Went for second lobe piercing. Nervous because I got first one as infant. This was quick, easy, painless. They were kind and clean. No complaints. 5 star experience 😊.

Really unprofessional experience getting my helix pierced. The piercer just handed me a big thing of jewelry and asked me to pick one without explaining anything about the process at all. Ended up going with a princess cut gem that was way too big for the space where he pierced, and the bar was way too short. I had to visit another piercer two days later to have it taken out after it cut into my ear. I’ve had a lot of piercings done, but never my cartilage, and this was the most negative experience I’ve had. Dude also tried to take us back without having us sign a waiver, and even tho the shop was super busy he was outside smoking every 20 min, making people wait for him. Rude experience all around, and not a place I would recommend if you want a piercing that lasts.

Whet and Got my dermals removed for a surgery Im getting. They got me right in. Was very nice and professional! Got them removed and I will be going back in about 6 weeks to get them redone! Was a great experience.

My wife had some piercings done and the staff was very professional. The place is very clean and we were in and out quickly. Prices are very reasonable. I had some ink done a year ago and Im very happy with it. Highly recommend this shop.

I absolutely love it here! I had Wes do a tattoo for me, and it turned out amazing, He did it as a walk-in, was very polite and I felt welcomed. Within a month I was back and working with Robbie the piercer, and was even happier with the service I received! I havent had any piercings done in a long time, he explained each step along the way and made me more relaxed. I am definitely going back soon!

Took my granddaughter in to have her ears pierced. Well she kept having a meltdown. We left and then came back. The 2 gentlemen that pierced them were absolutely AMAZING (sorry i forgot their names). They had so much patience! Definitely highly recommended! Thank you for being wonderful to her!

Had a great experience got my septum piercing and he did a great job it didnt hurt just the clamp hurt some but would go to him for more piercings

My friends and I went in for one of our birthdays to get tattoos and it was an amazing experience. Wes did my tattoos and he was absolutely fantastic he is so easy going and personable and his work is beautiful. Initially I was nervous because one of the tattoos was on my butt, but he made me feel so comfortable and I could not be happier with the experience or with the tattoos. I’ll definitely be coming in again!

Jeremy is AMAZING! Not only does he do his best to make sure your tattoo experience is comfortable, his work is incredible. I get compliments on my back all the time, or people asking me who did my ink. Hes also fun to talk to and the hours in his chair will fly by!

My daughter has gotten 3 tattoos done with Wes! The environment is wonderful funny basically good company! The art work and skill are amazing! Even when we just walk in! I just got my first one with him but am already planning the next one!! See ya soon guys!

We took our daughters to get their ears pierced. The shop was very clean. The artist was very easy going and wonderful with my girls. He explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it all while keeping them calm. I would highly recommend!

As soon as my fiancé and I walked in we were greeted the shop was very clean. I told my artist Wes what I wanted and he did exactly what I said. I love my tattoo so much and was even offered to fix one of my messed up tattoos that I hate! Absolutely amazing service and friendly employees.

One of the best places to get tatted up in Liberty. They take their time to make sure everything is perfect, people are really friendly and funny. Also have great shows, movies, and music playing while youre getting tatted or waiting. Highly highly recommend these folks!!!

My wife and I have been there a few times now and have always had a good experience with everyone in the shop. Everyone is friendly and professional. The prices are really reasonable. The work that I’ve seen and had done on myself and my wife have been really good. Tanner just started on a skull octopus and it’s looking really awesome after the first session. Still needs another session but looking amazing so far. I’ve gotten a cover up from him that looked great I’m really happy with it. We’ve gotten a few done out of the 80 dollar get what you get tats and they’ve always been pretty cool as well. All in all I definitely recommend.

