Great experience here as an out-of-towner - Harley was able to take me as a walk-in immediately. He worked with me on my design and made sure it was what I want but also a design that would with the size and placement. He was very friendly and experienced. The tattoos are awesome. I’d like to come back and get something more because his portfolio is great.

Were here visiting from Western Massachusetts. I tried a walk-in today. The artist George was really cool. He took time helping my tweak my idea. I didnt feel rushed at all. He was one of the coolest people ever. I love my new tattoo & George made my day. Highly recommend.

My friends and I had a great experience here. We wanted matching tattoos as a souvenir from Sedona. George and Adam did an amazing job and we absolutely love how it turned out. Great shop! Great guys. Easy to get along with. No attitude, just friendly tattoo dudes with TONS of experience. George and Harley both care about giving their customers a great tattoo and a nice experience, whether its a souvenir tattoo from your Sedona vacation to an epic sleeve to show your rebellious side. The shop is super clean and sterile and the guys use disposable single use products. Bandaging and after care instructions were handled with long term customer care in mind. I would highly recommend Ascension Tattoo to anyone! 😊👍👍👍

Great shop and Adam was amazing! While my friend and I were on vacation we decided to get tattoos. We were walks ins and he was able to get us in the very next day. He was friendly, funny and accommodating. The price was reasonable and shop minimum was clearly posted. We had wonderful experience and are head over heels for our tattoos! Thank again Adam!

I cannot think of enough good things to say about Harley as both a tattoo artist and a person! I messaged him with relatively short notice about wanting a desert themed souvenir tattoo for my Christmas trip to Arizona, and he went out of his way to accommodate me! The tattoo is beautiful, bold, and done exceptionally well, everywhere I go I have strangers complimenting it and occasionally grabbing my arm and asking who did it. The overall experience was great and Harley is an absolutely lovely guy to hangout with while he works on you. I plan on returning for another piece when I inevitably take another trip to Arizona and I can’t recommend this shop enough!

George was amazing! This was my first tattoo and he made me feel so comfortable and did such a good job and worked together with me to create something I was in love with!

I was vacationing and stopped in for a tattoo of a Corvid I had been thinking of getting. From our balcony we watched daily flights of paired Ravens flying in the canyon. I decided it would be my spirit animal Raven and I really liked the idea of having it done in Sedona. Ascension Tattoo was rated highest and I was staying close by. I walked in on a weekday, was greeted and offered an opening right away.

My daughter and I went to Ascension to get tattoos together. Adam was her artist and George was mine. Both gentlemen were very professional and took their time drawing what we wanted. We are so happy with them. I actually got two little tattoos with fine lines and George did an exceptional job. My daughter got one bigger tattoo and it is even better than the reference photos she brought in. We will definitely be back!

This was my first tattoo and I could not have had a better experience with George. I told him what I wanted and he was very upfront and honest. His design for me was perfect. My 18 year old daughter and I were in Sedona (from Massachusetts) as a graduation gift to her and some mom and daughter time before college. We have so thoroughly enjoyed our time in Sedona that we wanted to commemorate with new tats. This would have been my fifth and my daughters sixth. We dont have sleeves by any means but were also not newbies. We do our research and know what we want.First off, the parking sucks! Seriously bad. Then we walk in and there is a couple in front of us and no one greets any of us for a while. I get it. They are busy with customers and obviously have to pay attention to what they are doing. They should probably have a receptionist of some sort.Finally someone comes out and brusquely asks, so are any of you looking to get tattoos? Well yeah. Duh. He asked the couple ahead of us what they want and after listening tells him that he wont do it. Then he asks my daughter. She wanted hand/finger tats. He said that they dont do those either. That they fall off and then they get blamed. (Mind you, the man has tats all over his hands) My daughter has done all her research and understands that she will most likely have to get them refreshed/repaired down the line and would have been willing to sign something releasing the parlor from any liability.The artist certainly has a right to refuse to do anything but he was so rude to each of us and then just left me and my daughter sitting there without even asking me what I was looking for or if I still wanted to get one. Just walked right back into the back room and left us there. So rude. So in about a minute and a half, he turned away 3 paying customers. Business must be good.Btw, we went to another parlor and after explaining the risks to my daughter, stated that its ultimately not their business to deny what the INFORMED customer wants and that he only refuses to do anything gang related or anything considered hate speech and that art is in the eye of the beholder. He did a lovely job and had a peaceful and respectful energy.In this writers humble opinion, Ascention only wants to do what they feel is artistic and didnt want to be bothered with our simply stated ideas. Im thrilled that they turned us away as this allowed us to have a much more positive experience elsewhere. There are many options in the area that you really dont have to accept being treated rudely. Ive never begged anyone to accept my business and I certainly wasnt starting there. Artists can choose to do what they want and refuse what they dont want but do it kindly and compassionately. No need for rudeness. Maybe it was just a bad day but after reading the other negative reviews, Im inclined to think not. Peace.

