Getting inked by Crystal was an absolute blast! Not only is she incredibly talented it her craft, but she also made the experience fun and enjoyable. If youre looking for a skilled tattoo artist thats also fun to be around... Look nowhere else.

Let me preface this by saying I haven’t been here in about a year and a half. I like the tattoos I got because they are meaningful to me. However, I recently discovered that this place price gouges people. Their shop minimum I believe is $70 (or something along those lines). They charge their fee on top of that. So you are basically paying double. I paid $170 for a small tattoo that’s about an inch and a half long. $220 for a couple of words. And I believe $180ish for one word.

Tava is great, love her she did my septum piercing and it looks so cute! she also did my friends tongue piercing, very professional and makes you feel very comfortable

I stopped by with an issue on a piercing I had done elsewhere, had been anxious for days over it. Tava was so kind to take a look at everything and see what the issue is. Provided me with proper aftercare instructions, helped clean up the piercing and switch out for higher quality jewelry. Will definitely return when I’m ready for my next piercing 🖤

Absolutely love Crystal and both of the piercers! Staff is super friendly and helpful. Ive been a regular since I was 15 and I will absolutely keep coming back. All of the tattoos and piercings Ive received here have turned out beautifully and healed with no issues. Love this place and love these people :)

Kristi pierced my 5 year old daughter’s ears. She was amazing! She was patient and gentle, gave her a goodie bag, and did a “magic trick” to get the earrings in. My daughter didn’t even realize they were done! All staff we interacted with were very nice. Highly recommend this experience over a chain store for your kiddo.

The girl that pierced my naval did not tell me that I was one of the first people she has pierced. I found out after she brought a woman in the room and the woman proceeded to say “ I taught you well”I then went to tattoo jungle a couple weeks later the guy told me she pierced it way to far back and it couldn’t breathe and that they gave me way to small of a bar that I could not clean it. So I had to get it repriced on top of sore tissue.

Piercer was super rude when letting her know where i wanted my nose piercing saying “im not piercing you there, thats so 90’s style and we aren’t in the 90’s anymore” . Once she seemed to accept the placement i wanted she still proceeded to pierce me where she wanted! So disrespectful of my money and body !I hesitated whether to complain or not but everytime i see my piercing i regret not saying anything to avoid being rude or having an argument .

The customer service Kristina had was horrible. In certain professions i feel like you should just be nice. And she didn’t come off nice at all. She was very shallow. And all days aren’t good days but when you’re dealing with people in a customer service form, unfortunately you sign up for everyday to be a good day even if you fake it. Do better girl. Because honestly i almost walked out on her. Guys in the front were nice though

Since college, I haven’t been able to wear earrings due to my ear lobes almost ripping. I chose to let them heal and sacrifice not being able to wear earrings, until today. Kristi with Tattoo Expression is the real deal and I cannot recommend her enough!!!! She and her team welcomed us (everything was so clean by the way), she helped me stay calm, talked me through each step of the process, and was incredibly knowledgeable. I was pretty nervous, which sounds silly, but not only did it not hurt at all but she couldn’t have provided a better experience. I’d give her 12/10 and more than 5 stars if I could! Thank you Kristi!!!! :)

5 stars is not enough for Kristi. She pierced my daughters earlobes and was absolutely FANTASTIC!!!!! She made my daughter so comfortable by doing magic to get the earrings in. I seriously cannot recommend her enough for your childs ear piercings.

I’d give 0 stars if I could. Walked in and asked them if they had time to fit in a walk in small tattoo. The three boys, yes boys at the counter were all on their phones, customer service was awful. The woman that came out and looked at what I wanted, quoted me $250 for a small tattoo. This place was horrible and I was in there only for 5 mins. I couldn’t imagine what it’d be like if I decided to get a tattoo there.

Crystal did a awsome job!!! This was my first tattoo and I absolutely love it. She made me feel so comfortable. If you are looking for a tattoo this is the place to go!!!

