Good Family Tattoo

All the staff if super friendly and every time I get something new done I know that I’m in good hands. I needed help with my nostril piercing because I ordered cheap jewelry that was too small for the hole and they were able to stretch it back out and give me the proper jewelry! I never get piercing bumps any more and all of my piercing I’ve gotten here are perfect placement and have healed awsome! They are really patient with their clients to make sure that we are happy with the results!

I just got my first tattoo done here yesterday and Im so glad that I went here rather than another shop. I talked to Andy over the phone to figure things out he was super helpful. Cass was my artist and she did an amazing job, answered all my questions, and Im glad my first piece was one of hers. The price was also great and better than other quotes I had gotten. If youre thinking about getting a tattoo I highly recommend getting it here!

Me and my sisters went in with a design in mind but was open to interpretation due to the fact that we didnt want to copy someone elses work (the first picture) and they have knocked it out of the park. Zoe, the artist, truly is amazing. They have amazing policy of getting the stencil approved by others to make sure that its lined up properly and straight. And when its done they will show it to the artist the finished project. The owner is amazing as well very informative and helpful with achieving your happiness. All around an amazing experience and I will definitely be back for more

My first time and I absolutely loved the friendliness of the staff and how they made my experience there awesome!. I’ve been wanting to stop in (but time gets away from me )and say thank you to Joel and wife for the hospitality they showed my mom during her first and only tattoo. Ive went for years, wont go anywhere else either. In the past month Ive went 3 times. My grandparents handwriting, 2 piercings, a touch up tattoo. Ill continue going as well. I know the owners wife and they are kind hearted amazing people who give back to the community. Always have quality people working for them as well

This is the third tattoo I’ve gotten at Good Family, and of course it came out just the way I wanted it! Thank you to Joel for putting my vision into art. I’ve been so indecisive about the type of memorial tattoo I wanted to get and he captured it perfectly.

I’m very sad I have to write a bad review. I asked for snake eyes and got a nightmare . Joel used a straight bar to do my snake eyes. Didn’t use a clamp. Joel and his wife I’m pretty sure (she is) kept saying how it was the swelling causing it to look very crooked. I explained I’ve had them before and the first time I had them done, they were straight . So placement was a huge issue. Joel did say let it heal for a couple weeks and if it doesn’t heal correctly, he could always redo it. Not mind you these type of piercings are very painful and takes time to heal. So waiting and having it reject was a no start. I went to another tattoo place and they told me that the bar that the other place used was wrong and they repierce my tongue as my tongue was very well sore. I did call Joe back, and I spoke with his wife who had returned my money back to me, but it was more than just getting my money back. He proceeded to do a piercing that he was not experienced to do. Unfortunately, the conversation ended with. I hope you returned back to our tattoo and piercing shop and my response was no I will not. I’ve give them many chances and I’ve only had one successful piercing, and that was my lip. I’m sorry but avoid . Go at your own risk

Took my daughter for 2nd piercings in her ears. We had the 1st ones done here 4.5 years ago. Shop was clean, staff was professional, yet relaxed and very helpful. Considering a tattoo, and got information while there as well.

Late last month my family and I went to get tattoos for a family member that we recently lost. For some of us, it was our first time experiencing this tattoo shop and all of us came out of there extremely happy, not only with the work they did on our tattoos, but for the kindness and their customer service. From the moment they opened those doors for those of us waiting outside until they opened, they were welcoming and had positive attitudes. We worked closely with Joel and Lillie and they were both fantastic. I cant thank them enough for the great experience that we had!!

There are not enough positive things I can say about this place. From Joel who runs his business in such a positive manner, to the front staff who are supper friendly, to the artist who focus on the client rather than the money. There is no where else in Lake County let alone Illinois to go for ink or piercings!!! Thank you good family for feeling welcoming to everyone and respecting all types of individuals!

Zoey is absolutely AMAZING! She did a beautiful job on my deer with octopus antler tattoo. Absolutely in love with it. Would definitely go to her again for another tattoo!

