Can’t say enough good things about Mad Hatter’s Tattoo Studio!! Ken was amazing, he spent a lot of time with my daughter, the end result was this beautiful flower on the back of her hand. Tom was beyond fantastic and made the experience for this tattoo newbie nothing short of fabulous! All I told him was that I wanted a sunflower - absolutely love the result! These pictures do not do justice to Ken and Tom’s work! The detail and artistry is truly amazing! Great conversation (bees, bears and tales of shenanigans!) while there, and lots of laughter! Could not have asked for a better experience!!!! Hope to be back for vacation again next year and will absolutely be going back! Many thanks from 2 grateful Vermonters!

My first time going there, and I met TOM which the man is professional, wicked chill and relaxed. Not my first tattoo but by far the best artist I’ve had. Not only was TOM really damn good but fast and he doesn’t charge an arm and a leg. So wether it’s your first tattoo or not I highly recommend to anyone going to see TOM at Mad Hatters Tattoo Studio 10/10. When I come back to Maine I’m going back there sure

I’ve been picky at who does my tattoos and I found mad hatters my fiance went first to get a tattoo from Tom I wanted to make sure he was good and he did an amazing job on his tattoo so I finally went and I was so happy with my tattoos I got from Tom he’s done 2 pieces already for me . We had an awesome experience here. My mom, sister, and I went in for matching tattoos and Taylor was so helpful with adjusting our design and super patient with my sister and I when we were kicking around ideas to get a second tattoo at the same time. The shop environment was absolutely fantastic. We were in the area on vacation, but I would absolutely make the drive simply to come here for any of my future tattoos.

My fiancé and I walked in on a whim yesterday and the staff was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Tom made us feel comfortable right from the start, taking the time to understand exactly what we wanted. His friendly demeanor and professionalism were evident throughout the process. We’re thrilled with the results and genuinely appreciated how Tom turned what could have been a stressful experience into something enjoyable. Highly recommend his services!

Great service, great prices, and welcoming people! I specifically worked with Taylor there, I was unsure where I wanted my tattoo, but I knew the vibe and concept of what I wanted. She took exactly my thoughts and ideas and ran with it. She did absolutely amazing! She is light handed, careful and always made sure I was comfortable. I asked for a wrap around tattoo around a previous tattoo that I had and I wanted to build off of it, she took exactly what I wanted and made it even better than I could imagine. If you are going to go to Mad Hatter, I highly recommend Taylor!

Went in Friday afternoon with an idea in mind, Tom delivered 100%, adding the little changes I asked for. He did such a great job I came back in with my girlfriend for her to get two tattoos, and I returned Saturday for two more ! I’ve found my long term artist ! The free handed mountains and waves are the day after, the rose is day two !

At the age of 67, I finally made the decision to get my first tattoo. I picked out the design and researched local Studios, reading their reviews. I went to Mad Hatters and the experience and tattoo turned out fantastic. Tom went out of his way to make the experience comfortable, and I left there impressed with his work and personality. There is a definite reason the Studio is so highly rated.

Amazing shop! I’ve had ink done from nearly all over the country (Florida, NC, Cali, I was active duty military). Honestly, Tom Dube is one of the best artists I’ve had the pleasure of tattooing on me! Highly recommend the shop! Very laid back and relaxing atmosphere, no pressure, very flexible with styles, and actual listens to what the customer wants and what they’re trying to go for with the pieces!

This is my #1 go to place!! I’ve been coming here for two years in a row whenever we vacation to OOB. Tom is a phenomenal artist and has done half of the work on my sleeve. After going here for the first time last year, i wont go anywhere else! The other artists there are just as good! Their prices are more than fair and because they only accept walk-ins, you’re guaranteed to get in in a timely manner.

I’ve gotten all three of my tattoos at this location, two of which just last week! For my first image, Tom really brought my idea to life and put his own personal touch that made it that much better. For my second image (Kung Fu Panda), Ken did an amazing job with the shading and detail. Both artists were very cool to be around and were down to earth guys. Overall I couldn’t be more pleased with the service I have received at this shop and look forward to my next visit!

I’ve been wanting to get a simple tattoo for my four kids for awhile now so I thought why not get it during my little impromptu trip to Old Orchard Beach. From the moment I entered Mad Hatter’s, I knew I was in the right place. Ken listened to everything I had to say and created a tattoo that was exactly what I had in mind. Unfortunately, I accidentally wrote down the wrong day on one of the birthdates for my kids and I was so upset with myself but I knew I needed to get it fixed so I went back in two days later and explained to him that I messed up. Ken was nothing short of amazing! He listened to me explain what had happened, giggled with me about it for a minute and then got right to work on creating a way to fix my tattoo. I had come up with some crazy ideas on how I thought I wanted it to be done until Tom stepped in and gave ken and I an idea that ended up working perfectly and now I love my tattoo even more! Everything was clean and sterile and Tom and Ken are so nice and laid back with a great sense of humor which makes the experience even better. Whether this is your first tattoo or 100th, this is the place you want to be! Thank you so much Ken and Tom! I look forward to coming back for my future tattoos.

