I cant even begin to express how greatful I am to have met tron!!!!! I was recommended to dark horse tattoo for a cover up and Im beyond pleased with the work that was done. Run dont walk if you want any kind of work done dark horse tattoo is the place to go. Ask for tron because hes super great at what he does very light handed and Hella funny. The shop was crazy clean and very well put togeather. 10/10 recommend and will be going back to get more work done. I will not go anywhere else!!! Thanks tron from doing such an amazing job!!

This shop was recommended to me and it did not disappoint. Tron did a great job. He made us feel comfortable and made great suggestions. Me and my best friend got matching tattoos and they were beautifully done. All the guys in the shop were very friendly. It was a nice and clean shop. I would definitely recommend them. They do great work.

I went here for my first tattoo due to the owners reputation. A few tattoos later… and I realized I was completely ripped off by the walk in artist. I was charged $200 dollars for three short words… not only that but it also healed terribly. You can see ink leaking into my skin around the tattoo, it looks like it was done with a marker. Places on the tattoo that used to be just skin healed and now there is ink there. The first picture is when It was healed and the second in when I first got it.

Tron was amazing! I showed him what I wanted not only did he do it, but he put his artistic spin on it and I love it even more! I will definitely be back soon 🙂

My first tattoo experience ever was here in 2019 and I’ve been a loyal customer ever since with more piece being added to my sleeve periodically.They’re real professional, with great customer service, the shop is nice, clean and organized. They have adjusted to the mandated Covid regulations very well while maintaining great customer service memorable experiences. The shop owner was a season 2 finalist of Ink Masters Sebastian Murphy so the artwork is phenomenal from him and everyone else.

Ive been here twice for three tatts total within the past three weeks, and I love each one! Both Anthony and Tron did such amazing jobs with my tatts. Anthonys color work on my DBZ forearm tatt is super bold and saturated, a perfect tribute to the late Mr. Toriyama, and Trons blacks on my aurebesh lettering is solid and crisp and Im definitely going to be coming back in the future to both for more of my nerdy tattoos! They both took their time to make sure each was positioned properly and I was happy with where they were, always checking to make sure I was okay throughout, that every space was filled in as solidly as possible and just made each session fun! Cant recommend these two and the shop enough!

If I could put 10 stars I would - Gomez is my artist, Ive made multiple appointments with him, Ive never had one issue with him, very clean, very easy to work with and will give you his best advise, and is EXTREMELY TALENTED.As far as the rest of the staff - 10/10. Sebastian is great and so is Chris and the rest of the team. The shop is very clean, very friendly. I drive almost an hour to come here and I leave happy every single time. I highly recommend them to everyone.

THE Sebastian Murphy has been my tattoo artist for the better part of 10 years now! I have moved around the country several times, and refused to let anyone else, but him tattoo me because he pays attention to detail, he also listens to the client, but at the same time won’t let me make stupid tattoo choices without explaining or at the very least telling me why it would look awful lol I’ve been to people before him who I have seen let clients get dumb, tattoos or artists that are not experienced. Try things that are beyond their scope and then charge cheaper rates… YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!! Everyone in the shop is funny, skilled, and fair… Ant Man has grown as an artist leaps and bounds over those who started in the industry at the same time, Krys is not only a good artist with the Ink but on the mic as well and the other two gentlemen there (I forgot their names somehow) are amazing as well. If you want the best tattoos in the Midwest and you don’t consider booking here, you might as well go to a state fair and get that henna stuff OR my 5 year old can just freehand with a box pen bc that’s the type of quality difference the world will see when they put a DarkHorse tattoo next to whatever scratchy BS you get that’s NOT from here.

What I got vs what I asked for, the tattoo came out exactly how I asked and the artist was professional, I did not have an appointment and walked in with my girlfriend and both got tattoos, the vibes are great too. 5/5 go get tatted.