We did a walk in and I got Destiny as my artist. She drew multiple sketch sizes and I cannot be more happy as to what I got in the end. Excellent service top notch and the pricing was right.

My wife and I have gotten several tattoos here. Great staff. A bit of a tight schedule but when they get you in the product is great. You pay what you get for with tattoos. The price matches the quality with them. My shoulder piece was around $600 with an artist who has a masters in fine arts. He could have put 5 more hours of work in but I couldn’t afford any more detail. They are very reasonable with price. I will be back.

Just got a finished piece from Good Family, 1st from them but 8th overall. Shelby ABSOLUTELY KILLED IT. I love this tattoo, it is beatutiful. Again I cant state how awesome it is and how great of a job Shelby did. This shop is super clean and all the artist were extremely friendly. You can tell they all love their craft. Heck of job!

The piercer (Taylor) was so nice and helped my friend and I feel calm in there. The piercings turned out great and we’re so happy with them!!

Got my Belly button pierced today. I was pierced by Taylor and she was amazing, payed so much attention to hygiene and placement and talked me through the whole process. Everyone was so kind and the process took MAYBE 10 minutes from walking into the shop to leaving. would definitely recommend and will be back for any future piercings.

UPDATE* FINALLY GOT AROUND TO CALLING AFTER DEBATING IF I WANT TO GO BACK AND LET THEM FIX IT FOR ME. I WAS TOLD THE OWNER WOULD CALL BACK SAME DAY (TUESDAY) OR NEXT DAY NOW ITS ABOUT TO BE FRIDAY AND THE OWNER HAS NOT ATTEMPTED TO GET AHOLD OF ME) TO SAY IM VERY DISAPPOINTED IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT.Im a bit disappointed in my tattoo, Ive been here before for piercings and tattoos so I trusted they would do good work but this has to be the worst tat Ive gotten. Im hoping they will retouch it and try to fix it but now I have to wait another 2 weeks or so. The line work is terrible because she didnt rest her arm on anything her arm was just out in the open the whole time and the fill in is missing sooo many spots. I cant honestly believe what I got. MIND YOU THIS IS LIKE 2 WEEKS OLD

I had the best experience here today from the moment I walked in the door. Joel made sure to greet everyone that was waiting for the doors to open. Very clean and every single staff person there was very helpful and social. The experience was spot on from the start. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone looking for a tattoo or piercings. I recently had a fantastic piercing experience at Good Family Tattoo, thanks to Taylors exceptional skills and professionalism. From the moment I walked in, Taylor made me feel comfortable and explained the entire process thoroughly. The attention to hygiene and precision during the piercing was impressive. I left with a awesome snake bite piercing and a positive impression of Taylors expertise. Highly recommend for a top-notch piercing experience!

I went to get my septum done the day after Christmas so there was a bit of a line but the receptionist was very helpful with bringing out additional chairs to sit on. This was my first time going to this kind of establishment, recommended by many good friends. The atmosphere inside is very chill, being a minor, me and my guardian had to sign a quick form at the desk. Before my actual piercing, Joel, the owner of the studio, came out to the front to give quick and thorough instructions on piercing aftercare. Joel was the one to pierce my septum. We talked while he was prepping his equipment, a very forward and outgoing fellow. During the actual piercing, he explained every step and skillfully slid in a titanium barbell. This was actually the first piercing I got to experience since I got my ear piercings very young, I rate the pain 1/10!! I was pleasantly surprised. Other than having to pay afterwards, Joel wrote me a note of what to do to my septum and when in order to have the best healing possible. Overall, it was a great experience! Although I would have liked to see more people of color other than myself and my family, everyone was very welcoming and comforting. I highly recommend this place and will definitely come again. I would also like to add that they have handmade purses and shawls available at the front desk; a cute little touch to the studio! :D

