INDEPENDENT TATTOO

My husband and I came here for a tattoo while on vacation. We walked in to set up an appointment and chatted with Tasha - who set us up with an appointment with Justin later in the week. Everything was professional and personal!While we were there - EVERY artist was kind and it felt like being in a room of friends. Everyone chatted and were supportive. We were able to see other tattoos being done while we were getting tattooed, and they all looked to cool!We got AMAZING tattoos (I did a get what you get and my husband got a raven designed by Justin). Justin was friendly, curious, and has a great artistic eye. He made sure we loved what we were getting and was not afraid to make suggestions to make things look better/more even/read better. He really cared about the after.They went above and beyond with aftercare goodies, and even pointed us to an amazing taco place for lunch.10/10 will absolutely be coming back next time we are in the area

Tres Denk!!! He is the absolute best did me and my husbands tattoos. We went in for the consultation and sat down and spoke about our ideas. Had an appointment a couple of days later to get our tattoos and I am absolutely pleased! Thanks Tres for making this a wonderful experience appreciate all you do. Highly recommend this artist.

Definitely recommended 💯. Tres took his time designing my first tattoo. Gave me options when I presented my idea and style I was going for. It definitely came out better than what I imagined. As for my husband, although he didnt get the entire tattoo done of what he wanted due to a time frame, he is very happy with the outcome. The next time we go back to Ocean City for vacation, well definitely stop by again!

Couldnt be more pleased with the work that Justin did. But the overall experience was top notch as well, with everyone friendly and accommodating. Shout out to Tasha as well. I will highly recommend this place and Justin in particular.

These guys are straight up awesome…. Decided on a whim to get matching tattoos with my lady…. Called and left a message after hours explaining what we wanted….. Tasha, who is super cool on her own, called back the next morning and had us in there that afternoon for a consultation with Tres… he nailed the design and we were getting tattooed by the next day…. Tres killed it with the tattoos and was a really cool guy to talk to. They were thorough and professional, but also super welcoming and created a chill atmosphere…. The work turned out way better than what we wanted and I’m going back for Tres to finish a half sleeve in the near future for sure….. Tres Denk is the GOAT! My brother-in-law and I had a last-minute, spontaneous idea to get matching egghead tattoos that high-five while we were on vacation. Tres brought the idea to life and executed the tattoo perfectly. Great guy, great atmosphere. Highly recommend. We will be back!

Visiting ocean city, we wanted matching tattoos. We looked around for the cleanest shop and most reputable. Clean shop, clean lines, artist was amazing and very respectful.

I had an Amazing experience. Matthew Amey is an Awesome artist and I would gladly return to get more tattoos from him. Thank you Matt and Jim for being so welcoming and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process. This was my first tattoo and I got a half sleeve on my upper arm which took 3 sessions. It turned out so Awesome and I cant wait to show it off to everyone. I highly recommend Independent Tattoo!!

Wonderful! Two staff employees that helped me via phone and in person were very accommodating and kind, going out of their way to make sure all was set up well. Artist was Matthew 10/10 would recommend!! Beautiful clean lines, detail oriented, incredibly patient while I was talking through design and perfecting tattoos body placement. All around nice guy who will make sure youre comfortable, talented, and seems to truly care about his work. Did I mention clean lines???!! Both of my pieces were very simple, minimalist yet hugely significant to me/my family and Matthew’s attention to detail and level of care was hugely appreciated. Go check them out :)

Probably one of the best atmospheres of any tattoo shop Ive ever walked into. The entire staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They pick each others brains for ideas and opinions. I was here for over 7 hours yesterday. These guys really care about their customers and love what they do. Justin Call did a cover up for my wife and a cover up/add on for me. They definitely gained 2 customers for life. I wouldnt even think about walking into another shop after coming here. Already looking forward to my next visit. Keep up the great work and friendly atmosphere!!!!

James is not only talented but also super professional. Felt comfortable the moment I met him and couldnt be happier with his work. You will be lucky if you get a chance to have him tattoo you.

