I have visited this place multiple times. The staff is very professional, the work is impeccable, and they prioritize your safety. Coleman is an amazing piercer, very knowledgeable. Definitely one of the best places in Delaware.

This place is amazing. I’ve gotten most of my piercings and tattoos done here. The piercer (Coleman) is extremely quick and precise with the multiple piercings he’s done on me. Kristin is the absolute best. She’s done multiple tattoos one me. And I will not go to anyone else!! She is quick and detailed with her work and a pleasure to talk to. The only place I recommend to tattoo or pierce me.

Absolutely insane how clean, fun, and nice everyone is at this shop is. I couldnt imagine that my tattoo coverup would turn out this well. Kristin is world-class as a person and artist. Her art is exactly like it is on her instagram and shes faster than anyone Ive ever had tattoo me before. Cant recommend this shop enough and I will be back for more this year

Got both of my hands done by Kirstin & I refuse to go to any other artist after that, they all came out amazing & she even added her own style to my hand that made me love it even more, I will drive the hour drive for her anyday anytime, absolutely love it!

I dont know about you, but I take getting tattooed seriously. After all, it is an investment that lasts forever. Each artist brings their own unique talents to the table, the vibe is great, and they strictly follow all requirements to ensure the health/safety of their customers. I love this place. Coleman did my second lobe piercing a few weeks ago. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He even pointed me towards someone who does ear repairs for my damaged lobe piercing. My piercing is healing nicely. Coleman was awesome and i will be back for my helix at some point! Thank you Coleman!!

I had a tattoo done with Kristin , I sent a picture over through email with what I wanted done and she took it to the next level she made her own master piece out of the picture I sent . She was very nice and very welcoming. She did a amazing job on my tattoo and I’ll be going back to her and I highly recommend her!

Toby did an amazing job on this Pink Floyd piece! Youd never even know its a cover up. Ive been there several times and wont get tattooed anywhere else, best in the area for sure.

Got my tongue pierced here, the guy was very quick which made it basically painless. I did have an issue about a week later where my tongue is short and thick so the long bar usually used on tongue piercings was to short (which couldnt have been expected by the piercer every experience it unique). I did seek medical attention because it was my first time tongue piercing and their suggestions didnt help so they told me to just remove it. Went into the tattoo shop again and everyone was very understanding and helpful. They replaced the bar I currently had with a longer bad and immediately there was relief from the swelling and pain. Now a week later its healed completely and feels amazing. Looks perfect and I will do business with them again. I highly suggest this shop and the artists. they know what they are doing and are willing to help even in situations like mine where things happen that cant be expected. Big props to the piercer thank you for being so professional and gentle.

I chose to go to Explosive because their prices are fair and my daughter had such a great experience there when she got her septum pierced. From the moment I walked in, everyone was nice, patient, and the overall vibe was wonderful. My piercer, Coleman, was thorough and made me feel very comfortable (I got 2 things pierced during this visit). Id definitely recommend getting piercings from Explosive and the next time I decide to get something, Ill come straight here.

Ive gotten all three of my tattoos from there- a quote from Chris, my elephants & rose from Dave. Chris & Dave were both very understanding, talked to me when I wanted to be talked to, stayed silent when I didnt indicate conversation. Clean place! Clean practice! & clean tattoos!

Kristin is an awesome tattoo artist. She also is very caring, listens to what you want, and she created the exact memory tattoo I have been wanting for some time. I cant stop looking at it. Thank you, Kristin.

Update 1/6/22: Went back for a vertical labret piercing, it was quick and easy. Still a solid 5 stars.Wonderful experience! Chris did my tattoo and it turned out better than I ever could have hoped for. Price was fair and he was done rather quickly. I loved the atmosphere and everyone was friendly, helpful, and informative. I highly recommend.

I truly love coming here. I would never go any where else. The store is always clean and well kept the staff is just amazing and friendly. I was here on 1/12 and everyone was just great. The young lady who meet me at the store made feel like we where old friends. Nice friendly and just kind. Matt who did my tattoo was great understanding that I was on a budget and took of me. Gave me some great ideas on my tattoo and while getting the tattoo could see I was in pain. Asked me more then once how I was holding up and even helped take my mind off it by making me laugh. I first came here when I we about 20 and at 37 I came back because the staff was friendly then and still are. If your getting work done you won’t find a better place.

I got my tongue pierced almost a week ago and they are so welcoming and so respectful. Very clean and I am definitely 110% going back I definitely recommend them!! My piercing felt so wonderful it hasn’t hurt only the first day a little but I’m definitely pleased if I could give 100 star rating I definitely would!

