Let me just start this review with I have been going to Mrs Julie since my 3rd tattoo and 24 tattoos later, I refuse to have anyone else work on me. Not only is her work clean and detailed, she also is very patient and helpful when u ask her. She’s completely non-judgemental. i ask her to incorporate her own style into the design i want, and I highly reccomend telling her that if you get tatted by her because her artistic style just only makes me fall in love with the tattoo that much more.There’s a negative review on here about a bad tattoo cover-up done by Mrs Julie, and I just HAD to comment showing her true skills because of the negative depiction from that review. Bad tattoos and Cover-up ideas will be bad no matter who does that tattoo. If you want to really see Mrs. Julie’s talent, I attached the tattoos i just got today.

Went with a buddy of mine who had reccomended we go get a piece together, and i’m beyond happy with how my new tattoo turned out. Ms. Julie was very fast, sweet and did an amazing job on my first tattoo in over three years, really happy with how this turned out and i will definitely be back!

Got a cute lil belly piercing here 😌 TWICE!! The first time was my fault, I took out the jewelry in the shower and it closed in MINUTES 😭😭 waited a year and went back. Re-pierced the scar tissue, definitely hurt a lil more than the first time but my person was gentle!! Really nice people here.

Went here cause reviews were great and my usual artists wasnt in.dont trust the good reviews sometimes they do great sometimes they do awful.i got two pretty messed up tattoos recently,6 different issues repeatedly made,and they are about both two inch tattoos maybe and cant be outlined for a fix cause itll still look nothing like the show characters die to sizing/mistakes,missing a lot of ink, only two straight lines out of everything,nothing is the correct shape or proportion except one thing,not the right color for one tattoo but was told that color would be corrected before we started,and a few other issues,i hate to even right this cause the artist is amazing and super sweet.but figured i should to warn others that owner doesnt have exceptions to refund policy even if your tattoo is honestly botched,vs a customer trying to get one for a ridiculous reason.So just be aware your tattoo may come out pretty good or pretty awful.it really goes either way after I asked around a lot after this.no disrespect but I wouldnt recommend to anyone.

Didnt seem like a customer friendly place. Just went in with questions about a few things because Im thinking about getting into doing tattoos. Guy smelt like 10lbs of cigarettes and acted like he didnt want to help at all. A professional is who you are supposed to go to especially with things like tattoos if you want the right info. Definitely not the right person to ask apparently.

Some great artists and piercers have come through this place, easy parking, good prices, and knowledgeable staff! I’ve gotten two separate nose piercings from here that both healed magnificently.Really good eating across the street for post-ink sesh. 🤠 AND if your car happens to break down here, you’re also 50 feet away from the best Mechanics in St. Tammany Parish!

Perfectly done hand tat. My artist was GREAT! I also had triple forward helix & my nose pierced. The piercer was cool, professional & did a really good job.The shop is clean. People are friendly. I highly recommend tattooing & piercing!!! :)

I have been waiting for my tattoo to fully heal so I could give a thorough review. I was tattooed by Julie, who was so lovely. I do not live in Mandeville, but was visiting and naturally, I was nervous going to a new studio. My tattoo was of two distinct flowers and I didn’t want color so I was worried it may not be clear what they were. The flowers were for my grandmothers, who I am very close with, so I wanted perfection. She sat with me for at least 30 minutes clarifying what I wanted and drew up a few designs, going above and beyond my expectations, not to mention how accommodating and patient she was. The actual tattooing process took about 45 minutes, of which we made pleasant, easy conversation. The atmosphere really is amazing there and it’s a clean, safe studio. The prices are phenomenal. My previous tattoo was maybe an inch by an inch and this tattoo was at least 6” by 3” and they cost the same. Needless to say, after experiencing a studio that that overcharged for simple work that took five minutes, Abita was a godsend. It’s all female staff and unlike many other places, you don’t feel as if you need to have 85% of your body tatted to be taken seriously. The tattoo healed wonderfully and I have no complaints. Hands down, I would recommend Abita to anyone looking for a tattoo in that area as well as Julie by name.

I went here to get a septum piercing. My piercer, Tess, did an incredible job making me feel comfortable, and the piercing itself was virtually painless! I went back a few days later with my friend to get her septum pierced as well. Both have healed very well and I am looking forward to getting more piercings from Abita Tattoo & Body Piercing!! Very pleased with the service and outcome!

