Mimik Tattoo

Love Mimik! I drive a little over an hour to go here. Michael and Kylie are the two artists Ive gone to. I love them and their art! (Michael did the colored worm pictured. Kylie, the blackwork and lettering). The shop is on the second floor of an outlet mall like complex. Windows for days in a very spacious, colorful area! Its nice not to feel closed in. Super clean! Plenty of parking. Appointment only. Have to place a deposit (understandable) that DOES go towards your tattoo. Good prices for amazing work!

I have been tattooed by Cat and Derek several times and spoken to many of the artists including the owner Nuke. Everybody there is wonderful and the shop itself is so nice. If you are looking for a tattoo don’t hesitate for a second to check out Mimik! Also, Cat is a wonderful and sweet person and has done a bunch of work on me and my wife and I would recommend her to anyone!

Came for my first tattoo here with my wife so we could get anniversary tattoos. She’s got 5, (well, 6 now) but I was a tattoo virgin. Rat was our artist, he explained everything to me as it was my first time, checked in constantly with me, made me comfortable and made the entire experience enjoyable as hell. So enjoyable we started a leg sleeve a month later! Rat as a person and artist, I can’t say enough nice things about but at Mimik this place is great. Everyone is super nice, the environment is awesome. I’ll be back and continue coming back for future work to have done.

Derek is the man! they have a ton of artist but he kills it! i have gotten several big large pieces from him! they have a ton of great artist. I got my chest done by Cody and it was great experience. If you want big bold color I could not recommend coming here more.

I had the best experience! Everyone who was there was so nice and welcoming and my artist, Alex, was amazing. From working with me for the design to the final tattoo, I couldn’t be happier. She absolutely went above and beyond and I’m so in love with my new ink. Infinite stars. 13/10 recommend 🫶🏼

Absolutely love Mimik! I recently got a few pieces done by Stabby, aka Alex, aka @stabbyLx. Like others, Ill confirm that shes an absolute blast to sit for. She checks in with you and tries to make the process as comfortable and easy as possible. I have a total of 5 tattoos from her (more coming) and she absolutely nails the design every time. Shes so talented, creative, and nice. 10/10 experience, you should bring her snacks.The shop itself is clean and welcoming, with multiple artists taking the time to come check on what others are working on. It was really interesting to see such a collaborative environment! All of the artists here are incredibly talented.

Kylie was my wonderful tattoo artist, and she was incredible. I was very trepidatious for multiple reasons including this being my first tattoo. Kylie helped make this an amazingly positive experience which has already prompted me to start planning my next tattoo with her. I would recommend this shop and this artist to everyone and plan on doing so.

I had an incomplete idea for a special tattoo and Stabby not only helped me complete the design, but she did an incredible job on the tattoo itself. She was super friendly and funny and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire tattooing process. Im about four weeks out from my tattoo appointment with Kayla Ann(@pinkpeach.tattoo)!I have no doubts that I will be booking with Kayla again for my next tattoo!My experience with Mimmik was nothing short of wonderful. This was my first tattoo, so going into the appointment I was a bit nervous. Kaylas friendliness, and the professional atmosphere of the studio itself melted any nerves I originally had and I was able to have a great experience. To begin, my artist offered valuable advice on tattoo placement as I was a bit torn between two locations. I was checked in on multiple times throughout my session (about 7 hours) and not once did I feel pressured to continue. We also took many breaks which no doubt helped me get through. After the tattoo I was given aftercare instructions. Kayla also allowed me to reach out online with any questions I might have later, which I am super thankful for! This character is super special to me and I’m so excited to have her on me. Kaylas art style totally brought her to life and I am so happy. Amazing work! I went to see Alex and shes super accommodating, taking frequent breaks wherever needed. she wasnt super familiar with the game i wanted a design for (as its a little niche) and she took the time to learn about it and adjust the design as needed, which a lot of artists dont do. the result was this super epic tatt that i couldnt be more happy with! the shop itself was very clean and everyone else was very friendly.

Thank you Mimik for such a great experience! Me and my best friend went to get matching tattoos, and we couldnt be happier with how they turned out. Our artist Stabby was sweet and did an amazing job, and every other artist we got to speak with was just as nice! Highly recommend⭐!

