I got an anti-eyebrow surface piercing here in January. The place is super chill, and the staff are great. Super clean environment and my piercing healed like a dream!! It causes no issues. I’m super happy with my experience, the apprentice Shay who did my piercing did awesome.

Vaughn Body Arts is my go to for all my piercings. Cody and the staff are professional, polite, and very hygienic. Their space is relaxing and comfortable with many beautiful pieces in many price ranges for whatever piercing you may have.

Vaughn’s is top-tier and the absolute best of the best! Nothing but great things to say! They have pierced me, and my teenage daughter close to a dozen times and each experience is consistent and amazing. Their cleanliness is next-level. The aftercare is explained thoroughly each and every time. They aren’t afraid to tell you “no” to a piercing if it won’t work for you based on your anatomy. Also - their jewelry selection is nothing short of perfection. I would drive hours to get pierced here. Thankfully, since we are local - we don’t have to! 🫶

Ive gotten about six piercings from Cody in the last nine years, as well as seven others from four different piercing salons (in Monterey, Portland, Santa Cruz, and London), and honestly...Cody is the GOAT. Regardless of where I may be living, I will always come back to Cody and his team for a piercing.I made an appointment online, which has a very simple and easy-to-navigate UI as well as very clear information about safety procedures and cancellation policies. I also spoke with Theresa on the phone the day before my appointment to ask a quick question. She was so sweet and eager to please, and made me feel so excited to get back in there. She has a kind of contagious happiness about her.Carter assisted me at the jewelry counter--he was proactive and cheerful about helping me brainstorm what type of piece would work best for each piercing location and was communicative about all pricing. Once I had chosen all my jewelry, he made sure to add up the entire cost of my visit to give me a quote before I made any final decisions. They know people come in with budgets and are fully aware that lots of high quality piercing jewelry is an investment, and they communicate pricing and warranty policies accordingly.As shown in my photos: Carter helped me pick out the yellow gold pave ring (daith), 2 mm titanium CZ (cartilage), and 4 mm titanium CZ (conch), and Theresa pointed out the yellow gold seed stud (third lobe).Cody is efficient and professional with a calm, healing presence. Ive taken my bra off in front of him twice (nipple piercings and then subsequent repiercings years later), and Im still happy and comfortable being alone in the piercing room with him and looking him in the eye.The vast majority of the 1- and 2-star reviews of VBA from the last few years fall into two categories: 1) the reviewer is upset that there are consequences for not following directions, and 2) the reviewer is feeling reactionary to COVID safety measures.Can you read and follow simple directions? I wish there was an addl star I could add. Took my 9 year old daughter in for her ears. The owner did her piercings and he had the bedside manner of a quality pediatrician. My daughter felt calm, comfortable, and got both ears done without a flinch! The staff was fantastic. Way better than some mall shop. And the jewelry they have to choose from is great. Go here!

I brought my 8 year old daughter in for her first ear love piercings and the staff was so nurturing and kind. I would definitely go here again!!!They are an appointment-only establishment and it was really comforting to be the only clients in the shop. When my daughter picked out her earrings, they asked if I was okay with the cost. We were given thorough after care instructions before the piercings, just to make sure that the after care requirements were manageable.Most importantly, the piercer was super patient and welcoming with my daughter. She had the demeanor of a kindergarten teacher and a pediatrician. She told my daughter that all of her emotional and physical feelings were totally acceptable, she explained the science behind sterilization, she pierced only when my daughter was ready, and she placed the piercings so perfectly!Sorry for the super long post! I was looking for something cool to do while on Vacation and I stumbled upon the idea of a piercing. They were professional but laid back enough to make an environment that was extremely comfortable be in while being shanked in the nose. 11/10 would recommend!

Horrible place, got my earlobe earrings too tight it left huge bumps, when i talked to them about it they just told me to clean more. fast forward when i had to remove them i physically could not. the gap between was too small for it come out. another piercing had to use pliers to remove it.

