New favorite tattoo spot! This place was recommended to us twice. We finally went to get matching tattoos. We had Jonny and he is great!! Pays really great attention to details and very clean. I’ve already gone back for another one and plan to be back soon.

Chris Mead is the GOAT. Ive gotten two tattoos from him and they have both been picture perfect. One is a half sleeve and another smaller one on my forearm. Beyond the art, hes just a cool guy to chat with while you get your ink. Its like getting inked by a Bartender, the quality conversation definitely helps ignore the needle. If you are concerned about price, remember, you get what you pay for. Ive been to cheaper places, and the result were cheap looking tattoos. Chris gives you the highest quality work that you can be proud to show off. Chris is an awesome artist and I will be back soon for another half sleeve!!

I’ve had 7 tattoos dones by Chris mead so far, and I’ll probably never go to anyone else. Chris is not only an extremely talented artist but so easy going and easy to talk to.I know his work clearly speaks for itself but I still want to give him the praise he deserves. He’s able to do everything I’ve thrown at him, detailed flowers, cute toad warriors, fine line outlines, lettering etc. I’ve seen him to amazing dot work as well.I love seeing him be able to take the ideas in my head and make it into the most perfect tattoo.The shop is always clean and everyone is very welcoming, i highly recommend chris mead and oxblood ink!

Its always a pleasure to work with the folks at Oxblood Ink. They have always worked with me to make sure my design and tattoo needs are completely met. I have always been 100% satisfied with the work when I leave. In the past, i have brought in designs that needed some adjustments and in the end they have always over achieved what I wanted. I was in town for work for 2 weeks and wanted some ink therapy. Oxblood Ink was referred as a great place. I called and was able to get a same day consult with Haylee (who is Ahh-MAZING). I brought her a specific photo of daisy’s and another flowers I wanted, a basic concept and she created the perfect piece of art I wanted for my memorial tattoo. She listened and saw my vision. Its been a few years since I had gotten any ink and this was the first tattoo parlor I had visited in the states. I was met by Jonny who was extremely polite and welcoming, he was able to get me booked in by the end of the week and came up with an excellent design for what I wanted. Jonny seemed just as excited about the tattoo as I did and that was a great feeling for me, it wasnt the easiest of areas to fill in and he done it perfectly. All I have is high praise for this spot. I came in for a spontaneous womb tattoo and Frankie the Tank hooked me right up. He was such a good listener and really worked with me to make sure I loved my new ink. Despite the tat being in a more intimate spot, Frankie was professional and made my comfort his top priority. I’ve been to this tattoo shop for 4 tattoos. All the staff is lovely and the place has good vibes. All my tattoos were done by Frankie and he’s awesome to work with. I went in to Oxblood as a walk in with a design I really wanted, the deaths head moth from silence of the lambs, and within 2 days Johnnie had called me to set up a session and drawn up the design for me in his own amazing style. When I got to the studio Johnnie was already set up and ready to go, and even put on the silence of the lambs for us to watch as he did the tattoo. He was respectful, kind, and incredibly easy going as I moved the placement and asked to have the stencil reapplied. He was always accommodating and worked very hard to keep me comfortable while he tattooed. Overall an amazing experience and one I hope to have again for my next tattoo, as I will definetly be coming back.

Looking to cover up/replace a tattoo I had done about 10 years ago. Both Chris and Jonny took time to discuss a few ideas I was thinking about. Jonny is wonderful!! My sister a I called ahead to see if they could take walk ins and Jonny was so polite and responsive! He had us email him the inspiration for my 3 tattoos and my sisters 2, and he was available within the hour. He is super friendly and he does beautiful work, it was so fun hanging out for the afternoon! Decided to get a tattoo on a whim today and had the good fortune of being paired up with Haylee. She’s a newer tattoo artist but she could not have done a better job. She’s talented and pays close attention to detail, but she’s also kind and friendly and made my session super comfortable and enjoyable. This was the 8th tattoo I’ve gotten at Oxblood, and every experience there has been exceptional. Highly recommend Oxblood and Haylee!

