Burning River Tattoo

I have had many pieces done at Burning River, Dan has done all of them and they’ve all turned out perfect. Today’s visit didn’t disappoint, Dan does amazing work, he is a true artist who truly cares about his work, his passion shines through in all his tattoos. I won’t go anywhere else!

Absolutely amazing. Calm and relaxing environment. Easy to chat with about anything. I needed my tattoo therapy and I got it. I had a vision in my mind and it came to life!! Thank you!!

Dan has done such great work on all of my art Ive had him. He did work on my husband, daughter and brother in law. I would recommend Burning River to anyone who asks. Great work all around.

Got my nose pierced today. Dan was great and so sweet and polite. Of course I felt like I was going to pass out/throw up (I figured this would happen, it’s just how I am). He let me take my time to where I felt better. Very cute and cozy atmosphere and a comfy couch to wait on. Great place! Thanks Dan.

Melissa did my finger tatts as an apprentice today! She did amazing. Very thorough and patient. Very professional. I also met Dan, the owner. At least I think that was his name. He told me probably twice and Im terrible with names so I apologize if I got it incorrect. He was also incredibly nice. Incredibly professional and Im definitely coming back. In fact, Im recommending this to anybody who asks me if they should go here. Im going to tell people who didnt ask as well. I also have a podcast and a show which Im going to shout them out on. They took me as a walk-in. This is something thats also very hard to find. I appreciate you all. Keep it up. P.s. I had to come back in and edit this to add this part. This is a very clean shop. The aesthetic is on point. Very clean.

I cannot recommend Burning River Tattoo more! Not only is Dan an amazing artist who does some of the most beautifully detailed and thought out pieces of art, but he cares about his clients - I had had ALOT of cover up work done in a 3 week span of time and he cared more about my health by telling me to take some time off and let my body heal before continuing; which is rare now a days where folks care just about money to have someone care about their clints over money. Everyone at Burning River are truely good people. And the tattoos I have done there are out of this world detailed and beautiful. 1000% recommend and cannot wait to continue my tattoo journey with these folks!

Where do I start!!! The owner of this company is one of the most horrible tattoo owner/artist!!! I sent him a picture of a tattoo I wanted! He charged me 400 which I was fine with. Day I go in to get tattood he kept stopping answer the phone and then went and made me sit on the couch so he can do a piercing. the design was not at all what I gave him. It looked like a prison tattoo but I was under the assumption that a lot of shaming was gonna take place because of the way the design was he was gonna do a lot of freehand stuff. He was using the stencil as a template. I wish a lot of tattoo artist do., but then a whole bunch of people came in and I was not going to cause a scene. When he told me I was done I looked down at my tattoo, and I was shocked to the core. so I handed the money and when I got home I messaged him I said my tattoo looks horrible. I have lots of tattoos I’m covered in tattoos. I know how to take care of tattoos. I’ve never had anybody do a tattoo that I did not request for six months. I have been messaging him for him to correct it, he kept telling me this day this day this day never replied messages finally last Friday I said I’m coming to your shop and get it done at 3 PM the following Friday we both agreed today I messaged him I said if you’re not doing anything can I come in now I was able to get out I work a little bit earlier he went out of state. He said I have you on the books for tomorrow I’m like oh you need to read five messages because you don’t know what you’re doing He has the gentleman that works there, redo my tattoo to the best that they were able to do! they were not able to correct the design, but they made it look better than a jailhouse tattoo! He does not know what he’s doing or he doesn’t care! I’m not sure which one it is. This was a design that my children picked out my children paid for for Christmas for me. If you go here, do not go to him. There is way better shops around that are a lot more compassionate a lot more understanding, customer service skills this man lack them. The whole reason why I went to the sky was because of the reviews I’m shocked, shocked to the core that he has this many good reviews. The owner better pay that gentleman for doing my tattoo.

These guys are amazing and skilled at what they do. They are also vary kind and considerate. Definitely coming back.

I have been going to Burning River Tattoo in Medina (Dan Hatcher) since April 2023 and have been happy with all of the work Dan has done. I have had 20 tattoos done in the past 11 months after not having any! Dan is patient & kind. His studio is clean & inviting. I look forward to working with him on more in the future!

Got a great tattoo of an astronaut on my forearm last year. It still looks brand new. Great atmosphere in the shop and Hatcher is always a pleasure to deal with.

Most unprofessional tattoo shop Ive ever been in. I was Hatchers apprentice for a WEEK, after I spent my own money on tattoo needles for HIM to use and he made me drive an hour there and an hour back. It has been over a month and a half, after he texted me that it wasnt going to work out, with no explanation why, and I STILL havent been reimbursed. He uses AI to design his tattoos just to charge $175 per hour to do. He is unprofessional with communication, and he scams people of their money. I just wanted to learn how to tattoo, but apparently he just wants someone to do errands for him. This is how he treated an apprentice, another human being. Absolutely ridiculous. You can get lovely artwork done that wasnt created by ai for a better price somewhere else.Edit: After he replied to my review, I reached out to him again just like he asked, still got nothing. He knows what he can do to correct it, but chooses not to.