Everyone was so professional and calming. Cody has the most reassuring demeanor and walked me through the sterilization process and all the steps he would go through for my piercings. Im an OCD mathematician and I was really comforted watching him map out methodically on my ears. I definitely recommend going here. Im taking my niece this week for some piercings for her 18th birthday.

This is my first ever review and I am happy to give it to Vaugh Body Art. I was in the middle of a run when I decided I wanted to browse for some potential new jewelry. I had no real intension of buying anything. I was greeted outside by a really friendly individual, I believe their name is Shay. The business still requires masks, which I totally respect and they made me wait outside and grabbed a mask for me. They welcomed me in and showed me to the jewelry and let me browse. They also let me know that they have a gap in appointments and could get jewelry switched out or a piercing if I wanted too. After, Cody came to pull out the jewelry I wanted to see and go over prices. I laid my eyes upon a piece of jewelry that required a double helix piercing which I did not have. It had my favorite purple green iridescent gem. I thought this is the piercing I have been reserving my left ear for lol. I told Cody that Shay had told me that there was an opening and he confirmed there was. I impulsively decided I was going to get this piercing and we got to it. They were so excited to pierce the piece and told me that they have been waiting to pierce it on someone. Which in turn made me even more excited! The placement is absolutely perfect and I am so happy with my piercing. Didn’t think I would get a piercing in the middle of a run lol. I have been here two times before and they have always been friendly, safe and they seem to be knowledgeable and appreciate the cultural aspect of piercings. I forgot to mention that I forgot my id because I didn’t bring my wallet with me on the run and they were able ti pull me up in the computer since I have previously gone which was awesome! This place is the best of the best and I can’t recommend them enough.

The exceptional service I have recieved at this shop makes my heart warm. As someone who has to regularly get MRIs due to chronic illness, all staff have been so accomodating and kind when helping me remove or change jewelry/retainers. Furthermore I have had multiple piercings done here. I was so nervous for each and staff provided support, empathy, and patience. Kindness goes such a long way and I really cant speak highly enough of Vaughn Body Arts. Thank you all!

I had a great experience with Vaughn Body Arts. The scheduling was very easy, no different than any online appointment service. The piercing process and pricing are clearly outlined. Its insane some people are complaining about this in other reviews. Read the words yall. I found the staff to be nothing less than courteous, knowledgeable, and clear. Carter, Shay, and the man at the desk (didnt catch his name) are clearly passionate about what they do. I would definitely recommend this establishment.

3 star for they cleannessOnly issue I have is that the jewelry for my rook isn’t big enough after piercing, it’s been 2 months and I didn’t realize the issue it’s causing till today. It’s still irritated and hard to move the bar whatsoever to clean.They are clean and very nice can be pricey for some people. Was about $85 for my rook with the jewelry and the jewelry is good metal.Edit: I took the peircing out because of pain. The piercer who removed it said you put in a healed bar instead of a bigger bar for swelling

I waited a year to post- just hit roughly 1 year since coming in for nipple piercings. I was so nervous that day, but was quickly comforted by the staff. The piercings themself were painless, and healing was a dream. I have had ear lobe piercings and naval piercings at other shops that all yielded (sometimes years) of complications. I am amazed to have such a good experience with nipple piercings. I would trust the staff again. Amazing.

Just went here for my first piercing and the staff were very kind and helpful. They helped me calm my nerves and the procedure went really well. Shay was my piercer, she was very awesome and professional, and made me feel very comfortable. Overall a great experience!

I usually do not write reviews but I must take time to compliment the wonderful customer service I received and the professionalism of the staff at Vaughn Body Arts. The gals working here are thee standard of what customer service should entail. My appointment was at 5:00pm on a Friday and I was greeted promptly and given safety instructions along with a thorough overview of how the appointment was to proceed. Both ladies were friendly, personable, and the piercer made me feel very at-ease. She helped me pick out my jewelry and made me feel confident in my choice. I was only charged for the jewelry since I was only getting a previous piercing re-stretched which was a pleasant surprise. Ive gotten piercings done before and this was the best experience I have ever had. I began thinking about other areas I want to have pierced just to patron this establishment again. THAT, my friends, is how customer service should make you feel. Id give this place a million stars if I could. Highly recommend and will definitely be back soon.