As usual Jeremy provided a clean, professional and welcoming environment. His work is always great that’s why I keep going back 10 years later and several tattoos. By all means shop around, but remember good work ain’t cheap and cheap work ain’t good. Very disappointed in this business for illegally discriminating against a disabled person with their legitimately TRAINED service dog. Telling a disabled person they cannot use their medical equipment (service dog) in the procedure area is discrimination. Service dogs per FEDERAL LAW have the right to go with their handler.There is a difference between a STERILE PROCEDURE and a STERILE ENVIRONMENT.Getting a tattoo/piercing falls under a sterile procedure (so does getting stitches in the ER) both of which have to allow task trained service dogs.Getting surgery where everyone’s in scrubs, washes down, wears masks etc is a sterile environment.A service dog can accompany their handler for a sterile procedure. It’s so ignorant tattoo places are so uneducated they don’t comprehend how a service dog can literally go into a hospital for blood draws, stitches, testing etc with their disabled person who needs them but for some reason your dingy shop where you slap plastic wrap on stuff in jeans and a T-shirt and open a clean needle is somehow the most pristine hygienic environment in the world that can’t possibly handle following laws actual medical professionals do.I’ve been to several tattoo shops that actually abide by federal law and ADA with my personal service dog so there’s absolutely no excuse to discriminate.

Booked there, was excited to get my tattoo after hearing from multiple people that it was a sketchy place to go, I should have listened. My artist had to cancel for personal reasons, I respect that and I asked for my deposit back. After a month, no deposit. I almost called and then decided no, these are busy people, theyll get too it, youre not desperate for money and you dont wanna annoy them. It went on the back burner for a few months as I got busy with my life and I was told they would take care of it. I was checking my bank account and realised that it was still missing. I dont bother people for money, I have enough respect for people that I hope they know when they owe me, and I guess that trusting a business to be responsible for their own finances was a terrible mistake, so I finally caved in and called them. I understand that I should have called but I am a simple customer and they are supposed to be a business, I was rejected, immediately, no Ill see what I can do nothing. Just no. Anyway if you go here please dont tip your artist because theyre getting that from canceling someone elses appointment anyway. I paid yalls tip

Me and my sister went for our first tattoo and had a great experience. They were so welcoming and joked around to calm our nervousness.It was a bit pricey but the artists did an amazing and quick job! Totally coming back in the future.

Andy is amazing I came for a flower tattoo and not only did he do great on that but fixed 2 line work tattoos that I had received from a bad experience at another shop! I took my friends and he gave them amazing tattoos as well, i finally found a place that’s welcoming and amazing!!!

Super nice people! Jeremy did a touch up for me even though it’d bee 2 years since I’d gotten the original piece. His work was impeccable!!! The healing has been absolutely beautiful! Minimal to no scabbing and the line work is perfect. He also had a straightforward discussion with me about the best care to keep it looking great.Thank you Jeremy!!!

I got my nose pierced here today and Mandy, the women who did it, was so professional and nice! She did it quickly and it wasn’t painful at all. She also gave me very good advice and told me I can email her at anytime. I highly recommend this place for piercings!

I took two of my daughters there to get piercings. The gentleman was so kind and helpful. He did an excellent job. The entire place was pristine and wonderfully decorated. I would definitely go back for any of my piercing or tattoo needs.

I also got my cartridge pierced my another piercer out of town. I couldn’t get my earring off. Mandi was so nice and helped me get it off and change it. They both are the best.

I see Kristin (hair stylist) she is so trustworthy, which is hard to find in a hairstylist these days. I drive over an hour just to have her do my hair! She looks out for the health of your hair. I always leave her chair happy. The salon is decorated very cute, I love how they’ve combined a tattoo shop and hair salon into one.

Josh has a very light hand Ive gotten 2 in 2 weeks from him absolutely love his work funny guy the rest of the crew is all super chill and funny as hell. Andy did my 1st tattoo like 15 yrs ago still looks great. 10/10 highly recommended

I spur of the moment decided to get my forward helix pierced a few weeks ago so I stopped in. I was greeted and helped as soon as I walked in the doors and was in and out of the shop super fast. Mandy Jo was great and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. I will definitely be coming back to her for my next piercings!!

Mandy was amazing! She pierced my daughterss ears and was so patient and kind to her. She sterilized the earrings and had a very clean work area. She was very knowledgeable of the healing process as well. I didnt mention that I was in the medical field to her and that I have assisted in numerous surgeries and I know what to look for to assure a sterile field. She passed in my book with flying colors. I reccomend her to everyone.

I went in today to get a cover up on something Ive wanted to get rid of a long time now and I have been waiting. Darren did my tattoo at the same time my boyfriend was going to get worked on as well. He did a fantastic job. I see no resemblance to the old tattoo and they were all funny and inviting and made us feel like friends even tho this was my first time. It was clean, colorful and inviting. I was there for 4 hrs and the phone rang a few times and everyone was working on their customers. When someone was free they tried to call back to help them and got a bad review for not answering the phone. What people dont realize, is that these tattoo artists are dedicated in their art. They were dedicated to the people they were working on at that time. I felt like I was the most important person and I thank them for that. As I am sure the other people do too. Everyone there did a great job and I will be back for my next one. And I have already shown Darren work to my mom and sister. I will recommend them. 5 stars...