Absolutely love the tattoo I got my husband brought me here for an anniversary gift an I am more than In love with my tattoo!!!Tom is absolutely amazing an I would recommend him to all my friends an family. Amazing- High quality work. If your looking for a clean tattoo shop with years of experience this is your shop. They charge a fair price for their top notch work. I have had tattoos in Boston, LA, Cape Cod and other spots. This was the best shop yet. Other shops in Old Orchard in the same area were WAY over priced and extremely unprofessional. Tom is a master at his craft and runs a great shop.

This shop holds a special place in the history of Old Orchard Beach. One of the last remaining true walk-in tattoo shops, Tom and Ken go out of their way to make you feel at home and create quality art how you want it. I was in there this past weekend and my best friend and I got matching muffin tattoos. I don’t remember the man’s name that did them but he was amazing. No pain, no scabbing and he was super nice. He really was good. Totally recommend this place and the man that did ours.

Myself and two friends went to get a tattoo this past weekend at Mad Hatters. Ken was the rudest man I have ever encountered. For two of us, this was going to be our first tattoo experience, and thank god it was not. Ken tried to bully us into a tattoo we did not feel comfortable with and when I said I did not want that tattoo, he got aggressive and told me they were supposed to close at 7 and he was trying to get out of there. We understand the importance of work life balance and had no problem waiting until the next morning, however that was not an option presented to us. If we wanted a tattoo, we were going to get what KEN WANTED to put on us, not what we wanted. Rather than a sentimental and special tattoo, Ken tried to brand us with unskilled clip art images. If I was Mad Hatter Tattoo, I would highly recommend removing that liability of an artist and replacing Ken with a new tattoo artist that would attract customers, rather than making them run from your studio.I would like to thank the gentleman who first advised us when we walked in, I believe his name is Brown, who made us feel comfortable, excited and heard us out with what we wanted. I appreciate him for also calling and apologizing on behalf of Ken and how he treated us in the shop. I would also like to thank Tom the other tattoo artist that heard Kens exchange to us and offered to get us in that evening for our tattoos.Unfortunately, we did not go back. Rather than leaving with a tattoo to remember for the rest of our lives, we left being completely disrespected.Take my warning: DO NOT GET A TATOO FROM KEN - if hes not in the mood, your tattoo is going to suffer and that is FOREVER!

Mad Hatters Tattoo is a center for creativity, more than just a tattoo studio. The ability of tattoo artists to turn ideas magnificient tattoos is astounding. They focus on each and every design, creating tattoos that are truly pieces of art. The atmosphere is inviting and comfortable, The artists are friendly with great sense of humor which makes the whole experience fun. Its no wonder they are Maines oldest continually run studio with experienced artists with nearly 80 years of combined experience. Dont pass up the chance by looking elsewhere.

Mad Hatter made me feel so comfortable with my first ever tattoo experience. Taylor talked me threw the hole thing and I enjoyed the experience. I would definitely go back for another tattoo. The place was clean and tidy. I’ve been to some other tattoo shops in Aroostook County and it was dirty and it just didn’t feel right. I had no doubts in my mind when I went to Mad Hatter. Tom was great last year was the first I came to him he tattooed an anchor on my forearm and on 9/18/2023 I cam back and he added a compass to my bicep. Got my first tattoo ever from tom about 3 years ago. Went to his shop to discuss what i wanted with him, and within a few days he designed it himself for me and it came out awesome! He can draw anything and is very artistic. He is a soft tattoo artist, me meaning it doesnt seem to feel like its hurting to bad when its being done, heals very nicely after, and looks excellent years once its been done. Ive gotten several since from him and every time has been equally as good, and a very good time with him talking while its being done. Hes a easy man to talk with, also with your thoughts of what you want, he will give recommendations or let you roll with your own, and a very fun experience. I would recommend tom to anyone for their first tattoo or anymore you would want in your future. Call up tom you wont be disappointed.

Absolutely amazing! I’m am so grateful to have taken a second walk to look around the shops on day 3 of my getaway with my fiancé and been given the opportunity to run into this tattoo shop! Upon walking in, I was very happy with the cleanliness of the place. Tom was with another customer at the time and was extremely professional and devoted to the piece and customer he was working with. The process to sign up to get work done was clearly posted so I wrote down my name and continued on my way. When it was my turn, Tom gave me his undivided attention just like he did to the person before! I found his process to be like no other experience before! Along with the feeling of importance to a complete stranger, I am 100% satisfied with his gorgeous artwork! Extremely affordable is an understatement. Went there yesterday for two tattoos, one for me and one for my boyfriend. Absolutely love my sunflower! It was absolutely hands down one of the best tattoo artists weve ever had tattoo us. My daughter and I stopped in on a Saturday for her first tattoo. They were very busy for a Saturday, but Tay who my daughter and I spoke to was very friendly and put my daughters mind at ease. We waited for about an hour, but Tay did a great fine line tattoo on my daughters ribs of all places and she couldnt be happier. I highly recommend Tay for her patience and detail.