Good Family Tattoo is the ONLY place I will ever go again for tattoos and piercings! The owner, Joel, is one of the most awesome people Ive ever met, both as an artist and a human being. I love that the work is so professional, and the artists really care about your vision for the artwork. The piercer, Taylor, is really a pro and knows what shes doing. Ive had 7 tattoos and 5 piercings there, and my husband is working on a sleeve right now. My husband, son and daughter have all piercings and tattoos there and they couldnt be happier! I went to see Taylor to get a piecing changed after a bad experience at another place. She was so helpful, kind and best of all she explained each thing she was doing before she did it. And it didn’t hurt at all! She did such a good job I’ll definitely be going back if I want another piercing done or need help getting jewelry changed again.

We went in for a nostril piercing for my daughter. This was her third piercing from Good Family. They have always been professional, courteous, and friendly. They make sure to check in with their customer every step of the way. The establishment is also very clean and comfortable. I am sure we will be back again.

I went here with a friend for my first ever tattoo, and they were so kind! I showed up for a walk-in and they got me set up right away. I wanted the word “Love” written in my grandma’s handwriting, and the artist working with me was so great. He took a picture of my grandma’s handwriting and printed out multiple different sizes of her handwriting to see which one I liked best. He explained the difference between each of the sizes and how they will look over time, which was so helpful! I was nervous but my artist was great, he explained what he was doing and answered all of my questions!! I definitely recommend this place :) it’s overall so welcoming and everyone seemed lovely!

I loveeee it here. everyone was so welcoming and accommodating. i got my first tattoo yesterday and they offered me snacks so i wouldn’t get lightheaded. andy was really good, my tattoo came out beautiful and his line work is amazing. highly recommend :)

I got my ears pierced by them about 3 months ago and I came back because one of them started to get irritated and infected. They were so kind and helped me so much, they were able to help me treat it. It is doing great now and I love them so much!

A few years back I came here with my mom to get my nostril and belly button pierced, my mom also got her industrial pierced. The atmosphere was wonderful, service was excellent, and the prices were perfect. I came back a year or two later and the service was still top-notch. Definitely would recommend as the best tattoo or piercing shop nearby.

Will never go here again. Got a tattoo done here and was charged $300. Wasnt even that big of a tattoo.The line work was inconsistent. The corners were sloppy and had gaps. The shading most of the shading was gone by the time it healed and it was just all in all a bad job. I ended up getting it redone by a different artist at a different shop 6 months later. They do walk ins but it is sooo not worth it

This is THE BEST shop to go to! They are especially great for special tribute tattoos if you have lost a loved one. The owner, Joel, really gets the importance of that moment. There are many artists to choose from....each one incredibly talented. They also are fantastic at doing piercings. They have so many repeat customers, and that says a lot. Joel also does a lot of charity events, including Toys for Tats, where you spin a wheel when you donate a toy at Christmas, for a chance to win tattoos or piercings. Joel walks the talk with an array of tattoos and piercings on his own body. Beneath his waist-length dreads is a great man, with a great business. Give it a try!

Zoe is the bomb! This girl is young but man she is so detailed. Her lines are on point, her shading is fabulous I wish I could give ten stars.

I had a wonky septum piercing done at a different shop, went back to see that piercer at said shop..he told me it was ‘fine’ and rushed me out the door, like he did the day of my piercing.So I decided to go Good family to get a second opinion, as the piercing didn’t look or feel right and was developing multiple large, angry looking bumps on both sides. (Despite strict and religious after care)I had a feeling it had to do with poor placement of the piercing itself and Taylor confirmed this for me.She was super patient, thorough, attentive, knowledgeable and so sweet.We unfortunately had to remove my septum piercing, but I knew this was a highly likely possibility anyways.All this to say, that I appreciate the amazing customer service and guidance on Taylor’s part. If it weren’t for her, I would have been walking around with a bad piercing quickly doing more damage to the inside of my nose.My only regret is that I didn’t come to good family to have my piercing done in the first place. Thanks Taylor! :)