I got my first tattoo there a couple of days ago by Toby and I am amazed with how it came out! I love his energy and his sense of humor. He made my first tattoo experience more fun! Will definitely be coming back to get more tattoos! :)

Staff is excellent, very clean, lots of services to pick from, help with drawings of tattoo’s, everyone professional and helpful and engages in conversations etc., makes you feel relaxed and comfortable and prices are reasonable!!!!Myself and a few friends have gone there several times. And each one of us would recommend this shop to anyone!!!

Skyler did all 4 of my piercings. Nose, Tongue, chest, and VCH. He was clean, educated, quick (but not rushed), and made me feel comfortable. All my piercings have healed with no infections or complaints. Even though they don’t do back dermals, if I ever wanted another piercing this is where I’d go. Because piercing addiction is a real thing 😂🫶🏽5/5 stars. I will say nipple piercings took the longest to heal! I’ve had them for going on two years and sometimes will experience discharge (your body also secretes fluids from holes in your body, piercings are not different) not as frequent but homemade saline sprays & piercing cleaner really helped and bathing twice a day (that goes without saying I feel) . And my nose piercings was most intolerable but healed really nicely. I can take it out for a few days (say I’m sick) and the hole will still be open :) (pain wise I’d give it a solid 4-5) my VCH healed so quickly and hurt the least surprisingly! Anyways! Highly recommend to anyone considering getting pierced. They never gave me any problems customer service wise or piercing wise! Thank you skyler as this review is long over due.

Kristin is awesome! I had the most difficult time getting out my philtrum piercing, after trying multiple times. I went to Kristin and she was able to not only help me get it out, but sold me another beautiful piece of jewelry that would be a lot easier for me to get out. Absolutely fantastic atmosphere, that makes your feel comfortable and like youre amongst friends. Will always recommend this shop!

Great people, havent gotten a tattoo but the piercing I got is amazing .Skylar is a pro and knows how to make you laugh so your nerves arent too bad. My septum looks great and he took the time to make sure I was fully satisfied with the piercing and helped me by stretching the jewelry so I could flip it up to hide it away if I wanted. Would recommend to anyone.

It was almost closing time with an hour to spare, I had to wait at least an hour and a half. At least. There was no where to sit the bench had three people on it. The owner or the guy that runs the place was loud rude and very obnoxious. I got my nose peirced and he mad a reference about not being able to do coke. The guts doing g the piercing said I could edit have it recorded because he wants his clients to be in the moment of the piercing experience. The young girl at the counter was very rudely opinionated. Never will I go there for anything ever and I would suggest unless you like that kind of unprofessional environment dont visit this place. My nose peirced looks cute though. But they ran out of the one I wanted.

It was me and two friends first time getting a tattoo. We were all so nervous and really Unsure of what we wanted. But the artist there were nice and made us feel welcomed. They even accommodated is by doing all of us at the same time! My artist was Matt, he came up with my design so quick and with ease! He knew his stuff! Made me feel comfortable since it was my first tattoo and it was on my rib 😱. I will definitely go back to explosive tattoo shop!

Syler did my ear piercing. He was extremely professional, thorough, and sterile. It was my first ever piercing of my ears. He made me feel comfortable and at ease. Pleasant conversation. The paperwork took longer than the piercing. Excellent job 👏 guys

Ive gotten my first tattoo here and they treated me so well and explain every step to me. They are very clean and made me feel comfortable. My tattoos always come out the way I wanted them, plus the color on my tattoos still look amazing 2 years later.

I went in for a labret piercing. I got there just before noon on a Saturday (they open at noon) and I was first in line. I definitely recommend getting there before noon. They got crowded very quickly.I was in, filled out my paperwork, picked my jewelry, got pierced and got out in no time. Definitely recommend

Ive been going to Chris since 2012 and when I tell you hes the BEST tattoo artist hands down in Delaware. I dont like pain at all. But, Chris tattooing me is always painless. Hes very creative and his work is AMAZING!! Im never disappointed. Im addicted to tattoos. I drive from Maryland to see him. Great work Chris!! See you in a month. Oh yeah, hes funny as hell too!! This picture isnt the only Tat hes done. I couldnt get a good picture of the other one he did. Trust me you wont be disappointed

I had the absolute best experience with the piercer Sean. He has pierced my monroe, tongue & nose! As well as many of my friends since the experience was so wonderful.First of all I can give him the biggest compliment that my tongue never swelled and he explained to me most people will baby their new piercing.. that is the wrong thing to do because it is a muscle and the more you work the muscle the easier the healing process is. I thank him SO much for the advice. My tongue was fully healed in about 2 weeks.He pierced my nose with a silver hoop because I had issues with a stud (from a different piercer before). I also had no issues my nose piercing. The shop is ALWAYS super clean & sanitary. Also, he is very quick and makes the process go by very smoothly.I recently moved and am struggling to find a piercer as sufficient as him.so a HUGE thank you to him!! and definitely the biggest recommendation I could ever give.