I came in for a walk-in with an original idea last year and have since gone back for three more tattoos with Johnny. Him and all the other artists are immensely talented as well as absolute pleasures to spend the session with. A professional and dedicated shop with stellar work and great guys, you cant beat this place if looking for tattoos in Anne Arundel County.

I’ve been to multiple shops and Oxblood is by far the best. Frankie is the most talented, friendly artist and makes you feel at home. I’ve had many sessions with Frankie and each time he exceeds my expectations. 1000/10 would recommend.

I recently saw Jonny for a forearm piece- Violets on my forearm in Neo-Traditional style. I was treated with the upmost professionalism, consideration, and care during the entire process. The shop is super clean and well taken care of. Jonny made sure I was always comfortable and was a perfectionist when it came to every aspect of my tattoo. Chris, Russ and Frankie are three of the most humble, and talented artists in MD without all of the ego that follows some of that kind of street-cred. I have been going to Chris for quite a few years now and hes done some of my bigger/est pieces and I wouldnt have trusted anyone else with them. I like collecting tattoos from places I visit, but Chris Mead and Oxblood Ink are the mainstay for my work. 100/10, do recommend

I had a great experience which started with a consultation where Russell was able to put my idea onto paper. He sketched out the design and it ended up perfect. I never imagined I would ever get a tattoo in my life, but this place helped me to get a beautiful one that will definitely not be my only one. A great guy named Chris gave me an amazing tattoo of Elliott the Dragon from my number one favorite movie Petes Dragon and I couldnt be happier that I chose him to be my first tattoo. I highly recommend going to a tattoo place like this one to get just about any kind of tattoo you want since the service there is wonderful and the people who work there are really cool and very talented, I am definitely going back there so that Chris can help me get one more tattoo that I think will look fantastic on me. Oxblood Ink is terrific, it may just be the only tattoo place for both me and my sister since shes looking into getting a tattoo of her own real soon.

Oxblood made my 2nd tattoo a great experience. Can’t give enough praise to Frankie for his sincerity and overall fun spirit. He helped me choose the layout and the placement and accommodated all my requests. Great artist too. He is amazing. I’ll be back!

I am currently working on a piece with Chris. Ive had 3 sessions so far. I drive over an hour to get to him. Passing at least three other tattoo locations in my city alone! That is how good he is! If you want someone that you know will work closely with the design and placement and can make the session enjoyable (Ive sat with him for one session that was over 5hrs...the time FLEW by!). Youll have to go see him. I refuse to go anywhere else or to anyone else.

This is my new go-to shop. Ive had work done by Russell and Frankie and they are both awesome. Frankie is my guy though. He fixed a bad job from another artist and then did some original work on another design. Ill be back soon for sure.

Ive had a few tattoos done here by Russell, including my largest to date and I couldnt have been more satisfied. I get complimented almost daily on my back piece, and immediately refer anyone who asks to this shop. His eye for detail is beyond amazing and the shop is beautiful. I was very nervous about someone making the perfect tattoo of my horse, Aspen. I had him for 17 years and he suddenly passed in July. This was my first tattoo.I met with Frankie and sent him horrible hand sketches along with several pictures of Aspen. He nailed it!!! He is an amazing artist and I highly recommend him. I had the pleasure of meeting Russell the end of March for a tattoo. The first thing I noticed was his friendly demeanor; kindness and patience. His shop/work space is impeccably neat, well organized and he is the consummate professional. I only have two tattoos but; if I were to ever get more I would choose Russell hands down. I recommend Russell as a true artist and businessman.

