Sin on skin tattoo and piercing

We originally came to get my daughters ears piercings and she was terrified from a horrible experience at Claires. The tech that did her ears was AMAZING he provided her with reassurance talked to her through the whole process. I then came back for their Friday 13ths sale and it also was a good experience.

I got piercings done here and a tattoo. They were both fast and to the point (which I love ) I had a design for my tattoo that other artist refused to do Brian adapted it to what best fit my body and it’s a tattoo I will forever cherish ! Thanks so much !

Extremely overpriced for their work, and they are also very rude people especially the lady Jen or Jennifer. I wanted my tattoo slightly smaller and the guy just wouldn’t do it so I settled for it being bigger than my preference, my friends tattoo that she got done by him was also written backwards. My most recent experience we left and as we were going out the door the guy proceeded to say “stay lost”. Overall very unprofessional people and would not recommend going here.

Very bad attitudes. The work they do is great no doubt, but there is absolutely no need for the amount of disrespect shown to customers. a simple “no im sorry” would suffice if there was a problem with anything. But it almost feels like these people will go out of their way to be disrespectful. Would not recommend as a first time place if you want to feel welcomed.

Absolutely phenomenal work and a great atmosphere shop was clean staff were very respectful. Brian did a phenomenal job on my tattoo and Kevin did a phenomenal job on my girlfriends tattoo as well Ill definitely be back

They Did a great job. They just weren’t that friendly. My daughter and I came kinda of late in the day so maybe that was the reason. She got her Eyebrow pierced and it came out great no bruising or anything. I’m definitely gonna take her back. .

Just went there today for a nose peircing and it was amazing!! Not many people were there so I was in and out in less than an hour. Super quick and informative on peircing care. It was very quick, sterile, and somewhat painless, Ill definitely return for more peircings!!

Took my daughter to get her ears pierced. They were quick and efficient. Her ears are healing well and she’s happy w her piercings. She is wanting to go again once her report card comes home! I told my 11 year old in 5th grade, only one C and she could get her 3rd ear piercing! It’s good motivation, for her to keep her grades up! I’m happy, she’s happy!

We took our two daughters, nine and ten, to get their ears pierced. The staff was professional, courteous, and informative. They took us back as soon as we got there and explained to the kids the process. After the piercings were done, they explained the maintenance for the next few weeks. The facility was clean and organized. I works recommend them to other parents looking to get their kids ears pierced. Great experience!

My firs time coming into this tattoo shop. Not only was they quick to take care of me. We was able to bounce ideas from each other. I definitely will be coming here for my tattoos.

Too high priced for the artwork done, they were supposed to do my husband’s tattoo after mine and because he (the tattoo artist) was impatient and couldn’t wait. He bumped him out of the way and didn’t end up getting a tattoo done! Rushed through the tattoo and very unprofessional! The wife who works there also is very loud, and obnoxious. I would definitely choose somewhere else to spend $150 on a tattoo.

Walked in there Saturday right at 12 PM. Was greeted by Gavin, the only person working today. Got right down to business in the room. Got it all prepared and stuff as he needed and began tattooing me. Very friendly. My entire family was in the room at one point and he did not get distracted one time. Was friendly to everybody. Amazing personality, very kind and easy to work with. I tipped $20 and he was more than grateful. Recommend Sin on Skin 100%. I also had my first piercing done back in May of 2022. Brian did it. Very quick and easy.

We took our 14 year old daughter and her 2 friends to celebrate her birthday by getting her second ear piercings. This was a big mistake. After providing the correct documents, filling in our information and signing a waiver in multiple spots (front and back), we were refused service unless we signed the blank that allowed Sin on Skin TO TAKE PICTURES OF OUR DAUGHTER AND USE THEM FOR WHATEVER PURPOSES THEY WANTED. The 2 staff members became hostile/aggressive toward me when I explained why I was not going to sign that specific section of the waiver. They were unwilling to have a reasonable discussion about it. Sadly, the 3 girls were upset and even a little scared (while the man was aggressively speaking to me, he spontaneously reached out and touched my daughter’s ear.) It ended up being a great teaching experience for the kids.We left and went to Claire’s and had such a fun time. Katelyn at Claire’s was so kind and professional!

They were awesome with my 16 yr old daughter getting her first tattoo. They are great group of people and would highly recommended anyone to go.