Honestly I adore this place. My family has been going here for years. Ive been visiting since last year for piercings. Theyre very knowledgeable and skilled. Ive had them walk through the procedure and explain everything to me and the people Ive come in contact with were always helpful. Would definitely visit again and plan to get a tattoo!!

Very nice atmosphere and nice people! Got a few piercings changed out here. I have yet to try out the tattoo side but I will shortly and update you guys on my experience. Also I never have to wait long! They are always fully staffed and professional.

The shop as a whole is clean, the staff is knowledgeable, and the prices are good. My fiancée and I have both gotten tattoos from Alicia. Her attention to detail and eye for color make for excellent tattoos, and she is a pleasant person to sit for.

I got my first tattoo done and belly piercing here and let me tell you they were awesome! One they made the experience so much easier and they had me laughing the whole time! They were sweet gentle funny and gave clear explanations about how to care for my tat and piercing. If you ever go ask for jimmi or toby! Their work rocks!!!

My husband wanted us to get matching tattoos. One simple word. Called to get a general idea of pricing, I knew they couldnt give me an exact price. Was never advised I could/should make an appointment. Got there and was told they couldnt get to us for 3 hours. Left my contact info and had a time to return. Was called about 30 mins before we were due to go back to be told they wouldnt be able to get to us. Ended up at another shop with a much better atmosphere and a great artist. Only giving 1 star because I cant leave them none.

Great experience here. Got second tattoo, on my ribs, which I was a little nervous about but it was so easy with the staff here. I had Matt I believe and he was great!! Service fantastic from the moment I walked in the door, my tattoo was perfect.

Such a great experience! Im visiting Delaware with my cousin and decided to get a helix piercing. Erik did the piercing and he was phenomenal! We chatting with him and Toby and had such a great time! HIGHLY recommend them!

I went there to get my belly pierced! & they did an awesome job gave me papers on how to take care of my belly piercing & how many times a day the manager was the one who did it I was very nervous at first but honestly he relaxed me and it all went well. Going back to get my noise pierced next weekend.

My first experience with explosive was not great. I wanted to get a tattoo for my 21st birthday. All I wanted done was 5 words in small font on my forearm, I was told that was going to cost me $250 with a $50 deposit. That is ridiculous considering I could get an actual portrait piece done anywhere else for that price! Staff was not very friendly, and did not do a good job at making me feel welcomed, it was clear they were obviously just trying to take advantage of a first timer..

Toby (whom Im assuming is the shop owner) came off as judgemental and demeaning towards my sister and I. He also tried to take advantage of us by upcharging for a simple tattoo. Jimmy, on the other hand who was our tattoo artist was awesome! We had great conversation and he made sure my sister and I felt welcome. He also did a great job on our tattoos. Thanks Jimmy.

First let me say that I havent been to a tattoo shop in over 10 years but I do have a few tattoos. When I first walked into this shop I was greeted pleasantly. I was asked what I was getting and I told the man I wanted to get piercings for myself and my daughter and thats where the plesentries stopped. The man got very loud and asked if we both had state issued Ids. I told him that I did and my daughter just turned sixteen so she doesnt have a ID yet but Im her mother. So I figured I could sign for her or something giving my permission. Well this man turned into a complete jerk and said, I dont care if youre her grandmother. I felt that comment was completely unnecessary. Like I stated before I havent been to a tattoo shop in some time so Im not familiar with the requirements now. But when my daughter gets her drivers license I will be getting the piercings, but most definitely wont be from Explosive. That man needs to learn how to speak to customers. I dont care how good or bad their work is. If I could give zero stars I would.

I used to go to this shop for EVERYTHING. I practically lived here like no joke. But my opinions have changed recently. I WOULD recommend them for ink. They are all amazing at tattoos. But WILL NOT recommend for peircing by skyler. Have had NOTHING but trouble when he does them. If you want a peircing ask for Kristen. Skyler is NOT a profecinal . and his disheveled and unclean appearance are a real turn off. His personality is of gutter mentality and reflects that on the shop. For ink this place 💯💯💯 for peircing 👎👎👎 . i would rather be pierced by 12 inch skewer by the bride of chucky than let Skyler pierce me

I went in with a friend of mine who was getting a tattoo done by Toby. This one star is not due to a lack of quality in the work, but Toby himself. He made several vulgar jokes and was generally crass. Id rather go somewhere more professional (and less gross) for my tattoo.

I was visiting from CA and decided to get my nose pierced. Kristin did a great job. I cant review the tattoos because I dont have one, but I would definitely recommend Kristin.

