Went to Melissa for both of my tattoos, it was nothing but a pleasurable experience. Making an appointment was easy, everybody else in the shop was awesome too. Even with my second one, I was Melissa’s last appointment and she even worked past closing time to finish it up and make sure everything was perfect. The shop is so great the it’s become a family affair, both my sisters, my brother in law and my cousin all go to Melissa for their tattoos also. Nothing but love and respect for everyone in the shop

Was so excited to get my nipple pierced. Everyone I know has gone to sparrow for a piercing or tattoo at some point in my life so I figured they would be okay. It was the worst pain of my life I ended up throwing up and passing out after I left thinking wow I have a super high pain tolerance that’s weird. Till I showed my friend from out of state who’s a piercer. They pierced my areola not my nipple. I tried to let it heal but after months of pain I am about to take it out and call it a loss since that’s what every place I’ve showed has said to do. You can clearly see where the piercer marked my nipple before hand. How he missed THAT far away I’ll never know. When asking questions about how do I clean it what size bar how long to change it he got nasty and said it’s on a paper I’d get after ( the answers weren’t on there and I was told that was a general piercing sheet not for nipples so what they told me to use wasn’t good for that type of skin) will never go back again and now I’m scared to get my nipple pierced again

Absolutely the best!!! The best tattoo shop on Long Island. This place is a second home to me. Everyone there treats you with excellent service and they’re incredibly accommodating. Melissa is an incredible artist and will draw up the most creative tattoos with very little input from me, all I have to give her is an idea. I recommend the shop to anyone and everyone. They all are so warm and welcoming. Thank you guys for always being as amazing as you are!!!

Just do your research on the artist and trust your gut. Im currently getting my tattoo from here completely reworked because it was done very poorly. Photo of the original fresh tattoo and the photo during the process of reworking it.

Melissa has been a pleasure to deal with. I recently came back to cover up a tattoo that she did 9 years ago. Given that the tattoo was a name Melissa took it upon herself to keep the shading light in case I ever wanted to cover it in the future. I now appreciate the foresight more then ever. I gave her a picture of a style that I liked and she put her own touches on it making it so much better then the original. I love the new tattoo, she is truly a talented artist and amazing at what she does. Endless compliments. Highly recommended and I will be back for more ink in the future.

Ive been going to Sparrow since December 2021 and have gotten numerous tattoos done there since. The atmosphere is always so friendly and fun, and you can tell the artists take their work very seriously. Melissa has done all of my tattoos since I first discovered them and I can simply never go to a different shop ever in my life because I know the experience wont be the same. I highly recommend anyone (first timers or not) check out Sparrow. It was a lucky and spontaneous find for me and Im glad I am able to get whatever tattoos I want there.

One of the best tattoo shops ive ever been to. Walking in, this place has a super old school vibe- theres music playing in the background, you can hear chatter and laughter from the artists and clients. This place is super clean, and super professional. I cant say enough about how awesome Rob is, he takes the time to listen to what you want, and create a design with you, his technique is amazing. Melissa is equally as awesome, although I have not been tattooed by her yet, Ive seen her finished art and have watched her tattoo and her art is perfection. I was there for a charity event a few months back, and these wonderful artists donated their time for a cause, tattooing all day and part of the night-

We have been going to Sparrow (to get ink done by Melissa) for years! The shop is extremely clean and well maintained AND the service is top notch. Not only is Melissa’s work truly the best I have seen but she is friendly and super accommodating. Both my husband and I had very sentimental pieces done by her and aside from them being aesthetically amazing- her understanding of the emotional piece of the artwork was outstanding. She is super creative also. You can either tell her exactly what you want or give her some kind of ideas and ask her to create some thing on her own- she can do either! Honestly the only place that we recommend to friends, and the only person that we would have put ink on us now! Absolutely the best!