I recently got my first tattoo at Mimik with Alex and it was a wonderful experience! She was so thoughtful and attentive to detail in bringing the image I had in my head to life and I absolutely love the final result. Her other work @stabbylx on Instagram is fantastic too and you should check it out!The facility itself has a fun atmosphere and also well organized so I felt like I was in great hands at every step. I’ve gotten multiple tattoos done at this shop by Cody and Alex and both were phenomenal! The service from start to finish was a 10/10. My ideas were perfectly portrayed in their stencil. Couldn’t be happier with the tattoos I’ve gotten by Alex and Cody!

I drove from Indiana to get a tattoo here, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Donnie does amazing anime and Pokémon stuff, and he absolutely came through for me! I really love my tattoo, and I was so glad I made the trip. He was also really easy to work with before/during the session. I’ve followed some of the other artists who work there on Instagram too, and it’s crazy seeing so much high quality work come out of a single shop. If you’re thinking about checking them out, do it!

From the very beginning, to the very end, we had such an excellent experience with Mimik Tattoo and Stabbylx! My husband and I reached out to Alex because we loved her style and she was so quick to respond and work with us on our tattoo designs. She designed two incredible pieces and we traveled from Ohio to get them done. While we were at the shop, Alex was so welcoming and took such great care to make sure that our designs were perfectly placed and she tattooed with such a light hand! Not only that, but she was so easy to talk to and such a wonderful, genuine person. Without a doubt, I would recommend Stabby and Mimik tattoo to anyone! We will definitely be back!

What a wonderful experience. I got my first tattoo with this company today and from the get go I felt welcome. I was looking forward to it because I saw the quality of work online but I can not overstate enough how easy the process was from start to finish and how welcomed everyone made me feel. All the artists here are very talented but Cat is my absolute favorite. Shes insanely talented and her dedication to the art of tattooing is outstanding. Ive already had her do two of my tattoos but I cant wait for more!

VNA was fantastic! She was patient with letting me pick out my jewelry for my piercing and made sure i was comfortable. The building was very clean, and I loved the style of the place as well. Huge fan of this shop! I will deffinatly be back

Mimik is always such an awesome experience!Went up there today to sit with a friend as he had an appointment.They talk walk-ins and so it worked out that I was able to get some work done as well!Stabby was my artist for and I couldn’t have been happier with the outcome!I had a spur of the moment idea and she brought it to life! She was very kind and super sweet the entire time! I highly recommend this tattoo studio. I specifically made an appointment with Alex, who is my tattoo artist while she lived in Miami and now in Charlotte. She is amazing, professional, talented, kind, budget friendly, and just overall a wonderful artist. I feel safe and comfortable with her and she always takes the ideas I have for a tattoo and makes it ten times better than I ever could have imagined! So don’t waste time and book an appointment with her. As someone who just got their 8th tattoo from her, I promise you won’t regret it 😊

I’ve been going to Vault/Mimik since 12/2022, all my 13 tattoos have been with the amazing and talented Cat. If you’re into spooky, bones, bugs, occult, floral, and weirdness- Cat’s your person! Everyone at the shop is encouraging and welcoming. Highly recommend this shop 🤠 there’s a $150 booking fee to get your appointment scheduled with the artist(might vary from artist to artist) - but again, always make sure to talk with your chosen artist about price and sizing and placement because communication is important with something permanent going on your body.

Mimik Tattoo has amazing people working here! I’ve been tattooed by cat and donnie and they’re both great and always made sure I was comfortable. I’m always asked if I needed anything to drink or anything to make me more comfortable during my tattoo and of course my tattoos turned out amazing!! Also seeing how the other artists interact with each other always makes me laugh or smile, amazing tattoo shop!!

I’ve been tattooed by Kylie before and she did amazing! She communicated great and told me what to expect as this was my first big tattoo. I was NOT an easy canvas (needed many breaks and definitely moved a bit) and she made me feel so comfortable during it and was so friendly. Highly recommend her!

Made the 3 hour drive from Charleston and I’d do it again 10 times over. They made the entire tattoo process from start to finish incredibly seamless. Derek was a phenomenal artist who went above and beyond with my tattoo design and I will 1000% be returning for another!