I went there yesterday to get my nose pierced both of the men there were very nice and gave me a good laugh. They have wonderful piercings and I have plans on returning. Everything was clean and sterilized it was my first time getting a face piercing and Brian was very comforting and reassuring. It hurt for a spilt second but wasn’t very painful at all. The pricing was very reasonable. I’m planning on coming back to get the other side of my nose!

Brian did a great job piercing my 10 months olds ears (3 weeks ago)! He and the lady at the front were very kind, patient and informative on the after care.

My family brought our 5 year old here yesterday evening to get her ears pierced. We got there a little before closing (oops, not our intention) and were in and out just shortly after closing. Brian did her ears, and did a fantastic job. My daughter was at ease, nervous but excited, and never cried. I was impressed with the cleanliness and sterile environment, and he explained to my daughter the steps of what he was doing so she was in the loop. I’d recommend to anyone 👍🏻

After moving to Virginia only a few weeks ago, i did a lot of research as to where to go to get my nose pierced. this place came up with really good reviews, so i decided to give it a chance. when i arrived everyone was friendly, made great conversation and didn’t hesitate to crack a joke. the few bad reviews made me a little skeptical, however any of the people in that place would’ve easily cut out the jokes if told they were making someone uncomfortable. the piercer made me very comfortable (i cant remember his name), he changed the placement several times before putting the needle through to make sure it was in a perfect spot. he made sure to give me very in detail instructions on how to clean the piercing and what to do if something goes wrong. he was friendly, funny, had great dad jokes and i’d recommend him to anyone.

Went here for my tattoo today. The whole process went so smooth. Made sure I was happy with the placement and size. I was in and out in no time. Will definitely be returning for future tattoos. Thanks again

Top tier. My first tattoo. Brian was excellent, professional, but NOT so professional that he was cold. He was friendly, personable, and gave his opinions and suggestions on my design respectfully, and I dont regret going with his advice. The work came out great, and he was surprisingly gentle about it. Funny guy, by the way.Edited, realized I made it sound like dude was cold, not at all the case. Dude was super chill.

Not nice people. I just needed a piece of jewelry installed, which I bought from them, and they made me feel like I was getting on their nerves. I won’t go back.

Me an my wife have been coming here since there last location, an we both love it, LC has been our artist every time an we highly recommend him! Everyone there is awesome! I have many other tattoos that i have gotten from other places an this place is the one that sticks out. They follow procedures an are very sterile, which is a major factor for me.

I took my daughter to the Friday 13th sale, not planned, at got there at 9. It was crazy hectic! We waited 2.5 hours. Got my daughter piercing &was outa there! The owner Brian is very nice. His daughter that helped park cars outside was sweet. The place was packed and ppl had fun! Thats all that matters? Right!? 🖤 oh very nice place too!

I got my nipples pierced here on the 13th special and I love them! The guy was very knowledgeable and talked me and my friend through it. His family is so welcoming and makes you feel at home! Such a great experience!

Honestly, I dont see how anybody can leave a bad review about this place. People have to understand hes going to be busy it is a business. When I went to get my daughters ears pierced, he was gentle but quick. We had a good experience with this business. It was very clean in the business as well.

Got my nose pierced here and I was very satisfied. The guy that works there is always so funny. I actually know the family of the shop and they are the nicest people you will ever meet in your life. The guys kids that are sometimes around are so sweet especially the twins 💜... I really give this family props on what they do. Not only because I know them but because they are excellent at what they do, I give them a 5 star review

Brian pierced my daughters septum. He was beyond wonderful. Extremely informative and funny. Made her feel comfortable. Highly recommend. Extremely professional and clean!

HORRIBLE!! My friend and I went in tonight for her tattoo and had no option but to leave after Brian’s sexism, offensive comments about his body parts, and rudeness. He made us extremely uncomfortable and I am appalled at the experience. He was annoyed with my friend for her taking time to pick out a font, told her she was hard to please because she was a woman, and made us uncomfortable by harassing us and being demeaning. Soooo glad we left before he tattooed her. Horrible service and I am so upset with this experience. Would not recommend at all.