Did a walk in tattoo, Shelby was awesome! The whole shop has such a nice vibe and everyone there is so welcoming and helpful. Ive been there in the past to get my ears pierced as well and that was a great experience too. Definitely one of the best shops that still offers walk in availability.Only tip for walk ins: get there about 30-45 minutes before opening. They go based on which car was in the parking lot first, second, etc

Ive gotten tattoos at other shop and Good Fam is definitely the best ! Lillie did my sons first tattoo and mine. We love her! Shes sweet and an amazing artist! Andy did my cousin and nephews tats - again they look amazing. Destiny did my sisters and hers was the biggest of all of ours with the most challenging placement. Great place and great atmosphere.

Absolutely loved my experience!! For our first tattoos, my girlfriend and I were somewhat nervous about getting them done. But after going through the process with Tim and Rachel, we loved how they turned out!! If youre going there for a tattoo I highly recommend requesting an appointment with Tim or Rachel as they are both extremely talented and charismatic artists. 11/10 work. We will definitely be returning again. :)

I have gotten three piercings from this shop and I have never had a bad experience. My first piercing was done by Marcus and my other two piercings were done by Taylor. They do a fantastic job!! The place is clean and very neat. They always know what they’re doing and if you’re nervous they help calm your nerves during and before the piercing. I absolutely love it here and would definitely recommend it to anyone getting a tattoo or piercing. Definitely will be coming back for more!!! Thank you!

Brought my little sister here to get her ears pierced and it was a great experience! Very knowledgeable and friendly piercers. I myself have gotten three piercings here so far and plan on returning.

Got a naval piercing here in march, wasnt healing properly so I got it checked out. The piercer said that they were putting in a J curve naval piercing because of my belly button shape, but when I got it checked out at another tattoo shop (all the way in Washington DC), they said that the jewelry used for my naval IS NOT EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE USED ON THE NAVAL. They said it was absolutely not the right piece of jewelry and said they have never seen anything like that used on a naval before. This was the most horrendous experience Ive ever had. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. If I could give it 0 stars I would

I’ve been tattooed by just about every artist here, and I’ve had a great experience each time. They’re all super friendly and do fantastic work. Pricing is a steal for the quality you get. I highly recommend.

I hate to right bad reviews but when I feel it’s necessary I will. I went to this tattoo shop yesterday wanting a tattoo behind my ear. She sketched it out and did everything for me just fine. She then proceeded to say right before she started to tattoo me “I’m going to charge 200 for this” she had just started tattooing me so I didn’t say anything but for the performance of the tattoo and the size of it 200 is such a scam. It could be the placement maybe people charge more for behind the ear but for how big it was and how much shading 200 is absolutely ridiculous. Also I wanted to mention that my cousin had got a tattoo here and hers is absolutely beautiful and 2x bigger than what mine is and 10x more shading + detail and hers was 150… make it make sense. Will not be returning here again. I’m sure she thought maybe I was a stupid teen that didn’t know my prices but hate to break it to you but i do. Will not be returning here again.

This place is amazing. That word doesnt even begin to describe it though. They dont mind you bringing in your kids and even offer them temporary tats. . . My daughter loves going in. I know they do great work there so I had no problem waiting the 2 months for the appointment. But what I was given by far exceeded my expectations. My artist was Destiny. She already had a full drawing done up for me when I got there. She was so awesome. Shes still relatively new to the industry but I belting thats what makes her so great. She was extremely diligent and took her time to make sure ever line was on point and all of the shading was fully saturated. Ive had several tattoos done, some from other artists there and a I would still go back to Destiny. The atmosphere is so chill, and everyone at the shop are amazing but the line work she did for me is absolutely stunning. To all the folks at Good Family Thank You! This piece will forever be my favorite.