Dont waste your time or money. Takes your money and doesnt do the work after paying in full. After 7 months of dealing with him, less than 50% completed over a seven month span. @DanCarr (@Hatcher) is undependable, slow, cuts appointment times short, and constantly cancels appointments. Youll be better off going to one of the other two tattoo shops across the street.Areas that he did do have missed shading, spots in outlines that are missing or barely there, along with shading that is spotty and barely there already.Do your research and then ask yourself why is it that someone that has been doing this as long as he says he has, only has about a dozen pic of his work available. If you find Burning River Tattoo on Facebook, ask yourself why there are more pics a flash posted than his work.Details of interaction: Spoke with Dan about doing a full sleeve in Sept 2023 and started this sleeve in Sept 2023. He wanted to be paid up front for the entire sleeve, which I did do. Appointments were scheduled one week at a time and were supposed to be for 2 hours. The appointments were always shortened to between an hour or an hour and a half, which would include 2 to 3 breaks. On two occasions, my appointment was paused so that someone else could be taken care of, and then the appointment would still end early. There was a 50/50 chance the appointment was valid or not. I had a total of 8 canceled appointments. Then, on top of that, he paused appointments, causing an additional 2 month delay. Dan has to be the most undependable person I have ever done business with.As for the tattoo... slowest tattoo person Ive ever interacted with. I had 4 appointments for something that could have taken someone else a couple hrs or just one session. This part of my sleeve still isnt finished, along with 4 other items that were started and not finished. I finally had to walk away with an unfinished sleeve that I paid in full for because of yet another canceled appointment spanning across 7 months (making 9 cancelations)... Not even 50% of the sleeve is complete after 11 appointments. After indicating that I can no longer do this anymore because of the canceled appointments, Dan did reach out and only offered a fraction of a refund but indicated it would take weeks before he would have it. He then sent me screenshots from his schedule of our appointments only to see he lied about all of our appointment time lengths in his schedule. Now, Im left with less than half of a completed sleeve and have to go to someone else to fix/finish.Save yourself the headache and your money by going elsewhere.

Dan is amazing! He is extremely professional and willing to do whatever is needed for his clients. 10/10 will be back to see Dan!

Disappointing to say the least. I scheduled an appointment for this past Saturday to receive a tattoo and paid the deposit. I showed up for the appointment and was told to come back the very next day because it appeared there was a double booking. I then came back the next day, and almost reached the shop only to be told it needed to be pushed back two hours. I live 45 minutes away and made two trips on two different days to be canceled/rescheduled. I have the entire conversation saved. I am not an individual that would typically leave a review, but I gave opportunity to have this matter resolved by simply asking for my deposit back so I could go elsewhere. I was told that I would receive my deposit Monday and did not. I am extremely upset and I will not recommend this place to anyone.

I have gotten five tattoos now from Hatcher the work is awesome his creativity and his eye for detail are great Ill keep going back for more

Just got a tattoo done by Dan, super impressed! This was my first tattoo ever and was decently sized. He is very calm, cool, and collected which helped the process go smoothly. He is also super professional, nice, and knowledgeable.As a nurse, infection control and asepsis were a big concern for me. He has excellent habits and you can tell best methods are integrated into his practice. Art was phenomenal as well!

Just went for my first tattoo and got the inside of my forearm covered. They gave me excellent service, helped me manage the pain and made sure it was took my liking the whole way through.

The staff seemed nice and the environment was comfortable; I think for a tattoo it would be a good place to go. I went in for a septum piercing (my first non-ear piercing), however, and it was not great. No explanation was given about the process before or aftercare afterwards; I had to rely on google and my friend to know how to care for my piercing to help it heal. The piercing wasnt marked or mapped out beforehand, it was done while I was just sitting upright, and no clamp was used. The needle had to be pushed through twice because of the piercing not being able to be threaded through the first time. My piercer didnt even tell me what gauge or diameter he was using, and the one I have seems really small and off-center, and I dont know if the latter is because of the size of the jewelry, my nose, or how it was pierced. Im just really hoping it will heal correctly and that it will look right once I can put in a larger diameter.Edit a couple of hours later: downgrading from two stars to one because now Im going to have to get my piercing redone. I made an appointment with a certified piercer to take a look at my septum, and she confirmed my fear that it was not pierced correctly. The piercing was through the cartilage, hence the intense pain and off location. She had to remove it for me and once my nose is less tender Im going to go back to her to have it done correctly like I should have in the first place. Absolute waste of $40 - I guess you really do get what you pay for. Look elsewhere for piercings, this was not worth it and an awful experience.

I went to Burning River Tattoo for a half sleeve tattoo. The artist (Dan) was great! He captured what I envisioned perfectly. The studio was very clean, and the receptionist was friendly and welcoming. I also love that the studio offers so many services (tattoos, piercings etc). I will definitely be going back.

Piercing was done in wrong location and got infected was told by a piercing only studio his care information was wrong the material used was wrong and missed wher it was supposed to be absolutely do not get a piercing here

My 19 year old son and myself made appointments for a tattoo with Hatcher (Dan). Walking into the shop I noticed right away it was clean, the 2 guys there were super nice and welcoming, and my son seemed relaxed, which was great since it was his first tattoo. I messaged Hatcher back and forth about what we were looking for, and he totally knocked it out of the park. We are super happy with how our memorial tattoos came out for our beloved dog, Jack. I will be going to them again for all my future tattoos.

Dan is a great tattoo artist,. You can tell he has years of experience under his belt. His shop is not your normal tattoo shop. It has this vintage almost gothic feel. The prices are very reasonable.

I had my nose piercing changed. The guys were very friendly and professional. The shop is very clean and pleasant surroundings. I will recommend them.

Went it yesterday to get my daughters ears pierced, he was so patient and explained to them so they could understand what was going on! I would for sure recommend getting your kids ears done here!