Awesome tattoo shop! Very clean & professional!! Bryan is amazing & I was extremely pleased with him. Butttt his wife.... she’s a different story! If I hadn’t already put down over 100$ on appointments before I met her I would have walked out & never given them my business. She was cussing & screaming at her husband acting absolutely hateful & embarrassing.... My jaw was dropped at the way she was acting in her place of business. & even after biting my tongue and being as nice & respectful as can be she was still rolling her eyes at everything I said & being down right hateful!!! & the times I met her after she was still rude & short with me. I was truly feared she’d come in, in the middle of me getting work & throw a fit & mess him up & he mess me up. Her attitude is bad for business & I wish y’all nothing but the best.

Hear me out, Im not saying that the piercer was a bad piercer or a bad guy. The shop and staff themselves were very nice and accommodating. However I do wish somebody would have told me that apparently I have a deviated septum before giving me a septum piercing and only having it turn out very much lopsided .

Let me get my ears and navel pierced even though they were close to closing, super nice people. Was brutally honest about how much it would hurt, which I appreciated. Did a good job on my piercings, highly recommend. :)

Im only giving them one star only because it wont let me post without a star. Just left this place after waiting 2 1/2 hours for a nose piercing. First one of the tattoo artist told a woman that he wasnt doing her tattoo because she asked why they were taking people in front of her. Then another woman asked the same question after being there for 3 1/2 hours and was told by the manager that he didnt care that they were taking people in front of her and to leave his shop. Both of these woman just asked a simple question and neither one of them were rude. I dont know if they were overwhelmed or what considering they were crowded, but that is no way to run a business. Both men were as ignorant as it gets and thats why I left.

Went in on a short notice, and they were able to see us that day. Very good pricing, 50 for 30 minutes or 75 for an hour. Will be going back, owner was super nice; a little distracted by his phone but once he started doing work he was very focused and professional.

I was traveling the next day and really wanted to get a new tattoo done. I visited these guys and I am glad I did. The other big studios were too busy all the time but these gentlemen got me in and were very professional. Clean and respetable establishment and they made sure everything was exactly as I wanted. Reasonable prices and hassle free. I would highly recommend Sin on Skin and I know that when I need more work done Ill be back.

These guys are Great!The Awsome thing was September is $50 an hour,very pleased.

I waited in my car for 20 min until they finally came out. I showed him a picture and said he could do it. He went back and forth inside. Constantly brining something to big out. Very frustrating. It was a very simple tattoo. I respect that he declined doing because he was uncomfortable. But I would have appreciated it up front instead of wasting my time. Also very unprofessional there.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SHOP! I have a lot of piercings, all of which were done at one of the best piercing shops in the South (Sadu in CLT). I wish I could give four and a half stars, and I may even augment this review to five stars when I go back in to have my jewelry adjusted. My criticisms are minimal.I had them reinstall a horseshoe barbell in my septum, for a preexisting piercing Ive had for about six years. They were very quick, very efficient, and have absolutely stellar pricing. My only complaint is that the spacing adjustment the man did on my new barbell was a little wide for my face. It is an easy fix, and again not a reason not to use this shop. While I could say that I wish they spent a little more time discussing things with you, I do like that they keep cost low by being efficient.Again, this is really a 4.5 star review. Try this shop, they are the best thing a big city boy from Charlotte has found in the area - much better than any shop Ive been to in CVille, Roanoke, or Richmond. I think youd have to drive three hours up to DC or three down to CLT to find anything (arguably) better. And itd cost you a lot more money.Dont let the abrupt-ness fool you, they know their craft. Bedside manner, so to say, could be improved upon but its a truly minimal issue if you are familiar with the processes.As someone with 8 piercings, 2 tattoos, and looking to get more of each I again highly recommend this shop.

My wife and daughter had told me that the man that gave her the piercing in her nose was very rude and cause pain to her. Not the piercing but the way he rubbed the area after the piercing. It was rushed and I can verify because it was done in less than 5 min. And then bam out. They could have taken some extra time to gently clean the area. Also a girl that is 17 shouldn’t feel uncomfortable when you look up and down at them several times. Pretty bad if both my wife and my daughter seen it happening. My daughter didn’t want to say anything about it because she was uncomfortable but my wife felt very upset because of it.

Brian is awesome!! As always a great tattoo!! Kevin is nice also going to have to get him to do one.