I went to get my first tattoo ever at Mimik. I was very nervous but I have to say from the moment I entered their facility until the end my tattoo my experience was awesome. Rat, the artist who took care of me was amazing. He made me feel super comfortable, was meticulous in his craft and the end result was awesome. Their studio is really cool and the whole staff was great. Overall, this was a great experience.

Had a session with @stabbylx and it couldnt have gone better. The conversations leading up to appointment day were helpful and she was super accommodating to the ideas I had. The work took about seven hours, and besides needing a few stretch breaks the whole session was cool. Nothing ever became overly painful or uncomfortable.Alex is great. The work is awesome. I’ve been looking for an artist to help me bring my partial the arcana tattoo to life. I wanted vibrant colors and someone who I could trust could do the job! I’ll drive and pay good money for a tattoo that’ll last and is done right . Drove from Louisville, About an 8 hour drive and I was not disappointed at all. The people were amazing and so friendly, the shop was clean and the atmosphere was incredible. Caitlyn was so bubbly and amazing to work with. The vibe is on point- beautiful shop and awesome artists. I saw Michael Harkins save a whole family of cats from a wild pack of coyotes. Never seen such beautiful self defense work with a tattoo gun in my life. They still call him the hero of Oakachobee and they say if you call upon his spirit he’ll deliver unto you a most righteous tattoo.Addendum: I love all the tattoos I’ve gotten from Michael I’ve been going to him for years and will continue to long in the future until one of us beefs it.ADDENDUM 2: I am bound by honor and duty to tell the legend of Mel, apprentice of Michael. Legend has foretold the looming specter of death and destruction will be carried across the planet when the prophecy is fulfilled. But that won’t be for a while, so until then definitely get a tattoo from her, her chrome work is tight and she does great line work

I was able to come visit mimik in December of last year and it was such an amazing experience ! I got tattooed by DK and let me just say he’s one of the nicest and most genuine human I’ve ever come across and I cannot wait to continue to work with him ! Shop was extremely clean and all other artists were very nice as well ! I’ve included a photo of my tattoo about 4 months healed ! ❤️❤️

He knocked out my Gohan Beast tattoo out of the park and I’ve kept on getting compliments on it. The entire shop was super welcoming and all the artists were super down to earth. Ive only ever had positive experiences here. The artists are all extremely cool and do amazing work. Im a little biased towards my artist, Rat. But genuinely theyre all fantastic. The shop is always clean and has great vibes. 10/10.

My boyfriend and I had somewhat of a troublesome time with an event that Mimik was part of. Despite that, we were able to work with the receptionist and artist, Rat, getting scheduled to come in and they worked with us on the pricing. The staff there are super friendly, the vibe is super inclusive and they’re so talented!! (look at the insta’s).Also, Rat is such a great person!! Definitely get them if you have any D&D, pokemon, anime, Rocky Horror, Avatar the Last Airbender, or other fandoms!I’ll attach pictures once our tattoos heal from our bandages!

I had an amazing experience and will definitely be coming back to work with Rat again. He was incredibly welcoming and he achieved exactly what I was looking for. I couldnt have asked for anything better or more precise to what I had in mind. As it was only my second tattoo, I was incredibly nervous after the first experience I had (different shop, different artist) but he made me feel super comfortable, at home, and made sure I was good the entire appointment. Genuinely super grateful for Rat and happy with my experience at Mimik as a whole.

First I would like to say the shop is one of the best tattoo shops I’ve ever been to. When you walk into the shop you can feel all the positive energy. Everyone seems so nice. I love how bright it is. Next I want to give a shout out to my tattoo artist Caitlyn. Not only is she super talented but she such an amazing person. Meeting her she made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. She is super easy to talk to about anything with. Caitlin has already done two tattoos of mine that come from a very special place. I already have two more appointments with her and I will continue to go to her. Her style and work is amazing. She IS amazing. Not only do I consider her my tattoo artist but a good friend who just causes some pain with her tattoo pen.

My wife and I have used multiple artists between Vault and Mimik tattoo. There is not a single bad artist in either of these shops. They have nothing but the most talented artists, with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.They have an aftercare product that they sell for $20. Itll last you through several tattoos, I 110% recommend it! It has helped keep my tattoo moist and safe, and made sure it healed flawlessly.

My experience with Cody was great. The tattoo i received is nothing short of phenomenal! The shop was welcoming and experienced some good laughs. Laid back, and chill environment. 100% recommend this shop and of course BOOK WITH CODY!