In the past 3 years I have had 11 tattoos by Melissa. I have had only positive experiences while at Sparrow Tattoo. Melissa is kind, creative, gentle and a great listener. She literally brought my visions to life. Not only is she an incredibly talented artist she’s one of the coolest people you will ever meet. I have sent many people to her and every single one of them has been back for more and have never had any complaints. My sister and I were both pierced by Tristan and he was professional and gentle, not to mention a badass tattoo artist as well. Got my first tattoo done here and it was a good experience! I am an artist and go to school for art education. There’s a line self portrait I drew of myself years ago with my head as the paint pallet and I’ve wanted this tattoo for the last 4/5 years. This reflects that the most raw form of not only me but of artists is our art. Art provokes so much human emotion out of us more than words can. I was so thrilled to finally have a mini me on my arm to remind myself who I am in times of doubt. The shop was super clean and had a great atmosphere! Not going to lie I totally forgot the name of the guy who did my tat but he was great! Quick, talkative, fair price and talented! Thank you!! I’ll be back soon!

Sparrow tattoo is the only place I trust for piercings! Tristan is very quick with the piercing process and always makes sure I know how to care for them. He is also an amazing tattoo artist as well as piercer! Highly recommend if your looking for traditional tattoo style

I attended the Tuff Tails fundraiser tattoo event today, 10/15 at Sparrow Tattoo. This was the first time I used this shop. I am very pleased with the tattoo and with the artist, Rob. Rob has a smooth hand when outlining and the shading was terrific. This may have been my first time visiting Sparrow Tattoo, however I look forward to going back for custom designs!

I’ve been coming to Sparrow for years, 11+ tattoos, 9 by Chantal. 2yrs ago she drew up a beautiful custom b&w piece—couldn’t get it immediately but I finally got it yesterday August 21st 2018. Every piece I’ve gotten from her has been better than the last and she’s not only an amazing artist but an amazing person. She’s tattoos my fiancée and several friends, and I couldn’t imagine having any of these tattoos done by anyone but her because of her unique artistic talent.The shop is always clean and comfortable, Rob, Melissa, and Dennis are also friendly and great artists! 5 stars isn’t enough!

Best place to get tattooed ever. Everyone in the shop is always welcoming and super friendly. I’ve had several large pieces done by Rob, and during planning he takes the time to understand what I want, and also adds in his ideas which are always amazing. There’s always laughter in the shop, and great music in the background. The shop is super clean, and well organized.

Melissa was beyond professional and provided a relaxing and comforting environment. Her artwork is awesome and would recommend her for first timers and tattoo veterans.

Got my belly pierced here Saturday night and they did an amazing job. My piercer was really clean and my piercing is absolutely perfect. The price for the piercing was amazing too. Would definitely recommend for any piercing needs.UPDATE: piercing is fully healed and I’m still in love. Will be going back for another piercing in june

I went to Sparrow after a friends recommendation and I could not have been happier. The place is very clean, Rob was incredibly professional, and I love the tattoo that I got. It barely even hurt. The shop has elected to ignore my displeasure for years since I complained about the tattoo and was told it would look right when it healed, i have included pictures if the reference and finished product. Judge for yourself world.

I am over the moon with the tattoo cover up Dennis did today. He was extremely helpful and made me feel extremely comfortable during the cover up itself. I will definitely be coming back for my further tattoos as well as I’ll be referring anyone I know to them for any tattoo needs. It is clear as day why they have the amazing rating that they do.

Firstly before my arrival.. I called several times no one answered! Upon arrival I was greeted with a lot of attitude poor welcoming! I then explained that I was calling and the girl responded by saying we just opened and this was after 12! Anyways I stated the service I wanted and I was told with an attitude that they have no time to do same and I should come back in 6hours like seriously!!? Though I was told I could walk in! I asked how long does my service normally take and the girl responded by saying Im not the piercer! I just walked out! I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I would highly recommend Sparrow Tattoo. I recently returned after several years for my third tattoo. It was so nice to see some of the same staff (Melissa & Chantel). That says a lot about Rob’s (owner) business since it’s been 10 years from when I got my first two tattoos. They make a great team. Rob had done my first two tattoos and I was so pleased and happy how they came. I had a design & image for my third tattoo and spoke to Rob. He drew the tattoo for me. Rob is a professional & detailed tatttoo artist. He provided me suggestions so that it would be more realistic. When it was completed it came amazing. It is a chain and open padlock on my lower leg. I have received numerous compliments on it. I have my 4th tattoo designed and appointment already made (don’t want to wait as long as I did) and have plans for more. They make you feel comfortable, not rushed, you talk through the tatto design, quality of work is tops and they are super friendly. Thanks Rob for the awesome work, you’re truly an exceptional artist!!

