April is professional, clean and creative. She designed a beautiful cover up piece for me. She is welcoming and made me feel comfortable with the piece before we started.Definitely recommend! Even if she is booked, it’s worth the wait!

She is simply AMAZING! A gifted artist and exceptional person. Her professionalism was evident from the beginning. The first step was a lengthy interview to ascertain what I wanted and ensure I understood the process. Next she asked for pictures of Gingy (my recently deceased doggo) to get a glimpse of her personality. The day of the tattoo she devoted the entire day for me. She revealed her design and requested my input. We jammed to music and made sure I was okay throughout the process. To say that she captured the essence of my Gingy doesn’t do justice, she captured her soul. Her attention to detail and ability to execute are admirable. Worth every penny. The aftercare is just as good. She is available to change the dressing and make sure the tattoo is healing well. I wish I could properly articulate how impressed and thankful I am. I had been thinking of getting another tattoo for a while. I wasn’t sure what I really wanted and I wasn’t sure where I wanted to go. I heard about Tanner Tattoo from a co-worker and I got to see firsthand the detail, time, and pride April took in creating his arm piece. I decided to go and consult with April to see if she could help me out. She spent a good hour with me during the consultation, she listened to my ideas and helped me brainstorm what I wanted. I never felt rushed during the consultation and I appreciated that she would throw in some ideas she had and ultimately we came up with a one of a kind piece. April took extra care to make sure all of her equipment was sanitized and cleaned properly. During the process of getting the tattoo she catered to my needs and made sure I was comfortable giving me breaks as needed. Her work is impeccable I am so very happy with my tattoo!! It truly is one of a kind and that’s the great thing about Tanners Tattoos they are all one of a kind pieces!! April really made my vision come to life!! 10/10 would recommend this shop to anyone and would most definitely return for any future tattoos!!

Getting a tattoo is scary and April made me feel safe and made sure I was comfortable at all times. Just finished my year long journey of a colored, full saturation sleeve (less some borders around pre-existing work). I walked into the shop July of 2021 for my consult and told April I want x, y, and z and I dont know how to turn it into a full sleeve. Based on our interaction, I trusted her enough to give her the artistic freedom to draw and design it how she best saw fit. As we pieced everything together, she was very open to my requests. It was a long process due to the amount of work, ink and detail that went into to each part. She asked me at each stage of the process what direction I wanted to go and each time I told her that she is the artist and I put my full trust in her vision. It was absolutely worth the time and money to work with April. Her work is far beyond a walk-in shop that will blast out a grey washed quarter sleeve in 6 hours. My arm is a piece of art. Her knowledge and application of color theory makes the subjects jump off the canvas. I am SO GLAD that I trusted her for such a large piece. It couldnt have come out any better.

The artwork was absolutely BEAUTIFUL.April will explain to you the after-care and provide you a copy of it. She is very thorough and will answer all your questions. This tattoo is a sentimentally important tattoo as it contains my son and is themed around one of my favorite books, The Little Prince, that my French teacher showed me. I knew I loved the tattoo before I got home HOWEVER, I was sitting there staring at a picture of it once I got home and I got pretty emotional over it.April really was able to capture everything beautifully and with a gorgeous composition. April recently finished a sleeve for me, and it turned out better than I ever expected. I have received tattoos from several different artists, and none of them come close to April. She made sure that I was comfortable the entire time, and she was so fun to talk to throughout my sessions. I recently moved to another state, but I would happily drive 500+ miles for more art from her.

April worked with me closely on the design, as it was a memorial design I was very nervous on selecting the right artist to really care about it, but April did just that! Having a piece done by April was an absolute delight. I came in with my family for a set of pieces on my visit from California to Houston. The location is clean, the staff is friendly, and April works hard to make sure you get the best quality piece and top notch service you can get. I gave her an image for the tattoo I wanted, and with her help she made it so so much better than I ever could have imagined. The line work and shading on my piece makes the rest of my tattoos look like they were done by a toddler. Being that I am slightly OCD, I always pay attention to cleanliness and organization. April was spot on in both departments. While she was gathering supplies she opened a drawer that was beautifully organized and I was in awe. Now to the good stuff, she restored a 12 year old tattoo for me. She really has the magic touch and made it so beautiful. She helped keep my mind busy for the 8 hours I was there by playing murder mysteries. I am telling you right now your search is over! April is the artist you need tattooing you. She is patient, cares 110% about her work, and wants to make sure you are comfortable and happy. I did a lot of research before getting my 3rd tattoo because the last one I got was a nightmare. I have yet to read a negative comment about her and when you meet for your consultation you will understand why. She is a super easy going woman who understands people come from all walks of life and she is super grateful when you allow her to be apart of the art that you put on your body. I lost my brother a year ago to that damn Covid - anyway on the year anniversary she gave me a beautiful tattoo in honor of him! He would have loved her and her work as I do. April has tattooed all my pieces but one. She is an amazingly talented woman and fabulous to work with. You can give her an idea and she turns it into a phenomenal piece of art. I wont go anywhere else, and neither should you.

Dishonest and untrustworthy. After signing her contract and paying a $175 deposit, Tanner tattoo denied my request for a tattoo even after multiple attempts through text messaging, emails and phone calls. Ms. Tanner also missed our 1st appointment and did not even give me a courtesy phone call, text or email of her absence. No apology was made and my 40 minute drive to her studio could have been saved through proper communication. Tanner tattoo did not fullfil their contractual obligation for artwork and I do not recommend this business or miss April Tanner. This is a dishonest and untrustworthy person...save your time and money.

My 1st time with April and she absolutely the BEST. It was pretty much my 1st tattoo again (last 1 was 20yrs ago) She educated me and ensured from start to finish I was completely comfortable. I highly recommend her and her work speaks for itself!!!

April is an incredibly talented artist. She managed to take an outline of a tattoo my grandpa got in the 60s and recreate it into a modern masterpiece for me to be able memorate my grandpa! Incredibly comfortable and friendly atmosphere to be in and I cant see myself going anywhere else!

For more than 11 years since my son passed, Ive wanted to get a memorial tattoo. Ive looked at countless ideas and tattoo shops over the years and never found anything that inspired me. I came across Aprils art work and was impressed. A short consultation and she ran with my ideas and made something for me, that completely represents my son. If you knew my son, you would know this was meant for him. So thankful I found her.

Got my cover-up finished today and it turned out better than I could have imagined! My piece was in honor of my grandparents that had passed and April made me a custom piece that I know they would be proud of. I waited years for this tattoo because I was unsure of what I wanted so I left it in Aprils hands to come up with something that had all the parts I wanted and she did just that and its beautiful!