Amazing atmosphere, i got my first tattoo with cat at vault tattoo and followed her over to mimik. iv always had a great experience here and have been treated with nothing but kindness by all the staff. easy booking with individual artist via instagram. always a proper greeting apon arrival at the front desk. and deposit and payments are quick and easy to understand. i love mimik and all they have done for me and will continue to go here for as long as they are open :) super proffessional and clean environment!

Everyone in this shop is such a great person. Regardless of if they’re your artist or not, everyone is so kind and engaging. I’ve had a couple tattoos done here (by AJ, @viewfromthisguy and Kylie, @babybluegotblues) and I can’t decide whether the art or the people were the best part of the experience. I drive all the way from VA, and I find myself constantly looking for reasons to be close enough to make getting a new tattoo reasonable. 😂 Amazing artists doing amazing work. Can’t wait to go back!

Mimik was one everything I hoped it would be. The booking process was super easy and they reach out to you to confirm everything super quickly. I remember I had a ton of questions and they answered every single one. In person - there were great vibes from everyone - from checking in to meeting your tattoo artist, everyone greets you with a smile. Donnie my tattoo artist nailed my tattoo and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire appointment. My tattoo took about 4-5 hours but during that time we take breaks and I was even offered water and snacks. I hope they stay there and continue to thrive because I plan to go back for all of my future anime style tattoos!!

Palkin was incredible. I wanted to honor my dog and he brought that idea to life. I’ll be going back for my next ink.

I was here recently to finish a tattoo that was started a few months ago by another artist. David finished it in spectacular fashion! He was professional, accommodating, and fun to be around. I was welcomed to be a guest tattoo artist at Mimik for a week. Aside from my own great personal experience, I paid attention to their engagement with clientele. The whole crew from their front desk staff Rachel and Carly, to their marketing/ photo team, and of course the artists are all simply great. This is the tattoo shop you want to go to . Don’t even think about going anywhere else because you’ll be wasting your time. Unless it’s their sister shop Vault then it’s allowed.

I drove down from Richmond to get a Haunter tattoo done by Nuke and I will definitely be making the drive again in the future. The whole staff is so warm and genuine and all of the artists are very talented and professional. The space is very modern, clean, and inviting. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The staff here were all wonderful and the atmosphere is super fun. My brother and I drove in from Virginia Beach to get sibling tattoos done by Donnie and had such a great time. He was awesome and showed so much attention to detail — my brother and I were both blown away. Can’t wait to come back here and definitely recommend this studio to all!

Absolutely happy there’s another great location besides Vault that I can get all of my anime and gaming tattoos done! IMO a different vibe than Vault, everyone here is super friendly and has a more family-coworker feel when you’re there. They play good music, and the girl at the reception area is AMAZING!Book your tattoos ASAP because this place is a hidden gem right now and there’s great availability.Shout-outs to Kylie she does great line work. This place seemed a little sketch based on the reviews. They always say don’t trust a place that has perfect reviews that are posted all at the same time frame and say the same thing bc it could just be their friends/family or doing some kind of leave a review get a prize situation but the pictures looked ok so why not. I tried calling and no one picked up twice in one day and once on another. So I went to ig, sent a message, was told to fill out a form, did and so far nothing and that was three weeks ago. I’m very picky about who does my tattoo and their experience which is why I called so the fact that I couldn’t get in contact with anyone along with the perfect reviews weirded me out and is why I gave them this review.

So I’m doing this because they’re doing tattoo gate pricing and things like those need to be called out. I originally sent them a message on IG asking for a new artiest to fill in 2 comic book panel tattoo that I have with just black ink with the two characters I want in each square plus one day it will be a sleeve in hoping that if I like the artiest that will do that too. They asked me to fill out a form, I did and added more details like it was two 2x4 squares and I sent a picture of my arm showing it’s mostly line art, some shading and the two blank squares. They came back saying it will be $1300 for it! $1300 for two 2 inch by 4 inch squares with no color!!!! I posted this on social and every tattoo artiest said at the most $200 per square but they basically wanted $650 per square. Although I did not pay them anything and I basically ran away when they told me how much it would cost, I’m just saying beware of large tattoo places like this and their pricing!