I asked for navel and earlobes. They refused to give me the navel piercing. They have a limited range of jewelry and prices are not marked and they only tell you the price if you ask before. They charge $165 just for getting earrings but their website says $60 and doesn’t tell you how much their earrings are. I said I’ll pass but they still charged me $20 even though I showed up to my appointment and to my understanding from the booking website they only said they’d charge you for a no show. The store has a weird vibe and they lock the door during open hours. They were not transparent about pricing. I will be disputing this charge with my credit card company.

Regrettably, my daughter and I had an extremely disappointing visit to this establishment. Despite having a 1:30 appointment booked, we were greeted by a rude employee outside who informed us that we couldnt each get an ear piercing on one lobe, even though we had specifically booked a two earlobe appointment. To our dismay, the owner, Cody, reinforced this restriction in an impolite manner. Adding insult to injury, Cody went ahead and charged us a $30 cancellation fee for their poor treatment.What made this situation even more disheartening was the fact that the place was not busy at all, leaving us to wonder why they couldnt have accommodated both of us. The overall rudeness displayed by the staff was truly disheartening. Its unfortunate to witness such a lack of customer service in an establishment.

Super friendly & calming staff. Had both my kids and my own ears done here today. Beautiful jewelry, clean environment, and just an all around positive experience.Update: I have since returned to have my (and my kids) nostrils done, plus my septum. 100/10 would go and get stabbed again. Customer service is awesome! Their selections ate beautiful and unique. They recently pierced my sisters ears and theyve been healing well. She chose to go here because the owner had actually done my belly button and tongue piercing before opening their own shop. The employees are very knowledgeable and welcoming.

Vaughn’s is the best! We are a family of 5 and we drove 3.5 hours to come to our piercing appointment on August 1st, 2021. We were doing a family piercing to make a memory together so it was a really special trip. Shay was our piercer and she was AWESOME!! She was very professional, did perfect placement (for reference we had 5 helix piercings and a set of nipple piercings), explained everything in detail many times, had good energy, and was very kind. The nipple piercing was a difficult one because my husband had a lot of scarring and slight deformation due to a botched piercing from years ago at a bad place. Shay was patient with him and explained exactly what the challenges were and what she would have to do to re-pierce them. Even though they couldn’t be pierced exactly the same and she had to use different sized jewelry on each side, they look awesome and you would never know that they don’t exactly match. He is really happy with his new nipple piercings and has had no pain during his healing time. She was really honest when we got there because we originally all wanted the same Tragus piercing but one of our kids had different ear anatomy so she said it wouldn’t work. So, we all got our Helix and we are super happy. Their jewelry is top notch. We bought a solid gold piece for our daughter’s previous nostril piercing and even though it was a few hundred dollars it looks super beautiful on her and makes her feel really fancy so it was worth it. Adriana was working at the jewelry counter and she was so kind, patient, and knowledgeable about the jewelry pieces. The two of them together made it a great experience and worth a 7 hour road trip (there and back) and we would definitely come back to get pierced by Shay again. They even wrote down our piercing info including sizes on a card to keep in our wallets to make jewelry shopping easier. I give this place a 20 out of 10!!

As recommended by my best friends I scheduled an appointment at Vaughns Body Arts shop for an Industrial piercing and that has been the best decision I have ever made! When I was let in you could already tell how clean and well maintained the shop is! They have such a wide variety of choices for jewelry that is high quality and good value. Cody (the owner and my piercer) and Shay (who helped me out as a receptionist) were both very professional and walked me through the entire procedure thoroughly while also telling jokes, I felt very safe and comfortable with them. Then Cody walked me through the cleaning of all their equipment and I was very impressed, as this isnt something you see often with other piercers in YouTube videos. Im so happy with my piercing I really believe having a phenomenal piercer with tons of experience helped the piercing not hurt but also with healing process since my ear never swelled up or go irritated during nor after the procedure! Got my nose pierced today by the owner; he did a great job of listening to my concerns as well as explaining the process. He was very gentle and made it a pleasant experience. He was also very knowledgeable and helped me pick the right placement for my piercing that works best specially for my nose. He even took the time to answer questions about a piercing I had done at another shop.The receptionists where both very friendly and kind. They let me hold the jewelry up to my nose and guided me in choosing the right jewelry to fit my wants and needs.The whole process went very smoothly and they are very organized. They hold a high standard for sanitation and cleanliness in there shop; they even take is as far as doing a sanitation test on the jewelry for you to approve before doing the actual piercing.I highly recommend this shop for your piercing needs; I know I will return here for mine.

