Psychward Tattoos and Piercings

I got my eyebrow pierced here and it was pierced way to low anatomy wise and is extremely infected after 5 months. i went to my regular piercer and she told me the jewelry is stainless steel which is terrible to pierce with. don’t get pierced here shes had to save or remove soo many piercings from this place. the guy was also pretty rude

My daughter had her ears pierced here today and she absolutely loves them! The process was quick, easy, and professional. I noticed a previous review mentioning Gary not marking, showing, or counting down to the piercing, but my experience was completely different. He did all of those things. In addition, he appears to be more of the quiet, direct, stoic type, but not rude. I will recommend to others.

So whos the guy that started but refused to complete my friends tattoo (that she got to to honor her late mother in law who just passed away) because its not feminine for her to have the type of tattoo she asked for and shes not a gravestone? I dont know his name, but he should be FIRED. A small, appropriate tattoo should not be refused to be worked on because of the artists personal aesthetic tastes. Its not your skin, so either grow up and do your job or find another profession.

I came in for my very first tattoo, and Justin was amazing! He was very kind, funny, and got right into working on my tattoo once the paperwork was finished. He even did my mothers tattoo after mine simply because he had the time! The overall process was very quick and enjoyable, definitely coming back!

I would never recommend getting a piercing here. tattoos i’ve heard good things about but gary pierced my helix didn’t show me where he was he didn’t tell me he was going to do it he just sat me down and did it. may i add it was crooked and with a hoop that your not supposed to pierce with. had to go to Bismarck to get it removed and she told me he pierced me in the wrong spot it’s way too far in my crease he was very rude. DO NOT GET PIERCED HERE.

Just got a tattoo done today by justin, he got me in and out of there pretty quick, had a light hand, and gave me some good show/movie suggestions, also the tat looks awesome. will definitely be back

Had a great experience with Gary today! Clean quick and direct on suggestions to be sure I got a tattoo in a size I would be happy with. Highly reccomend!

Super friendly over the phone setting up the appointment and greeted with smiling faces and plenty of jokes, i was a little nervous for my first professional tattoo but Paul did an outstanding job making sure i was comfortable and confident with the placement of the tattoo. definitely going again!!

Paul, the OWNER gave me the worst tattoo I’ve ever gotten in my life. It was my daughter’s footprint so it was very important to me. I had so many people tell me how horrible it looked and that it didn’t even look like a human footprint. I would have went back to have him fix it but I really didn’t want him touching my arm again. Ended up going to a different artist to get it covered up and now I have to deal with a large, basically blacked out tattoo. Will never go back and I highly suggest you go elsewhere. He’s a nice guy but he rushed and didnt seem to care how it looked. I get it’s not the easiest tattoo to do, but I could have done better.

I been going to Psychward Tattoo for many years. Paul and Justin have always done right by me. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable about tattoo work. They are professional and will help you in deciding your next piece. Ive sent all my friends and family in search of some new ink to Psychward and theyve all left feeling satisfied.

Paul is such a talented artist! Does good honest work, he has done majority of my sleeve and I love it!! Staff is very nice and pretty goofy in a good way as they all joke around with each other. Very relaxed and team oriented environment

Terrible piercing. Uses the wrong 16g captive hoop jewelry for belly buttons, nostrils, and anything else. Wont pierce a septum though, because he doesnt want complaints of them being crooked. And tells you to clean a new piercing with bar soap, rubbing alcohol, or hydrogen peroxide.

Great work, Justin is awesome. Lots more work to come from him. The entire staff is great and friendly. My daughter had her first tattoo done there and plans on going back in the very near future for more work. Thanks guys!

Went here and got my industrial pierced the other day. First big piercing ive gotten. Guy at the desk was friendly and great. The guy who did my industrial took me to the back room had me sit in the chair and counted to 3 and pierced my ear thats it. I felt like there was tension in the room. I didnt get any follow up care for it either which I feel like thats something that should be given. The piercing its self is doing fine. Sore but thats to be expected.

Got a tattoo and piercing here. Paul, the guy who did my tattoo was awesome! Was easy to talk to, listened to what you wanted done and had a good heavy hand. The guy who did my piercing wasnt very talkative, but I am no means complaining. I was super nervous, so him not talking helped 😂 but when he did talk he was nice. The piercing was quick, he had a clean set up and very professional. 10/10 will go again for my tattoo and piercing needs.

Nice people, welcoming and you wont feel not cool enough to be there fair prices and will do fun tattoo walk in if they have time.