Jeremy has been tattooing me since I was 20. I have many original pieces that Jeremy drew directly on me just from an idea. Shop is extremely laid back and the bonus is the salon in the back. Jamie has also done my hair a few times I never leave disappointed! Shes magic with the cuts and color also extremely friendly genuinely cares about making you feel like a super model when done.One stop shop for all your needs!

The shop is clean, the work is phenomenal and pricing...the quality of work I’ve received is well worth what I’ve paid, very reasonable! Did I mention amazing? I came here for a walk in for some small lettering on my arm. Josh was very personable and friendly and he did a great job on my first tattoo. The whole process was quick and clean and he was great to work with. I asked a lot of questions and was very specific about what I wanted, and he was super patient. I would definitely recommend this place!

This review is solely based on the interaction with the owner, the artist that did the tattoo was pretty cool and the man that greeted us when we walked in was extremely nice! The shop also looked pretty clean from where I was allowed to sit.Let’s start off saying DO NOT GO OFF THE PRICING SHOWN ON THEIR WEBSITE. They have posted pricing for sizes of tattoos and fail to tell a customer that charges will be different in person. We were charged $20 more than quoted online.Secondly, the owner comes off as “entitled”, rude, and as if he is “better” than the paying customers. In certain situations, he will humiliate you in front of other customers and anyone within the business. Their business is one that chooses to mandate masks NO MATTER WHAT. If you have a medical condition that requires you NOT to wear a mask, DO NOT go to this tattoo shop. The owner will humiliate you for your medical reasoning. We were not told that it was a requirement no matter what and that since we could not wear one that they wouldn’t work with us. If we had, we would have left immediately, no questions asked. Instead, the owner humiliated us and asked if we were about done so we could leave. Absolutely Unprofessional and rude. I do NOT recommend this tattoo shop as it seems they do not need your money or care for any other customers..

Jeremy does amazing work.. my sister and I got matching tattoos years ago but I remember him saying “I won’t do two tattoos the same” meaning even though we share the same tattoo he made each one slightly different and unique in it’s own way so it is yours. Also, Jamie is phenomenal at hair. Very incredible and talented people who love what they do!

I had to go in for a dumb reason. I needed someone to help me put my industrial bar back in. So I walked in on Sunday afternoon and Mandy said she was happy to help! The shop is very clean and Mandy is so nice! She was able to get my bar back in after having to re-pierce one of the holes and also gave me some great advice for taking care of my piercing! I will definitely be coming back! Thanks again Mandy!

Walked in today and asked for the starting point tattoo for a traditional sleeve. Wes provided excellent feedback and his work was nothing less than stellar. I will return periodically until the piece is finished. The shop was clean and everyone was friendly and helpful.

One of my ear piercings had closed up. He thought it may not be totally closed up, but it was. He very quickly re-pierced it and I was on my way. (Cost was only $30)

So I tried to use Rick after seeing some of his work. Booked an appointment, paid my deposit, and actually came in to discuss my tattoo during the first session. After the discussion, he asked if he could have some time to put together the things we talked about. 100% fine with me and actually respected that.. A few days passed he texted asking if I seen the tattoo he sent over by text. I never received a picture. Asked him to either resend or email, no response. Waited a few days, I texted again asking for an update, no response. Sent an email inquiring and still no response.. A couple of days later I called, ignored the call, just to text to say Ill send a picture after work.. guess what? No response.. I gave up and told him to keep the $100 deposit. Didnt make sense to get a lifetime tattoo from someone who wont even respond or you have to chase down..... Im sure Ill get backlash from the business, but tothing against the entire shop at all, Im sure theres some dope artists there.

Great people told Andy what I wanted he created it was better than I was thinking I love it everyone that sees it loves it including my 85 year old mother in law definitely recommend them they make you feel like family

Ive followed my artist through many of his endeavors. Cycling through the years with him and watching him grow into his own masterful style. The Lotus is a sign of longevity and I know Dark Lotus will help sprout other artistic styles that will be admired throughout the history, present and future of Kansas City and its surrounding areas.There exists a culture of acceptance and inclusion by the artists here that cant be replicated without years of patience, hardships, loss and ultimately acceptance. There is beauty not only in the work done here, but also in the minds of the crew.