I have gone here since I turned 18 (25 now), I have gotten 6 pieces done here by multiple artists. I have never even been slightly disappointed. Everyone here does amazing work and has amazing customer service. They make you feel right at home. My most recent piece was done by Shelby and was beyond my expectations. Joel runs a very good crew. I will never go anywhere else. Highly highly HIGHLY recommended this place for all of your tattoo and piercing needs!

I just got my first tattoo here by the owner Joel, who is a great guy that I had some awesome conversation with. The tattoo is a serious work of art. Was awesome, in and out in about 10 minutes. I was having trouble with my nose ring, and had a couple questions. Taylor was awesome and helped me figure out what was up with my nose, and changed the piercing. Will be going back again!

I went with a small group with my best friend. We all got tattoos but my best friend got a nose piercing too because I was the last one getting tatted. It was my first professional tattoo (I have a stick and poke on my ankle) and I was so excited that the pain barely bothered me. Everyone there was incredibly amazing to be around, especially the owner. I had a great time and look forward to going there for future tats. My tattoo healed very well and I am still amazed with how it turned out. Rachel was the one who did mine and she was very professional and made sure I was doing okay the entire time. (I got a rib tattoo. My moms birthday in Roman numerals w 2 butterfly’s). She was fun to work with and was able to work out exactly what I wanted. I only wished I could’ve tipped her more. Loved this place, excellent environment with good vibes. I’m already planing more tattoos.

GO GET THE SERVICE YOUVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT!I’ve heard of good family my whole life, always heard mixed reviews but i was interested in a third eye surface bar, my typical shop doesn’t do many piercings like that so i decided to take the chance and i’ve never been happier. They take their time marking for the piercings, they make sure you are happy and getting what you want. Beyond my service which was absolutely impeccable, the service and care they gave to absolutely everyone that walked through the door was absolutely heartwarming lol.

I got my 3rd tattoo at Good Family and LOVE it here. Everybody here is always very friendly and find myself just hanging out talking with everyone. The owner Joel is one of the nicest genuine person I think Ive ever met. When you go to Good Family ask for Shelby, she can tattoo anything you want. Went here and got my eyebrow, double vertical labret and my navel piercings! They were all pierced by Taylor! She has great work and i never had any complications with my piercings, they all have healed very well. Great place to go if you are thinking about getting any piercings or tattoos.

I took my daughter to have her belly button pierced and they were clean and friendly and seemed very knowledgeable. She marked out the piecing and everything looked good, however we noticed when we got home it looked a little crooked. Over time it has become very obvious that it was pierced on a slant/ angle. This wouldnt even be that bad except her bars often want to turn in so you can not see the gem on thr bottom at all. I feel bad for my daughter because I can tell she tries to pretend it doesnt bother her but it clearly does. Had it actually been pierced mostly straight this would have been a much better review.

Not just a name but a description. I won a gift-card to this shop from a raffle so I originally went in because it was going to be a free tattoo but after experiencing this shop I will definitely be back. They truly treat you like family. They are super accommodating. Joel did a great job with the tattoo. Overall I cant say enough good things about this place, everyone I spoke to was genuine and treated me like family.

The staff here is so great. They are forward with their prices and very thoughtful in regards to making clients happy and keeping them safe. Lillie has gentle hands if you are looking to get a piercing. She made sure to explain any issues the piercing may cause and also the maintenance on helping it heal correctly and quickly.

Visited here to get double ear piercings for my daughter. The wait was long because they were running a sale. 1/2 off, but didn’t mind as the price was way cheaper than we had anticipated. The staff was very friendly and professional. Everything was clean. The gal used a needle, not a gun. They answered all questions and didn’t rush you out after the piercing. They definitely seemed to care about the customer and were willing to spend extra time where needed. Lastly, the piercings did not get infected at all. Would go here again and would recommend base on our experience.