I got my tongue pierced yesterday and today my tongue is swollen over the bottom ball and looks like my skin wants to close up over it and my girl her septum pierced and it honestly looks uneven I will be going back today to see if this is suppose to look like this because I know it’s not…A week later and I had to remove my tongue piercing I have not been able to eat for a week because of how it’s pierced and it hurt sooo bad with this piercing in and now I feel so much better now that it’s out… smh I will never go here ever again I’m so upset I spent 55 on this piercing because I couldn’t even keep it

Sooooooo I went and got my snake bites lip piercing and they are pretty even but I went to get my double nostril done and kept telling the guy that they were uneven so I made a dot and asked him to pierce where I marked it but instead he pierced were he marked and now I have uneven nostril piercings so now I have to wait for the stud to heal so that I can take it out and get it pierced evenly NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL I GO BACK TO THEM 😡😡😡

I went here to have my nose pierced and its a great place! The staff was friendly and CJ, who did my piercing, put me at ease and placed it in exactly the right spot. I definitely plan to go back for my next tattoo.

I got my nose pierced for my Birthday Sept. 9 and Erik did a great job on it! Talked me through it, explained things in detail and he is hilarious!. Made me comfortable, i plan on going back my 18th for a belly piercing.

Got a few small tattoos and the artist basically did a rush job and it turned out horrible! Not only does it look horrible but he went too deep with the needle and my tattoo is scarred! Avoid this place at all cost ! They do not care about their work as artist they are just looking to make a quick buck!

Great experience. I wanted a tattoo worked between two other tattoos and Toby exceeded my expectations. They answered all questions and concerns. I will be back and would recommend them.

I didnt like some tribal that was done on my left arm. Met with Toby, he transformed the tattoo into something Im extremely proud of. I made a follow up appt to add onto another tribal piece I have on my right arm. I really liked the art that I had, and wanted to expand it, he exceeded my expectations beyond my wildest dreams. I thought my tattoo was cool before I went, but now its a masterpiece. I bet if I were to enter the tattoos hes done for me in a competition, theyd win with out a doubt. Cant wait for my next appt!

I went in to purchase a lip ring. I had to wait 15 minutes for the price. They wanted 35 dollars for one ring. I might would have returned had I felt like they appreciate there customers.

I recently took my gf to Explosive Tattoos. We were met with a pleasant greeting. However, the same guy did a 180 and quickly became obnoxious, intolerable, off-putting and foul. He kept telling my gf thats shes selfish for wanting a tattoo to face a direction he didnt agree with. I was really disappointed because he ruined what was supposed to be a memorable experience. Dont waste your time.

I went to get my septum and navel pierced and the piercer was absolutely lovely. The atmosphere is very calm and inviting and I cant wait to get tatted and pierced here in the future.

Amazing at tattoo and ink.But when it comes to piercing. I will NEVER get pierced by their piercer skyler AGAIN. Each time . rejected or infected. Unclean appearance. And touches items before putting on gloves. Even his mannerisms are unprofessional. Bring back Erik

I got my first tattoo done here for my 16th birthday. i decided to get my name done in old english font on my top left shoulder. i guess since this was such a easy tattoo the artist gave it his apprentice for practice. .......big mistake. the out line was good, but his destroyed my skin on the shading. i have huge scars on the inside of some of my letters from him digging into my skin. that aside the place is cool and clean, but specifically ask for one of their professionals to tattoo you....DONT LET THEM PASS IT OFF NO MATTER HOW SMALL THE JOB IS!!

Dropped in today because my 18 yr old daughter wanted a tattoo. Jimmi did an amazing job drawing and incorporating letters into her fleur de lis tattoo (my kid is a Saints fan). The drawing was beautiful, the work was done quickly and pricing was better than expected. This is the second tattoo weve had done at Explosive.

Something’s up.The man with glasses and a bandaid on his chin was very rude. Seemed like he had an issue with the “type” of people we are. Would not accept a passport, mail for proof of address and a birth certificate on top of that.Hmmmmm…Something doesn’t seem right about that. I’ll take my business elsewhere. I think you should too.

Absolutely love this place, dont let their sense of humor through you off. The only place Ill come to. I tried to go somewhere and was unsatisfied compared to explosive tattoo. Plus they do walk ins on Saturdays, make you get there early.

Went in to get a longer bar for one of my body piercings. I was sold a titanium piece of jewelry that ended up not being titanium. I was lied to and as a result I had to deal with a severe allergic reaction that almost lost me my piercing.

This Tat shop is 5 minutes away from me. Already have 3 tats, a philtum, and another tat on the way this week. The artists are very friendly. I love going in there.

They were really nice when I went and got my septum pierced but when I just went to just get my piercing changed it was 20 mins before they close and they said no and wouldnt let me in even though the door said 9 and there were people inside. Not cool.

Honestly if I could choose 0 I would but I can’t ! The staff was so disrespectful . I wanted my nose pierced and he said the rules were you have to be 16 with an ID mind you I was with my mother and he kept waving his hands and saying smart stuff all in our faces