The second you walk through the door, everyone is fussing over you in the best way. Carter at the jewelry counter - you wont find anyone that knows more about jewelry and metals! I did a lot of research when I was looking for somewhere to get my nose pierced and decided on Vaughn body arts. I dont live in Monterey but it was more than worth it to drive from the bay area to get pierced here! I REALLY wish I lived closer or they had another location closer to me. The piercing places around me just dont compare.They were super welcoming and friendly, and their COVID precautions were superb. The shop is so clean, they are super transparent about everything they are doing like sanitizing the workspace and instruments and jewelry. And very knowledgeable about jewelry and after care. I loved that they go over everything with you in detail and also send you detailed instructions after your appointment. My piercer made me feel really comfortable throughout the entire process!And they have a really wide selection of jewelry. Looking at their website, it looks like they show only the newest or more unique pieces, but they have really high quality and more affordably priced jewelry in store (which they also say on their website, you just dont see the selection online).Their business card is also really clever: they write all your jewelry specs and date of your piercing on the back of the card so you have all the information you need for replacing the jewelry when youre ready.Something else I love about them is that they are very welcoming of questions and encourage you to call with any follow up questions. It was so inviting and felt like they really cared about you and your piercing.I could say infinite positive things about Vaughn body arts but Ill try to keep this short-ish. Customer service is 10/5, cleanliness is 10/5, knowledge is 10/5, professionalism is 10/5.

I had all my piercings done here. They did a GREAT job. The staff is very friendly and and answered all my questions. The jewelry is beautiful. The shop is clean. Every time Ive been in the shop the piercer explained the sterilization process and aftercare instructions. This shop is very professional and will make you feel comfortable. I wont go anywhere else for my piercings.

Love Vaughn Body Arts! I got my two most recent piercings here out of 11 total after i learned about the importance of safe professional piercing, and my experience was awesome. The staff is all very kind and welcoming and will walk you through the whole process of being pierced. The jewelry selection is fantastic! and they really do care about their clients, and make sure to check up on your piercings after you leave the shop to insure they are healing well!

Honestly both times I’ve visited they have excellent customer service and care. I wish I got the name of the piercer who salvaged my nose piercing today and saved it from closing all the way! She even wiped my tears too lol. Making an appointment on their website I easy, they even send reminder texts! They have a good selection of jewelry for all types of piercings. Theres only 2 people in the whole shop, it feels very intimate and welcoming. The gal in the front is very nice and gives a lot of good info on aftercare. The piercer herself is very nice too, walks you thru every step of the way. Felt very safe and comfortable in this environment. Will go back for future piercings and jewelry.

I got my navel pierced today and it was an awesome experience. Im terrified of needles and this was my first piercing after having my ears pierced when I was younger. I barely felt a thing, and I was comfortable the whole time. The staff were very friendly and professional. They helped ease my nerves about getting the piercing, making the experience even more pleasant. I live out of town but they are definitely worth the trip and Ill be coming back here for any future piercings!

Theyre on the expensive side but worth every penny. The piercers know what theyre doing, they take their time and make you feel comfortable. Also, the piercings Ive gotten from them have had a really smoothe heal time. They have a great selection of jewelry that you can have put in instead of the boring starter jewelry at most places so you can really fall in love with your new piercing from the get go. I walked in with a friend - I got an industrial piercing and she got her helix pierced. Cody was calm, professional, and showed us all of our jewelry options and went over prices. He sterilized our jewelry and showed us the process of how it became clean. After my friend got pierced first, he cleaned his hands and the station, wiped down the table, and took his time making sure everything was clean and ready for the next piercing. He made sure we had all possible information and told us to ask any questions and email or call if we had any concerns. My piercing itself was very quick and smooth and Cody was very calming. I would recommend this place to anyone!!