I am visiting from out of town and I wanted these 2 tattoos for a while. My consultation was without an appointment. I just walked in and it was a good vibe immediately. I was guided away from a bad 💡 idea during my consultation thank you💯❤️. I came back the next day to be handled with such care & professionalism. Thank you so much for the best tattoo experience. Their artists are extremely talented yet humble enough to consult with one another for input. The in house chatter offers an air of relaxation while getting a tattoo. This is my second tattoo, Justin Call did both of mine and I will continue to see him in the future.

I dont have any tattoos butt my daughter does and Ive never gone with her to get it done but while we were on vacation in Ocean city MD my daughter wanted to get one in memory of her father and Ive always had a fear that they werent sterile environments so to help ease my fear they gave me a tour and even though Im against tattoos it made me more at ease, and the staff were very sweet and they did a great job on her memorial tattoo this is why Im posting this so other Mothers arent scared knowing their child is getting ready to get a tattoo now u cant get it done in Ocean city but u can in Fenwick Delaware which is only 17 miles from 8th street in Ocean city hope this helps here is the tattoo they did on her she also mentioned that out of all the tattoos she has this one didnt really hurt and she is very skinny and she also said it was and is shocked by how detailed the artist made it...

I have four tattoos and have gotten them all here. First one was 12 years ago and just got these two this summer. Tres is the man!!! Clean, safe, quick and great customer service. A must if you want a new ink done.

My second tattoo but first time at Independent Tattoo. Nellie did such a great job at communicating before, during, and after my tattoo and it turned out better than I imagined!! Everyone was so nice here. Already thinking about what tattoo I want next!

My wife and I got matching wedding bands for our first anniversary. Everyone is so friendly, and we had a great experience! We will definitely get more tattoos here :)

Matthew A. is an excellent artist, but he often speaks faster than he thinks. His comments are often rude and far from welcoming to his clients. Not exactly a great way to keep people coming back. At least most of the staff are friendly.

Just got done here with my fourth tattoo. I LOVE it. Thank you Justin! The lines are super clean and it came out exactly how I wanted it to be. I’ll definitely be coming back

Nellie did an amazing job! Her stencils for my MD Tat placements, the perfect color ink was chosen, and did some touch-ups on old work. I got a really great artist that night! They do walk-ins but I recommend an appointment so you can pick the right artist who works for you! Again Great Work Nellie!

Best tattoo Ive ever gotten inexpensive and barely felt it will definitely return when its time for a new one staff was very sweet and sociable people would recommend them in a heartbeat....Thanks James you really did a wonderful memorial tattoo for my dad Im still in awe and I thank Tosh for giving my mom a tour and eliminating her fear that things would not be safe or sterile and I thank Independent tattoo for their compassion towards my mother and I due to the sudden loss of my father!!!!

Phenomenal experience. Very down to earth & fun to talk to. The whole staff was very welcoming, even with us being call ahead walk ins. We were seen within a half hour & got to sit with eachother. If Im ever feeling froggy in OC again, Im not going anywhere else for my tattoo needs. Highly recommend!

Easy 5 star review. Ive gotten a few tattoos here over the years, starting back in 2000. Ever since my first visit Ive been impressed. The shops always had a cool vibe, and the artists and owners are extremely talented.From an operational viewpoint, this is by far the best shop Ive ever been to. Its very clean and everyone has been friendly and professional too. Ive witnessed a couple of interactions with difficult clients and clients that should not get tattooed, and the guys handled them with class.I have no reservations about recommending Independent, and everyone that Ive ever sent there would agree.

They did an amazing job on my tattoo. My artist Justin was so chill and easy to talk to. He did an amazing job and brought tears to my eyes from such a great job that he did. Would definitely recommend this place. They can be on the pricey side but if you want a good quality tattoo your going to have to pay good money for it. My boyfriend and I visited this shop from PA last week while vacationing. From the moment you walk in, you are completely comfortable. They genuinely have the best staff in both friendliness and professionalism. Justin took my reference art and perfected it. He did an amazing job making sure our tattoos were pristine. Highly reccomend!

