I got my nose pierced here last year. No big deal. No problem. So when they had another BOGO sale, I figured I could get some in my ear for a cheap deal. Well, when my friend went a couple days before me and told me he pierced her nipple crooked and that her conch was done with plastic jewelry, I thought maybe I should reconsider. I remembered my nose was fine and went anyway. Well I got my industrial bar and conch done. First, the industrial was not done correctly by several means. I do not have the right anatomy for an industrial and he pierced the outside of my ear forcing it to work, used a bar too big, and used a bar that was not titanium. Anything that isn’t titanium is much more susceptible to infection and bacteria. I had to pay another piercer to remove it. The plastic that was used should not be used for fresh piercings as it melts above 70°F (which the body sits at avg 98.6°F) and when it ‘melts’ it releases carcinogenic particles. Also it’s very hard if not impossible to truly sanitize plastic so therefore it harbors bacteria and should only be used on healed piercings. He did this to my conch, my friends, and two other friends of mine. I know of at least 5 people who have had to get their jewelry fixed at actual reputable piercers. I will not be returning and I highly recommend others don’t even if it’s cheap. Because it’s cheap for a reason.
