Alright so! I actually got matching tattoos with my bf here over a year ago the girl that did our tattoos did a great job! But today I called during the day that I wanted to get my naval pierced the guy told me they closed at 9 all good told him I’d be there around 8! Around 7ish I call and this girl tells me the latest she will wait is 8:40! 7:58 comes, I’m already on my way and she calls me to tell me they’re closing early… and she can’t be alone at the shop… I never write reviews but I had to cause I called twice as a heads up to make sure they would be available and all times they said yes and as I’m headed there they say they closing early… why promote 2pm - 9pm if you actually close at 8pm.

Hours and hours spent at this shop. Guy is a true professional with more than 25 years exp. When he took over the shop I was happy to know a real New Yorker carries on this shops true blue New Yorker legacy.

I accompanied a friend to get her vertical labret repierced on 6/20. Almost immediately there were red flags because the piercer was uneducated on what a vertical labret was and kept referring to it as an Ashley piercing. I myself have a vertical labret, so we showed her mine for reference. Additionally, my friend already has a scar where it was originally pierced so you’d think it would make placement easier. Afterwards it was very clear how INCORRECT the placement was because the top ball of the jewelry was hitting my friends top lip & teeth. Vertical labrets should not hit your teeth at all, as they are supposed to be centered in the middle of the bottom lip. This caused issues as my friend couldn’t even laugh or talk properly without the jewelry getting bumped. I called on her behalf asking if a refund was a possibility because this was the piercers mistake, not my friends, and was met with hostility from the piercer. At the very least an apology was due, yet we didn’t get that NOR did we get a refund because they “don’t offer that”.

Got almost all my tattoos from Guy and shading, blending, and line work is perfect. He’s definitely the man to go to !!!!

The worst tat studio i’ve ever beenovercharged artist “Guy” was sucha slobmade laughable comment for me paying credit card bc scam wanted cash onlytat was healing foreverno proper cleaning supplies etc

I am lost for words, these guys are amazing. Guy did my dog portrait and its perfect, John did my forearm and I am just as happy and amazed. Great shop amazing artist and staff

The laziest and worst shop I have ever been to. I paid a really unfair amount plus the tattoo was awfully ugly. The tattoo artists wanted to get it finished fast and simply just made a huge scramble of art. I wrote the review about 2 or 3 years ago and they took down the lowest reviews to make their store look better which is quite funny.

Great place with an excellent, friendly staff, they do amazing work. I went with four family members, to have tattoos done, each tattoo artist was amazing. Each having their own style but still did the same tattoo perfect on 3 different people. Even the forth tattoo (different style) was perfect. Definitely recommend True Blue

Went here for my first tattoo. Dre at the front desk is so friendly and funny! My tattoo artist was Ben. Ben was so friendly as well and great! . He did an awesome job , and would go back to him again. I highly recommend True Blue! . The whole staff was very kind and helpful.

Fantastic work by John ( the owner). Very professional and affordable pricing. Very chill atmosphere. Definitely will get another tattoo there again.Very happy

I love true blue because Ive known Vinny 4 so long I havent gotten a tat in yrs from here though because everyone who did mine left then there were all girls that I didnt care 4 the rudeness they showed now I think theres a whole new crew so I plan on going in and seeing whats going on! Tat me again 🤪

I got my first tattoo here about two years ago. The staff is amazing and front desk/ Communication is awesome. I was afraid to get a tattoo because of the awkward silence and need for small talk, ( like when you get a haircut) however all though the tattoo took two hours, I’d never felt so comfortable. These guys were so easy to talk to and were down to earth . The tattoo came out great, and even though I had only gotten writing, I know many people who go here for tattoos and they come out nice. I have to also say they are reasonably priced and very sanitary. I recommend this location to everyone looking to get a first tattoo because of the ease of communication. Of course I recommend this place to everyone, period.

When you walk in, youll see couches with a TV and more DVDs than youve seen in a while. At the front desk, is Vinny (at least when Ive gone in) he is a source of good energy. The tattoos themselves are well done! My friend got hers done here by Nick. The staff was extremely helpful with sizing and providing proper aftercare advice. Overall, we had an enjoyable experience here and will 100% come back again. Vinny has become a household name with us and we cant wait to get our next ones done.

Took my son there to get his ears pierced on the recommendation of a friend. I cant remember names for the life of me, but the gentleman who did the piercing was great with him. Were both very happy with the results.

I got my helix and nose pierced here within 4 months and its honestly one of the best experiences in my life. They didnt fail to make me comfortable and laugh with them. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone and I for sure will be back

During my little vacation weekend to new york, my two friends & i decided to get a spontaneous small tattoo. searched a couple of places & found true blue tattoo. they got us in right away for a walk in for THREE people. Chris did an absolute fabulous job on all three of ours! i cannot thank him & true blue enough. definitely worth the two hour drive for me to go back!

I grew up around the area and remember seeing this place being around ever since I was a little girl. It wasnt until yesterday that I decided to enter this establishment to get my nose pierced. The entrance area was decorated with beautiful, colorful, art and was quite comfortable to wait in. The wait was not long, either. It was less than five minutes and I had walked in. The procedure was quick and relatively painless, and was also pleasant. Vinny is not only excellent at what he does, but is also a kind human being. I was pretty nervous, but I was made at ease via our pleasant exchange and his knowledge about this neighborhood. TLDR Id recommend this place 100%, and will be coming back here for any future work.

The owner is a consummate professional and has been in the tattoo scene For a very long time. He only hires qualified artists, And he cares about his reputation. Sterile equipment clean and qualified I would recommend this place to anyone.

A really good tattoo place. Guy has a lot of experience and he lets you know how convenient is to get some colors or where to place your tattoo. Definitely coming back

Had my first ever tattoo here in May, Im not sure what the guys name was, but he was amazing, so professional.My sister loved my tattoo so much we went back the following day to get the same one done! Just gotta find a guy in England who is just as good now!

Ron has done multiple pieces for me and has done an amazing job each time. Very open and honest about the best way to go about what I wanted done to ensure that it would look good today and for many years to come. Will continue to come back and have Ron do more work.

Jonny is simply amazing and passionate artist I ever met! He made me feel comfortable through the whole cover up session and helped me to come up with a great idea for a tattoo, he is very precise and took his time to get it looking right.Thank you so much Jonny !!!

My husband and I have been getting our ink here for years.(a) they are super clean(b) we are never rushed(c) they are not afraid to suggest changes to placement/size of tattoos based on a clients body(d) they have pretty great artist retention ratesI would recommend them to anyone looking for some local ink.

Got my first tattoo at True Blue, the staff was excellent and extremely helpful. My tatt was a simple sailboat and Ronn was my artist; he not only did a great job, but was extremely helpful with the placement of the tatt and how to take care of it after. He made sure, knowing it was my first tattoo, that I knew exactly how to take care of it before I left. I will absolutely be going back there for future tattoos and will only recomend True Blue to friends interested in getting ink. Amazing place to go great staff and friendly customers as well. 6 months ago, Me and my best friend spontaneously went in and got our nose pierced. I was nervous but I had a pleasant experience. Going back soon to get a new nose ring.

I brought my daughter, granddaughter and my grandson here for piercings and a tat for myself. The service and attention was very professional and the place was clean and awesome. All the artists were very nice. I would visit here again for the next one.