Tom has now done three tattoos for me, I went this afternoon and it was amazing . His work is beyond amazing, He always has wonderful conversation with his customers and is responsible priced.I am beyond in love with what he drew up for me, I told him my idea and he made a beautiful tattoo for what I explained I wanted. Cant say enough good things about this shop. My girlfriend and I stopped in while we were visiting the area and I decided to get my first tattoo. Tom made the experience very easy and enjoyable. Tom is an excellent tattoo artist. He did my daughters tattoo, and it was beautiful! The lines were clean, not thick, and done perfectly. I had Ken as my tattoo artist, and he was very friendly, but his lines were crooked on my tattoo, and very thick. My cousin had the same tattoo as mine done by Tom, and hers was feminine and the lines were straight and not thick at all. I overall am not happy with my tattoo, which is why I gave a 4 star rating.

This is my favorite tattoo parlor in Maine! Brought my Fiancée in today to get her second bumble bee to complete her Bees Knees tattoo she had started last year by Tom and he did a phenomenal job. I made the poor decision of trying to get a stick and poke of a stingray on my arm this summer. It was quite obvious I needed to get it fixed, professionally. I knew of this tattoo place, and I thought it would be amazing to be able to spend the day at OOB, while also getting a tattoo, right there near the beach. Mad Hatters Tattoo place was very clean, air conditioned, and calm.I signed up around late noon time, and was called only a few hours later (they can be very busy some days, first come first serve). He covered my stick and poke, was very polite, talked to me, and made the experience great. It was also cheap, considering he had to cover a stick and poke and made it look completely wonderful. I heard of the tattoo place before, but I was nervous because I didnt know who the tattoo artist was. He did a wonderful job. Beautiful shading, amazing details, great size, overall- my tattoo just came out AMAZING and it looked just like the picture.I totally recommend going here for your tattoo, just be serious about it when signing up and make sure you answer your phone when they do call you (once they make it to you on the list) because if you dont, you will miss out on an incredible tattoo and beautiful art. I love this place!!!! I started my sleeve last summer and was amazed by the work I got done and the price. I continue to come back and get more work added when I can. I only wish I had started coming sooner!! I always have a great experience every time I come in. Tom does great work, he takes what you want done and goes with it, he knows how to place things and bring it all together. He will also on occasion sing to you while he tattoos you lol! I decided to stop in a couple of Saturdays ago to see if they could do walk-ins. Tom was the only artist in the shop and had a sign in list to leave your name and phone number. The list was long but it was a great day in Old Orchard so I left my name. As it transitioned into night it was looking like I wouldnt make the cut by closing time. There are other shops in the area but Toms reviews suggested that he was worth the wait. I was the last on the list, but Tom stayed past the time he was going to close and gave me my fresh ink. After a grueling day of nonstop tattooing he showed interest and enthusiasm in my idea and sketched a fantastic rendition of the lion featured in Finnish flags. True professionalism and at a fantastic price. I would definitely visit Tom the next time you want a great addition to your art collection.

I walked in today a few minutes after opening and instantly felt a great vibe! There was a party of around 6 ahead of me and everybody was so friendly and helpful. Tom was very patient with me as it was my first tattoo and printed the design in different sizes to make sure it was perfect, and even did a second one on me right after and switched the places of it on my body a few times to make sure I was pleased! Hi there! I have gotten most of my art work and tattoos here at mad hatters tattoo shop in Old Orchard Beach, Me. For about a year and a half now. The owner Tom who has thirty four years under his belt, really has carried my ideas to every detail and bringing it to real life on my own body. Taylor rich also has been furthering and stepping up here game. Taylor rich is a “young soul” who found passion in art work in the 8th grade, who wanted to really put her skills to use in the “adult world” now she has been putting her younger skills to the test for two years now, having one of the best tattoo artist in the state by her side come check them out at Mad Hatters Tattoo Studio.

I took my cousin in early July to get her first tattoo. She had been looking since she turned 18 many months before. We were camping in North Conway and took the drive to OOB to meet up with Tom. I got two tattoos, my parents drew a heart each and I got a quote on my hip. It has been years since I had gotten a tattoo. Walked in on a rainy Saturday late morning, knowing I was going to have to sign in and wait my turn. So glad I made the trip and waited. Tom was very professional. I had emailed him a photo of what I wanted inked and within a couple of minutes he had the stencil drawn out and was ready to start.Very happy with the whole experience, will definitely consider becoming a return visitor.

My boyfriend and I both got tattooed by Tom while on vacation Labor Day weekend. He did an amazing job!! Very talented and quick. I expected to be in the chair alot longer than I was. I have received so many compliments on my tattoo. Cant thank you enough!!!!. The only thing I would suggest is maybe getting a sign in book so customers walking in could know what the approximate wait time is. I get that its hard to stop working on a tattoo in progress to greet customers. I did see alot of customers come in that were not acknowledged.