My best friend and I took a trip to Sedona. This was my first time and I was blown away by the beauty and magic of Sedona. We have gotten bestie tattoos before and decided last minute to get some here in honor of the magic of Sedona. We found Harley Goodson at Ascension Tattoos and loved his work so reached out with only 2 days left on our trip. He responded quickly and made time for both of us. The tattoos are truly AMAZING as his artwork is incredible. Not only that but Harley is a cool dude and we all vibed well. Definitely coming back to Sedona and will make a trip to see Harley and get another tattoo when in town. Thanks so much man. You friggin rock!!

My cousin and I are from San Diego. We come to visit a friend once or twice a year and have, in recent years, added tattoos to our souvenir list when we come out. After 4 tattoos by these guys at this shop, I thought it was time I gave them the review I felt they deserve.After my most recent visit, I can add George to my list of artist Ive had the pleasure of getting inked by at Ascension Tattoo. My first visit was with Adam, the second was with Chris.Each one of these guys are great at what they do. They took the time to draw out what we wanted, go over design pointers, and make sure that you are happy with the plan. Not only do they ensure you are getting the art you want, they are also all very open about the placement, size, and concept and will blatantly tell you if the tattoo is going to last. (This time I had originally gone in for a behind the ear piece and decided on something different since what I wanted was likely to turn into blobs down the road...). George was patient and extremely helpful while I worked through a new option on the spot. We settled for a dragon as originally planned, but in a different style and redrawn by George with some super sweet modifications. George is a great artist, I really got a kick out of how much enjoyment he got and expressed from doing the tattoo.Tips for when you enter the shop:1. Shut the door when you come in! Its hot out there and theyre cooling their shop with individual units. Its definitely cool and comfy inside, but a lot of folks expect the door to shut behind them and let the air out. :)2. If all of the artists are working in the back, walk in by the archway and talk to them. The cant hear you if youre standing in the lobby. :)Overall an awesome experience, great pricing, oh and did I mention theyre fast too?! So you get quality, professional, beautiful artwork, at a great price, and bonus, youre not under the needle any longer than you have to be.See you guys again on the next visit!!

George is the best!! Walked in without an appointment and he was so so so nice! I was a little nervous at first but after meeting George I knew I would love my tattoo! He helped with placement and even gave me ideas about how I can develop my piece in the future! Such a fun guy to talk to, does great work, and definitely made this a fantastic experience. Our group of four has used Ascension for tattoos on two different weekend trips. On the most recent trip we got tattoos by Adam and Chris. Both artists are super talented and know what they’re doing. We received great guidance as far as placement and design and all of us chose completely different designs. Couldn’t be happier with our experience! And the views out the back are spectacular!

Cool people and good vibes. George and Harley are both awesome guys and artists. George is a cool friend and top-notch at what he does. I definitely trust him to create quality traditional-style tats that will endure over time.When these guys tell you ideas on how to improve your tat design, especially when it comes to sizing, level of detail, and aging, listen and don’t take it personal because they’re just looking out for you and trying to make tattoos that they can guarantee will hold up well over time. Not all designs will, but these guys are mindful about creating work that will last.Come in, kick back, and have a nice conversation while getting some art inked on your skin.

We got tattoos done by George and Harley while on our family vacation and wedding and we couldn’t be happier! George even stayed extra late to allow half of us to get ours done because of scheduling for our week! He was amazing and I would recommend him soooo much! Thank you guys, you’re the best! While in Sedona, I wanted to get a tattoo, it was a last minute thought. This shop was the only ones offering walk-ins. Friendly place, good people. Only complaint is the shop minimum was $60 which was misleading since my few lines cost me $100. I think either raise the minimum or be more upfront on the cost.

Stopped here on a last minute idea. Walked in, no appointment. Was able to get a tattoo on the spot along with my guest. He was amazing. So chill. Easy to talk to. Gives advice about spots and location and pros and cons. He will not sugar coat anything which is good especially for a life long tattoo. Pulled a image from Google and he tweaked it a bit to make it look better. Did amazing work. When I come back to Sedona, Ill be going again!

I was a part of 10 loud, giggly ladies and theydies who came in for matching tattoos.They got us in and out in under 3 hours!!! The tattoos are exactly what we want. We had a blast and walked away with exceeded expectations.

My husband and I got tattoos as walk ins. Clean shop, kind atmosphere, beautiful view. Everyone was extremely welcoming. George was our artist. Nice clean line work and great conversation. Highly recommend for a wonderful experience.

I had my main man George help me out today and I absolutely love the work he did for me. He improved upon a picture I pulled from Pintrest and made it better. He is a master of his craft and I will probably be going back before my vacation is through! Also the price for the size i got was amazing. Highly recommend this shop.