At 60 years old, I got my first tattoo here! After meeting Cole, I was very relaxed. He explained the skins aging process to me as well as suggesting an alternate placement of my tattoo. Im so thankful he took the time to do this. It means the absolute world to me! Thank you Cole Cox!

After having a super uneven third hole ear piercing done at a local chain jewelry store, the piercer took the time to use a ruler and measure out the perfect spacing for a third hole correction and a new 4th lobe piercing. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. The shop and piercing room were very clean. All follow up care was super easy to understand and all questions were answered thoroughly! I would definitely return for any additional services and have already recommended to friends and family!!

Definitely not a good place to go for a piercing. They did not use the proper instruments to do piercings. I had to go to Birmingham to get my piercing removed. I’m glad I did it as soon as I did.

Kristi was AMAZING! She pierced our 4 year old daughters ears and let me tell you there were Z E R O tears. She still thinks that the earrings flew into her ears with the magic! Kristi took her time and talked with our daughter, explained everything she was doing but with toddler terms - like her finger (aka needle) was going to poke to make sure her ear was numb - just amazing! Crystal did a fantastic job on my gestalt Panda Brooks. I wasnt expecting the detail on the inner ears, but after 2 weeks it started to show up. The green eyes match my own. I simply love it!

I got my naval pierced here and she was amazing! She took my metal allergy into concern (they sell titanium!!) and she was very helpful on the healing process!!

I had an amazing experience here last night. Me and 3 of my girlfriends went in. Justin took care of me. He was so patient, so kind and he even kept checking to make sure I was OK since it was a long sitting. They have great prices and are easy to work with. Everyone was friendly and so cheerful. I have been very happy with this place. Kristi, Mrs. Swann (Forgive me, I dont remember her first name) and all of their coworkers have been so great to my friend Rachel and I and have gone above and beyond my expectations. Not only did they save me from a hospital visit due to a bad piercing done at Tattoo Jungle, they absolutely make sure that what you get done is correct and make sure to give you a proper fitting jewelry. So I asked for a male to pierce my nose because I felt more comfortable with a male doin my nose piercing!!! But there was only two women there so I was like that’s fine!! I guess the lady (Hannah) felt some type of way after I said that I wanted a make to do my piercing but I said it before I knew she was piercing my nose…. I didn’t mean to throw shots of that’s what she was thinking! But when I went to the back I was like can I record and she was like no I said why and she said because we don’t allow it🫤 I really think she said that because I said I wanted a male to do my piercing🤦🏾‍♀️so she told me to close my eyes before she put the needle in and I was like I can’t because if I don’t know it’s coming I’m going to move so I would rather look to prepare my self and then she was like If your not going to do it then I’m gonna have to ask you to leave😕she had already took her gloves off and she was making me very uncomfortable at the time!! She didn’t even want the lady at the front to check us out… I wouldn’t say I don’t recommend coming here but I wouldn’t want her to do anything for me….she is very impatient I don’t think this job is for hurt👎🏾 YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE THE PERSON COMFORTABLE AND LET THEM PREPARE THEMSELVES

They take time to measure for accurate placement when piercing. They also ask if you like your placement and make sure you feel accommodated. Would recommend.

Got a tattoo today by Blake and he was super nice and was very good since it was my very first tattoo. I highly recommend you go see him or Crystal who did my husband tattoo also today... We will most definitely use them when we are ready for another tattoo.

Horrible and rude. I understand. It’s a tattoo shop and normal business rules. Do not always apply. We had ahead of time to see what time they close. Fridays and Saturdays at 10. The only thing my daughter wanted for her birthday was her belly button pierced. I am tired nights and around this moment. We made it to the door and hand formed as they were closing. While we sat in my car looking for another shop, we watched five people take their time suddenly leaving the store off for actually 9 o’clock. I’m upset because I don’t get a lot of chances to do something special for my daughter. It was something that meant a lot to her for her birthday and ruined her night. If they just would’ve been friendly and nicer to her, I think she would’ve felt differently.. just sad. It’s still the only thing she wanted. Looking like they’re the only place open today between two and seven that compares in the area we needed to find someone in . Praying to God they do a good job and it’s worth it for her. I would not go.

