Im not going to write to much, the pictures will tell my story. My Yankees Tattoo came out great and is the reason I returned to Shawn. This time I wanted a NY Rangers Tattoo. I arrived to my appointment, waited 45 min until I was told he was not feeling well. I called and made another appointment and was told he would give me a discount that I didnt ask for from what happened last time. The day I came back I felt the entire process was rushed and I felt he didnt really want to do this tattoo. We did a second touchup, but didnt help. Check out the pictures. Im embarrassed by this tattoo.

Amazing experience. They didnt have an opening for the time period I needed. A friend was only here for a few days and one of the owners (pete) stayed after hours just to accommodate us. His skill and precision is beyond words. My tattoo is perfect, came out better than I imagined. I cant wait to get more work done. Ty silk city

Had the best experience today at Sulk City Tattos! Pete did such a beautiful job bringing to life how I wished to honor my mother’s passing. Very talented guy with lots of experience and very easy to talk to, so much so that it made the time pass by so easily and unexpectedly. Hands down I’ll be back for more. Thanks Pete, your shop rocks and your staff was excellent and very friendly. Also shop was clean as could be. Thanks again for making my dream a reality!

Had work done here recently. My appointment was set up and facilitated by Mike, while Shawn worked out my custom design and did the work. Incredibly friendly people, Shawn did an amazing job, the piece came out fantastic, and the music in the studio was on point. I will definitely be returning for the next one.

I havent had a tattoo guy in quite a while. I have been to silk city for a couple pieces but never settled into one chair.After a brief marathon Tattoo Spree... 1 of them being a Birthday Celebration Piece, the other being matching tattoos with two of my friends, via rapid planning... Pete was so accommodating and just all around comfortable to be tattooed by, and talk to. Which is always a plus when someone is drilling art into your skin.I can let the art speak for itself in the photos. I hope my review speaks for itself. I was looking for a new tattoo artist & was given a recommendation to check out Silk City. I met Pete for a consultation. He listened to what I wanted, my thoughts & hes great to work with. Today was great!! I love his work. I made an appointment for my next on the spot.

Tried to work with artist Ryan in March of this year, he repeatedly missed out scheduled phone consults, and usually several days later he would cite family issues, which I can understand, but I was never actually told about it and usually only found out a day or so after we were supposed to talk, when I asked him if everything was okay. Was able to talk about the design in late April, and he told me he would work on sketches. Come June, he told me he hadn’t started the design. Come August 11th, I asked if he had any updates as I was running low on hope, he saw my message and hasn’t responded since. Would not recommend working with him. My wife also got a tattoo from a different artist here and wasn’t thrilled with the results. What a shame.

Silk City Tattoo is hands down the best shop around. Whether it is a 1st tattoo or a 50th tattoo, they know how to get the job done. As soon as you walk in the door you are always greeted with a warm welcome and a dedication by the staff to help you feel heard, understood, and valued. Furthermore, each artist, whether it is Shawn, Pete, Ruler, Ryan, Lilly, etc., offers a different unique artistic outlook. That being said, they will work with you together to find which artist fits your style, as well as attempting to fulfill the vision that you see for your tattoo. Thus, they are not only insanely talented, but are also professional, caring, empathetic, cleanly, and charismatic all in the same breath. All in all, I have nothing bad to say about Silk City Tattoo. I have been going to the shop for close to 6 years and do not plan on going anywhere else. Lastly, if you dont believe me, just go in and see for yourself.. and remember I told you so.

My experience at SC was great. Peter John was able to make my desired tattoo a reality. We used my cats ashes to create a beautiful tribute to my beloved boy. Highly recommend his work and this shop in general. They have stood the test of time.

Ive always had one artist that worked on my pieces and as someone from California, coming out to NJ to get a tattoo. I now have two artists. Some of the best work Ive seen and had done on me. Pete, the owner, has earned my whole right arm. I look forward to my next sessions.

I just went for my second tattoo here. Pete was my artist and was great to work with. He did an awesome job. Very detailed and took his time going over exactly what I wanted. Shop is clean as well. Highly recommended if you are looking to get a tattoo.

My mother and I got cute matching Monstera tattoos at Silk City Tattoo. Vinny was super helpful with designing the tattoo and making sure it matched what we were looking for! He did the consultation over Instagram so we only had to schedule the tattoo appointment. Vinny was so friendly and we love how our tattoos turned out! The facilities were nice at Silk City and we felt very comfortable.

Got my first tattoo done here when I was 18 by Shawn. 9 years later, I still come to Shawn to get my tattoos. Staff is friendly and the place is clean!! Artwork is always impeccable!

I went to this tattoo shop a few weeks ago because I was finally ready to get my first 2 tattoos, the place looks amazing!🔥at first I didnt know what exactly I wanted but then I met and talked with Pete who is a chill dude with awesome music taste 😎 and he helped me to figure out how I wanted my tats to look likeHe made sure it was exactly how I wanted + suited my style and I love my tats! 10/10 experience and I cant wait to go back for another tattoo soon, Pete is my go to tattoo artist rn 😎

Just went for a second tattoo there. Sean did my first and Vinny did my second. Highly recommend both of them. They spend the time with you to make sure you’re getting exactly what you want, and your design will hold up over time. This is so important when getting something that lasts a lifetime! Everything was explained completely and clearly, looking forward to a return visit.

I went in there a couple days ago to get a tattoo for my grandpa that past away. Vinny did my tattoo and make me comfortable as it was my first tattoo. Place was very clean. I definitely recommend this place. My tattoo came out absolutely beautiful and I couldn’t have asked for anything better.