Today I got my tragus pierced again. The staff was super informative about what may have gone wrong the first time when I got it pierced elsewhere. I originally went in for a different piercing and the staff was happy to work with me and made sure I left feeling happy. I will definitely be returning for my next piercing!

Ive been to many piercing studios outside of Monterey, mostly in Las Vegas. I walked in and wow. So clean and high-class. Vaughn has been the ONLY studio thats been recommended time and time again, and I see why. Also the first time a piercing studio showed proof that all tools were sterilized. I wish I got all my piercings here!!! I went here today to get a second piercing on my earlobes and I was very impressed by my experience. Piercing is clearly the owner’s passion and he and his staff were more than happy to walk me through jewelry prices, which jewelry is most appropriate for certain piercings, the healing process, and how to clean my piercing. I was especially impressed by the piercing process and how the owner worked with me to make sure I was happy with the piercing placement and that I was mentally prepared when the piercing took place. I’d recommend Vaughn body Arts to anyone interested in a body piercing.

They explain what they are going to do before piercing and explain what needs to be done for aftercare. I was also provided aftercare instructions via email. One of the best shops I have gone to get pierced! Booking an appointment online was SUPER convenient for me, the staff was so friendly and professional and the jewelry was so amazing. I highly recommend this place to get any type of piercing. They will give you their best professional opinion about what piercing fits you best and that is what drew me the most to come here. Very disappointing. Arrived in time for opening at 11am. Asked if we could return in 15mins as the staff needed to set up and told that we’d need masks to enter. Returned, as requested, having purchased a box of masks. My wife and I entered the shop and despite the fact that we both wanted to purchase jewelry as we are both pierced, the shop assistant informed us that they were limiting the number of people in the shop (old COVID strategy…..fair enough I suppose) and that should another customer arrive one of us would be asked to go outside to facilitate their entry. I’ve never felt less welcome anywhere. In addition to this the range of jewelry was very limited, not what we expected given other reviews, so we exited. Absolute waste of a journey.

Had gone in the 14 of Sep. It was my first time getting a major piercing (septum) and it was wonderful. Very professional and such a nice environment. Felt welcomed right away. Would come again

They really do take care of you after your initial piercing, they changed out the posts in my piercings twice free of charge. Will definitely be going back for any future work and jewelry

I went for a Navel piercing and had a great experience. The jewelry is stunning, a bit expensive, but sometimes you gotta treat yourself. The process felt easy and quick, and the staff was eager to help, even though I didnt have an appointment.

I was really disappointed with my experience here. So many of my friends gushed about their experience here. I wanted a Christina piercing but was turned away because I didnt have the proper anatomy. This surprised me because almost all of my research confirmed I was a good candidate for this piercing as well as my own twin sister has this piercing; she got it four years ago with no issue. I would have maybe accepted this answer because theyre the professional and Im not... But they recommended a VCH instead. And I said I know for sure I dont have the anatomy for that, I have almost no hood. They offered to check and I relented. Upon inspection of me they offered to use a tool to see if it could be done regardless of my basically non-existent hood. I declined because at this point it seemed apparent to me that it was about comfortability. I dont think this shop is really comfortable with Christina piercings and would rather just do VCHs. I came into the shop 04/25/2021. Staff was friendly but that doesnt make me any less disappointed in my overall experience.

Top of the line shop, always excellent service from everyone there! My experience has always been positive and my piercings have all looked awesome. Wouldnt dream of going anywhere else!