Andy did a phenomenal job on my lipstick tattoo! He made it way better than I could ever imagine! The shop closed at 8 p.m. that day and he stayed late to make sure my friend and I got the artwork we wanted! Also, the staff is so welcoming and personable! Super clean. Calming atmosphere. Love the work I had done on my tattoo that was started by another place that actually scarred me. Felt relaxed and secure with Joel who did a great job with the color its like he knew exactly what I wanted without me having to be a control freak and tell him every detail. ....Love it! Horrible, took 3 months to get an Appoitment. No follow up on the wait, or return calls or messages, and a couple days before tattoo date artist couldn’t do the original job agreed too when deposit was given, artist was young, somewhat ignorant/attitude and in-mature. Went to Tiger tattoo in Lake Villa whole different positive experience.

Great tattoo shop, they do take walk ins but as stated below try to get there early! Although I did a walk in Destiny drew up three different sketches for me until I loved it. I would highly recommend Good Family.

My daughter got her ears pierced here when she turned 10, Marcus was fabulous. I went back to get a piercing recently, but due to covid restrictions I was unable to. Husband and I took our 13 year old daughter to Good Family to get her cartilage pierced for her birthday! The shop was really clean and bright and decorated so upbeat with great music. Personally I had two eight-hour sessions and they were very accommodating. Towards the end they even provided pizza! After this visit I would never consider going ANYWHERE else for a tattoo. If you live out of the area it is definitely worth the drive to pay a visit.The customer service and personalities of the employees is what makes this tattoo shop the best around, it shows in the quality of work performed!

I went there to get my nose pierced again and Marcus was the best. He made sure the piercing was in the correct spot, and also gave me detailed instructions on how to clean it. I’ve noticed this time around the piercing is way less sore and I barely feel it in my nose. He also helped me with getting belly button pierced again and I didn’t feel a thing. From the moment the three of us pulled in to the lot for walk-ins and Joel hopped around the corner of the shop with a big smile on his face, we felt like we were in good hands. The process was streamlined and everyone was very friendly. Frank did two out of our three tattoos and Katie did the other. Both artists were great! My personal experience with this business was awful. The tattooist work was terrible. As soon as the scab came off so did the ink and where the fill in was there is lines where it is ink and then skin where it was not filled completely in. Very unprofessional and very unorganized. Tried for months to contact someone in complete vein. I felt very taken advantage of, I felt they were dishonest, and would not recommend this place to anyone experienced or not with getting tattoos. Worst place ever!!! Oh and don’t give a security deposit.

I had seen the place in passing for years and when a family friend recommended them, I decided this was the place for my first tattoo. Clean and well maintained facilities and personalized work stations, friendly, knowledgeable and talkative staff, and a superb job on my tattoo. My artist put her own twist to my base image and made it into exactly what I wanted.

I got my nose pierced 10 days ago out of state. The earring stuck out of my nose and looked horrible. It was way too big. I spoke with good family. They asked me to come in. I did. The young lady (forgot her name, Im so sorry) helped me with changing it out and gave me so much more information on which nose rings to get, type, etc. She was so helpful and very knowledgeable. Stay away from this place. Initially and still unhappy with the tattoo even after 2 attempts by 2 different artists, which included the owner Joel. Decided to still give the place business with a piercing for my daughter. The girl who did the piercing had no clue what she was doing. Ran in last minute to have my daith piercing replaced after noticing that I had lost the end ball. I tried to put another ball on the end myself with no luck. We arrived at 3:20 on Sunday... they were closing at 4. The manager jumped up to help me and had the curved barbell in stock, just slightly larger than the one I lost. He replaced it with no problem, still using sanitary measures-- which impressed me. The cleanliness and order of the shop overall was excellent. After a brief friendly conversation about the shop decor-- my husband mentioned the tattoo I need to have finished-- we moved here recently from Pennsylvania. I was told they prefer an in person consultation with the artist and a deposit to schedule (which was expected, and I am now planning to have Good Family complete the cover up on my back.) Note: They will respond to inquiries on FB messenger also.