I have taken two friends here and to the other Hawthorne body mod shop, Pleasurable Piercings. I have also used them myself.Silk City has an amazing stable of artists who do everything from vibrant, new and unusual tattoos to simple restorations that will make an old tattoo pop. The work of Pete and Ruler is professional and creative. Pete restored an older, dull and faded tattoo that was dull lackluster black on a deeply dark background. He made the old work almost shine like new and then added a touch of color that made it look better than the original.Ruler was able to take a tattoo that was never finished by another artist and make it his own work. He added flair and accents to modify the existing lines. Then he added a whole new element to enlarge the piece and give it a direction and thrust that made it his work.This is a well run and professional salon where the ancient art of tattooing is practiced with care, attention to detail, and creativity. The clients walk away knowing they have something special on their body, a true expression of the clients self expression and the artists skill in revealing the connection between body and art.Silk City is a place where art is created.

Came to get a tattoo that I’ve been wanting for 4 years but didn’t know where to go until a friend recommended me tus shop. I was very impressed not only Shawn and his staff was pleasant but he did an awesome job on my tattoo. Very professional and his work is amazing.

Last week I had my Florida Gator Tattoo redone by Shawn. The facility was clean and very organized. I could not be happier with the results. I would recommend Silk City for anyone looking for a tattoo

Had a great experience with Shawn Dillon. I gave him a detailed picture of the tattoo that I wanted. He gave me exactly what I asked for. The perfect tattoo in a comfortable quick timeframe. Couldnt ask for anything more than that. Would highly recommend him for color inspired tattoos.

I had an appointment with Peter today and he did a wonderful job. He took my idea for a piece I wanted to do for my dad and he made it into an original. Truly a great artist. Silk City Tattoo I would highly recommend, everyone was friendly.

Overall, a very good and friendly place to go. Aside from the lack of variety (specialization of art styles by the staff), this is the place Ive gotten my first tattoo at, and even when calling about an issue having with another one, they werent hesitant in helping! Also, they are very generous in their free touch-ups, definitely appreciated in comparison to most places nowadays.

Just completed full sleeves at Silk City Tattoo. Christian is a expert at what he does. I get so many compliments on my Tattoos. The color is so vibrant and the Tattoos are so realistic. Ive known Christian for twelve years hes a great guy. All the guys at silk City are great artists and nice people. I really love this place and wouldnt go anywhere else.

Silk City Tattoo Inc (located in Hawthorne, NJ) is a fantastic tattoo parlor filled with very talented artists in a great atmosphere. If you have questions, are looking for advice on your next tattoo or ask to have something drawn up, the artists are happy to do so. Walk-ins are also available. Ive gone to the parlor on multiple occasions and always had a great experience with informed and generous artists. During one of my sessions I was asked what my favorite music was and the artist played it during my session as well. In my experiences the artists also engage in friendly conversations during the sessions as well as offer you the opportunity for a smoke break if youre a smoker. Ive had tattoos done by Shawn Dillon, Dan Kennedy and Christian Masot and couldnt be happier. Theyre reasonably priced and very skilled. Id be glad to return for more tattoos!

Christian Masot was an absolute joy to be around. He gave me and my wife our first tattoos and were so glad he was the one that did it for us. He has a really cool vibe and you can tell that he loves his job, clients, and most importantly, his staff. He is an amazing artist and I couldnt be happier with our tattoos. Kyle is also an awesome dude. Everyone has a very genuine and relaxed vibe which is important to me. Kyle worked with us to get our appointment and answered any questions we have. Also, looking at the work of other artists there, everyone is top notch, not a single weak link. I wish this shop and its owner Christian, nothing but the best and they have just gained two clients for life. I will refer everyone here.Thanks again!!

Great artists and great shop! I went in to do the upper arm of a sleeve (I already had the forearm done from years prior at a different shop). I was directed to Ruler who was able to take some of my ideas and turn it into an amazing design. It came out better than I could have hoped and he was even able to seamlessly blend it with my pre-existing tattoo. Awesome experience from beginning to end, would highly recommend the shop and Ruler specifically.

Christian Lucca was my artist for my first tattoo and he did a great job. The whole thing took about 7 hours and we decided to get it done in one shift. He stayed focused through out the entirety and made me feel comfortable since I had no idea what to expect. I have been in contact with him and will for sure use him for future pieces

Got my first tattoo here about a month ago. The place is a decent size and really nice and clean inside. I got large, unique lettering done on my calf. I was tattooed by Mickey who is an awesome artist and awesome guy. Minimal pain. I had a great first tattoo experience and I will absolutely be back here.

About a decade ago I got 3 tattoos here all within a month and I brought 2 friends here for their first ink. We were all very pleased, it was decently priced, clean work, and nice crew that are easy to work with. I intend on taking another trip over as soon as I have some free time for a cover up of a scared tattoo from another shop.

Christian Lucca is an amazing artist and he does an amazing job not only tattooing but making his costumers feel comfortable. Probably one of the if not the best artist in the new jersey area. HIGHLY recommend anybody looking to get a sick tattoo of any style to hit up Silk City. Super clean shop and awesome people!!

Had my very first tattoo done by Mickey Dee two years ago for my birthday and it was an amazing experience. He was very friendly and he is crazy talented, going back next month for my second and third tattoo.

I had a appointment at 2 didn’t nt show up and they told me another 20 minutes after i already waited 40 minutes. Not professional don’t go to ruler. My uncle recommended me here i will never go back, the girl had the nerve to ask me to reschedule after i drove a hour to get here