I have heard really great things about this shop but I have to assume that is solely for their tattoos. I have had 2 tattoos done here, both of those experiences were average for a tattoo shop. It has now been about 5 years and one of my tattoos is no longer legible as the writing was small and bleed, I wish the artist would have warned me about that possibility. My second tattoo is about 3 years old with a bigger font and still looking great! I would recommend this shop for tattoos but never for a piecing. My friend and I came here for a piercing (years ago) and while we were getting pierced a customer came in complaining their piecing was either rejected or infected (we could tell which they said) a staff member was yelling back at them saying it was their own fault for not cleaning it and they dont do refunds, it was unprofessional and awkward but we were thinking that ya it probably was their fault as that happens. My piecing went fine then it was my friends turn. The piercer had sterilized everything had gloves on and was about to pierce when his phone rang, he proceeded to answer the phone with his gloved hands and then pierced her without resterilizing or changing gloves. Ultimately my 3 forward helix were to close together and the edge of the ear and rejected, luckily my friends didnt get infected but it could have easily happened. I would highly recommend traveling to Bismarck or really anywhere else for piercings.

Went to get two tattoos done for my adult kids. Was scheduled with Amanda (who comes here from Florida and made it sound like that was an awful thing) for 2pm. Worst experience yet. And we have had 4 tattoos before at this shop with other artists.She was rude claiming we had wrong time. We didn’t. She was rude because we didn’t have a card with the Time slot on it. She was rude because we didn’t put down a deposit. Demanding to know who made the appointment and overall awful customer service. Not welcoming from the moment we met her.Was speaking down to us, indignant, when I asked about touch ups if needed, because there was a lot of black in the tat and sometimes you don’t get the saturation in one sitting and have grayer areas that need retouching.Customer service is poor, even when we went to make the appointment. It was more like we were a bother than a welcome customer.They just lost 3 tattoo jobs and all future business. This was to be my kids Christmas presents. Support local businesses, not this time. I will be going to Bismarck and Fargo to have these done.

I absolutely love this place! I currently have 3 tattoos from here an I absolutely love them! They do amazing work! Im actually going to get another tattoo tomorrow!! All of the art work that is in the building is so freaking amazing! They are very clean an will talk an treat you like they have known you forever! Love love love love this place!!!!

Went in last weekend for a simple script tattoo and the experience was great. Who ever answered the phone was really friendly when I was making my appointment (which is always a plus in my book).I was still a little skeptical though, since Ive heard the artists up here are less than stellar. The shop was clean and they have quite a few TVs mounted throughout the place to keep you occupied, very open shop layout which didnt bother me at all but now that i think about it might be a turnoff for some. I didnt wait long at all and was tattooed by Amanda, she did a great job and Im loving my new ink. She was really helpful with some of my questions and suggestions and even gave me some great input that i might end up incorporating into my new tattoo. Overall great feel, clean shop, and nice people, ill definitely be back.

I got my first tattoo from here last fall, I had Gary, who did a decent job, however, if he does shading, he has a heavy hand. Its not bad once you go numb, but based on other tattoos Ive gotten, his technique was a little rough on the skin. He also left some small gaps and bandages it up weird, so your blood will drip out. Other than than, he does decent improve on the spot, and his prices arent bad.

Mediocre at best. Was ignored when I walked in Went to get a simple tattoo and didn’t even look as great as I wanted it to. Then had to go back not long after just to get it touched up. Disappointed yes, Prices are unreasonable considering how some of the artists aren’t even that impressive. I would say Justin is the best at what he does. Honest and takes pride in his work.

Justin is the man to see for your tattoo needs! He can free hand and use stencils and he always has a thorough consult to make sure you get what you want within the means if possible. Super accommodating and very friendly in my experience. I know I WILL be coming back for sure.

I received a piercing that got infected right away after getting it and I was giving a weak excuse that some how the piercing didnt agree with my body lol WOW Ive had it before it was perfectly fine and they wont give me a refund or anything. So I wouldnt recommend this wanna be piercer nor this tattoo shop!!!!! NO GO NO GO

I went to Psychward a couple months ago to get my first tattoo. I asked for a simple outline of a crown on my side. Gary was the one who did it and it turned out terrible. It was very rushed and as soon as he was done he covered it without letting me look at it to see how it turned out. He also didnt tell me how to take care of it. I thought it might look better after it healed so I waited to do anything about it, but even after it healed it looked awful. I called Psychward a few times to talk to the owner, Paul, to see if there was anything he could do. The first couple times the guy who answered said Paul was gone and to call back in a couple days. The last time I called, the guy who answered said Paul was there but he didnt know exactly where he was so he wouldnt be able to talk to me, so I gave the guy my number to give to Paul and asked to have Paul call me back as soon as possible.. He never called me back. I highly recommend not to go here and to get a tattoo done by Gary. My experience here was very unprofessional and a waste of time and money.

Dont go... I feel bad for saying it, but go anywhere else. Got some piercings done, my first time. I got no instruction on how to care for my piercings (I had to ask) and I got no instructions on how to take off or put on the earrings that I was given (captive bead rings) and now Im STRUGGLING and in pain!!!! The guy who did my ears (I think his name was Gary) literally took me to a room, had me sit on a chair, said 1-2-3 and stabbed my ears, thats it. No questions, no advice, no nada. I wish I would have had more patience in finding a place to get my piercing and not have settled for this place.... Now I have to find another place that will help me with these things

Never had a bad experience here. Everyone is extremely nice and professional. Paul is the one whos done my tattoos and always does an excellent job. He does my husbands tattoos as well.