The artists are great. Great work, great style variety, etc. Customer service on the other hand is beyond poor. Don’t expect an organized process if you want continuity with an artist on a certain Piece. Expect to be told to come in at noon instead of making an appointment, then told they can’t get you in. Time after time.

Well I have not gotten any tattoos, but I have taken my daughter there for piercings. Joel and his staff are the best. They also get involved in the community. Because of them I was able to make a memorial donation of blood at their blood drive in memory of my best friend who had committed suicide that morning.

I came in as a walk in to cover an old homemade tattoo on my hand. I was greeted with great energy and elbow bumps. I was nervous coming in after getting told from other local shops that I would need something big and dark to cover the old tat up. Joel worked with me personally and genuinely listen to what I wanted. He sketched my idea and his ideas as we spoke. He introduced me to Andy who did an amazing job. He walked me through the process and made sure I was good with the colors and sketch before getting started. End result I couldnt be more in love with my tattoo! My friend got a piercing here and she was freaking out beforehand, the piercer was so calming and very understanding with her nervousness. They are also super clean ! I plan on getting quite a bit of work done here.

I got a lip piercing and the piercer did a poor job. Did not line up the piercing so my piercing is lopsided. She put in a hoop that doesnt take swelling into account. She failed to tell me anything about gauge size or what to do/not to do to avoid any complications. She did however tell me to clean with saline wipe and that I can change out my hoop after a month, but thats it. Before piercing my lip, she didnt thoroughly check to make sure there were no veins or possible obstructions, she just jumped right into piercing me. Im lucky to not be bleed profusely to be quite frank. I recommend going to Liberty Tattoo for any piercings, the piercer is awesome and does great work there. I regret not going to him in the first place but I was trying to save money and instead ended up losing 40 bucks. I will never go to this place again.

This place is a joke. Came in a couple times for my appointments and it was nothing but excuses and saying they arent capable of doing the tattoos I wanted. Unbelievable. Thanks for wasting my time and leading me on. The artists might be good, but it aint worth the frustration. Couldnt give me a quote, extremely unorganized and they definitely dont make the customer a priority. I heard so many good things about this place but after my experience Id say the only good thing is that its clean..I have never felt so unwelcomed and if you have your own image of what kind of tattoo you want, dont expect to be treated very well especially by the owner. Luckily there are other tattoo shops near by who actually hear you out and do amazing work

I have gone here for my tattoo work since ive moved back to illinois in 2014. So far ive had work done with 2 artists there on multiple occasions, and the work has been great with both of them. A long time ago, i got some piercing done below the belt and not only was it handled professionally, but the piercing healed and looked great with no issues. My first time there, not knowing the tattoo artist, I was given a well done tattoo. The tattoo I had done was my bunnys paw prints on my chest. He was my child. Smart and loving. I was skeptical about the tattoo at first because bunny paw prints are hard to do but not for Good Family Tattoo.

The owners and workers were awesome! Very friendly and make you very comfortable! Would go back and definitely recommend!

Went there twice to get a quote on my forearm and called a couple times to see if someone was avail.. Every time I went I was turned away and told to come at noon the next day. They said if I wanted to schedule it it would be a month out. Pretty upset as I recommended two people to go there. Seemed like the artists just didnt want to do it as when I came in the second time it was EMPTY...

Taylor was the absolute best!! We had a group of 4 and she was so patient and we had the best time getting pierced!

This place has horrible service and rude employees. Ive never been treated so bad at a tattoo place where they drove me to go somewhere else. And Im happy they did because Liberty Tattoo is the best place by far. Very very clean and super sweet. I give 5 stars to Liberty Tattoo, Good Family doesnt even deserve one star.

I came in as a walk in. I was the 2nd one. The artist did an amazing job on my boyfriends tatoo . My boyfriend has my name and I got his name with a rose. Very friendly staff, the owner is awesome. Ill definitely be coming back to get a 2nd tatoo .

Wonderful artists and atmosphere very low key. I told the artists what I wanted and she was able to produce it quickly. No pain.