Ive gotten a handful of piercings done and all have healed wonderfully and been Pierced well. Very chill environment and its always done very quickly :)

Came here for a simple smiley piercing. There was only a few people ahead of me and one with an appointment. After that the piercing then began taking people back and looking right over me. People who came in after me and did not have an appointment. It only adds insult to injury that I was the only black person in there. I don’t know these people personally, but I was not a pleasant experience. If that is how you fun a business it’s best you just don’t.

I walked in to get my nose pierced a couple of months ago and Kristi did such a good job on it!!! I went in today for my very first tattoo and the artist did such an amazing job!! I was speechless!! Definitely getting Raf to do all of my tattoos in the near future!! Definitely helped me go through my first tattoo with so much ease! He was so kind to talk to!!!!

Christy is an amazing piercer. She did a fantastic job with my daughters double helix piercing. She noticed right away that she was feeling woozy and did everything she could to make her feel better before she would let us leave. I felt like we were in amazing hands!

Tava did my ear piercing and had me in and out in under 15 minutes! FANTASTIC! Didnt have any pain or swelling. Its the day after service and Im great still no pain swelling etc. Im very pleased 110%. Thanks for a job well done😀👍

I chose Tattoo Expression for my forward helix piercing and rook piercing jewelry change because of the rave Google reviews- and the experience did not disappoint! Kristi was the kindest, most knowledgeable piercer I have ever worked with, she made me feel at ease by explaining everything to me, and helping me with my breathing during the piercing! This was money well spent and I was so impressed by the shop and the staff. If you want your piercings done well and correctly, go here!!!

I had never been in a tattoo parlor before I had come here so as a complete virgin in the art of inking, piercing and bodily modification I was utterly relieved and delighted with my experience here. I love the decor and atmosphere of the store and the staff was very professional, polite and made sure to answer any questions and was overall very transparent and helpful to me as a first time customer. They were also very reassuring to any anxieties about the procedure. I would consider this a very good first experience and I would highly recommend for those in the area who are seeking any services in regards to tattoo art and body piercings.

I got 2 lobe piercings and a Helix piercing here the other day! I was super nervous going in since I haven’t had my ears pierced since I was 5... but let me tell you... Hannah made me so comfortable. She was super nice and informative throughout the whole experience. I would definitely go to her again next time I get a piercing done!

I recently got my septum piercing done here and my girlfriend and her cousin both got their nostrils done. Tava is AMAZING! She was very kind, patient, and professional. She made sure that we were happy with our placements, and that we were comfortable enough before starting. She talks you through everything so calmly and it really helped my nerves settle down some. I would recommend her a million times to anyone for any type of piercing!

My 3.5 year old requested that her ears be pierced in July. I told her after the summer we would get them pierced so that I didnt have to worry about the water--pool/lake/beach. I had planned on getting them pierced at her pediatricians office, but due to covid, they werent doing piercings. In researching other places that will pierce, I came across Tattoo Expressions. I called and asked if they could pierce my 3 year old (yes) and what items are needed (her birth certificate and my id). Our experience was amazing. Miss Kristi was personable and very friendly. She was patient with my daughter and made it so that my daughter barely noticed when she was pierced. No tears! I highly recommend them!

