I had an amazing experience at the Artists of Blue Velvet Tattoo. I had wanted a tattoo for a very long time, but was nervous as this is something permanent and I am super particular. Rafael Serrano was so kind, listened to my concerns, and helped me design a beautiful, meaningful tattoo with great placement. The fine line artwork and attention to detail came out beautifully. I was pleasantly surprised that the process was relatively painless. In fact, I was so pleased with the process I ended up getting a second tattoo the following week on my foot.The studio is impeccably clean and sanitary. I was made aware of each step in the process and how to care for my tattoos after they were finished.

My first experience at Blue Velvet was great. AJ was my artist and is so personable and made the session super comfortable. The designs she came up with were super creative and she executed them perfectly! Excited to go back soon! 100% would recommend

I got my first tattoo at age 53. Abigail did an amazing job. The detail is way better than I ever expected. She helped me choose a design and it turned out perfect! I couldnt be happier!

This place is like my second home and Raf is like family! I wouldnt get tattooed anywhere else... and my two sleeves, back and legs prove it! Abby is also amazing with her fine lines and beautiful pieces!

Absolutely wonderful tattoo shop with TALENTED artists. I came in with a (kinda ugly lol) tattoo I got when I was 19 on a flash sheet near my college, and AJ revamped it to be now one of my all time favorite pieces. Will definitely be going back when I’m in the area again— check them out! You will not regret it

Blue velvet is a great place with a great atmosphere. Rafael is extremely talented and does amazing work! I would not go anywhere else for tattoos.

Raffy is by far the best artist around. He does all styles of art and he brings his passion for it, straight to the table every single time. All of my work has been done, covered up, touched up, designed by Raffy. The first piece he did for me was 7 years ago. I searched everywhere for an artist that I could trust to touch up my mom’s memorial tattoo on my back as it means the most to me since she was with me when I got it. It was blown out and needed life brought back to it. I found Raffy and he not only did that but he turned it into an amazing full back piece. I wanted it done on my mom’s 10 year anniversary. He was away in Puerto Rico with family that day but this man came home to do my tattoo for me on this meaningful day🙏🏼 from this tattoo forward he has become not only my artist and unofficial therapist lol but a true friend. If you are looking for any tattoos at all you will be in the best hands.

Walked in freaking out over losing a helix earring, and the hole potentially closing up (it is fresh) and Raphael went out of his way to save me and my ear, even though they weren’t who pierced it originally. And my dude was trying to not even charge me anything! 11/10 customer service. Place also looked hella clean and beautiful!

Came across this tattoo shop and will forever be grateful I stopped in. Abigail has done 3 tattoos for me now, and I have never had an artist who put so much thought into my tattoos. She helped choose the placement best suited for my anatomy and took my ideas and turned it into a unique custom design! The shop in general has a great atmosphere and tattoos were reasonably priced.

AJ was awesome! This was my daughter’s first tattoo. She talked her through the entire process. We will be back again and definitely recommend this place!

Amazing place. They took me and my best friend last minute for matching tattoos, before his flight home, which means a great deal to us. Clean, very professional, friendly, made us feel very welcome. Been looking for a solid tattoo place since moving to the area and I 100% recommend this place. The gentleman that tattooed us (I didnt catch his name unfortunately, assuming it was the owner.) Was very light handed, I actually fell asleep for a few minutes while he was doing the tattoo. The line work is immaculate, extremely clean. 10/10 ❤️ thanks for taking us.

I recently got a tattoo by Rafael Serrano. I have not been to his shop before, but I saw the reviews online and popped in to meet him. He was very welcoming and helpful, I got a good vibe, so I stopped by the following week to get some work done. He did a fabulous job, my tattoo looked and looks exactly like the picture I showed him. I am so glad I went with my instincts and went with him, I highly recommend him for your next tattoo.

This is the best possible place to go for your first tattoo! Nikki did a brilliant job of our special tats, she was gentle, precise and she made our simple little designs look amazing! All of the staff were really nice and made us feel welcome and at ease which was important considering our nerves! If we ever decide to get more tattoos, we’d be happy to travel a long way back to Blue Velvet! Thanks guys!

The workers there are wonderful!! I called last minute because of an issue of a closing nostril piercing, and they were incredibly accommodating. They allowed me to walk in, and helped to fix the hole as well as switch with a hoop, all with kindness. Very affordable and great customer service, as well as a nice place. Would 100% recommend!

I got my first tat when I was 18 from Amber while she was working at Jay Birds. Now that I am double that age, Ive had 5 more done by her & 2 done by her co-workers at Blue Velvet. They are excellent artists, amazing at drawing up what I felt I was explaining terribly, polite & quick. The shop is spotless & in a prime location coming from Philly or Jersey. I cant wait to go back & get another! Thanks guys!

Absolutely amazing tattoo place! Julia Carlson created an absolute perfect tattoo for me, it was beyond anything I couldve imagined! From the line work, to the detail, she is a true artist indeed with a beautiful soul! Highly recommend going here for any of your tattoo needs!

Rafael was so, so nice and knocked my simple wrist tattoo out of the park! I had my late aunts signature done and it looks like she just picked up a pen and signed my wrist. She was an incredibly special person in my life and now every time I see it I smile! Thank you so much!

I showed a tattoo someone had and got the same exact spec by spec tattoo. The quality is perfect and there was absolutely no pain and Im more than happy with the outcome. The staff Ive met was 100% friendly and the price was worth every penny.

I didnt get a tattoo done but I got a piercing. Super friendly but professional staff, very clean instruments and shop, and an overall great experience!! If you ever need a piercing or tattoo done, definitely check these guys out. Seriously such an awesome place!

I have had 3 Tattoos done at Blue Velvet & all 3 have been great Tattooing experiences!! 2 were done when it was owned by Amber 1 was script the other was a cartoon character in which I LOVE but the coloring I was not happy W/ I was told that after healing that it would POP! it never did- Buy my last Tattoo was done by Ness & hes the man... I was so picky he must of moved my outline like 8-11x & was totally cool about it, He didnt get frustrated or make loud sigh sounds when I was like can we move it a bit up but over & back& he was like listen this will be permanent nently on you Ill move it until your 110% happy W/ the placement. Again I have been so happy W/the drawings the only thing I can say is that my Carrtoon Tattoo Im unhappy W/but again only W/ the coloring, but Ness said come back & he will fix things up. So all in all I have had Awesome experiences & would Highly recommend them to anyone whos interested in getting a Tattoo. Blue Velvet is a very Clean Cool Place W/very Nice Kind Helpful Artists who are honest & ALWAYS GIVE THEIR All when doing a Tattoo & if they think that another Artist can do a better job they will tell you & recommend you getting your Tattoo done by the other Artists!!! The best place around! Rafael is not only a very talented artist, he’s a dear friend who has become family.The artists there are all amazing and talented!

Cant say much about the shop, except it should pay attention to its artists, but Juan not only botched the original tat, but his fix was worse. if I could post a picture, I would. My cover up is costing me a fortune, but what a learning experiance. Stay away from this guy...

I got my belly button pierced here two years ago and everyone was so understanding, I fainted afterwards and not only did she help me and let me lay on the couch for awhile she was so nice!

So happy that I got my first tattoo done by rafy. Will definitely refer some people and absolutely will come back again in the future if anything.
