Had an appointment with Melanie the owner of Rite of Passage tattoo. She does an amazing job with tattooing!!! Very informative,and understanding. She takes the time to work with you,and your tattoo. She wants to make sure that you are happy with your decision. Ive known Melanie for years. Met her when she was an apprentice at another shop. We hit off , because she has such a positive attitude. Even though I do my own art work. I dont go anywhere else for my tattoo work!!!

I have gotten 2 tattoos from here and my spouse has gotten a 3 quarter sleeve. The line work is detailed and crisp and not heavy handed. They draw up beautiful tattoos and helped me finish 2 old ones.

Zone did an amazing job on my half sleeve! Its a great crew there

Joe D. gave me the best tattoo and experience!! He was so professional and made the tattoo the way i wanted it. The shop was clean and every one was so friendly and nice! I will definitely be going back!!

I recently got my first tattoo here, Zone was very informative and made sure I didn’t feel pressured into getting something I didn’t want. I will be returning here in the future

I had a great experience meeting with Joe and discussing the tattoo I wanted after viewing his art and seeing the beautiful work he does. I gave him a printed copy of what I wanted and told him he could put his own spin on it and we discussed some great ideas he had. I scheduled an appointment for over a month away. A little over a week out I had asked to see how the art was shaping up and he said he would work on it the weekend prior to my appointment. This was on a Wednesday and my appointment was Friday of the following week. I didnt hear anything and checked back in on the following Wednesday. He said hed have the art to me the next day. At 7pm the night before my appointment I again asked about seeing the design as I didnt want to walk into the parlor without knowing what was permanently going on my body. He sent me several other designs from other artists that had nothing to do with the original art I had given him. So I re-sent the image we had discussed. At 8:30 he sent me a half done drawing and I told him to cancel the appointment because I was uncomfortable with what was going on. He said he had personal stuff going on during this, which I completely understand and have empathy for, but the topper for me was he said hed get back to me to reschedule the next day with some availability and hasnt reached out. This all happened a week ago. So, its apparent he doesnt want my business for a $500-600 tattoo. Im not using him or any one from this shop. I have another session booked with an artist at a different shop who literally started drawing my tattoo for me at the consultation. I already know a month out from the date an idea of what this design looks like after Joe told me most clients dont see the art until the day of their appointment, which my other artist has immediately disproved and goes against what was said in other communications. Im very frustrated with how this went down.

Great atmosphere, great owners and willing to work w you. ONE artist though, front right window amazing BUT cancelled on me. Told me I was rude and demanded discount. I was asked by the owner to stay and talk to him. But yet I was rude. I would never demand a discount, especially when I work hard! Nonetheless he has skills, but none when it comes to customers-

I am 81 yrs old have waited 80 yrs to get my first two tats now its will be a birthday present to me. I brought Mel a drawing of what I wanted and did an awesome job. My daughter liked an asked if I tipped her. I would like to come back get another tattoo and make amends if shell have me. Great tattoo everyone loves it.

Deanna is absolutely fantastic. All of my work I have done was done by her. I have 9 total right now. 3 of them are her customer designs. I absolutely love her and will be going back to her for the more. If she ever decided to leave (which I hope she doesnt), I would follow her. Thanks D!

I’ve been coming here for awhile now and I’ve had family and friends come and get theirs done here! Deanna is awesome. The whole staff is kind and very laid back. They take their time getting your ideas just right the way you want em. They don’t rush and work is amazing. I brought my 3 kids in to get their tats (2 of them were 1st timers) and Deanna explained everything and let me take breaks as needed! They are addicted and can’t wait to come back.

I cant say enough good things about Mel. When I started the reconstruction phase of the nipple and areola, she sat down with me and explained the best option for my journey. She showed me pictures of her work and its amazing. When she did the areola, she was very precise and spent more time getting the size and tilt correct before she started. After she had that right for her, it didnt seem like it took anytime at all. I also went back to her to have a Pooh bear tattoo done. Again she worked with the design until it was right before she started. I highly recommend that people with breast cancer meet with her and let her do her magic! You will be truly happy and complete!

Awesome staff and truly talented artists make you feel at home and at ease. Very clean establishment. Going back for color and shading as soon as my outline work is healed up... thank you to Colin for such awesome work!!

I started my tattoo journey at rite of passage over 3 years ago and it was the best decision I have done. The establishment is very clean and professional. All the artists are amazing at what they do, especially Deanna. Shes my go to and has never failed to create my visions into such beautiful art. You can tell she is very passionate about her work. I 10/10 would reccomend everyone to go to rite of passage. You will not regret it one bit!

I got my first tattoo from Deanna Murphy and she is a sweet heart, she was so polite and friendly. She would ask if I was doing okay and see if i needed a break for a minute, Deanna also does flash tattoo sales and let me tell you those tattoos she draws up are so cool. She has come in on days off during this pandemic she is sooooooooooooo amazing, I love the work she does I also have told my friends about her and they said they will check her out and my cousin wants a tattoo from her. She has such clean line work and she kept making sure that you are okay and comfortable during your tattooing, if I could I would give 1000 stars for her work on here, and I am sticking with Deanna Murphy.

I love this shop! Colin does excellent work and I am repeatedly astounded with his line work and shading. Everyone is very friendly and relaxed. I highly recommend this shop - and Colin if youre getting gray scale work done.

WOW, what a great tattoo artist Mel is! She is also the owner, and has a very quick and gentle touch. I expected to pay a lot more!

Melanie did my tatoos after my reconstructive surgery. So real looking, its amazing! Its very hard to look at your chest and see nothing but scars. Melanie did such a fantastic job, you could never tell they arent real. Its so fantastic to feel whole again. And to make it even better, Melanie is friendly, and very considerate. She makes you feel at home immediately. I cant thank her enough, not only for how good I look now, but for making it a comfortable experience. Also, Ive met quite a few women who said they didnt bother with the tattoos because their husbands didnt care. Mine said the same thing but, think about it. Whats he suppposed to say after all I went through? Do yourself and your husband a favor and get the tattoos. You will be glad you did. Phylp

GREAT tattoo, but if you’re planning on getting it somewhere with hair I suggest shaving first... They kind of do a figure 8 when shaving with a cheap razor and it has left me with over 10 ingrown hairs down my leg when I got the tattoo almost a month ago.. super painful and really really close to the fresh tat... anxiously awaiting it to heal so I can show it off without looking diseased !!

That’s being kind. Place is dirty. Has beens who have no talent but want to play with the big leagues.Save your money!! Also a ripoffDeanna is sweet and has potential. They are not the place for mentorship.

Wow cant believe me and my girlfriend got a tattoo here! We walk in and no one had the common curtisy to help us out, then finally after 15 min of waiting someone came out to help us. I have a feeling we got over charged for our tattoos especially since the quality was not there.. Take your hard earned cash and go else where this place is a BIG JOKE!!!!! Unprofessional!!!!! :(

I cant comment on their artwork yet, but the spelling on their web site is horrible. If youre having any text work done, be damn careful! They definitely need a new web site editor.

I went in today for a consultation with Melanie after a mastectomy she was wonderful and I cant wait for my actual design and tattoo.

Colin took the idea in my head and totally ran with It, giving me a design that is above and beyond. An amazing artist who really knows his craft. And he cares.

I have been here twice and i totally love my tattoos. They are very friendly and Collen was awesome.

I got a tattoo 6 months ago that I was unhappy with and Colin did a fantastic job fixing it. I love how it looks now and Ill definitely be returning.