Went in this past Saturday night for two dermals on my cheek. The woman that did them was super professional, friendly, kind and reassuring. Her name was Kristi! I highly recommend going to her for all your piercing needs 😊

I had to come on here and just say how amazing Garrett was today . This was my first huge tattoo in many many years I was very nervous , and he definitely lightened the situation he was very funny very professional he did such an amazing job on my tattoo everyone I have shown it to has said that it was absolutely amazing it was very clean and just how well it looks I am so happy with the way it turned out he did an amazing job keeping me relaxed the tattoo took an hour and a half I decided to stop going to go back for the shading ! But I can’t say enough good things about him anyone want a good artist Garret is the man ! I know just from showing my tattoo today my friends will be going to see him as well for work ! I got my nostril pierced by Tava and they took the time to make sure it was perfectly aligned with my nostril piercing on the opposite side. The staff is super professional and knows what theyre doing. This is the first place Ive gone to that has handed me a printed out aftercare sheet which was awesome! Ill definitely be back:)

Just got my navel pierced not even an hour ago by Tava. She was clean, quick, and super welcoming. As soon as i walked in i felt so welcome and at ease. Crystal was super helpful while helping fill out forms and just made me and my mother feel so welcome. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone. 10000/10000

They were great! We drove 6 hours to the artist there, Crystal Swan, to continue work on a sleeve that shes been working on for a while. While there, they had a friendly, clean environment. The other people there were nice and polite. Crystal also has a gentle hand and does a good job with the tattoos.

I was looking for a place to get a simple black tattoo done and found this place. I was super impressed with them! Their shop was super neat and clean and everyone their was super friendly and helpful. Not only did I get my simple tattoo I wound up getting a realistic tiger tattoo that I have been wanting to get done for years but have been unable to find an artist that I have seen work from that I was willing to trust to do it. I saw Justins work and had him do one on me. I absolutely LOVE it. He is a super artist and my tiger is absolutely outstanding! I cannot say enough about how great his work is. I highly recommend them!

I’ve gone to Tattoo Expression for all of my piercings and each time I’ve been served with great service and piercers who take care of me if I end up being lightheaded afterwards. Great place definitely coming for all piercings

They had cheap surgical stainless steel jewelry. Im normally pierced with titanium with 18 karat gold covering it. I bought some nose rings but they look like something I could have got off Amazon way cheaper. Its been some days and Ive not had a reaction to this in my nose so hopefully I wont since my piercing is healed. The lady that changed out my jewelry was very nice and did a great job. Would I go get a piercing with surgical stainless steel there? No titanium only. Too many allergies. They assured me theres no nickel in these but time will tell.

Great service, love Tava for all shes done, and otherwise awesome staff. Piercings have all been great when done by her, but one staff worker with brown hair (dont know her name) has never shown where she put the dot, and piercings have been in wonky places. She doesnt put the ball on all the way, and it falls off halfway back home. Otherwise I love this place, very solid.

I visited several places around Birmingham and was very discouraged but happily I ended up at Tattoo Expression in Pelham. Vincent was super nice and understood exactly what I wanted. I love the final result. I highly recommend Vincent and the shop!!

I went to get 3 conch piercings, didnt have enough to eat so I almost passed out on the second one. Kristi took such good care of me to help me get back to homeostasis. Gave me a coupon and told me to come back when I was feeling better and swelling went down. They really take care of you there. Only place Ill go to get pierced

Idk who is running this place but for one, its absolutely not sanitary to be slathering mayonnaise on bread in the middle of the shop and saying youre only sometimes open and on top of that having an extremely flaky piercer. Obviously both tattoo expressions are aware their piercer is flaky as I called the Birmingham location and you have to call just to make sure shes even there on her scheduled days. I recommend Revolution Ink 100% over this place after this experience.

Crystal Swann does amazing work. Shes VERY professional. Shes done 3 of my tattoos. Never had trouble with any of them ! All I can say is you get what you pay for. You want an amazing tattoo done by an amazing artist ? ASK FOR CRYSTAL SWANN. I promise you wont regret it

Recently got a second hoop in my nose done by Tava along with my girlfriend getting her septum and my cousin getting her first piercing ever. Needless to say nerves were on edge but, as soon as we walked through the doors the nervousness all went away with how Tava treated us and made us feel as if we were at home. Customer service was beyond expectations and patience was absolutely incredible not to mention the piercings went as smooth as you could possibly imagine. Will forever support and respect this shop and the employees who work here you guys are awesome!! Thank you again Tava!!