Tron always delivers— came back to him for some quick impulse fillers after a great experience previously and, as always, he provided a dope, relaxed environment. He’s consistently bringing positive energy regardless how his days going and I respect him for that. Linework is always clean and he’ll always be honest with you about how your tattoo will age.Will for sure be coming back whenever I want another impulse tattoo to make me feel better! :))

My very first tattoo. My artist was Sebastian. It wasnt an unpleasant experience, I think Ill do it again. The thing about my tattoo is that, I LOVE IT! If you want some ink, I recommend Dark House.

So i called first before coming in, i wanted a small tattoo scripture same-day which you see below, on the phone i was told “oh no problem we can easily do that tattoo quickly, wouldn’t take much” okay cool! so i come get tatted, pretty pleasant experience, told the guy it was my first time. Guess that was my mistake. after we get to the counter to pay afterwards he says “can you do 2?” i said “uhh, 2 what??” he says my tattoo is 200 dollars???? i was completely baffled & appalled. i paid the fee without argument but never again will i go here. i’m not sure if they do this to all customers or just the first timers but BEWARE.

I got a phoenix tattoo on my forearm by Anthony on Aug 18, 2023.The tattoo came out great. Anthony is a very talented tattoo artist. I will definitely be back for another tattoo with him. The shop is great and everyone there is wonderful.

I have to say that my experience at Dark Horse was exceptional, the best birthday gift I could’ve ever asked for. I worked with Anthony aka Ant Man. He was able to put my vision into a work of true art. He made me feel comfortable, is a true artist and was clean and precise. You can tell that Anthony loves what he does and it comes through in his craft. I’ve never been so excited to show off my tattoos. He did a cover up for me in honor of my sons and I can not wait for it to be finished so I can show the world! Such a loving environment at Dark Horse, all of the other artists were welcoming and friendly as well!

Insane amount of talent at this establishment. Anytime I hear of someone looking for an artist, I always refer them to the Dark Horse family. No matter what style youre looking for there will be an artist that can do exactly what youre looking for. Everything from black and gray photo realism to color photo realism, then to comic book style then to script and font work and then to Mandela and intricate dot work style... there is nothing that their crew cant handle. When the artists at a shop have a long waiting list.. theres a good reason for that....Dark Horse will be worth the wait and worth your time.

My artist was Anthony he was amazing. He fixed my tattoo that was 13 years old and I couldnt ask for a better outcome. He was super nice and worked well with me to come up with a amazing concept. The owner was super nice and friendly as well. The shop was very welcoming and felt like a family. Will definitely be back.

Tron was dope as hell— created a very lax and chill atmosphere for me and my friends and fit us in for a last minute walk in. He was very accommodating with our strange tattoo requests and his linework is very crisp. 10/10 would visit again

Everything went smoothly with setting up an appointment. Anthony has a great vibe and the shops atmosphere is super awesome. Everyone was very friendly and their COVIDprotocol was on point. Great flow with checking clients in and out.My experience was great and I absolutely love my new piece. Anthony did a great job working with me with on what I was looking for in my tattoo. I went to Sebastian for a memorial tattoo in tribute to my late mother. I chose a dream catcher, with the word ‘Mom’ in the design but I didn’t know exactly how to include it- that’s where Sebastian came in. His creative intuition designed me the perfect piece and I love it so much. It’s the most meaningful tattoo that I have and I won’t go to anyone else for my future work. I was a little nervous about picking the right tattoo and artist but Anthony and the rest of Dark Horse made me feel super welcome and eased me through the whole tattoo. I came all the way from downriver to get some Aztec work done and they knocked it right out of the park. Highly recommend!!