This place is AWESOME. My friend and I went in for spontaneous tattoos and we were in such good hands. We showed our ideas to the artists (Adam and another man, I wish I remembered his name Omg I feel so bad) and since there were a few folks ahead of us, they told us theyd give us a call in an hour when our designs are ready and they are available to tattoo us. In less than an hour, they let us know they were ready and ohh my god, youd think we were the only customers in based on how personable and professional they were. Gorgeous tattoos, fun conversation, clean space, just perfect. Cant recommend them enough! Also maybe this is overkill, but as two young women, we felt so comfortable with the artists.

I have had several tattooing sessions (around 20 hours of chair-time) with Harley and Ive been continuously amazed at how well he is able to translate my tattoo ideas onto my skin. He takes his craft very seriously and has a tremendous amount of talent that I have watched him put to work again and again. The tattoo shop itself is very clean, inviting, and the other artists are fun to talk to and show incredible dedication to their clients. I wouldnt go anywhere else for my tattoos -- highly recommended

Amazing 👏Travelled from Australia to get a Navajo tattoo.Found an awesome tattoo palor and did a walk-in. Staff were great, and they took the time to discuss the design. Adam did an amazing job on capturing a touquoise gem.I would highly recommend.

George was the bomb! He was patient and extremely friendly. We called in mid day to potentially get on the whim tattoos and George said come on in! He was honest and genuine. We all thoroughly enjoyed our visit today and will definitely be coming back for more artwork done by him.

Having been tattooed at a few other shops in AZ, I can say without a doubt that Ascension has been the best experience out of them all. Both Harley and George are stand up dudes who will treat you with respect and work with you to tattoo exactly what you want. Harley has taken my old tattoos and reworked all of the lines and color (amazing line work here) and tied them in with the new work, while adding a depth and dimension that I could have never imagined. I value their eye for placement of the work and being honest with me to let me know what art presents well on different places and what doesn’t. Highly recommended, you won’t be disappointed.

If you dont mind a bad attitude and very impatient, then this is the place for you. Does a pretty good job, just did not have good vibes the whole time. And he will tell you where the nicest place is you need that tattoo instead of letting you choose. So good luck...

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ASCENSION TATTOO!Ive known Harley for many years and recently decided to have some more work done after a 25 years of living with the same tattoos. Harley did 2 new pieces on my arm, refreshed 2 of my 25 year old tattoos (brought them back to vibrant life) better than the originals, and did a half sleeve cover-up of two more 25 year old tattoos on the other arm.Needless to say everywhere I go people complement the work and ask who the artist was. The shop in Sedona is beautiful, spacious, and clean. Located right on the main strip as you near the last round-a-bout and upstairs with beautiful mountain views and Oak Creek running below.Harley is a modest person and world traveler, he is truly an artist and paints canvas in his off time. He will listen to your ideas and seems to always implement the perfect design and body placement based on your input and his artistry.Georges work is also impeccable. His attention to detail, knowledge, and love for tattooing shows in every aspect of his process. His fine detail work is superb, quite frankly amazing and mind blowing from what I witnessed in the shop that day.So wether you live in Arizona or youre just visiting Sedona, you cannot go wrong setting an appointment or catching a walk-in spot with either of these fine artists.

My friend and I were tattooed by Adam on July 3rd. Adam was very nice, and did an amazing tattoo on my leg, as well as one on my friends. The pricing was reasonable, and well worth every penny. I will definitely make the trip back from Pennsylvania just to get more ink from here again. I highly recommend coming here if you’re looking for great quality and an atmosphere like no other

Worst *attempt* at a tattoo experience of my life. My family was in Sedona for a week and wanted to get matching tattoos of our experience.We talked to someone at the shop on Tuesday, discussed about what designs we wanted, gave a deposit for 4 people and set an appointment for that Friday. Or so we thought…Walked in on Friday, two completely different artists were there, and one was very rude to us asking why we were there and told us we had no appointment. So we had to take our money and leave Sedona without a tattoo… Would have gone to another shop if we knew we would get stood up

Clean, well sanitized tattoo parlor. Fresh new sterile needles, I know cos I watch the sealed packets being opened before use. Great attention to detail. My tattoo guy has great vision and concept ideas and can build on verbal and visual concepts to create awesome master pieces. He is attention to detail is phanominal.

Back in October, my wife and I visited Arizona for the first time - staying in Sedona! As opposed to settling for a fridge magnet or a coffee mug to commemorate this adventure, we opted for something permanent! Ascension Tattoo was highest rated in the greater Sedona area, so we called and spoke w/ Harley! Not only is he professional and friendly, he is truly skilled @ his trade! Walked in to ask about how the shop worked with walk-ins and appointments. I was on vacation and wanted to get a tattoo symbolizing the state. They ignored me when I can through the door and when I finally spoke to someone he made me feel like I was bothering him. Never went back, customer service was a turn off.

I had a terrible first tattoo experience there and literally had my artist change the design on the table. He even told my friend now watch this and completely changed my stars in my tattoo and now that are slightly blacked out 😭
