Black Rose Tattoo & Body Piercing

I have gotten several tattoos at Black Rose, all custom drawn and tatted by the owner, Mike. He listens to my visions and ideas and delivers every time. His color is exceptional! I am constantly complimented on my art. The shop is clean and comfortable, and I have always been treated professionally. My girls have also had their ears pierced here and had a great experience.

I had a cover up done by Darby (hopefully spelled his name right!) and I couldnt be happier with the experience. He took the time to listen and both he and Mike were upfront with what could realistically be done. The tattoo came out perfect..no longer have to look at something that caused me pain, now its a beautiful piece of art! I appreciate this place a lot and highly recommend it. Ill definitely be back!

I don’t normally write reviews but i truly think this should come to attention. i called yesterday to confirm if an appointment was needed for a piercing, the man on the phone was not very polite, and seemed eager to be off the phone. since i was calling in the middle of the day i didn’t know if it was busy, or if it was a bad time, i still wanted to give it a try. he said to come in at 2:30 today and that is what i did, and when i arrived i was told there was no piercer and the gentleman didn’t know when she would be there. truly unprofessional, and disappointing.

I have been going here for years. Have had multiple tattoos and two piercings. Staff was polite and profesenial. Good times , will be back. I certainly reccomend!

No other experience but they say online they are open at noon, in their window open at noon. They are not open at noon, as we were there at noon, and they were not open. So who knows what time they actually open, but its not at noon, lol .

TLDR - Larry is a fantastic piercer and is amazing with kids!!!If you are looking for a piercing, Larry is one of the best you could ask for. I took my 8 year old to get her ears pierced and the experience was fantastic! I really appreciated that once we got into the shop, he looked right at my daughter and asked if this is what she wanted to do. He thoroughly checked the identification papers I brought to verify that she is my child and I could give my permission, which was very reassuring. My daughter had a very hard time with the pain of the first ear and wasnt sure she wanted to do the other ear. Larry was SO patient and encouraging and we got the other ear done! It was just such a good experience for her even though it was painful and she is thrilled to have her ears pierced.Also, shout out to the other artist and his client for cheering my kid on!

Mike is amazing! I had been wanting an industrial piercing for at least 6 months, but I was too chicken to follow through with it. Needless to say, when I finally worked up the courage to do it, I was super scared. Mike was so kind and he talked me through the whole thing. I would highly recommend this shop. Mike & Shane are amazing. The shop is super clean and a great atmosphere. I have had several tattoos done here and love their work. They are the best in the area. If you want quality work, great company and an awesome tattoo experience call these guys.

I love my new tattoo! I went in thinking I was only going to be able to get an estimate but Darby was able to get me in right away. Not only did he give me a great price, the work was amazing! Got my nose pierced here and was very happy with the experience. It was my first piercing and Jessica talked me through what she was doing as she was doing it, and made me super comfortable! Also it was super clean inside, and my piercing came out perfect. 100% recommend

Mike, the owner and awesome tattooer does amazing work and is very professional and personable. I have routinely gone to get an amazing tattoo after amazing tattoo, at times going twice in a week. I have gotten all of my work done at Black Rose Tattoo. The shop is very clean and the crew, Shane is great also.I have referred many friends that have time and time again gone to get work done at Black Rose and as well are very happy with the work. My 15 year old daughter and I came here for some piercings. Second lobe and our first helix/cartilage. We had a great experience with Jessica, she was awesome! She explained the process and some options and was very patient answering our questions. All equipment was in sterile packages and she sprayed down all the surfaces, seats and tables that were used. I would definitely come back here again.

Finally got my ears peirced. Been wanting to for years but just been to scared to take the leap. My best friend went in to get a piercing of her own and from meeting the piercer he was really informative and a pretty rad dude. After seeing her get her nose done with no problems. I figured it was finally time for me to do my ears. It was done in a flash and couldnt tell it happened. They’re a little tender, but Inwas told to expect that for the next few days and to make sure to keep up on my cleaning. Thank you Larry.

They helped me fix a piercing I had done at a different shop. I felt bad asking since it was someone elses mistake. But they made me feel very welcome and took great care of me. I feel so much better now!! Very professional, helpful, and knowledgeable. I would recommend Black Rose for piercing and will, myself, return for any future piercings.

This place is the best. Got my nose pierced and the whole experience was easy and quick. They are super nice. My nose ring fell out after 3 days from a weird fluke and they helped me get it back in and communicated with me super quickly. Highly recommended!

My first impression was wow! the shop is incredibly clean and they were very welcoming. My daughter got a piercing done and Jessica was just awesome!! Would definitely recommend!

I go here to get all my tattoos done by my artist shane. He does amazing work and the atmosphere is super clean and awesome. I have seen the work that Mike the owner has done and his work is top notch as well.

I got a nostril piercing here a little over a year ago and it got infected immediately after and had a terrible keloid. I kept trying to contact the piercer for MONTHS to help me out and he was NEVER there. I ended up going to another place in Roseville to help with the keloid and he changed the stud and gave me an ointment and ever since then I had no problems. I dont have any metal allergies and Ive had several piercings on my nose before so this was completely new. I wouldnt recommend getting a piercing here.

The owner of the shop mike is an amazing artist have bin going to him for 13 years every time he makes sure the work is the best it can be always making sure you are comfortable feeling ok and happy with your purchase. He follows all of Sacramento and Californias blood born pathogens laws all equipment is clean and all guards are in place.

I went to black rose for a nose piercing, the piercer is top notch. Very patient and has an amazing ability to reduce pain. Their prices are great.

Michael and everyone in the shop are super friendly and amazing. Im super happy with how my piece turned out, and the best advice I can give is trust them - they are amazing skilled artist.

Very relaxing place!!! Had my tattoo done by MIKE!! The artwork was the best I’ve ever seen and the colors were 110% on point. Definitely would go back to get any work done! HIGHLY SATISFIED!!!

I went in today to get just a small simple anchor on the back of my ear and its looks terrible. On the bottom of the anchor, one side is thick and short and the other side is thin and long. Plus my fiance said when he was doing my lines that his hand was shaking. Terrible experience. Definitely never coming here again.

Hands down The Best Tattoo Parlor in Sacramento area, I have been coming here for last 8 years, have had 6 Tattoos done by both Mike & Shane and every one is perfect, amazing attention to detail, shading and line work 2nd to none, I just did something I never thought I could do, a 37 year old American Traditional tattoo I had done while in the Navy, it had become a bit faded but felt fine to me as it aged with me, my wife said I should get it redone and hesitantly I did, so far I have just done line work and shading but what a difference, so pictures are of before, now waiting 2 weeks for healing then will post final work, Mike is a gifted artist and have to give props to Jessica she has been there for last 3 visits so for piercings, brow work she is the one,Thanks to all at Black Rose a loyal customer for life

Me and some friends walked in and Mike took great care of us, asked us how we were, what we were up to, and managed to get the three of us pierced in under an hour. Hes my go-to for piercings!

Dirty place bad hygiene . I mean who puts an autoclave in the bathroom? I would highly recommend not getting anything done here. If you dont believe me go there and ask to use the bathroom and see for yourself.

The only shop Ive gone to for years! Clean, comfy, chill environment. Not to mention the best artists and piercers in the business IMO.