Got my second tattoo at Oxblood. Started the tattoo with another artist, but she had left the shop. I reached out to Russell who said he would get me in quickly and finish the piece. Oxblood Ink is one of the most inviting shops I have ever been to. It is run by four competent, professional, and friendly men. I have spent a great amount of time in the shop, and can honestly say that whether youre getting tattooed by Frankie, Chris, or Russell, or getting a piercing or body modification done by Josh, you will be in good hands. These guys make you feel comfortable and right at home, and the best part? They produce amazing work.

Oxblood rocks man, they have the all around best tattoo artists and piercer. I have seen Frankie for my tattoos and hes the man, very prefessional, fun, and so talented. Best artists around! After i got my first tattoo from Chris Mead, I decided I would never get tattooed by any one else. Hiii!!! Lots to say here so I’ve broken my feedback into categories:Tattoo: I walked into the shop with a whacky Octopus tattoo that I thought would be impossible to cover up.. it was huge and very colorful. Russell tackled it like a champ! I’m so happy with the result. He also tattooed a portrait of my Shiba Inu and he did an AMAZING job. My dog’s name is Princess Leia so he sprinkled in a Star Wars theme too. The entire thing is colorful and adorable.My Experience: Russel (the owner) is the coolest guy. My sessions were very time consuming (and painful obviously!) but he made them enjoyable and fun. He even let me pick movies I wanted to watch! He was extremely patient with me. He answered all my questions, took my suggestions, and explained his process with me very step of the way. The entire experience felt like two people collaborating on a piece of artwork, which was so much fun!Environment: the shop is.. how do I word this.. BADASS!!! Amazing artwork all over the walls, a gift shop with the most comfy clothes, and if you like horror movies.. you’ll love the decor.I highly recommend checking these guys out! For those of you who may have said an artist made a mistake or something needs a “fix”… TALK TO THEM! These artists are good people who really care about their clients. 😌

So my boyfriend and I got tattooed by Chris Mead. It was my third and my boyfriends first. Chris was awesome, he helped me create an amazing piece for my grandfather and help my very picky boyfriend have his tattoo come together. He was very friendly and did great tattoos. We will definitely go nowhere else for the rest of our tattoos. Also I have gotten pierced by Josh and have decided to go only there for anymore piercings. He is educated in what he does, clean, and honest. I had my daith pierced and was having trouble due to the metal causing an allergic reaction, he changed out the jewelry and told me to never hesitate to come back if theres any other issues. Awesome shop!

Got a tattoo done by the artist who owns the shop, it looked good after the session but I had to go back for a touch up less than a month after getting the original. Good prices but if you want a great tattoo, go to a different shop. They were okay for the price range, not very professional though.

Oxblood provided me with a level of customer service that I wasn’t expecting from my local tattoo shop. In lieu of just doing a tattoo and taking my money, Russell collaborated with me over the course of 5 sessions. He was truly invested in my tattoo and worked to understand and create my design. I went here a little over a month ago to get a snug piercing. Josh recommended getting a faux snug piercing (a mid-cartilage piercing and a conch piercing to make it look like a snug) because it can be easier and faster to heal. I decided to get that done and it looked great, but then I started to notice problems with them. Josh pierced them too close together so they kept hitting each other and making one of them sink into my skin because the exit holes of both of them almost came together. Anyways, I ended up having to go to another piercing shop so they could push out my conch piercing from under my skin and then take it out. Even though Josh was great and I really liked my piercing, I was extremely disappointed to have spent so much money on a piercing I eventually had to take out.

Great tattoo shop. Oxblood Ink is clean and friendly. Russell does a great job. Very good artist and tattoo artist. Prices are very fair and reasonable. Will be back. Only shop I’ll use.

This place is an experience. Not only are the artists talented and experienced, but the atmosphere is amazing. Aesthetically, its more like a high-end, trendy art gallery than what youd traditionally consider a tattoo parlor.

Owner was very nice, shop was very clean and I loved my artists work, would highly recommend. I even got to watch the employees deal with a Karen, they were super nice to this lady and she was just not having it but they remained professional