This place is absolutely amazing! The staff are extremely knowledgeable,sanitary,patient & friendly! Tanner not only did my tattoos, but he also invested the time,thought & consideration with the idea/creation of my tattoo. Vry thorough,sat with my & went the whole design well & I couldnt be more pleased! Ill never go anywhere else! If youre lookn to get a tattoo or piercing, I cant imagine anywhere better!

I went in to get my lip pierced and had an amazing experience. Phil is an excellent piercer. It took him about a minute from start to finish. I barely felt it and was surprised how quick it was. Everyone there is very welcoming. Im an amputee and Phil put a tattoo sticker on my prosthetic leg, giving me my first tattoo. ;) Then Jeremy Latta, the owner, offered to tat up my my prosthetic leg. As soon as I get my new prosthetic, Ill be back in for him to do so. I had a very kick ass experience and now I wont go anywhere else for any of my piercing or tattoo needs. Had some work done by Wess. It was my first time going to Dark Lotus, having gone to a couple of other area shops. They were accommodating, professional, and the work turned out amazing. I’m very happy with the experience and highly recommend DL if you’re looking at getting some ink.

First time getting a tattoo so I didnt know what to expect, but was very impressed. Shop was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Armond did an amazing job! I went during an off time and didnt have an appointment. I thought Id make an appointment in person and show them what I wanted. I was pleasantly surprised they could get me in so quickly and I got exactly what I wanted. Many thanks to Armond and crew.

For starters the shop is super inviting, the people are very nice and explain every detail. I appreciated how patient Darron was when drawing out my tattoo to perfection. I love the placement and the shape, but as it is healing I am noticing some shaky lines and they are really obvious..... The only other reason this isnt getting 5 stars is because my tattoo was overly expensive, it was $100 for a line that is a total of 2 inches in length (not actually mad about the price, he told me prior and I couldve gone somewhere else, but chose to stay because the owners cousin is my friend and recommended the place).. Just still confused at how that doesnt meet the minimum?? I hate being taken advantage of, so I hope that wasnt the case here.

If looking to get pierced, I highly recommend getting pierced by Mandy Jo. Shes the only person I will let pierce me. She absolutely knows what shes doing and she gets it done fast, correct and with the least amount of pain as is possible. Shes done my tongue, septum, nostril, horizontal lip and tragus and they all look fantastic. You wont regret getting pierced by her!

I got 3 small outline tattoos that only took a total of 25 min here for $150. My 2 new tattoos that I got elsewhere are larger and took way more time and they only charged half that. I have lines that are a bit bumpy but don’t even want to bother going back there for touch ups. I would especially not recommend this for someone’s first tattoo experience. I don’t like to leave negative reviews for places but I had to in this case.

When I walked in, my consultation started off a little rude but got better. I only got 3 words that took a total of 20 minuets. I was charged $120 and felt like it was overpriced. My tattoo looks fine, but I was not impressed with the staff. I was not told my artists name and was not givin any after care instructions, even though he was informed that it was my first tattoo. My artist seemed to be lazy and unintrested. Before leaving I had to ask him to cover my tattoo. Upon leaving, I realized that I was covered in ink. I would not recommend this place to any people wanting their first tattoo.

Ive always gotten the best treatment from Jeremy and Chris. They are both badass tattoo artists, and I get tons of compliments every day for the sleeve Jeremy did for me. Best tattoo shop in the Midwest!!

I came to dark lotus in dec with a chicken scratch plan for a full sleeve plus. Durring my consultation appointment jeremy was patient and communicated well. I conveyed the concepts and allowed Jeremy to design and layout the tattoo. The total design took 31 hours over 5 settings to complete. The work is detailed, clean, and flows well. Thanks. I would recommend hands down.