Staff were unhelpful and aggressive. As a newbie to tattoos, Id really hoped someone would be able to explain the things that arent obvious - instead, I practically got yelled at. I would be extremely uncomfortable with someone who spoke that way to a person possibly about to hand them several hundred dollars, putting a permanent mark on my body.

LC does amazing work. I am very pleased with both my tat and his pleasant personality. 5 stars for him& his work. I havent always had the best service at this shop though.

I don’t recommend spending your time or money here. I came in for the 13 dollar, Friday the 13th promotion in September. Everything was rushed and I was unable to get enough information on the type of piercings I was wanting. I went back in the next weekend to get the piercings and it was disastrous. The first piercing (of my triple forward helix) was the worst. The piercer did not push the needle all the way through, on top of the pain, my ear was pouring blood. I was in so much pain that I was about to pass out. The piercer was continuously trying to rush me and the others who had come along with me, so as I asked for a moment to breathe, he refused. He told me that I needed to calm down and continue letting him pierce me because he was busy. He constantly took breaks between my piercings (as the needle is just laying in me) to talk to other people about tattoos, instead of putting the jewelry in. The three piercings were not even in the right place. They were not even and looked terrible because of the spacing. After the other two piercings were in, he rushed my nose piercing. I was constantly made to feel stupid when I asked questions, and was told that it would be on the aftercare sheet, which did not have the information. After leaving, I immediately had problem upon problem. I had requested that the piercer use a flat backed earring instead of a hoop, to which he refused. When I asked him why it was not common for him to pierce with that jewelry, he immediately got irritated and snarky. I called many other piercing places afterwards, and they all agreed that you are not supposed to put a hoop into a healing piercing. When I called back a few weeks later to see if I could change the jewelry to something else because I was in such throbbing pain, he continued to be snarky. I eventually had to pay another piercer to change my jewelry and take out one of the piercings. My piercings have been unable to heal and have gotten severely infected. My experience has been rushed and absolutely horrible. I would recommend going anywhere else if you want a better piercing experience. I have not felt welcomed or cared for through this healing process. Next time I will trust my gut and go somewhere else.

I had a bad experience here. I came in for a tattoo and brought my friend who wanted a piercing. The artist did my tattoo but there wasnt time to finish it. but I paid the full price he had originally given me, and gave him a $60 tip. We moved on to my friends piercing because he said he had enough time for that. As soon as he clamped her skin she decided she didnt want the piercing because the clamp itself hurt her too much. He then told me I owed him for the piercing he didnt do because he used his clamps on her skin. Despite already getting an extra $60 tip. So we ended up getting half of a $100 tattoo, no piercing, but spending nearly $200. I will not be returning.

Brian treated my nieces,sister and I with such professionalism and made the whole experience enjoyable and fun. Definitely will be going back…

We walked in for a forward helix piercing about an hour before their closing, the studio was very clean and well put together, and the staff was incredibly welcoming & professional. Will definitely be back in the future!

It was great, my mom and I came in kind of late, really close to closing after going to some other places around Lynchburg who were pretty rude, and Brian didnt act put upon like the others and was genuine and very kind, thank you for making my birthday present experience welcoming.

I loved it ! I got my nose pierced almost a week ago and the owner’s energy was so contagious :) My experience was great except i got a liiiittle lightheaded , but otherwise i would totally come back and i know in the future i will ! If there’s any place to get professional piercings it’s this place

Really nice people running the place... Very clean. They get you to fill out your paper work and show your ID outside because of COVID but as soon as I was done with that, they brought me right in to do my piercing.. and they have awesome prices!!

The tattoo artist does the most amazing work. Several of my family have used Brian, the owner. But the filthy language is just inexcusable. Wont be back.

I arrived a few minutes early to spend quite a bit of money and was told I had to wait outside till they opened now I understand closing and opening times vary and that you guys are preparing for the day but whats a few minutes when you have 3 or 4 people in their already its not good customer service that is it how you do business I nor anyone I know or I can speak to will ever come to the shop again no wonder you never have any business because youll suck

Brian did my nose piercing in May, and he literally asked me to hold a giant straw so he didn’t stab my nose. Somehow my piercing turned out fine.

Ive got all my tattoos done here. Very friendly and down to earth folks. My tattoos look great and isnt missing pieces like some artist. Ill sure to return.