I got my septum pierced and I love it! People there was very nice and helpful very professional. The piercer Tess was very professional and calm even if i fainted in the chair for a few seconds she did an amazing job I highly recommend!!!

We got Ms Evette and she was amazing! We had an incredible experience and our tattoos were perfect and exactly what we were hoping for! We also got to meet her daughters who were really awesome and so sweet and Egypt makes beautiful art! Will be back for more for sure!!

They fit me and my husband into their schedule fairly quick. Each of our tattoos took about 45 minutes. When we left the shop the tattoos looked great. My husband and I have tattoos so we are very capable to the after care but both of them got extremely infected within a day. The line work is terrible (wiggly in some parts with gaps in other parts.) Would not recommend.

Julie is the best tattoo artist. My daughter has been going to her since she was 18 and refuses to go to anyone else.

I’m only giving 2 starts because they at least offered to get me in. I called to see how much a piercing was and to see if they do walk ins or appointments only. The guy on the phone said appointments are preferred, but asked when I wanted to come in. I said I would like to come in tonight, but if I needed to make an appointment I didn’t mind waiting. The guy on the phone asked if I could be at the shop for 6:45 and I said yes. I drove from Folsom to Mandeville and got there at 6:40 and the door was locked. I tried to call to let them know I was there and they ignored the phone and turned the lights off in the shop when we got back in the car and started leaving. That was a waste of gas. I won’t be returning.

I went with a friend of mine who was getting some art. Everyone was very friendly and courteous. They were willing to take some time to figure out a nice piece instead of just throwing something on my friends arm that would look like some half baked idea for a tattoo. Prices were good and staff was nice so he tipped. Good shop. Shout out to Evette

I don’t live in Louisiana, but I work in Mandeville fairly regularly. Last night I got a wild hair and I decided to get another tattoo after almost ten years. I’ve had a lot going on in my life lately, and I wanted to hold myself accountable for balancing work and life outside of work....so I came up with something that had a lot of meaning to me. Smokey Bear & Tom Petty’s lyric from “Wildflowers”. Bless Ms. Evette for bringing it to life and for her patience too. She really cared about making sure that I had something beautiful that was beautifully done too and stayed in my budget even though I know the piece was worth more than we discussed. Tip your artists y’all, they deserve it. The folks here have to be the most caring artists I’ve ever met, and I so appreciate their tireless dedication. If you want a wonderful & memorable experience, take my recommendation and skip NOLA proper and have your tattoo done at Abita. You won’t be disappointed.

Went here to get my daith repierced. I got both sides done at a different shop and they pierced one crooked so I took it out. I let Tess know I wanted it to match. She took her time and measured it out and everything. It came out perfect. Great little shop with people who care how your piercings turn out. Thanks, Tess!

These people tat run this shop are vile and evil. I walked in just to talk to someone about having a consultation and was met with negative energy as soon as I passed their threshold. I was told that they were booked until august, which by the looks of their shop was laughable. When I left and got in my truck to leave one of the employees even harassed me why I was taking so long to leave the parking lot. This is a terry place run by terrible people I would not recommend it to anyone

The only reason I am giving two stars is because Ive seen good work done here before. However, my father went to get a wedding band done on his finger and two days after getting the tattoo, all of the ink had come out. Black lines should not be able to fade that much or that fast.

They did a quote on my shoulder a few yrs ago and I still love it. They were very professional and the writing came out amazing. I was even told by a few that it couldnt be real because the writing was to neat lol. Am thinking about getting another and I will be going back to them for it.

Went to get a naval piercing, the lady put the needle in way too deep. On top of that, she suggested I get a ring to start with, which I didn’t know any better. The new piercing cannot heal properly and has started to get infected because of it.

So happy with my experience. When I walked in, everyone was so nice and inviting. Great prices. Great people. Great atmosphere. Will be returning for future tattoos and piercings!

Ok. Ive been to many tattoo and Piercing shops. This place is by far the worst. Several of my friends have been there for tattoos and they ALL have faded to a lite Grey shade. Im talking about names, line work in general. And the damn piercings... Wow just do yourself a favor and stop supporting what ever kind of drugs these people are on. Go anywhere else. Turning point, Covington Tattoo Emporium, either is the better choice