Went in for a nose piercing for my daughter. Tava was our piercer and she was fantastic! She covered all the things to do and especially what not to do. She walked us through the entire process and if I were to get a piercing I would go see her.

Artist are very professional and not just interested in popping a tattoo on you any old way, but they take the time to size and place the tattoo where it will look the best, and at the same time respecting how it fits and looks next to work you already have, and staying mindful of surrounding space for future tattoos. Really hard to find shops that actually care about your tattoo as if it was their own! And some of the best Artist in the business have landed here at this shop! very impressed with the professional experience and look forward to coming back!

I went in with a piercing issue on a piercing that was done at another shop. Everyone was super nice, listened, and made sure I was well informed on what was happening and how to correct it. Tava examined the peiricing , cleaned it and gave a few instructions to help fight off a possible infection. Also setting up another visit back to check back on progress or possible next step for my healing process. They were so helpful that I wont be going back to the shop who did the previous work. Tava and other staff have my business from now on.

I got my tongue web pierced this past Friday and on a pain scale it was a 7/10. Never in my life have I ever experienced a piercing so painful and I know that everyones experience is completely different but Ive been told by many different people, even professionals that this piercing should be painless. Turns out the piercer actually pierced my muscle too and put in a barbell that was WAY WAY WAY too small to accommodate for swelling. My tongue ended up swelling so bad that I couldnt even swallow my saliva because it was so painful. With the barbell being to small, it actually engulfed one side of it and grew over. I ended up going to a different shop today to get it looked at but in the end, they had the cut one side of my tongue and pull the whole barbell out of my tongue. The craziest part of this whole experience is getting the jewelry cut out of my mouth was actually A LOT more pleasant than getting pierced. I actually called Tattoo Expression and I explained what happened to the girl who answered and all she said to me was and? acting like it wasnt a big deal. I guess, the piercer wasnt the only one who made a mistake because I did choosing tattoo expression. If anyone is looking to get a new piercing, just go somewhere else.

Very friendly all the staff are so cool. And clean. Loved the music and my tattoo artist Crystal was so sweet. Very precise it took a second to get those stars right but she did it.

Ive never been tattooed by them but I have gotten two nose piercings and the staff is very friendly and warm. Id say they are more welcoming than many of the shops in the area.

DO NOT GET YOUR EARS PIERCED HERE. i went in a while ago and wanted a double cartilage piercing. i had read reviews and was educated on how clean a place should be etc. they were friendly and talked me through everything. but when it came to the actual piercing, they used the same needle for both piercings. HUGE NO NO (but i didnt know that at the time.) although i was educated, i wasnt as educated as i could have been. but any credible piercer will know not to use the same needle on multiple piercings regardless that its the same person getting pierced. if youre looking for a good cleanly piercer go to revolution ink down the road. they show you the sterile process in the room and they use sterile gloves where as here they used just clean ones. i ended up losing the piercings and wasting over $90. please educate yourselves!

Got my nose pierced here about a year and a half ago by Crystal, very pleased with the overall experience! Will definitely return in the future, hopefully for ink next time.

I always come in here for my piercing needs, this last time I got my second tragus done by Tava, she is so nice and helpful, I will be back for more soon.

Me and my friends drove an hour here to get a few peircing’s done and their website clearly states that they are open on sundays. So we get here and there’s no one here. I find it ridiculous that they can’t even put a correct time on their website. Very unprofessional.

A bit over priced for one small tattoo. 😞One of the artist didnt seem interested in doing the job (his demeanor) when asked his availability. Which was a definite turn off for us. 🤷‍♀️The place seemed clean and well ran.

I got my belly button pierce about a month ago and the girl who did mine, did it crooked and the jewelry that I got from them broke and fell out so I had to go buy a new jewelry piece to put back in so it wouldnt heal over.