Usually I don’t post bad reviews but this experience was so terrible for the money I was charged. I came in to get matching tattoos with my mom. They were elephants and Armond was our artist. First of all, I explained that we wanted them to be the size of our wrist. He then draws up a very large tattoo that would fit across our forearm and gets upset when he has to stencil it again. He then places the newly stenciled elephants (way way too small) facing outward on my mom’s wrist. I told him that we wanted them facing towards us (with the hopes of him to re-stencil maybe being a little bigger). He raises his voice and says “No no, we aren’t changing anything” and goes off on a huge tangent that kids these days don’t know anything and that we would be back in to get them covered up because we would decide that we didn’t like them facing that way etc. etc. He was completely rude, unwelcoming, and made the whole experience not a pleasant one at all. I understand his reasoning and his advice but at the same time, I was paying him to do the work and it IS most certainly my body and my tattoo. So, I have since gotten the elephants, which were poorly done by the way (not centered on the wrist, head looked like a triangle) covered up and plan to get them my other wrist by another artist. If they’ll even do them as small as Armond did because I have learned that you’re NOT supposed to tattoo that small. Dark Lotus lost my business and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Disappointed with my treatment and my tattoo, for the price it was. My friends tattoo was beautiful, but my was severely disappointing and for the same price.Update:My tattoo was not fixed. It was thickened and I was told I would need to pay for another appointment to fix the rest. Asked for a refund and was laughed at because I left with the work. Severely disappointed and will be going elsewhere for a cover up

This place was extremely busy when I showed up for my appointment but I was treated like I was the only person there.I have patronized this place many times for tattoos piercings and even hair cuts. Everyone here is a professional I would recommend them.

I had an ink blow out from a previous tattoo and my artist did a great job fixing it. He sat down and talked about options and he made some great suggestions. He did an awesome job fixing what was a disaster tattoo to now one of my faves. I will be going back to get more work done by him!!

Dark lotus is bad ass. They are the best tattoo place in the northland. Their new location in Liberty Mo off Mill street in the old Dairy Queen is so cool. I recommend if you want ink come here.

Place is clean, well kept, and decorated like a Tattoo shop should be.Im 49 years old, and I decided to get my wifes 1st initial Tattooed on my ring finger.Owner gave my to the shop apprentice, who showed me his portfolio and the stencil he wanted to use. I liked it and told him to proceed.It turned out bad, real bad. Doesnt look like the stencil I was shown.So now Im soaking it in hot water, wrapping it up with Neosporine, and using facial scrub to try and remove or fade this tattoo enough so another artist can try and fix it.

The lady who did our piercings was incredibly nice, and did a great job. 10/10 would come again, and would recommend. Thank you Mandy Jo!!

I had an MRI that morning & my nose ring had to be out. Im not good at getting it back in, so I stopped at Dark Lotus to see if they could put it back in for me. She was fantastic & I was in & out in 5 min.

Worst experience in a piercing/tattoo parlor Ive ever had. I went in to get help switching out my nose ring. The lady was extremely rude. She broke my jewelry and then proceeded to tell my the gauges on my two pieces of jewelry didnt match up so she would need to stretch my hole. Ive been switching between those two pieces for years. She did it anyway after being extremely rude about it when I asked. She broke my jewelry, didnt even put the same kind I had back in and traumatized my nose and was extremely rude the entire process.

Stay away from the big, bald guy wes hes new to tattooing and it shows bad and hurts hes got a bad heavy hand i was in so much pain the whole time it was unreal i knew he was un experiencd just by the way he tattooed come to find out the owner said hed been tattooing for 6 months! Owners nice but i had a bad experience with his artist.

Dont believe the crap that Mojo Rizen is saying on the other review here... If you look at their google plus page, their recent posts are just bashing on several local shops, including a Nissan dealership and a Doctors Office. I guess Mojo is just one of those people....However, Jeremy does the best tattoos in the city, as far as Im concerned. He is more than willing to do a custom tattoo and always listens to customer input. Some of the best portrait work I have seen in the city, and did I mention their badass website???!

I was told when I received my tattoo and also when I called about my touch up, that it would be free or is usually free and when I drove all the way to the shop after being told this, I was charged 60 bucks for a touch up because of their mistakes.

Their communication is terrible. I booked for 6 PM, put down a deposit and when I got there no one was there. (Sign said open til 8) Then I was told I was put down for 4pm when I told Mandy I could not do 4 because I would still be at work. Needless to say we did not have work done there and will not.

Im horrible about pain, but Andy C was able to not only with around my squirming, but he fixed the wacky lines the original tattooer did. I shouldve just went to him in the first place!