Garbage tattoos to be completely honest.. there’s 10 year old kids that can outdraw these clowns.. can’t believe how many good reviews there are with these guys. None of them can draw. You want people that are professional go to 2D Ink. Will never be disappointed There.... BTW if you think their work is great, which it’s NOT. May I recommend seeing an eye doctor and getting an exam first. And Gary out of all of them is the farthest thing from an Artist. Should not be even allowed to touch people’s skin. D bag. There’s to many good artists out there, so don’t waste your time on these fools. Do research. Find someone that can DRAW. They wouldn’t last a minute on ink master lil lone get lucky enough to even get on the show. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE.

I went to get my nose pierced here and they took hardly any sterilization precautions. The guy who pierced my nose didn’t even wear gloves or wash his hands before he pierced my nose. They also didn’t tell me how to care for my piercing or anything like that I was very upset because it felt very unprofessional for a $50 piercing. If I knew it would’ve been like that I would have done it myself.

Beautiful cover up done on my sleeve. Got it done well over a year ago and still looks amazing. I refer everyone I know here. Absolutely love them all!!!

Went in to have a small old tattoo covered up. It was about 4 inches tall by 2 inches wide. Gary covered it all right, but you cant tell what the hell it is. Wont ever go back again. Going to be hard to cover up a cover up.

They are really great with piercings got my nose and a dermal and my friend got her monroe and nose, they all were helpful and took great care of us and we were immediately greeted and even got discounts! Thanks guys I love my new piercings!!(:

Got a tattoo here today from Justin. Did not have an appointment, and was super dirty after getting off work and he not only made sure to squeeze me in, but didnt complain about my dirty clothes. Great conversation as well. Thanks!

My belly button piercing was clean, quick, and easy! The service was great and efficient. I recommend Gary. He was nice and did a good job.

The people here are very rude and judgmental.my husband and I went to get tattoos on our ring fingers. first off they said there was only one guy that would do it and we get there and he wouldnt even do what we wanted. I wanted a white tattoo on the side of my finger and he said he wouldnt do either of those things.my husband wanted my initial incorporated in to his tattoo and he wouldnt do that and he wouldnt wrap a ring around his finger. I thought we should have walked out and left but my husband decided to get one anyways. It looks nothing like what he originally wanted (a wedding band) and the price was outrageous for such a tiny tattoo we think he charged us for both because we had 2 appointments. Theres no way I would ever recommend this place!! not to mention that they were very rude when we walked in. They all just sat there and didnt say or do anything for a while and my husband was trying to be friendly but they treated him like he was young and stupid (we are not very young)

The tattoo itself was ALRIGHT nothing grand, the lines arent straight and didnt really put much effort and came out exoensive, but literally their customer service I would say is garbage. The guy who was giving me the tattoo was a little mean and was coming off with badd vibes, so I decided to just not talk to him and instead had my friend come over to talk to me. Also they had loads of friends/family in their that were coming off rude and just staring. It was my first tatt and had a terrible experience.Also didnt really explain how to care for it and seemed annoyed when I asked.Please do not get a tattoo here.

I have Been here 4 times and every time was fantastic Ive had Gary do 2 of my tattoos and Justin has done 2 of them and I will definitely be back for a fith tattoo !

Only reason why Im not giving this place one star is because of the girl that was suppose to do my tattoo. She was very nice and understanding. But whoever booked my appt is an idiot because he screwed up what I said and I ended up not getting what I wanted because it was going to take too long. I texted them a picture of what I wanted!! Exactly what he told me to do and still messed the appt up. Incredibly frustrating dealing with incompetence.

My dad and I just got our tattoos a couple hours ago and they turned out great! We got ours from Gary, he was really nice and made really good suggestions to make sure it was perfect.

Gary did my nose piercing, he didnt wash hands before putting on gloves if that matters to you personally. I was never told how to clean it or anything, but I mean I got it pierced and thats what I asked for so the job was done :)

Please dont ever get pierced here if Mike is still doing them. I went to get my nose done, without checking around to see what other people had to say first. I walked in and was completely ignored because he and one other girl were so involved in whatever they were watching on TV and he actually had the audacity to sigh at me when he had to get up, but not before making us wait to go into the back room for a commercial break. Once we were back there and he was picking a place on my nose, I said I was going to put a hoop in eventually and wanted to know what would be the best placement and he told me, nose rings are for goth girls and you couldnt pull that off. Youd look horrible. The nicest thing he did for me was hand me a tissue for my tears after he stuck the needle through but he didnt show me how it looked, didnt tell me how to clean it besides telling me to keep makeup away from it, didnt tell me how long to keep it in for, and actually had the nerve to huff at me when I stopped to check how it looked in the hall mirror. I honestly got out to the car and cried because of how awful he was. It was a very traumatic experience and I advise you all to stay away.

I had a very positive experience, I had never had a tattoo, Gary was so nice and took his time to get the one I wanted just right. I would go back to him again.