Justin did my tattoo and I love it. The entire staff was extremely friendly and helped with second opinions. The shop was very clean and I enjoyed my first tattoo experience. They even gave me an after care goodie bag with instructions on how to use the moisturizers and all. I would definitely recommend.

The shop goes out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable. If it’s your first tattoo or your 50th you won’t be disappointed. . I have been getting tattooed for probably 25 years and Independent was my choice when I moved to the beach. Matt Amey has done my work and I am so happy with the results. Many of my friends and colleagues also get tattoos at the shop and I’ve only heard good things about all the other artist work as well. I highly recommend Independent Tattoo for their professionalism, friendliness and above all else amazing work.

100% worth a 5 star rating. First off let me start with how every person I met there was so welcoming. This was a big thing for me cause Im new to the Eastern shore and it made me feel so much more comfortable. Im very picky about where I go for tattoos so after reviewing different shops I finally decided to give Independent a call. Its an hour and 15 mins away from where I live but it was well worth the drive. Jamie was my artist and he was able to take me in as a walk-in. I came in with nothing but a rough idea of what I wanted. He helped me decide on placement, size, and even coloring all while staying in my budget. I will definitely be a returning customer and be recommending it to all my friends. Thank you Jamie and everyone else at Independent Tattoo. I truly love my new tattoo and Ill be back in the spring! :)

Love them!! They did a Great job on me and my boyfriend. The tattoo Justin did for me was a memory for me as my mom had just passed away. Very Professional. My boyfriend wanted a tattoo and he was interested in something for his mom and James went ABOVE & Beyond all expectations. We were suppose to come back and I missed our appointment. I feel horrible, they held those spots for us. Definitely will return and have work done again.

Everything about this place went well and was very professional. Starting with booking the appointment and then the appointment itself. Tasha made setting up my appointment a breeze since Im not local. Yesterday I got there for the tattoo and met Mathew for the first time. Super friendly and a great artist. I look forward to more Tattoos from Mathew at Independent. If youre looking for a great tattoo and a comfortable environment to get one this is your place and Matthew is your guy.

Fourth tattoo Ive gotten there and James never ceases to amaze me. Everyone in the shop was unbelievable. Thats the reason I only had them do my tattoos. I highly recommend Independent Tattoo. You wont be disappointed.

Had an amazing tattoo experience with Tres Denk (my best and most meaningful tattoo yet - thank you so much!), and the shop manager Tasha was also very helpful. The atmosphere is better than shops in my area now and I felt way more comfortable and at ease. I moved away from DE to VA, but the drive back to DE is absolutely worth the quality and professionalism youll get here. I have and will continue to recommend to friends in my area. This is best place in the area to go to for quality, inexpensive tattoos. They take walking & the artists are very friendly, talented, and helpful. They also provide you a free aftercare kit for your new tat! Awesome place! I’ll definitely be coming back to them!

Received my first tattoo here, and had a pleasant experience. They have walk ins on first come first serve basis, and the work done was amazing. Tres Denk was friendly, professional, and did a great job, it was practically painless.

Work was good, workers were knowledgeable. My only issue is, theyre the only place close to the Ocean City MD shore where you can get a tattoo, and they know it. Paid 100 dollars for a tattoo I know I wouldve gotten for 50-60 in Pittsburgh. I paid it, because like I said, it was 45 minutes further to go to another place, and I wanted to get ink while I was on vacation.

Had a blast getting my first tattoo done there.... more of a family environment than a normal tattoo shop... cant wait till my next appointment.. Justin call is the man... definitely will be my go to

They told me they had space for me after 5 pm but when i showed up at 5:30 the shop was closed. I called the number on the door but it’s just a voicemail. Tattoos look cool in the pictures but terrible customer service.

Husband and I got our first tattoos here and what a great job! Tres Denk did both tattoos and we could not be happier. Came in with something we found online and left with a much better version.