I stopped by as a walk in this past Saturday and saw the amazing Chantal. She was awesome. The spot I picked was a little tricky and Chantal was so patient and took her time to make the placement just right! He work is flawless and she was super friendly. I would highly recommend this shop and especially Chantal!!!

I went to Sparrow for my first tattoo- a paper crane on my left wrist- and I had a wonderful experience! Wilkie (Chris) was personable and knowledgeable and everyone in the shop was really welcoming. I just got my tattoo done here yesterday. 6/6/18. With my best friend. We did matching tattoos of a little bird on the side, where the rib cage is. We got matching tattoos since I’m moving away and it symbolizes that since I’m moving away, I’m “flying away”. I thought it would hurt, but it didn’t. It only hurt a bit, and I’m bad when it comes to pain. My belly piercing hurt way worse. But overall, Rob, who did our tattoo, did an amazing job. He first did a line to see how the pain was gonna be since it was our first time doing a tattoo. And the results came out perfect and I would 10/10 come back for another tattoo here. Have Rob do your tattoo also, he’s calming, he’s very nice and he talks to you so you’re less nervous. Thank you for me and my friends little bird tattoo :)

All the artists are welcoming and friendly.My sister and I have gone here numerous times for our tattoos,although it is a bit expensive they WONT try to take advantage of you and charge you a lot(if the artist does charge by the hour,like rob does).

10 days ago I had a custom made tattoo designed for my left forearm, from a specialized coin. Very professional, artistic, attention to details.I will be returning in 2 weeks for a cover up with the original version. Lots of detailRob is a perfectionistThank you

I’m gonna start by saying first of all I don’t take the best care of my fresh piercings, and second of all the piercer there is pretty clean and thorough. However, I recently got my cartilage pierced there And it got infected pretty badly, I’m pretty sure it’s my fault that it got infected, but, Usually when your Piercing gets infected you want to leave the jewelry in while taking antibiotics. If you take it out you risk the infection not healing properly. Leaving my piercing in was not an option because the infection caused swelling past both sides of the jewelry. After getting the Jewelry ripped out of my ear at the emergency room we found out the jewelry itself was about a centimeter long. As per my new piercer this is completely inappropriate for a fresh piercing especially a cartilage piercing. So if you head here for a piercing make sure that doesn’t happen to you. Maybe just avoid all together, you shouldn’t have to go into a shop knowing what’s best, thats the piercers job to Inform you.

I got a tattoo yesterday here by Rob, and it’s detail is amazing; he used a fine line technique and it came out very well. The price at this place is very reasonable despite the fact that they have some of the best detail in their work that I’ve seen.

Got some simple wording done,came as a walk in, and within an hour I was done. Amazing work and by far one of the best tattoos Ive gotten. Even had a talk about other ideas for my next piece.Also always fun to meet other joy division fans!

I totally recommend Sparrow Tattoo, I got a tattoo from Rob after he tattooed my best friend with an amazing mandala piece.. I’ve never been tatted before this and had my reservations about having tattoos.. but when I seen the detail and the creativity put into that piece it changed my views on tattoos.. Even though I was nervous they made me feel so comfortable with their personable and friendly attitudes.. And I’m not just talking about the person who tattooed me on talking about the other two artist that were there that day.. If I could give 0 stars I would. Absolutely terrible experience. I went in to get a quote on a tattoo and they immediately caught an attitude with me so I ended up leaving and getting a tattoo else where. This place needs to revise their service.

They were super chill there and made my experience very comfortable while I panicked a bit getting my first piercing by myself. Ill be coming back there for more piercings! ☺️