Before I got my tattoo, I was nervous because I thought it was gonna hurt. For this to be my first tattoo experience, I’m so happy that I went to dark horse. After watching inkmaster on TV and seeing Sebastian was local to Detroit, I tracked him down to finish (and rework) a huge back piece I’d started previously in NYC. 9 portraits of my 5 daughters in a heart shape with their names within puzzle pieces creating the heart - about 40 hours later my back was completed and I couldn’t have been happier with everything. I’ve since spent another 40-50 hours with him on the most intricate detailed work I’ve ever seen, including a Times Square tribute (NYC) 14 hour session with 3 cars and the entire scene of Times Squares red neon stairs….truely the most detail work in a relatively small amount of skin I’ve ever seen. He’s also put a endoskeleton from the Terminator and a dual portrait tribute piece of my late father, soon to come (when a target price is reached, he’s putting a digital replication of the detailed Bitcoin to further test his fine line detail workI’ve not been to another artist since I met him about 10 years ago, and won’t visit anyone elseGreat guy, with amazing skills.Happy to consider him a friend

Sebastian did a tattoo of dory for my husband and it is impeccable. Just perfect. He was so kind to take on this project considering his success in his field. And the tattoo is beautiful. And this was such a positive experience for my husband. I appreciate it so much and cant praise him enough.

Always have a great experience at dark horse, all the artists in there are friendly and cool people. They changed their shop around quickly to adjust to these hard times during Covid and making sure everyone is safe. I personally get tatted by Gomez, super cool dude does amazing detailed work.

Today I got a coverup tattoo @darkhorsetattoos by @antmantattoos. He was very helpful with the tattoo idea and the whole layout and design. He was very knowledgeable about his work and was willing to answer any questions that I had. He finished the tattoo, which was a fairly large upper arm/bicep tattoo, in one session while also being very considerate of my pain tolerance; and giving breaks when needed.

Just got a cover up Monday 6/17/19, by Anthony, very professional, excellent work! Very relaxed environment great place to get work done. All the artists were friendly and helpful, definitely will be going back. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get work done. Thanks Anthony for an amazing tattoo.

This is my first time ever getting a tattoo and my experience was amazing! The artist opened all packages in front of me and explained the procedure to me which made me feel way more comfortable. Only complaint I have is it is pricey. But they do amazing work!

I cant say enough good things about Sebastion and the whole Dark Horse crew great atmosphere, super friendly, very professional, very clean. After years of trying to find someone to finish my sleeve I found out about Sebastion from a total stranger after I noticed his sleeve (which was amazing) and asked him who did the work. Sebastion knocked it out of the park I couldnt be happier. I will definitely be back for future work and recommend any who is thinking about getting tattooe to call Dark Horse.

I see soooo many great tattoos on these reviews and Im very confused why mine was so absolutely terrible.Went in on my birthday with my brothers to get our gradmas signature tattooed on the side of our hand. The tattoo is barely an inch. After about a week or two when it was fully healed my tattoo is barely there. I wouldnt even call it faded it was terrible form the beginning . Some of the letters you cant even see. What also aggravates me is that my brother was completely taken advantage of. he was paying for the tattoos thinking that a simple five minute four letter tattoo would be Max forty bucks. I have many other tattoos that are way more detailed and a lot larger that didnt cost much more than this faded nonsense on my hand. Im guessing because it was a last-minute tattoo that they decided they could charge us whatever they want, so $80 each was the price. Theyre lucky that I wasnt the one paying because theres no way I would have walked out of there paying that much. I think they knew that they could walk all over him and gave him a ridiculous price and probably laughed as he left. I dont live in Michigan I was just there visiting but this was a HUGE mistake and I would advise all of you looking into this place TO do more research before going in.

Especially Sebastian murphy is who I trust you wont be disappointed he makes your ideas come to life even if other tattoo order say they cant do it because theyre not skilled he will do whatever you ask and hell work with you until you are fully satisfied with what you want

I have many tattoos. I will never go back to Dark Horse again. I got a simple tattoo with my girl friend. The tattoo it self should of only took about 45 minutes, it took five hours. Iam gonna have to go some where else. To get them to fix the mess Iam left with. It has only been a couple weeks ago and my ink has came out. Never ever again will I go to Ant-Man for a tattoo. Honestly they should pay to have my tattoo fixed by someone else. Iam so deeply unhappy with his work. My girl friend that got the other half of the tattoo. Is having the same problem. Her ink came out and looks awful.

I went here about two years ago. I literally walked in and it was a name your price special. Gomez got me together. Best piece I have so far. Seb the owner is sweet as well.