I got my septum pierced yesterday and I couldn’t be happier. :) after having a really bad experience getting a septum piercing at another place two years ago I was super nervous but Cody is such a lovely and professional person and everything worked out great. They also have really beautiful jewelry :)

Great, upbeat crew. Very clean and organized business. Took our four year old to have her ears pierced. They were great with her and made her feel very comfortable and gave her complete control. She was explained what was involved in what she wanted, and asked multiple times if it was her decision and if she wanted to proceed. That couldnt have helped better with her mood. Two days after the first ear, she asked to go back and was happy the whole time, without the least bit of worry or apprehension. They empowered her again and made sure she was ready, and was done easy with no tears. It was a great experience that she speaks fondly of, and she loves her new ear rings. After care was thoroughly explained, and there was zero issues.

I went in for my second ear piercings. I am so impressed with everything about this place. From the sterilization process, to picking out jewelry, and to getting the piercing, everything is top tier. I am in awe. I’m in love with my piercings!! Thank you so much Cody!

Very, very friendly and helpful staff. Vaughns only does piercings, no tattoos. The jewelry is wonderful - something for everyone. As I already have piercings, I opted for a rose gold ring for my tragus. The piercing technician put it in for me. I usually have trouble getting it in, but she was done before I heard the ring click in place! Definitely go to Vaughns if you need jewelry, or are just putting together a wish list for Christmas, birthday, anniversary, etc..

On a scale of 1 to 5 there arent enough stars because Cody exceeds expectations. Ive got a good many piercings (17 total now) and Ive really seen the good and the bad. This particular piercing Id had done previously by another shop and the experience was less than subpar. I came to the shop because I was referred here by Vice and Virtue in Atlanta. Having had excellent experiences with them I considered but since it was 200+ miles to drive I decided to try a more local shop since Im in San Diego. The piercing hurt horribly and was completely crooked at the local shop Im talking about. After this horrible experience I decided to take the good advice and drive the 200+ miles to Vaughn Body Arts. I was nervous having to drive so far and had REALLY high expectations. Man, those expectations were completely met! The shop is super clean. He was there right on time in the morning. The jewelry is super high quality. There were many beautiful and unique pieces. Everything was sterilized properly in front of me and explained in great detail even though I have many other piercings. He was SO gentle and when he pierced my septum I honestly didnt even notice! He took the time to show me the most gentle way to clean it and assured me that if I needed anything at all to just get in touch with him. Overall would I suggest driving 200+ miles for a piercing from this shop? Absolutely. Dont make my mistake and try somewhere else first! The location is beautiful so if you want a piercing done by somebody who is kind, educated, clean and who will put the best quality jewelry on your body AND enjoy a beautiful area at the same time you should definitely go in (even if you have drive from southern oregon or in my case, San Diego)! I am sure I will be back for all of my piercing/body jewelry needs in the future! Thank you so much for the outstanding experience!

We had an appointment for which we brought a slew of paperwork (IDs, birth certificate, COVID vaccination card) but we forgot my daughters school ID. I get that these places have to follow rules but come on. We offered to have my son text a photo of it but they said it had to be the physical card. I said that she and my husband could stay and get started and I would run home to get the card - no dice. They had to have all of the paperwork first. We dashed home and tried to get back and they said we took too long. Then, they charged my credit card for a late cancellation. They were snippy, rude and in no way kind to my 15 year old getting this piercing for her birthday.

Went in to get my septum pierced and had a great experience — everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, and Cody did a fantastic job. Highly recommend coming here :)

Absolutely the best, hands down. So professional. They manage to make each piercing an experience for you. Something you will remember fondly as opposed to pain or frustration. Any other piercer is a waste of time and money.

Do not recommend: they charge so much for a small earring and piercing.The prices they charge do not correspond with the “highest quality body jewelry”, and they are inconsiderate of many individuals necessities.

Honestly , no the best place! I went to get two. Nostrils piercing for 50 bucks x and come back 2 days after to get mother side done,85 was not even alined,alrigut bibes bur bad work ethics! I highly recommend other places!

Got my nose pierced here either 2018 or2017 , beautiful studio best piercing place I have ever been to, I got my nose pierced here and Ive never had a better piercing done didnt hurt , I no longer have the pricing due to my own negligence (changed stud to hoop to early and caused my piercing to hurt all the time ). I would love to come back here and get it repierced next time Im in Monterey
