made sure of that by going over it again and again and again. Highly NOT recommend this place to anyone. The shop was also in need of a cleaning.

DO NOT GO HERE!! Gary has a horrible attitude. The girl doing piercings was trying to change the printer for the other tattoo artist and they argued the whole 10 minutes we were waiting. Gary came out to us and rudely said ‘what are we doing girls?’ And by then we walked out. No owner should treat employees or guests the way he does.

Gary was a legend. Did my Eagles Tattoo and it looks amazing. He managed to fit me in *on* my birthday and do it in less than 3 hours. I told him what we wanted and he told me what he was going to do, and was very straightforward and told me what he was able to do. Thank you once again to Gary and Syd, you two were a class act! I had a blast meeting you both and cant wait to do the other arm soon with a Star Wars tat.

Totally enjoyed the experience. They were respectful and helpful finding the right design for us. Not only did Dejai do fantastic work but it was really a great price for what he did. To top that off the conversation with Gary and Dejai was fun and interesting. I will most definitely be returning for more great tattoos.

They are amazing tattoo artists!.I have done 3 tattoos there and i am extremely happy with them .Garys is amazing and Zen is also the best they make you feel so welcoming.If you want a great tattoo come here !!!

Dj was awful, gave me a tattoo with lines that don’t connect and was rude the entire time doing it. made me feel so uncomfortable that i was literally too scared of him to even complain. stay away from this place if you can.

Gary has excellent technique as a tattoo artist and many years of experience that go into his making beautiful tattoo work. Hes doing cover-ups for me of tear tattoo and some scars that I didnt want to look at any more. now I see a beautiful mum and Lotus Flower as well as cherry blossoms on my arm and no more ugly tattoo or scars. he is careful to do the work and stages allowing your skin time to heal completely before he does the next thing. I have very sensitive skin but I have not had problems at all following Garys work.I have also observed his colleague Zens tattoo work and she appears to be quite competent as well. She is also excellent at doing piercings which I watched her do several of during my last tattoo sitting.obviously the tattoo youre looking at is not finished. I need to get the cherry blossoms filled in yet and do a little more cover work. But hes done a fantastic job thus far!

Gary and Zen were so welcoming and professional! Zen answered all of my questions and talked me through my design concerns! She took her time on my tattoo and the results were just what I was hoping for!! Clear aftercare instructions were given! Great service overall. I would not hesitate to recommend Gary’s to my friends!

My wife and I were in Galena for 4 days in July. When we walked past Garys we thought about getting a tattoo right then! We did go in, met Gary and Ashley, the artists. and saw examples of their very good work! We went back on Thursday and got matching tattoos (maori tribal tattoos) that look absolutely marvelous. The shop had many awards and ribbons from many different tattoo events they had competed in and they are great folks. If you are in the area and contemplating a tattoo stop in; you will not be disappointed!

Dj is a great artist and Gary responds quick on Facebook messenger! Got two smaller tattoos today and had zero pain! Overall highly recommend!! They know their stuff! I live in the Chicagoland area and they got me in within less than a week! Worth the trip! Thank you so much I am so happy with the results!!

While on a girls trip we decided to get matching tattoos. Needlessly to say, 2 weeks later & its almost gone. Its like he used magic erase ink. Definitely will NOT go back & will NOT recommend them.

I think DJ did an amazing job with my tattoo. I went in with an idea and a poor quality picture and he was able to create something terrific. I am very pleased with how my tattoo turned out. He took his time, paid attention to detail and was very pleasant to work with. I will go back again.

I got my first tatttoo at Garys Professional Tattooing just this last week and I LOVE. IT. Gary did an amazing job, especially with the coloring and shading, as my tattoo included different colors. I am so pleased with the work that was done, and I enjoyed getting to know the staff that work there. Its a great place to go, I HIGHLY recommend it!

We came here recently and my friend needed a new earring. She paid for it and went to the back to have it put in. Afterwards we went to the front and the owner yelled “are you going to tip her?!?!” Very loud and very embarrassing!!! I went back and gave her $20. I’m a business owner myself and would never EVER yell that to my customers. We won’t be back after this bad experience. You can’t talk to customers like that.

DeJai did my wrist tattoo last weekend and it is exactly what I wanted Everyone was super friendly and made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. DeJai did an amazing job with the artwork and the tattoo hardly hurt at all. The facility is very clean and they go over their safety procedures before they even touch you. I would recommend going here to anyone that I know.

Absolutely love Garys been going there for 15 years wont go anywhere else I bring all my friends and family whenever they need ink or piercings. The staff is great Gary is awesome very clean, sterile equipment, great time highly recommended them for your tattoos and piercings

Gary did my first Tattoo, ( the big guys goin down) been back 2 other times and all my family members have have also, Gary does great work himself and always seems to find top Notch artisits. Highly recommend.

Gary is the stuff. Not over priced in my book at all very very very good at what he does got my first one Saturday he took care of me well. I come from Aurora IL 2.5 hours away from him. Inwill not go to anyone else best in IL. Thanks Gar . Your buddy Brian

DO NOT GET YOUR PIERCINGS HERE!!! After months and months of trying to get my piercing to heal. I finally decided to go to a piercer in my area and have it looked at. The piercer said that it was pierced COMPLETELY WRONG, with very junky quality jewelry and at an angle. He said because of the lousy job they did, IT WOULD NEVER HEAL and he recommended that I take it out before I caused permanent scarring and damage to my nose. What a waist of money! They really should have to give me my money back.And before they can say its something that I was doing wrong... Ive since then gotten my nose repierced and have had zero issues with it !! ZERO! This place deserves to have less than one star in my book!

My friend and I went in to get tattoos and I was not please. Would not give us an estimate on price until after the tattoo was done so that way we were forced to pay his ridiculous price. The person who tattoo us wasn’t very pleasant and was bossy. He also forgot to fill in my friend’s tattoo with color like we asked and still overcharged us. I would not recommend going here unless you want poor service and a high price. 0/10.

Ashley was fantastic!!! So kind, honest and made our memorable day doing tattoos in memories of lost loved ones so special.

Love my new Owl tattoo...done by DJ and my piercings were done by Gary...excellent job, 20+ years experience, and did a better job than I ever would have expected. Going back Sunday for another tattoo!!!

DEjai was the sweetest tattoo artist, he was really easy to talk to you I felt really comfortable it was my first time getting colour and shading I’ve never been more happy with a tattoo before.

The guy actually hung up on me. Called a competitor Emerald Budda great customer service and booked a appointment. Absolutely zero time for negative people. Dont run a business if you hang up on people advice for 22👍

Gary rocks, did my wifes and my tats to remember our daughter who was killed in a car accident. He nailed her portrait on me and gave my wife a beautiful floral tat. Thanks gary we will be back

I called on september 25th was told by a gentleman that close to 130 on the 26th i could bring my niece for ear piercing get there at 138 today and was told sorry cant do it booked all day even though i tried to make an appointment the night before and was told i didnt need an appointment #notimpressed thats all my niece wanted for her birthday!!!!!! And the lady at the counter was snippy saying you should have made an appointment

I recently got my first tattoo here, great place very professional, great price, and I love the tattoo, will definitely be back.

A side of them being somewhat expensive I very much enjoy going to tattoo parlors and seeing their artwork and some of their artwork was really amazing I will definitely definitely keep them in mind one bit of advise maybe some gender-neutral bathrooms could seriously help and perhaps maybe a bit more if you dont know someones preferred pronouns ask them so on and so forth Im not going to go on about it but there you go
